According to a June 2012 Post and Courier story: Prosecutors are expected to pursue a reduced charge against an abortion doctor accused of waving a handgun at protesters outside a West Ashley clinic in 2010.

Gary Boyle, a 64-year-old doctor from Tennessee, is scheduled to appear Friday in a Charleston County courtroom where plea hearings are generally held on felony cases that are being reduced to misdemeanors.

Boyle has been awaiting trial on a felony charge of pointing a firearm at a person.
But a notice from the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office indicates that Boyle will now be appearing Friday on a charge of public disorderly conduct.

Shortly after the one year anniversary of a pro-choice man gunning down and murdering a pro-life abortion protester and only weeks after a patient’s father at the abortion clinic of Curtis Boyd in New Mexico threatened pro-lifers with a gun and was arrested, another act of violence with a gun has been committed against pro-life abortion protesters. Doctor charged with pointing handgun at abortion protesters
By George Jackson

A doctor was charged with a felony in South Carolina on Saturday.

Charleston Police said Dr. Gary Boyle, 62 of Blountville, pointed a gun at three abortion protesters near the back entrance of the Charleston’s Women’s Medical Center.
According to the police report, Boyle works at the center. He also practices medicine at the Bristol Regional Women’s Center in Tennessee.

Both offices are the focus of a 40-day protest by anti-abortion activists.

A national organization called ’40 Days for Life’ started their vigil outside Boyle’s Bristol office on September 22nd. Organizer Linda Edwards said she plans to continue through the end of October.

“[The Charleston group] were doing what they were supposed to be doing in a peaceful vigil,” Edwards said. “That is, praying peacefully without interaction with doctors and nurses who are part of an abortion clinic.”

The police report lists three victims: 50-year-old John Karafa, 60-year-old Kenneth Ray Collins, and a male juvenile.

“[The victims] stated they were standing at the back entrance of the building, waiting to hand out their religious literature,” police said.
“The victims advise that the offender pointed a firearm at them from inside his vehicle,” police said.

Boyle could not be reached for comment Monday. His office declined comment.

Boyle told police he drew the gun because he felt threatened.

“The offender admitted that he presented the firearm because he was in fear of his and his wife’s life,” police said.

Collins disagreed with Boyle’s version of their encounter. He said Boyle approached the group of protestors.

“I offered literature to the approaching car,” Collins said. “Then I saw that I was looking down the barrel of a handgun,” he said.

Collins said the protest group was standing on the public right of way. Boyle could have called the office security guard if he felt threatened, he said.
“The guard sometimes stands and talks with us,” Collins said.

Boyle was charged with ‘pointing a firearm at any person,’ a felony in South Carolina. It carries a maximum prison term of five years.

Boyle is scheduled to appear in Charleston County Criminal Court on December 17th, 2010. He is free on a $25,000 bond.

CHARLESTON, SC — A Blountville, Tennessee doctor has been charged with pointing a gun at protesters outside an abortion clinic in Charleston, South Carolina.

Local police say 62-year old Gary Boyle was released on a $25,000 bail Saturday, after they say he pointed a handgun at three abortion protesters in the clinic’s parking lot.

It was not clear whether or not Boyle was actually performing abortions at the Charleston clinic, but the investigation is ongoing.

Police: Abortion doctor pulls gun
3 protesters approached him at West Ashley clinic

The Post and Courier
Sunday, October 3, 2010

For the past 11 days, anti-abortion demonstrators have gathered at the Charleston Women’s Medical Center in West Ashley as part of the annual “40 Days for Life” movement against abortion, each of them signing a “statement of peace” before participating.

Police say the protest met a threat Saturday morning when an out-of-state abortion doctor flashed a gun at them.

Police arrested Gary Boyle, 62, a Blountville, Tenn., physician, on charges of pointing a firearm.

Boyle drove into the parking lot of the clinic on Ashley River Road near Fuseler Road at around 8:30 a.m. When three protesters, including a 17-year-old boy, approached him, Boyle brandished a black handgun loaded with 15 rounds, according to a police report.

Boyle then stepped out of his SUV and walked into the clinic without further incident, the report says. One of the three protesters, 50-year-old John Karafa, called 911.

“We were like, ‘Well, that was a gun,’ ” Karafa said. “You can’t do that.”

Boyle appeared by video conference at a bond hearing Saturday afternoon dressed in a light yellow button-down shirt. Charleston County Magistrate Priscilla Baldwin set his bail at $25,000, which he posted later Saturday.

Whether Boyle performed abortions locally is not known. He and another physician operate the Bristol Regional Women’s Center near his Tennessee home.

A woman who came to the courtroom on Boyle’s behalf declined to speak during the proceedings and ignored requests for comment after the hearing.

More than a half-dozen anti- abortion demonstrators also attended

The incident wasn’t the doctor’s first legal snag.

He and his partner operated their clinic without a required certificate of need from the Tennessee Health Department for several years in the 1990s, and the health department tried to shut them down, according to court filings.

The dispute dragged on for years until 2002, when an appeals judge ruled that the state statute requiring the certificate had violated a woman’s right to privacy.

Las Vegas Valley man arrested, faces 13 charges in horrific child abuse case

Posted: December 31, 2010 | 12:00 a.m.

Edward Colucci would laugh after punching and smacking his girlfriend’s 5- and 8-year-old sons.

The 33-year-old laughed while forcing the 5-year-old to eat vomit-covered rice.

He would force the boys to take cold showers, stand for hours under an air conditioner turned on high while wearing next to nothing, and force them to eat dry Ramen noodles covered with salt, raw garlic and onions.

On one occasion he forced the 5-year-old to drink a glass of salt water he had spit in.

On another, Colucci sprayed eyeglass cleaner in the little boy’s eyes.

Authorities in Henderson have called it one of worst child abuse cases they have seen.

Colucci faces 13 felony counts stemming from the beating of his girlfriend’s two sons over an eight- month period. He faces multiple counts of robbery, first-degree kidnapping, child abuse and neglect, and battery.

A Henderson justice of the peace ruled at a preliminary hearing earlier this week that prosecutors had enough evidence to send Colucci’s case to trial in District Court. He faces arraignment on Jan. 18.

The abuse of the two boys and their 30-year-old mother is horrifically detailed in a 15-page Henderson police arrest report obtained by the Review-Journal.

Police first learned of the abuse after they were called to Colucci’s Lake Las Vegas apartment Nov. 22 in response to a report of an unconscious 5-year-old boy.

The boys’ mother met Colucci on the social networking web site MySpace in 2009. After a year of correspondence and several meetings, she and her two children moved to the valley from Utah.

According to the arrest report, the physical and mental abuse of the woman began almost immediately.

Yet in April she and the boys moved in with Colucci.

In July, Colucci allegedly threatened to kill one of the boys if the woman did not have an abortion. She complied.

Colucci then began focusing his attention on the boys, whom he believed were not eating properly, according to the report.

Colucci would starve the boys for days so they would be hungry enough to eat the raw or frozen vegetables he force-fed them.

When the mother would attempt to help her sons, Colucci physically abused her.

On one occasion he threatened to kill her with a knife, police said.

Once, when she tried to leave Colucci, he straddled her and bashed her head against the floor while repeatedly telling her, “I love you.”

On one night in August, Colucci forced the 8-year-old to eat a large salad, which the boy could not finish. He then started force-feeding the boy the concoction of Ramen Noodles, salt, and raw garlic cloves and onions.

When the boy didn’t eat fast enough, he was forced to stay in a bathroom for two weeks. The boy slept on a towel on the floor.

Colucci also reportedly forced the boy to stand under the air conditioner in the kitchen while it was turned on high and the boy was wearing shorts and a shirt.

The 8-year-old’s feet began to swell, his eyes “sunk in” to his head and he began losing hair, all the while he suffered the bruising of constant physical abuse. He was kept home from school during the month of September.

In October, Colucci turned his attention to the 5-year-old.

When the younger boy failed to eat Colucci’s diet fast enough he was sent to the bathroom, forced to sleep there and given cold showers.

In November the physical abuse escalated.

The night before he was arrested, Colucci accused the 5-year-old of not eating a plate of cold rice and raw onions fast enough.

The boy begged Colucci not to hit him and said that he would be a good boy but Colucci began banging the boy’s head against the kitchen counter, laughing as the boy cried.

As the mother tried to help the boy, Colucci threw a three-pound weight at the boy striking him in the leg.

Colucci then assumed a boxer’s stance and was yelling at the 5-year-old to stand up. Colucci began punching the boy and poking him in the eye.

Crying, the boy told Colucci “I just want to be your buddy,” but Colucci said the boy had ruined his day so he was going to ruin his — and sprayed glass cleaner in his eyes.

As the boy wept, Colucci bit the bridge of his nose.

At 2 a.m. on Nov. 22, Colucci saw the boy had vomited on the rice mixture and forced him to eat it. Colucci was laughing, according to the report.

Colucci stayed awake that night to ensure the mother didn’t help the 5-year-old, who was sleeping on the bathroom floor with a Superman blanket.

In the morning the abuse of the 5-year-old began immediately. Colucci began punching and kicking the boy in the stomach. The boy would collapse, but Colucci would lift him up by his armpits or grab the boy’s hair to make him stand.

The boy eventually went limp. His mother finally called 911.

Colucci told police the boy had fallen down several times during the day for an unknown reason.

Colucci speculated to police that the boy was probably dehydrated from not eating. He said the boy had not eaten anything the day before because all he wanted was pizza and candy.

Colucci further told police the boy bruised easily because he was low on iron.

According to the report, before police came, Colucci begged the woman to tell police another man had abused her and the boys.

The woman told police that she kept trying to leave the relationship but was in fear for her life and that of her children.

Man threatens to shoot Rockford pro-lifers outside abortion facility
by Thaddeus Baklinski

ROCKFORD, Illinois, December 6, 2010 ( – A man accompanying a woman into the notorious Rockford abortion mill on December 3 threatened to shoot pro-life sidewalk counselors, according to witnesses.

Rockford pro-life veteran Kevin Rilott told LifeSiteNews that the incident happened on Friday, when a group of five abortion supporters from the Chicago area showed up at the Northern Illinois Women’s Center. They stood at the driveway to the abortion facility shouting at mothers not to talk with pro-life sidewalk counselors.

Pro-lifers had parked a free mobile ultrasound motor home near the facility. Rilott said it appeared that the abortion supporters had come to Rockford with the sole purpose of trying to block mothers from using the free ultrasounds. In an attempt to confuse and turn away mothers, the abortion mill security guard had even placed a sign near the ultrasound motor home that said, “Free Abortions In Motor-home.”

At one point during the morning the pro-life counselors were confronted by a man who was bringing a young lady into the clinic for an abortion. Rilott said that the man appeared to be “emboldened” by the shouting of the pro-abortion protesters.

According to multiple witnesses, the man reached into his pocket and pretended that he had a gun. He then pulled his hand out of his pocket in the shape of a handgun and looked directly at the pro-lifers and said, “What would you do if I pulled out my .45 and put a bullet in your head?”

The pro-lifers called the police and filed a police report. A representative from the police department told LifeSiteNews that it would take up to five days to obtain a copy of the report, but that no arrest was made at the time.

Donna Modica, among many of the pro-lifers who witnessed the incident, said, “It’s clear these abortion supporters think that because they can kill a baby in the womb, they can do whatever they want to anyone. The violence of abortion breeds more violence.”

A witness at the Rockford abortuary said that later on the morning of December 3, the owner of the facility, Wayne Webster, came out and taunted one of the pro-lifers saying, “Maybe he should have shot you.”

Joe and Anne Scheidler founded the Chicago anti-abortion organization- Pro-Life Action League. they have been involved in pro-life work for many years, and have recently been staging pickets in front of one of Planned Parenthood’s mega centers in Aurora . Ill. Joe Scheidler was called the Green Beret of the pro-life movement by syndicated columnist Patrick Buchanan. His book on his methods of fighting abortion, CLOSED: 99 Ways to Stop Abortion, was updated in 1993, and he has produced the videos Meet the Abortion Providers and Abortion: The Inside Story, featuring former abortionists who are now telling the truth about what goes on in the abortion clinics.

According Eric Scheidler, Joe’s son, “Bricks were thrown through the front windows of my parents’ house in Chicago last night at 2 a.m., with a pro-abort note attached to one.
Is pro-choice violence on the rise?”
just coincidence?” He went on to state, “Last night the Illinois Choice Action Team (state NARAL chapter) held a “clinic escort” training on Chicago’s north side. A few hours late, bricks are thrown through my parents’ windows a few miles away….Let me clarify that I’m not accusing the Illinois Choice Action Team of anything. I can’t imagine their leader, Benita, of doing anything like this or being anything but horrified by it. But I wouldn’t be surprised if someone who attended the meeting got all fired up and decided to raise some hell.”

Here’s the note that came through the window with a chunk of asphalt. It reads (unedited):

We are crazy feminist bitches
who will destroy your sexist

[modified anarchy symbol]

P.S. I’ve had an
Abortion and no
laws would ever stop
me You can’t make
Queen Anne’s lace illegal

According to Eric, “The “no laws could ever stop me” seems redundant, what with the anti-vandalism laws having been ignored. BTW, seeds from Queen Anne’s lace are supposed to be contraceptive (possibly even abortifacient).”

Another pro-choice Abortionist arrested

Abortionist Whitney arrested on warrant; held without bond

Central Florida prolife activists initiate call to Orlando Police. Abortionist surrounded by cops at Orlando Women’s Center and held without bond. Whitney screams profanities at activists and threatens to sue. Whitney also charged with resisting arrest without violence. Stunning eyewitness account details results of prolife activism.

On the first day of the massive 13-city Florida campaign of 40 Days for Life, Orlando-area prolife activists discovered an outstanding bench warrant from September 10 against notorious abortionist Randall Brooks Whitney.

While doing abortions for four-time suspended Florida abortionist James Pendergraft, Whitney was arrested in March for slapping a customer of Orlando Women’s Center and charged with felony battery. After pleading not guilty through his and Pendergraft’s attorney James Buonauro, Whitney simply failed to show up for his trial.

On September 8, Judge John Adams issued the order for capias and it was formally entered on September 10. Prolife activists who had been following the case were amazed Whitney didn’t show. Even more stupendous is that he continued to kill babies in Orange County instead of staying in his home county of Volusia.

After dark on Wednesday, under a full moon, activists were notified of the warrant and were able to confirm that Whitney was inside the abortion clinic. They contacted Orlando Police and obtained a copy of the warrant. Four police officers surrounded the building while Whitney claimed he was in the “middle of surgery” and that they were superseding legal authority by removing a doctor from his patient.

Police didn’t buy Whitney’s story and arrested him while he was still in surgical scrubs. Police additionally charged Whitney with “resisting arrest without violence”, a misdemeanor common in situations were a person being arrested attempts to give false information to an officer.

As Whitney was led to the patrol vehicle in handcuffs, he screamed at several activists who remained behind to see his arrest. He threatened to come find them and that they would be sorry. He also threatened to sue although it was unclear if he was threatening Orlando Police or the activists.

He also accused the activists of using hardball tactics. He seemed genuinely shocked when one activist openly identified himself as the owner of the house across the street from an abortion clinic where Whitney used to work over ten years ago. “You’ve got to be kidding me!”, he exclaimed. [Full eyewitness account here on that exchange]

Whitney is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail. Activists intend to notify the Florida Medical Board and ask for an immediate permanent revocation of Whitney’s medical license.

READ: Bench Warrant for Randall Whitney

Ten days preceding the arrest, Whitney had slept in his own car overnight in the back parking lot of the abortion clinic. He had exclaimed to sidewalk counselors (whom he frequently interacts with) that his March arrest for battery was a complete misunderstanding. Yet, inexplicably, he failed to show for trial.

Whitney, Pendergraft, and Orlando Women’s Center are currently being sued for malpractice stemming from a 2001 botched abortion. After an early victory for Pendergraft and Whitney, upon appeal the case was remanded back to the lower court by the 5th District Court of Appeals in 2008. On September 13,2010 the parties agreed to proceed with a non-jury trial. It’s unclear whether Whitney’s arrest will further delay justice for the plaintiff in that case.

Original Arrest Story here

Operation Rescue reported that Whitney has faced license suspension and probation in the past and has been accused of illegal late-term abortions beyond the limits set by law by improperly using ultrasound to determine fetal age. Whitney defiantly closed his Daytona Beach abortion clinic rather than comply with laws governing clinic safety.

Orlando Women’s Center is owned by the notorious abortionist James Pendergraft, who is also no stranger to legal problems. On July 6, 2010, Pendergraft had his medical license suspended for a fourth time for botched abortions, committing illegal late-term abortions, and dispensing drugs without a license.

According to Michele Herzog, the director of Orlando’s Pro-life Action Ministries, Whitney has since taken over the work load from Pendergraft, doing an estimated 75% of all abortions at Pendergraft’s five Florida abortion mills.

“We will be forwarding documents to the Florida Medical Board today asking for the emergency suspension of Whitney’s license based on unprofessional conduct and criminal activity,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

Whitney’s arrest follows recent news of abortionists nationwide in trouble with the law, including the conviction and jailing two weeks ago of Massachusetts abortionist Rapin Osathanondh on a charge of manslaughter in the abortion death of Laura Hope Smith. Medical licenses of four other abortionists were suspended this month in Maryland and New Jersey on charges ranging from wrongful death, illegal late-term abortions, and aiding and abetting the unlicensed practice of medicine.

“The dirty truth about the unseemly side of the abortion industry is being exposed like never before and abortionists are finally beginning to be brought to justice after years of abortion abuses,” said Newman. “Whitney is by far no exception, but rather the rule when it comes to abortionists who are operating outside the law. Illegal activity by abortionists is systemic in the industry and that places lives at risk.”

Operation Rescue works to expose and report abortion abuses and is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and convictions of abortionists who are breaking the law.

Reports: White House threatens Senator Nelson, health care and abortion or loose your military base in Nebraska

White House threatening Sen. Nelson with military base closures in Neb.
By: Michael Goldfarb
The Weekly Standard
12/15/09 1:52 PM EST

According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.

While the Democrats appease Senator Lieberman, they still have to worry about other recalcitrant Democrats including Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson. Though Lieberman has been out front in the fight against the public option and the Medicare buy-in, Nelson was critical of both. Now that those provisions appear to have been stripped from the bill, Lieberman may get on board, but Nelson’s demand that taxpayer money not be used to fund abortion has still not been met.

Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer.

Indeed, Offutt is the headquarters for US Strategic Command, the successor to Strategic Air Command, and not by accident. STRATCOM was located in the middle of the country for strategic reasons. Its closure would be a massive blow to the economy of the state of Nebraska, but it would also be another example of this administration playing politics with our national security.
