Black Pastor Resigns From NAACP Over Same-Sex Marriage

The NAACP’s recent announcement supporting President Obama’s position on same-sex marriage has led to the resignation of one of its leaders.
The Rev. Keith Ratliff, who serves as president of the NAACP’s Iowa-Nebraska conference and also pastors Maple Street Missionary Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa, said in a statement that he was leaving “due to the NAACP’s position and support of same-sex marriage.”
“I want to thank the NAACP for the privilege to humbly serve in such an organization and thank all those I had the privilege to work with in the states of Iowa, Nebraska and throughout the country,” said Ratliff in a statement released on Wednesday.
Ratliff told The Des Moines Register last month that he was praying over his decision after the national board of directors endorsed the president’s position. Obama had announced last month that he believes same-sex couples should be able to get married.
The Christian Post attempted to contact the national NAACP office for a comment but did not receive a response prior to publication.
While the NAACP’s support of President Obama’s evolved position on same-sex marriage was issued in late May, the group’s board of directors had voted earlier this year to support what some gay activists call “marriage equality.”

In 1983– A study conducted in Waller County , Texas, which had a 52% Black population rate, The study found that a substantial percentage of the respondents indicated agreement with each of the following genocidal statements:
1. As the need for cheep labor goes down, there will be efforts to reduce the size of the Black population; (69.5% agreed)
2. As Blacks become more militant, there will be efforts to reduce the size of the Black Population; (62.6% agreed),
3. Survival of Black people depends on increasing the number of Black births; (55.8% agreed)
4. Birth control programs are a plot to eliminate Blacks; (45.3% agreed)
5. Abortions are a plot to eliminate Blacks. (42.6% agreed)

The findings reveal that fears of genocide were present among Blacks as late as 1984 and today those fears are a reality !
In North Carolina….it has been revealed that the state under a Eugenics Program sterilized thousands of blacks.
WINFALL, N.C. (AP) – Elaine Riddick was one victim of the state’s Eugenics sterilization program….In a meeting requesting compensation Riddick asks, “So what am I worth? The kids that I did not have, COULD not have. What are THEY worth?”
Elaine Riddick has been asking these same questions, in one forum or another, for the past 40 years. This most recent appearance in late June was before the Governor’s Task Force to Determine the Method of Compensation for Victims of North Carolina’s Eugenics Board.
As far as Riddick is concerned, she tells the panel, she was raped twice. Once by the man who fathered her son, and again by the Eugenics Board of the State of North Carolina, which deemed her, at age 14, unfit to procreate.
“I am NOT feebleminded,” she shouts, turning to face the packed hearing room. “I’ve never BEEN feebleminded.”
After years of telling and re-telling her story, Sterilization victim, Elaine Riddick continues to plead with the state of North Carolina to take responsibility for what they did to her through their Eugenics Programs.
“They cut me open like I was a hog,” said Elaine Riddick, who was sterilized at age 14. “I didn’t even know nothing about this stuff.”
Riddick, now 57, said her only crime was being poor, BLACK, and from a bad home environment.

Clarence Gamble a supporter and funder of the founder of Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger… funded the North Carolina Eugenics Society which sterilized this woman and many black women as well. Click Here : Clarence Gamble.
Gamble also supported Margaret Sanger’s Birth Control Movement. Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood and she had many of her board members and presidents were members of the American Eugenics Society.
According to the North Carolina Winston-Salem Journal, “Clarence Gamble who helped found the Human Betterment League of North Carolina in 1947 did so to promote eugenic sterilization. Journal research shows a long history of abuses in the N.C. sterilization program – abuses that Gamble consistently glossed over..” Gamble wanted sterilizations to increase rather than decrease, and increase they did.
Think the targeting of blacks for sterilization was coincidence? Just like they way they are targeted today for abortion??? Think again:

The minister’s work is also important and also he should be trained, perhaps by the Federation [of Eugenicists] as to our ideals and the goal that we hope to reach. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” that plan was called “The NEGRO Project”.

Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, was a member in good standing with the racist American Eugenics Society. Sanger had board members who were known for their racist writing and Sanger published many of those in her publications. Sanger called for parents to have a QUOTE: LICENSE TO BREED controlled by people who believed in her eugenic philosophy. She wanted all would be parents to go before her eugenic boards to request a “PERMIT TO BREED“.
Margaret Sanger once said, “More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12
Planned Parenthood’s top award is called the Margaret Sanger Award, despite the fact that Sanger was an admitted Klan speaker. This is what Sanger wrote in her autobiography, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. NOW… in a public letter requesting compensation for Riddick and the other eugenics victims, the North Carolina NAACP Has stepped up to take their defense: ( The following letter was sent to Gov. Bev Perdue, NC Speaker of the House Thom Tillis and State Sen. Floyd McKissick, chairman of the Black Legislative Caucus.)
Dear Governor Perdue, Speaker Tillis and Distinguished Leaders of North Carolina:
The North Carolina State Conference of the NAACP through the Women in the NAACP would like to express our support for the NC Justice for Sterilization Victims Foundation, Eugenics Task Force and victims of the North Carolina Eugenics Board. We are very pleased that The Task Force has been actively working to address this ugly chapter in North Carolina’s history which resulted in the forcible sterilization of many of our citizens, many of whom were poor and minority.
The NC NAACP, with our 110-plus HKonJ partners, addressed the issue of wrongful sterilization with the adoption of the coalition’s 14-point agenda. Since that time, obtaining compensation for the victims of the forcible sterilization program has been a mainstay of our agenda.
Ten years have passed since the state offered a formal apology to victims of the involuntary sterilizations in 2001. Time is precious for the surviving victims, and we need to move forward to assist these individuals. We ask that the task force and our state leaders quickly move forward in authorizing compensation to individual victims as soon as possible.
While we understand a figure for compensation has been proposed, we ask that the victims be compensated at the highest amount that our moral conscience and justice demands. These victims have suffered for years, in some cases enduring immense physical and psychological distress.
You heard many of the heart-breaking stories during the testimony this summer by several of the victims who were brave and strong enough to share their hurt in a public forum. The time has come for the state to right this horrible wrong and fulfill its promise to these citizens who have suffered long enough.
We are calling on you to seek out more victims, support the payment of restitution for the sterilization victims and assist in moving the compensation process forward immediately with the goal of having the payments made by the end of the year.

As admirable as it is, the NAACP ( National) recently seems to take the very side of those who supported , funded, and advocated the forced sterilization of the “Unfit” and “Feebleminded” through Eugenics. Case in point is their undying support for abortion and Planned Parenthood whose founders and past Presidents not only founded the American Eugenics Society, but implemented many of their racist and forced sterilization efforts. NEVER NEVER FORGET WHAT THESE EUGENICS PEOPLE DID:
Lela Mae Moore Dunston lives in Raleigh, just a few miles away from where a board of men and women she’d never met voted to have her sterilized in March of 1963.
She was 13, living with her mother in Wilmington, and pregnant with her first child. It would be the only child the state would allow her to have.
Dunston, who was termed “mildly retarded” as the justification for sterilization, says she is not mentally handicapped and is one of a growing number of sterilization victims demanding that the state compensate them. Their mental evaluations were often based on flawed intelligence testing. Others were sterilized for reasons including epilepsy, blindness or rumors of promiscuity.
Many of these victims have read the petitions for sterilizations that social workers wrote about them. Often, they contain more racism and class prejudice than hard facts. The petition to sterilize Dunston says that she and her mother “live in an area that has a low socio-economic level.” Dunston is described as “a rather alert little Negro girl” who “wore a very ragged sweater and her hair literally stood on end all over her head.”
That was “a bunch of baloney,” Dunston said.
In the early 1960s, as Gov. Terry Sanford was leading North Carolina through integration, the sterilization program, which operated beneath the radar, began targeting black women of modest means. Sometimes, the petitions contained outright lies, as in this line from Dunston’s: “Both the mother and Lela Mae understand that sterilization will result in Lela Mae not being able to reproduce and both seem happy with this.”
Dunston said she didn’t know what the operation was about. “I was only 13,” Dunston said. “Thirteen years old you don’t know nothing about this kind of mess. You’re a child yourself.”
Here is a sample of what the Eugenics Victims have said:
Elaine Riddick: “I have to get out what the state of North Carolina did to me. I am not feeble minded. I’ve never been feeble minded. They slandered me. They ridiculed and harassed me. They cut me open like I was a hog, My body was too young for what they did to me. I had to have a child at the age of 14. When I had my son, at the same time they took my child in cesarean and then did that to me. What do you think I’m worth? … I’ve never had nobody to take care of me. I’ve had to do this all by myself. I never had anyone give me anything. I had to pick my own self up…What am I worth? The kids I didn’t have. Couldn’t have. What are they worth?”
Tony Riddick added, “You harmed my mother and killed her womb . When u look forward – It’s genocide – premeditated murder – you deserve to be punished….This is sinister. I know I don’t have the power to bring justice myself….We say we are a nation that’s concerned and compassionate and these victims have not been compensated yet. For my mother, it’s been 43 years…God will hold you accountable for what you have done to my mom.”
“This right here is a good example of what God is capable of doing.My mother’s life and my life, by ANY measure, would have been, should have been, COULD have been totally written off.”

“I can’t have no babies…They told me to sign papers. I didn’t sign papers. That was not my signature on these papers…I need a reward or something…some kind of compensation for all they put me through. I wanted more children. I wouldn’t have minded having a daughter. Maybe two, maybe three.”

“Every victim that went through any of this victimization was a guinea pig. A science guinea pig. It was bogus medicine. Bogus science…This is North Carolina’s holocaust. We need a wall. We need a library. My mother needs her name and picture in a library room.”

Some history of when the Black Leadership DID Oppose the Planned Parenthood/ Pro-Eugenics Crowd:
On June 11,1970, The Black Caucus issued a statement of withdraw from the First National Congress on Optimum Population and Environment, It read: “ The Black Caucus has withdrawn from the First National Congress on Optimum Population and Environment because of unmistakably clear evidence that the purpose of this conference is to use these delegates invited to legitimize a preconceived vicious plan of extermination. This plan is one of systematic reduction of a specific population, namely Blacks, other non-whites, the American poor and certain non-white and ethnic immigrants.” The statement was presented to a Press Conference by Felton Alexander, National Urban League and chairman of the Black Caucus and Dr. Alyce Gullattee, Psychiatrist from Washington D.C. The birth control pill was introduced at a time when scientists such as Arthur Jensen and William Shockley were promoting genetic explanations of racial differences in intelligence-test scores. During the 1960s and 1970s, thousands of poor black women were coercively sterilized under federally funded programs. Women were threatened with termination of welfare benefits or denial of medical care if they didn’t “consent” to the procedure. Southern blacks claimed that black women were routinely sterilized without their consent and for no valid medical reason—a practice so widespread it was called a “Mississippi appendectomy.” Teaching hospitals in the North also performed unnecessary hysterectomies on poor black women as practice for their medical residents. During this period, state legislators considered a rash of punitive sterilization bills aimed at the growing number of blacks receiving public assistance. .. Black concerns about family planning had arisen decades earlier during Margaret Sanger’s crusade for birth control. As Sanger allied herself with the burgeoning eugenics movement, the call for birth control veered away from its radical, feminist origins to include programs to regulate the poor, immigrants and blacks, based on theories of genetic inferiority and social degeneracy. Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger admitted in her autobiography of giving a speech to enthusiastic to the KLAN that she received an addition dozen invitations to speak to the, Sanger was a member of the RACIST American Eugenics Society, she hung around racists, allowed them to be published in her Birth Control Review – and today Planned Parenthood names their TOP AWARD after Margaret Sanger-the racist….the NAACP, has NEVER called for Planned Parenthood to remove Sanger from that organization. Today Planned Parenthood abortion clinics kill more black children than all other top causes of death combined !
Dr. Alan Frank Guttmacher, president of the ‘Planned Parenthood World Population Federation’, and former VP of the American Eugenics Society attended the session on the family and specified the real differential between white and non-white fertility rates. He made what appears to be a flippant comment that nevertheless, reflected his worries about the ‘wrong’ people having too many children: “You can’t make a person take contraception. 1965– At the White House Conference on Civil Rights sponsored by Lyndon Johnson, Cecil Moore made this attack on population control, “ And I have noticed that every time that we talk about population and planned parenthood, the only country I find that wants to limit poverty by limiting the poor- they always want to do it in Africa and South America and Asia , but I never heard them talk about doing it in Paris or England. 1968– William “Bouie” Haden and other Negro militants have accused the [ Planned Parenthood] clinic of propagating “black genocide.” It is operated by Planned Parenthood, a nonprofit international family planning agency…”The idea,” says Dr. Charles E. Greenlee, a Negro physician and a member of Haden’s group, “is to make less niggers so they won’t have to build houses for them.” Greenlee is chairman of the Health Committee is the Pittsburgh branch of the NAACP On December 4th of Last Year, He and Pittsburgh NAACP President, Byrd Brown , a Negro attorney, charged at a news conference that Planned Parenthood was keeping the Negro birth rate down. Greenlee and Brown also charged that the clinics were a not sanitary and lacked privacy. They said the agency was soliciting Negro women to take the Pill. Planned Parenthood denied the charges. 1970– Julian Bond, in a commencement speech at Syracuse University. Bond had become the director of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, which he helped found. At the time of the speech, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Southern Conference Education Fund, of the Advisory Board of the proposed Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library, and of the Executive Committee of the Atlanta NAACP. Bond suggested that the intense interest in the ‘population bomb” could lead to genocide of black Americans and other poor people. Bond begins, ”If Mother Nature don’t get you, then Father Time will.” Now Dr. Ehrlich hastens to assure us that in spite of the fact that some of the white people who are talking up population control do mean population control of blacks, or the poor, or the Indians, like most racist plots this one is incompetent. …Do we, as black people, have legitimate cause for alarm? Has genocide ever been tried before? Yes it has. Has the United States government demonstrated its commitment to the defense of the interests of Black people? It has not.
