USAID, Gates, Planned Parenthood descend on Nigeria for Family Planning Conference

Posted in African Countries, African Nations with tags , , , , , , on December 9, 2014 by saynsumthn

BY Obianuju Ekeocha

A “Family Planning” conference just concluded in Abuja, the capital of my country. What I find most remarkable about it is that this one conference attracted 11 very wealthy, and mostly western sponsors — DFID, USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, UNFPA etc.

Very wealthy and indeed very Western!

Any one of them could have single-handedly sponsored a conference in any part of the world, but to have 11 of these giants gather for one little conference in Nigeria is worth careful consideration.

Alongside these sponsors were also about 25 powerful organizations listed as the “corporate partners/planning committee” of the conference. These included major organizations well known in Europe and America for their single-minded radical pro-abortion and anti-life stance. These included International Planned Parenthood Federation, Marie Stopes International, Ipas, Pathfinder and many others.

( NOTE: I have blogged about each of these orgs, look in under this blog’s categories for more details on how they promote eugenics)

Obianuju Ekeocha responded, “I appeal passionately to my people: Do not fall for the lies of misguided western ideologues! Instead, let us together as a people reconsider carefully and reflect deeply on the true meaning, purpose and implications of “family planning.” For this, we do not need wealthy sponsors, donors, partners and planners who have emerged from a broken world where the sanctity of human life is denied, where the law allows for the killing of the unborn, where sex outside of marriage has been normalized, where the divorce rates are staggering and the suicide rates incredibly high.

“These marks of failure are etched on the faces of the same people bringing us the unsolicited gift of “family planning.”

“If we are truly wise, we should not give them access to our intimate lives, our precious families, our innocent children and our cherished women.

“We may be poor but we have our dignity. So let us not fail or fall for what the 21st century cultural imperialists have surreptitiously labelled “family planning” or falsely imagined to be the most “unmet need” of Africa. !”

Depo-Provera dangers in Eugenics

In June 2013, Rebecca Project for Human Rights published a policy report: Depo-Provera: Deadly Reproductive Violence. Kwame Fosu, Policy Director for the Rebecca Project for Human Rights explains, “this is a definitive report that details incidents of misconduct by Pfizer major health providers.” In addition, the Rebecca Project analysis also examines reported concerns of Depo Provera research in Ghana.

Pastor Lennox Abrigo, who is President, National Action Network DC Chapter, and President of the Civil & Human Rights Depo Provera Coalition said, “this Depo Provera briefing is going to be a respectful, thoughtful discussion about the dignity and health of Black women, and women of color, in the United States and globally. Our community’s harm and voices have to be heard by our elected leaders, Pfizer, Planned Parenthood and all Public Health institutions that continue to promote this dangerous drug without Black Box warnings.”

According to the report:

The governmental imprimatur is supplied by the pro-Depo Provera policies of the USAID. This policy provides the cover for private foundation money, and our government policy is influenced and advocated by the Population Council, Planned Parenthood and population control advocates, ostensibly advocating for a woman’s right to choose. To
administer Depo Provera injections, especially if one is receiving federal funding, Medicaid and USAID payments, without enforcing full information requirements about side-effects and harm, robs millions of women of their dignity and fundamental civil rights, denying them of their inalienable right to be free to reject a dangerous drug and choose safer contraceptives. BMGF, Planned Parenthood, Pfizer and Depo Provera advocates constructively arrogate to themselves a separate standard of regulatory oversight. They illegally promote and administer Depo Provera by concealing its danger, minimizing fatal harm to women and making false claims with impunity. They are legally required to disclose side effects of Depo Provera and other drugs with Black Box warnings to patients/consumers.

In 2004, the FDA identifying that Depo Provera causes serious side-effects8 issued a Black Box Warning.

UNETHICAL DEPO PROVERA EXPERIMENTS
UNITED STATES:
1967-1978: The largest test on humans of Depo-Provera begins and is conducted for eleven years through the Grady Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia on 14,000 low income women. These “trials” were conducted on women human subjects without being aware of the fact that they were part of an experiment; and, the researchers deliberately did not inform the women participants that Depo Provera had grave side effects. Many women developed cancer and/or died during the trials, but these cases were not reported to the FDA.

The director of the study, Robert Hatcher, further violated the law refusing to submit an annual report during the entire study. Women with medical conditions, such as cancer, were still given the shot. Record keeping on the clients was sloppy and more than 13,000 women had no follow-up44 (Committee on Women, Population, & the Environment).
GHANA:

The African continent has been a theater for unregulated, unethical human experimentation and turpitudinous malpractice, without informed consent forms (sample) normally provided to American women. In a seminal family planning experiment, discussed in the Rebecca Project Human Rights’ 2011 report: The Outsourcing of Tuskegee:
Nonconsensual Research in Africa46, researchers experimented with Depo Provera on approximately 9,000 impoverished women in Navrongo, Ghana. The Navrongo Experiment47 occurred in Navrongo, Ghana (1999-2006, Funded by: USAID/Population Council/Rockefeller Foundation). Dr. James Phillips and Population Council researchers violated US research laws by withholding informed consent forms from the women they used as human subjects and injected with Depo Provera. The African women in Navrongo were told they were being provided with routine healthcare, while data was specifically collected and analyzed for the research experiment and published by Dr. James Phillips et al.

Furthermore, the Navrongo Experiment was designed by Dr. James Phillips who deliberately fabricated and falsified research data for desired outcomes. Phillips co-published with Dr. Binka and other compensated Ghanaian doctors who are knowledgeable and/or complicit in this fraud.

Presently, Dr. Phillips serves on the faculty of the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and his research fraud spans from Africa to Southern Asia. The problem with Columbia University and USAID supporting Phillips’ extensive research fraud in Africa is, as with the Tuskegee Experiment (conducted by Dr. John Cutler with the United States Public Health Service- PHS), and the Guatemala Experiment51 (also Dr. John Cutler with PHS), is that Dr. Phillips’ fraudulent Navrongo research is routinely referenced in UN and US documents as valid family-planning policy. USAID is fully aware that informed consent was not provided (the Rebecca Project provided details to the DHHS, DOJ, and USAID) and that violates US ethical research IRB procedures52 and international law. Fabricated research outcomes and unethical experiments should not be referenced in official US policy. U.S. drug companies and U.S. researchers have effectively outsourced the Tuskegee Experiment and routinely conduct nonconsensual and/or unethical research in Africa and the developing world. Pfizer v. Abdullahi directly confronted the issue. In a July 2009 ruling, a U.S. Court of Appeals found that the prohibition of non-consensual medical experimentation on humans is binding under customary international law, thereby allowing Trovan victims in Nigeria the right to seek relief against Pfizer in U.S. courts. In June 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Pfizer’s appeal after the U.S. Acting Solicitor General, Neal Katyal, submitted his brief
urging the court to deny Pfizer’s petition.

Congressman William Lacy Clay and the Congressional Black Caucus held a briefing to examine a comprehensive report released by the Rebecca Project.

Panelists at the briefing called for an end to the federal funding of Depo Provera and for accountability for healthcare administers that fail to inform women of the “black box warning” issued by the drug’s manufacturer Pfizer.

Many foreign governments that fund Depo Provera for use in Africa now prohibit the unethical administering of the drug and require women have full knowledge of potential health risks prior to receiving the shot, however, according to the Rebecca Project the U.S. has yet to enforce such mandatory guidelines in their distribution of Depo Provera through overseas health contractors.

Even more egregious, USAID, Gates, Rockefeller and Mellon Foundations, and the Population Council funded a Depo Provera trial (1994-2006) on 9,000 poor women in Ghana without disclosing they were being used for a reproductive health experiment.

Long before Depo Provera received FDA approval in the U.S. – USAID directed funding overseas for its use on women in poor developing countries.

Depo Provera was denied FDA approval three times before the FDA approved the contraceptive for domestic use in 1992. This was after regulations were changed requiring clinical trials in rats and mice instead of the dogs and monkeys from previous tests that showed high frequency of cancer.

Despite calls from a coalition of Black religious leaders and human rights activists USAID and partners — the Gates Foundation, DFID, UNFPA, and PATH, continue to direct millions for the distribution of Depo Provera to poor women in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

Depo Provera side effects listed in the Rebecca Project report:

In 2004, the FDA identifying that Depo Provera causes serious side-effects issued a Black Box Warning stating: (1) women may lose significant bone mineral density that is not fully reversible and, therefore, (2) Depo Provera should not be used as a long-term birth control method for more than two years. Other serious side effects, with mandated Patient Counseling and Information are: (3) blood clots in arms, legs, lungs, and eyes, (4) stroke, (5) bleeding irregularities, (6) weight gain, (7) ectopic pregnancy, and (8) delayed return to fertility and lack of return to fertility. (9) In addition, scientific research in 2012 reported that women using Depo Provera have double the risk of developing breast cancer.

U.S. & U.K. Taxpayers Funding Forced Sterilization in India

U.S. & U.K. Taxpayers Funding Forced Sterilization in India Written

by Alex Newman

U.S. and British taxpayers are funding brutal forced sterilizations and a growing network of appalling “camps” in India through foreign-aid programs and even the World Bank, according to human rights activists and news reports. But as the scandal surrounding the controversial population-control campaign grows with an Indian Supreme Court investigation into the matter, governments are publicly distancing themselves from the program.

Citing dubious United Nations theories about “climate change,” population-reduction fanatics — especially in the West — have been working fiendishly around the world for decades to scale back the number of humans. Their methods include everything from promoting abortion and contraception to developing sterilization programs targeting poor women in particular. And the barbarity is largely being bankrolled by taxpayers and elite donors in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

According to recent reports, the foreign-aid “family planning” money is being used by Indian authorities to forcibly sterilize Indians using outright deception or even coercion. In some cases, authorities coerce families into consent by threatening to withhold food or other essentials. Sometimes the victims are bribed using Western tax money without being told what the procedures really accomplish — let alone the risks.

The consequences, meanwhile, have included numerous bleeding deaths from botched operations, miscarriages, infections, and long-term health problems for the victims, according to reports from around India. Generally poverty-stricken and under-educated people — who often hail from lower “castes” and do not even have a chance to object — are targeted for the barbaric treatment.

“I tell you they treat them not as human beings, but as cattle or goats,” Human Rights Law Network activist Devika Biswas told the National Catholic Register after filing a petition about the matter with the nation’s Supreme Court. “They just cut and take out veins. They were bleeding profusely. It is butchery.”

Last month, activists including Biswas submitted video evidence and sworn affidavits by victims showing that population-control officials were completely out of control. Consider, for example, the story of just one night at one sterilization camp in the Indian state of Bihar: More than 50 poor women were allegedly rounded up and sterilized in wildly unsanitary conditions by unqualified “medical staff.”

A video of the tragedy presented to the court showed all of the women crying out in pain after having been quickly sterilized that night by staff using a flashlight for illumination. Nobody came to help the writhing victims. One pregnant woman even lost her unborn baby to the procedure. The court gave state and national authorities two months to respond to the charges, according to news reports about the case.
“All of them are forced,” Biswas was quoted as saying. “Generally, the people in the village are very simple. They are very poor. Some of them married at the age of 12 or 13. They do not know what it means. They are told it will be good for them. They are not told it will make them permanently unable to bear children. No risks are explained to them.”

According to reports, a perverse system of incentives helps the system mass-sterilize countless victims. Doctors, for instance, are paid bonuses if they operate on more than a certain number of people per day. So-called “motivators,” who go out in search of hapless prey for the schemes, are also rewarded based on how many people they can round up for the procedures.

India, of course, has around 1.2 billion people; and that is despite a brutal and coercive mass-sterilization campaign from the 1970s that was only “halted” after massive riots broke out and forced the government to back down. But for Western elites convinced that people are bad — either for the “environment” or the “climate” — the number is still way too high.

“They’re using bad science, outdated theories of population and an unproven theory about climate change to justify real harm to real people in real time,” explained Population Research Institute chief Steven Mosher, noting that elitists have long used a wide range of largely bogus crises to justify barbaric eugenics campaigns around the world. And it is still going on today from Asia and Africa to Latin America – often with subsidies extracted from Western taxpayers at the behest of shadowy senior policy makers.

In the U.K., which once ruled over India as its colonial master, the Department for International Development (DFID) gave a grant totaling more than $250 million in 2005 to the so-called “Reproductive Child and Health Program.” The scheme was supposed to offer “family planning” services to Indian women – and sterilization is by far the most common “service” provided under the plan.

The U.K. government, of course, responded to the recent scandal over forced sterilizations by denying that taxpayers were funding it. “British aid has not been used for forced sterilization now or in the past,” a DFID spokesperson claimed in a recent statement, though an official with the department later told the Wall Street Journal that tax funds were indeed being used for “voluntary” sterilizations.
“The government of India has strict guidelines for quality of family-planning services, which include ensuring consent,” the statement alleged, apparently oblivious to the reality on the ground. “The program started in 2006 under the last government. Support will end completely next year.”

Though critics have said the population-control scheme smacks of racism and neo-colonialism, one of the project’s stated goals was to slash India’s fertility rate, supposedly to deal with “climate change.” And the program could be considered a stunning success — at least in terms of its designers’ goals.

According to a government report cited by the U.K. Guardian, some 500,000 Indians were sterilized in 2008 alone. Experts say the true figure is much higher. About half of India’s 26 state governments, meanwhile, have reportedly already achieved compliance with a controversial UN dictate seeking to restrict population to two children per mother. And a “National Family Health Survey” cited by the Global Post reported that some 37 percent of Indian women have undergone sterilization so far. The rest are apparently still in the crosshairs.

American taxpayers have also contributed to the controversial programs. In recent years, for example, the U.S. government distributed well over $20 million in taxpayer funds per year just to sponsor “family planning” and “reproductive health” programs in India. But like British officials, American authorities involved in the scheme attempted to downplay the growing scandal as well.
“USAID programs provide technical support to improve family planning information and services,” a spokesman for the agency was quoted as saying, alleging that the program was committed to improving the health of vulnerable Indians. “USAID assistance has helped improve maternal health and reduced infant mortality across India.”

Despite the platitudes about helping Indians, however, analysts say something much more sinister is going on. Consider the fact that at the highest levels of the Obama administration are people like “Science Czar” John Holdren, who suggested controlling population by forced abortions and secret drugging administered by a “planetary regime” in his highly controversial book “Ecoscience.”
Decades ago, senior officials were on the same page. Under the leadership of top establishment figure Henry Kissinger, for instance, the U.S. National Security Council outlined widely criticized official policies to curb population growth among the poor in the infamous “Memorandum 200.” Citing dubious theories about alleged overpopulation, the report proposed a massive global campaign that included propaganda, contraception, the use of food for coercion, and more. India was one of the top targets.

Like in Communist China, where the regime enforces a brutal “one-child policy” by forced abortion if necessary, India has a growing gender imbalance resulting in far more men than women. The consequences will be rough, according to experts. But Western elites — apparently undeterred by the tragedies and despair caused by the “population control” they promote at taxpayer expense — show no signs of scaling back support for the brutality.

It is interesting to me that an organization whose opponents accuse of generating Black Genocide thru abortion would be seeking donations to render “aid” to earthquake victims in Haiti.

In a letter sent to the Obama-Biden transition team, International Planned Parenthood congratulates President Obama on his win. IPPF then makes this request:
Restore Federal Funding to the United Nations Population Fund: (UNFPA) and Clarify USAID policy on abortion information and services.

From 1963-1966; Reimert Thorolf Ravenholt was the Director, Office of Population, U.S. Agency for International Development. In an April 22,1977 news article Ravenholt was cited as wanting to sterilize over one-fourth of the world’s population.

Today, USAID is the organization now on the ground in Haiti. USAID and Planned Parenthood work arm and arm.

Planned Parenthood is featured in the documentary: Maafa21, which reveals that Planned Parenthood’s founders were members of the American Eugenic Society and many held racist views. To date, Planned Parenthood has never denounced these eugenic founders, in fact, they praise them again and again.

A few years ago, the Ft. Lauderdale, Sun-Sentinel article, revealed that members of South Florida Planned Parenthood sat with an abortion clinic owner whose views on population control were hardly a secret.

According to the paper, Planned Parenthood was meeting with clinic owner, Joyce Tarnow, to assist her to raise money to open a new abortion clinic, after Tarnow’s landlord refused to renew her lease. In a separate Florida paper, Tarnow’s views on Haiti and our nation’s assistance of Haiti were made public.

Just what are Tarnow’s views… In a July 15,2004 News Times Tarnow states:

America “can’t take all the people in the world,” “We need to help nations that can subsist and let others wither on the vine.”

And how about this sensitive approach to countries like Haiti, which, she says, “has denuded the whole land“? “Stew in your own juices,“.

In the interview below of Tarnow from Maafa21, she quotes population control author, Paul Ehrlich who co-authored books with Obama’s Science Czar, John P. Holdren. Tarnow clearly advocates Darwin’s “Survival of the fittest” and says that the US should not help those nations who “cannot help themselves.”

Watch Tarnow Interview at .20 seconds into this:

In that same article , Joyce Tarnow reveals her true motives:

Fertility is an environmental issue,” she says. “That’s why I try to get as many people sterilized as are in my way!”

Just what are the views of Planned Parenthood?

Well.. the Trailer of the film Maafa21 may grant some insight:
