Why Planned Parenthood is dubbed the ‘abortion giant’

Planned Parenthood has been dubbed the abortion giant for good reason.

Stats show that they perform the majority of abortions of any one abortion clinic chain and they receive federal tax dollars doing it.

Between 2000 and 2010- the Center for Disease Control reported 9,122,134 abortions were performed in the United States.

Although this number may not reflect all abortions performed in the United States it is one of the accepted stats for abortion numbers.

For those same years (2000 – 2010) Planned Parenthood reported performing 2,298,621 abortions.

Although we do not know for certain if the CDC figures include all Planned Parenthood abortions, we can conclude that Planned Parenthood’s abortion numbers equal more than 25% of all abortions reported to the CDC in the last 10 years.

Planned Parenthood likes to say that abortion is only a small percentage of what they do. However, if you look at their stats and compare them to abortions nationwide, we see that they are indeed the abortion giant of the USA.

I have included a breakdown below of how many abortions Planned Parentood has reported performing over the past ten years.

For clarification, I am using stats reported by Planned Parenthood for “abortion procedures.” However, emergency contraception, which can kill the unborn child before implantation is also viewed by the pro-life community as abortive and is not included in these stats.
