Pro-life group to Mayor: Work on removing late term abortion reputation instead of silencing pro-life people

The Mayor of a New Mexico city has called out a pro-life group for showing the truth of abortion and they replied by accusing the mayor of doing nothing to end late term abortions in their city.

ProtestABQ recently drove their pro-life “truth truck” into the Albuquerque neighborhood of Democratic City Council Candidate Pat Davis to expose how he supports killing children in the womb and what that looks like.

Mayor Richard Berry, who calls himself pro-life, is getting heat from residents who say they do not want the images in their neighborhood.

So, instead of calling out the pro-abortion politician, the mayor posted a YouTube video to call for ProtestABQ to stop driving their truth trucks into Davis’ neighborhood.

“What I’m doing today is asking them to stop that activity,” he said.

“There’s nothing we can find that would legally stop them from doing this,” Berry said. “But I’m standing up as a mayor and asking them to advocate for a position, but in a way that’s respectful for our kids in our community, Mayor Berry told KRQE.

Tara Shaver, spokesperson for ProtestABQ responded to the Mayor’s video:

“The reason why Protest ABQ has resorted to what some people consider extreme tactics is a direct result of Mayor Berry’s lack of action regarding the out of control abortion industry and his very own city. Mayor Berry as well as our self proclamined pro-life Governor Susana Martinez have not lifted one finger to save even one preborn child’s life but instead allow children to be subjected to the brutal action the images we use capture. Instead of trying to silence and trample on our First Amendment constitutional rights, Mayor Berry should work on removing Albuquerque’s shameful reputation of being the late term abortion capital of the nation. Instead of siding with pro-choice interests he should work to fulfill the responsibilities that his constituents elected him to fulfill.”

Shaver is referring to the late term abortion facility operated by abortionist Curtis Boyd. Protest ABQ recently accused Boyd’s Southwestern Women’s Options of possibly being involved in gruesome baby parts harvesting operations.

While the media has been all over this story they refuse to show the public the truth of what abortion looks like. And now, thanks to this Mayor they are focusing more on the images than on the kids that are being slaughtered by abortion.

Meanwhile, the pro-abortion council hopeful called the tactic intimidation adding, “I don’t believe for a minute that city hall has any business getting between a woman and her doctor on medical issues, so we’ll just have to agree to disagree.”

Davis complained about the protest on his Facebook page, writing:

For the second day in a row, my neighbors (and their kids) have endured these protests because I don’t believe city council has any business getting between a woman and her doctor.

“Everyone has a right to participate in the political process, but this is unnecessary. Help me send a message by voting early (open now!) and volunteering to turn out our neighbors to vote.”

While a few people liked the post and approved of Davis’ pro-abortion position, one reasonable resident asked him a pointed question, writing,”Reality is gruesome to look at sometimes. Why are the images of what is going on more offensive than the actual activities?”

The trucks are not the only way ProtestABQ is getting out the message that Pat Davis is pro-abortion.

Earlier this month, they sent Albuquerque residents graphic mailers also exposing Davis’ abortion positions.

The message read:

Pat Davis: Too extreme for City Council District 6, and you can expect more of this if he’s elected.
    Davis champions this…

According to Bud Shaver, the mailer was meant to be graphic because, as the mailer states:

While Davis claims to be “progressive” he really champions archaic practices such a late-term abortion. Davis will not bring progress to ABQ but instead, he will ensure that barbaric late-term abortions will continue in our city.

A vote for Pat Davis is a vote against the women and children of Albuquerque.

The residents of Albuquerque deserve to know where aspiring politicians stand on pre-born child killing,” Shaver added.

The election will be held October 6th.

Protest ABQ has worked tirelessly in New Mexico to close the infamous Southwestern Women’s Options late term abortion facility operated by abortionist Curtis Boyd. They have also worked to pass strict abortion laws educating the public with truth trucks that show what abortion does to unborn babies.
