CPS pressuring child to have abortion after rape says pro-life rape victim advocate

The abortion debate in America always comes around to the so-called “hard cases” of rape, incest and life of the mother.

This blog post details one of those cases and one pro-life group says the unborn child’s life should be protected even if the rape victim is also a child.

Last month, 20-year-old Justin Roshud Smith was arrested on suspicion of rape and endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to Wynne police Smith allegedly impregnated the 10-year-old daughter of his girlfriend and has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor.

But, according to a pro-life group out of Houston, the girl is being pressured to have an abortion and they are speaking out.

Juda Myers, founder of Choices4Life said she flew out to Arkansas hoping to meet with the mother of the child. She said the mother requested her help before the scheduled abortion on the 11th of this month.

As an advocate for women who have been raped and the rape-conceived Myers opposes abortion targeted at those who are victims of rape.

“I spoke with the girl’s mother,” Myers said, describing her as distraught.

The alleged rapist was the mother’s boyfriend and as a result she has had all her children taken from her.

Myers believes that the state’s Child Protective Services pressured the mother of the 10-year-old to sign papers giving permission to CPS have her unborn grandchild aborted.

“This mother is clearly against abortion with seven children and currently 7 months pregnant. Her daughter is being pushed along in what seems to be a systematic agenda to 1. eliminate the rape conceived 2. push another black mother to kill her baby. In the first hours of our conversation, the mother of the 10-year-old said she didn’t want her daughter to have an abortion but the daughter wanted “a DNC.” What does a 10-year-old know about a D & C? “

Myers said she contacted the agency to let them know that Choices4Life had emotional support services that could help the family in making their decision, including speaking with an 11-year-old rape victim who had her baby recently.

“I called Marva Walker of CPS Wynne, AR and tried to offer services to help this young girl. CHOICES4LIFE is a non profit specifically helping rape victims pregnant or raising those children. The organization has helped many females ages 10 to 42. Most recently a 10-year-old pregnant from rape who turned 11 before giving birth is doing fantastic.

“What I received was what sounded like a recording “I’m not able to tell you if I’m working with _____(the girl’s name)because of confidentiality.” To which I replied, “Yes ma’am I understand that and you do not have to tell me because I already know. All I want to do is offer help to the girl and connect her with another 11-year-old who can help her. We have many others who have been through this. We offer emotional support as well as financial support.” Ms. Walker repeated her statement word for word to which I kindly repeated myself also. This continued for four times until the CPS worker said, “Ok give me your information.” She was cold and demonstrated no intentions of delivering the information to the girl.”

Myers said that when she first had contact with the girl’s mother, who is pregnant herself, she expressed a desire to save her grandchild. But, Myers reports, she seemed to have a change of heart texting her, “I know they are railroading me to keep my children I really need some help.”

Adding that she fears never getting her 7 children back if she didn’t sign the papers for the abortion, “I’m not about to make her birth a child that could possibly kill her trying to have (it) so it would help me keep my children,” Myers reported that the mother told her.

“It is extremely sad that a grandmother’s only “choice” is whether she give up her children or her grandbaby,” Myers said.

“She chose the grandbaby that she hasn’t seen and held and loved yet. It’s ironic that the mother of the 10-year-old is carrying a child for the same man that the 10-year-old is carrying. But one lives and the other is put to death.”

Myers believes that the only “option” being presented to the little girl is abortion.

“She hasn’t been given any choice to talk to someone who was in exactly the same position – pregnant after rape. What would most 10-year-olds do scared and taken from their family? The 10-year-old is with strangers telling her their desires for her to abort. They tell her that DNA could be taken to prosecute the rapist. And who wouldn’t want the rapist punished? But what the little girl doesn’t know is that she doesn’t have to kill her baby to get DNA. Sounds like there really hasn’t been any kind of choice for this young girl. Have you ever talked to a 10 year old girl? They are easily influenced and do not know what questions to ask. She won’t know there are other choices besides abortion. And when she is grown she may feel as many others whose mothers did not protect them from abortion,” she said.

Myers said that all too often the child of the rapist is looked at with disdain even though they are also the child of the victim. Myers, who was conceived in rape herself, has several testimonies from rape victims who kept their babies and refused to have an abortion.

“Sadly an innocent baby in the womb of a 10-year-old will not be given the same privilege as a sexual predator. He will continue to live but the baby is sentenced to death without a trial, without a word spoken, without any dignity,” Myers said.

If found guilty of the rape charge, Smith could be sentenced to a minimum of 25 years in prison.

Monica Kelsey, who was also conceived in rape and speaks on behalf of women and children, has called for prayer for the victim, “please pray for this young girl as she needs an army of prayers right now to help pull her through this. If she has the abortion or not she is going to need all of us praying for her to save her life from a lifetime of pain!” she wrote on her Facebook page.
