Albuquerque, NM – A woman has died as the result of a late-term abortion process initiated at Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO), in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is the largest abortion facility in the U.S. that openly specializes in abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

Abortion Free New Mexico obtained the autopsy report for Keisha Marie Atkins, 23, who died on February 4, 2017, after being transported from SWO to UNM Hospital. Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico has also been in communication with members of Atkins’ family.

Operation Rescue is assisting Abortion Free New Mexico with an investigation of this tragedy.

This abortion-related death is particularly troubling in light of a criminal investigation that is currently underway by the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office into Southwestern Women’s Options and UNM. UNM has aggressively worked to increase second and third trimester abortions at SWO, which, in turn, is UNM’s largest provider of aborted baby tissue and organs. A U.S. House investigation found this arrangement violates state and federal law, despite stonewalling and obfuscation on the part of UNM and SWO.

Atkins reported to SWO on January 31, 2017, for a four day late-term abortion procedure that was to be done by eighty-year old abortion facility owner Curtis Boyd. It is believed that Atkins was six months pregnant or more.

Four days later, on February 3, 2017, Atkins returned to SWO for the completion of the abortion where she displayed labored breathing and signs of sepsis, a systemic, life-threatening infection.

At 12:04 p.m. on February 3, an ambulance was called to transport Atkins to the hospital, but was later cancelled, raising questions of how and when Atkins actually received emergency medical help.

Once at the UNM Medical Center, Atkins’ condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting UNM staff to perform an emergency D&E abortion procedure to remove her baby through dismemberment.

During the procedure, Atkins suffered cardiac arrest. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m. on February 4, 2017.

An autopsy was conducted at the UNM Health Sciences Center by the UNM Office of the Medical Investigator, which also serves as the Bernadillo County Coroner. The OMI determined that Atkins cause of death was “pulmonary thromboembolism due to pregnancy,” in other words, blood clots in the lungs.

However, a careful review of the autopsy findings indicates that this cause of death is a whitewash meant to blame Atkins’ pregnancy for her death instead of what appears to be a mismanaged late-term abortion procedure.

“UNM is a biased promoter of abortion that is attempting to shift blame onto Atkins’ pregnancy, instead of the abortion, where the blame rightfully belongs,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “Keisha Atkins and her family deserve the truth, not a cover-up. But with UNM and SWO, covering up their misdeeds has become standard operating procedure.”

There is evidence that Atkins suffered from sepsis, a bacterial infection caused by the four-day abortion process, which brought about symptoms consistent with Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC). Atkins suffered hemorrhaging in her brain, a buildup of fluid around her lungs, and other symptoms of DIC that the autopsy ignored.

Pro-life leaders believe there is a way to keep other women from suffering Atkins’ fate.

“We call on the New Mexico Attorney General to step up their criminal investigation, and we call on the State Medical Board to take a hard, honest look at Keisha Atkins’ death,” Newman said. “Curtis Boyd should be stopped from practicing, and the dangerous Southwestern Women’s Options should be shut down for good.”

“Coverups are as heinous as the crimes, and the crimes of the abortion cartel in New Mexico have been covered up for too many years. It is time for Hector Balderas to do his job or resign. It is time for the UNM Regents to do their jobs or resign. It is time for the New Mexico Medical Board to fully investigate Keisha’s death without bias,” said Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, The Protest Priest.

“We join the family of Keisha Atkins as they grieve her death from serious complications during a late term abortion at Southwestern Women’s Options. She was a 23-year old vibrant woman with her whole life ahead of her that was tragically cut short,” stated Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico. “For years we have worked to expose the barbaric nature of late term abortion in New Mexico and sought to bring accountability to the unregulated and unaccountable Abortion Cartel. Now more than ever, we need leadership in our city and state to take a bold stand and the necessary steps to prevent the needless deaths of women and their children through late term abortion.”

Pro-life group to Mayor: Work on removing late term abortion reputation instead of silencing pro-life people

The Mayor of a New Mexico city has called out a pro-life group for showing the truth of abortion and they replied by accusing the mayor of doing nothing to end late term abortions in their city.

ProtestABQ recently drove their pro-life “truth truck” into the Albuquerque neighborhood of Democratic City Council Candidate Pat Davis to expose how he supports killing children in the womb and what that looks like.

Truth Tructh Protest ABQ

Mayor Richard Berry, who calls himself pro-life, is getting heat from residents who say they do not want the images in their neighborhood.

So, instead of calling out the pro-abortion politician, the mayor posted a YouTube video to call for ProtestABQ to stop driving their truth trucks into Davis’ neighborhood.

Mayor Richard Berry

“What I’m doing today is asking them to stop that activity,” he said.

“There’s nothing we can find that would legally stop them from doing this,” Berry said. “But I’m standing up as a mayor and asking them to advocate for a position, but in a way that’s respectful for our kids in our community, Mayor Berry told KRQE.

Tara Shaver, spokesperson for ProtestABQ responded to the Mayor’s video:

“The reason why Protest ABQ has resorted to what some people consider extreme tactics is a direct result of Mayor Berry’s lack of action regarding the out of control abortion industry and his very own city. Mayor Berry as well as our self proclamined pro-life Governor Susana Martinez have not lifted one finger to save even one preborn child’s life but instead allow children to be subjected to the brutal action the images we use capture. Instead of trying to silence and trample on our First Amendment constitutional rights, Mayor Berry should work on removing Albuquerque’s shameful reputation of being the late term abortion capital of the nation. Instead of siding with pro-choice interests he should work to fulfill the responsibilities that his constituents elected him to fulfill.”

Shaver is referring to the late term abortion facility operated by abortionist Curtis Boyd. Protest ABQ recently accused Boyd’s Southwestern Women’s Options of possibly being involved in gruesome baby parts harvesting operations.

While the media has been all over this story they refuse to show the public the truth of what abortion looks like. And now, thanks to this Mayor they are focusing more on the images than on the kids that are being slaughtered by abortion.

Meanwhile, the pro-abortion council hopeful called the tactic intimidation adding, “I don’t believe for a minute that city hall has any business getting between a woman and her doctor on medical issues, so we’ll just have to agree to disagree.”

Davis complained about the protest on his Facebook page, writing:

For the second day in a row, my neighbors (and their kids) have endured these protests because I don’t believe city council has any business getting between a woman and her doctor.

“Everyone has a right to participate in the political process, but this is unnecessary. Help me send a message by voting early (open now!) and volunteering to turn out our neighbors to vote.”

While a few people liked the post and approved of Davis’ pro-abortion position, one reasonable resident asked him a pointed question, writing,”Reality is gruesome to look at sometimes. Why are the images of what is going on more offensive than the actual activities?”

The trucks are not the only way ProtestABQ is getting out the message that Pat Davis is pro-abortion.

Earlier this month, they sent Albuquerque residents graphic mailers also exposing Davis’ abortion positions.

The message read:

Pat Davis: Too extreme for City Council District 6, and you can expect more of this if he’s elected.
    Davis champions this…

Pat Davis ABQ abortion mailer

According to Bud Shaver, the mailer was meant to be graphic because, as the mailer states:

While Davis claims to be “progressive” he really champions archaic practices such a late-term abortion. Davis will not bring progress to ABQ but instead, he will ensure that barbaric late-term abortions will continue in our city.

A vote for Pat Davis is a vote against the women and children of Albuquerque.

The residents of Albuquerque deserve to know where aspiring politicians stand on pre-born child killing,” Shaver added.

The election will be held October 6th.

Protest ABQ has worked tirelessly in New Mexico to close the infamous Southwestern Women’s Options late term abortion facility operated by abortionist Curtis Boyd. They have also worked to pass strict abortion laws educating the public with truth trucks that show what abortion does to unborn babies.

Did late term abortion campaign trigger pipe bomb attack by pro-choicers?

FBI Investigates pipe bomb explosion near ‪#‎prolife‬ sign shop

A pipe bomb at an Albuquerque strip mall in November has sparked an FBI investigation.

APD says the pipe bomb was attached to the gas main of Fastsigns on Eubank when it detonated a week before the abortion vote.

According to the APD Bomb Squad, it had been programmed to explode at that time.

When they discovered the sign shop had been hired to print anti-abortion campaign posters, they called in the feds.

In what could have been a disastrous explosion, it did only minimal damage.

The director of the ABQ Voters for Late Term Abortion Ban says the time and place of the explosion is no coincidence.

She says it’s possible that someone thought the address printed on all their signs was their campaign headquarters.

“It’s really scary to think people will go to such lengths, especially when we’re following the process of the City Charter and doing everything legally and lawfully,” said Tara Shaver, who also works for Project Defending Life.

Shaver says the FBI has never contacted her about the incident.

The FBI said it’s still investigating.

A spokesperson for the FBI says they don’t think it had anything to do with the abortion vote but wouldn’t elaborate.

But- reports revealed that pro-lifers were targeted by pro-abortion forces during their campaign.

The campaign website for a pro-life group was hacked.

Emails meant to go to the pro-life PAC ABQ Voters For Late Term Abortion Ban was redirected to the abortion-supporting group Respect ABQ Women, which is opposing the Ordinance.

The ABQ Voters for Late Term Abortion Ban campaign filed complaints with the FBI.

The Pain Capable ordinance, was the first of its kind to be proposed at the municipal level and would have banned abortions after 20 weeks within the Albuquerque city limits, where the largest late-term abortion clinic in the nation currently operates. The campaign has received national attention.

That clinic is owned by Late term abortionist Curtis Boyd who once admitted he was killing.

Pro-choice man threatens to shoot pro-lifers, swat called to abortion clinic

On the facebook page of Bud Shaver he writes, “This guy threatened to “put a bullet in your head, if you talk to her.” The police responded appropriately and took him away in handcuffs. They cleared Boyd’s clinic to search for the gun (SWAT style). Everyone including staff had to come out with their hands up. We have had a lot of threats on our lives. It is great the police are starting to take these threats seriously. The pro-aborts are truly the violent ones. It is time people started realizing that! Man Arrested After Threatening To Gun Down Pro-life Activists At Late-Term Abortion Clinic
• Written by Operation Rescue

Albuquerque, NM – A man was arrested Saturday, August 28, outside Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion clinic operated by Curtis Boyd in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after he threatened to shoot two pro-life women who were offering help to abortion-bound women.

The unidentified man and his wife were escorting their daughter into the abortion clinic when the wife and daughter walked over to the pro-life women to discuss alternatives to abortion. The man became angry and ushered his family members toward the clinic.

“When we come out, I’m going to put a bullet in your head if you talk to her,” the man told the pro-life women, whose identities are being withheld for their security.
Witnesses said that the man then lifted his shirt to show the women a dark object that was partially tucked into his trousers. The women recognized the object as a gun and called the police.

“The police responded appropriately and took him away in handcuffs,” said former Operation Rescue intern Bud Shaver, who arrived on the scene in time to witness the arrest and the clearing of the clinic by police.

“They cleared Boyd’s clinic to search for the gun SWAT style. Everyone, including staff, had to come out with their hands up.”

The area was cordoned off and the clinic was closed to patients for nearly two hours while police conducted their investigation.

It is currently unknown if a gun was recovered by police or what charges were brought against the man.

Death threats against pro-lifers have been viewed with greater concern in the wake of the shooting death of activist Jim Pouillon of Owosso, Michigan, who was gunned down last year as he held a pro-life sign outside a local high school. The killer admitted that he murdered Pouillon because he did not agree with his public abortion protests.

Shaver told Operation Rescue that he has been threatened a number of times since he has been in Albuquerque, but the police never responded in the way they did on Saturday.

“We are thankful that no one was injured and that the police took appropriate action,” said Newman. “Violence against pro-lifers has become something that we have to guard against every day. Those who reach out to women in front of abortion clinics should not be afraid to continue to do so, but should always have security and an awareness of their surroundings in mind.”

Late-term Abortionists Dump Kansas Licenses, Will Avoid Discipline

Albuquerque, NM – Two Albuquerque late-term abortionists who worked for George Tiller’s Women’s Health Care Services in Wichita, Kansas, before it permanently closed last year have dumped their Kansas medical licenses, placing them outside the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.

Abortionist Shelley Sella cancelled her Kansas license the same week that the KSBHA notified Operation Rescue that an eleven-count disciplinary petition had been filed against Ann Kristin Neuhaus, who provided improper late-term abortion referrals to Tiller’s abortion business. The petition was based on a complaint made by an Operation Rescue staff member.

Susan C. Robinson voluntarily put her Kansas license on “Inactive” status a month after WHCS closed. At that time of the closure, Tiller also faced an eleven-count disciplinary petition filed by the KSBHA for illegal late-term abortions referred to him by Neuhaus. The KSBHA closed the case only because of his death in May, 2009.

“The move to voluntarily terminate their medical licenses in Kansas puts Sella and Robinson outside the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “That action says a lot about their legitimate concerns that they could also have faced discipline for abortion abuses in which they may have participated while in Kansas.”

Both abortionists are now operating in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion mill operated by former back-alley abortionist Curtis Boyd. Boyd boasts of having done thousands of criminal abortions prior to Roe v. Wade and acknowledges that he is aware that he is killing by doing abortions.

Last month, Operation Rescue was notified that the KSBHA had filed a disciplinary petition against Neuhaus for improper late-term abortion referrals to Tiller’s clinic.

Without the referrals, WHCS would have been barred from doing the more financially lucrative abortions past viability. Abortionists who benefited from Neuhaus’ improper referrals included Tiller, Sella, Robinson, and Nebraska abortionist LeRoy Carhart.

Carhart alone maintains a current Kansas medical license. He remains under investigation in Nebraska after several clinic workers came forward and provided affidavits detailing abortion abuses and illegal activity they witnessed while in Carhart’s employment at his run-down mill in Bellevue, Nebraska. His efforts to open a late-term abortion clinic in Kansas after the closure of WHCS were blocked by Operation Rescue.

“The people of New Mexico, where Sella and Robinson have relocated, need to be aware that these two have a history of shady abortion practices. Sella, Robinson, and their new employer, Curtis Boyd, all have flouted the law and placed the lives of women at risk,” said Newman. “Sella and Robinson’s recent efforts to place themselves outside of the disciplinary jurisdiction of Kansas show they are defiant and are unwilling to amend their ways or submit to justice. Their above-the-law attitude is a dangerous one that could cost women their lives.”

Operation Rescue has deployed a Truth Truck to Albuquerque to help expose dangerous late-term abortions there and help women make decisions to save the lives of their babies.

Former Tiller Abortionists Make Albuquerque the New Late-Term Abortion Capital

FROM: Operation Rescue,

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., March 17 /Christian Newswire/ — Two women who once specialized in post-viability abortions during their employment at George Tiller’s now closed abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas, have set up shop in an existing abortion clinic owned and operated by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd where they are offering lucrative late-term abortions.

“We knew about this arrangement well before the LA Times printed their story on Tuesday, and have been in contact with local pro-life leaders in Albuquerque to offer what assistance we can to their efforts to expose the horrific nature of late-term abortions and pray for those involved,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We plan to open a satellite office in Albuquerque that will be directed from our headquarters in Wichita.”

One former Tiller abortionist now in Albuquerque is Shelley Sella, a self-proclaimed lesbian from the Oakland, California, area who was once accused by former abortion nurse Tina David of delivering a live baby at 35 weeks gestation, then stabbing the moving baby in the ribcage until he died. Tina David told Operation Rescue about the incident because she said she wanted to clear her conscience. Operation Rescue reported the alleged murder to the police, but David recanted under police questioning after having been in contact with other Tiller employees. She told reporters, “I don’t want to get involved.” (Listen to the eyewitness account.)

Another former Tiller abortionist now working for Boyd is Susan Robinson, who lists her address on her newly minted New Mexico medical license as the office of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Fresno, California.

“New Mexico is among the most liberal as far as abortion laws, and has little in the way of requirements to hold abortionists accountable. That is probably why they set up shop there instead of Kansas, Texas, or Nebraska where the laws would make such abortions more difficult or impossible,” said Newman.

“Unfortunately, the more liberal the laws, the more the lives and health of women are put at risk because of the lack of standards and accountability. In addition, the later abortions carry with them higher risks to the woman’s life and health. Those two factors make Boyd’s late-term abortion operation in New Mexico a recipe for disaster.”

The owner of the clinic, Curtis Boyd, admits he did illegal abortions before Roe v. Wade and shocked America by confessing to a Dallas television reporter that he believes that abortion is killing. Boyd is a backslidden Baptist minister who now identifies with the apostate Unitarian Universalist “Church”.

“We are committed to peaceful and legal activity to bring abortion to an end, not just in Albuquerque, but throughout the nation,” said Newman. “As long as abortionists kill babies, we will work to save them.”
