TN media spins Planned Parenthood’s lack of prenatal care services

It is beyond amazing how the nation’s largest abortion corporation Planned Parenthood will mislead the public about the services they provide, all while the media is willingly complicit in their deceptions, by spinning the facts about prenatal care and other services.  The latest example can be seen in a Tennessee media outlet, which compares prenatal care to “vaginal infections.”

Lest you have the same puzzled reaction as I did, I will explain – or attempt to.

One of the more well-known examples of how Planned Parenthood has lied to the media and the public about its services is the false claim and out-right lie that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms. This myth was debunked despite the efforts of complicit media outlets, which allowed Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and other staffers and supporters to repeat the falsehood without question or a single challenge to Planned Parenthood’s alleged facts. Here is the truth, from Richards’ own lips:

Once Planned Parenthood was caught red-handed in the lie, they had to figure out a way to leverage the marketing benefits that their false claim provided them. To do this, Planned Parenthood directed media supporters to incidents where it provided a breast exam which resulted in a patient seeking a mammogram that was never offered by Planned Parenthood to begin with.

And, of course, the media continues to comply, spinning the lack of mammograms to favor Planned Parenthood.

Yet nowhere else in the media’s disillusioned minds would they consider touting report after report on a single OB/GYN or nurse practitioner’s office which saved lives by giving breast exams, without one cent of government money. Nope, only for Planned Parenthood.

Now, a media outlet in Tennessee has done a similar sleight of hand trick regarding prenatal care at Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis.

BACKGROUND:

Nationally, the abortion giant has insisted over and again that prenatal care is one of its core services that women will lose if taxpayer funding is cut off.

That is, until this false claim was debunked by a Live Action investigation:

Live Action’s undercover footage (above) was so embarrassing for Planned Parenthood that the organization had to purge the term “prenatal” from the top portion of its website.

Despite this, politicians – and yes, media promoters – still make the false claim that prenatal care is a primary service of the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Despite the media’s willful blindness and apparent inability to research, it does seem logical that an organization claiming to specialize in “women’s health care” would, at the very least, offer prenatal care. But this is not the case with Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood’s latest 2015-2016 report shows that nationally, prenatal care services dropped nearly 46 percent in a single year (from 17,419 to 9,419).

Even more damning, the 2015 numbers also reveal that prenatal care at the abortion corporation has decreased nearly 70 percent since 2010, when prenatal services numbered 31,098.

TENNESSEE:

Journalist , who writes for  CommercialAppeal.com, recently published an article that included an interview with Sarah Wallett, medical director of Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis.

Weathersbee begins her report by stating that the Planned Parenthood abortionist was “lured” into her profession because of her “faith,” quoting Wallett as saying:

Becoming a doctor was a way of living out my faith, of taking care of people who needed me … and women were specifically who I saw as needing me.

Wallett moved to Tennessee from Kentucky. She prides herself in providing abortions, as the video below shows:

Weathersbee focused her story on an alleged OB/GYN shortage in the area. So, of course, any good journalist knows that if the topic is legitimate physician shortages, you should go running to the nation’s largest abortion corporation — not a birthing center or a hospital or another physician who actually delivers babies — for a statement… right?

In what appears to be a creative way to spin the fact that Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis doesn’t offer any prenatal care services,  writes the following:

While Planned Parenthood doesn’t provide prenatal care, the gynecological examinations that Wallett provides have helped women detect vaginal infections, some of which can lead to premature births and miscarriages.

Despite admitting that the Memphis Planned Parenthood facilities do not provide prenatal care services, the journalist points out how important prenatal care is, adding:

For one thing, Shelby County has made significant progress in tamping down its infant mortality rate. Since 2006, that rate has dropped from 13.8 percent per 1,000 live births in 2006 to 8.2 percent in 2015.

That improvement came, in no small part, because the county pushed earlier prenatal care and emphasis on maternal health.

So, let’s recap. Prenatal care is important, Planned Parenthood doesn’t provide the service, yet this qualifies them to be interviewed for Weathersbee’s story.

Confused? So am I.

In order to help Weathersbee see how ridiculous her decision to include Planned Parenthood is, Live Action News has done a little bit of research of our own in order to investigate just what Planned Parenthood provides in the state.

PATIENTS:

If you examine the 2016 annual report for Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis, (which serves 42 counties in Tennessee), you learn that the facility saw 7,729 patients in 2016 and 7,191 in 2015.  And, according to its website, it currently sees 14,561 patients in the entire state.

In contrast, Tennessee federal health centers – which are listed under the Health Resources Services Administration’s website (HRSA) and which offer a vast array of health services – saw 369,445 patients in 2015 alone.

Federal health centers under HRSA served 5,460 prenatal patients as well, while Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis served zero.

Despite  spin, nationally, Planned Parenthood’s most recent prenatal services numbers are abysmal, dropping nearly 46 percent in a single year, and 70 percent since 2010, as I’ve already mentioned.

CANCER SCREENINGS:

According to the Planned Parenthood website mentioned above, Planned Parenthood offered 2,552 cancer screenings statewide.

Tennessee federal health centers under HRSA were able to provide 174,000 cervical cancer screenings.

BREAST EXAMS:

In 2016, breast exams at Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis decreased nearly 16 percent (1,060 in 2015 to 893).

This trend follows national decreases which show that according to Planned Parenthood’s most recently published report, breast exams at the abortion corporation declined nearly 12 percent in one year, from 363,803 in 2014-2015 to 321,700 in 2015.

In addition, between 2004 and 2015-2016, breast exams at Planned Parenthood declined nationally by more than 65 percent (925,763 to 321,700).

ABORTIONS:

In 2015, Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis performed 3,313 abortions (medical and surgical) out of the 9,113 induced termination of pregnancy reports made to the state, (the most recent report available). Numbers from 2016 reveal that Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis’s abortion numbers were lower, at 2,383.

CONTRACEPTIVE CARE:

Contraceptive care Planned Parenthood Tennessee vs FQHC

An analysis conducted by Planned Parenthood’s former “special affiliate,” the Guttmacher Institute, compared Federally Qualified Health Center sites (FQHC) to Planned Parenthood centers in areas that offered publicly funded contraception care for 2015. What they found doesn’t look so good.

In counties that offered publicly funded contraception care:

  • Only 4 out of 95 TN counties had at least one Planned Parenthood.
  • 66 counties had at least one FQHC site.
  • 91 counties didn’t have a single Planned Parenthood.

In addition:

  • Planned Parenthood served fewer contraception clients in one-fourth of the TN counties where they had a Planned Parenthood facility.
  • Only 1.5 percent (4 out of 262) of TN’s publicly funded family planning facilities were Planned Parenthood facilities, which served just 6 percent of contraception clients. FQHC sites served 16 percent.

FACILITIES:

At the time of this report, Planned Parenthood was operating only 4 centers in Tennessee.

However, according to the Rural Health Information Hub website, there are 112 Rural Health Clinics in Tennessee and 29 Federally Qualified Health Centers which provide services at 179 sites in the state. These centers offer a vast array of primary care services for women, unlike Planned Parenthood.

The numbers show how few services Planned Parenthood provides in Tennessee compared to other federally funded health centers.

This should cause journalists like Weathersbee to take note. But instead of focusing on health centers in Tennessee that actually help residents receive vital health care services, Weathersbee, like other media supporters of the abortion corporation, fixated on Planned Parenthood.

The public deserves to know the facts. After all, they send hundreds of thousands of dollars of government grant money to Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis each year.

And, as Live Action News has previously documented, in the past ten years, services nationally at Planned Parenthood decreased while government funds increased more than 81 percent ($305.3 million in 2005 to $554.6 million in 2015).  These increased tax dollars did not result in vital health services, but instead led to Planned Parenthood’s cornering of nearly 35 percent of the U.S. abortion market in the United States. That’s more than 320,000 abortions annually – 900 per day, one every 96 seconds.

Planned Parenthood “concerned” pro-life law will force women to find more “childcare” ?

Posted in Planned Parenthood Employee with tags , , , , , , , on July 14, 2015 by saynsumthn

A new law in Tennessee requiring a 48-hour wait and counseling prior to an abortion is about to go into effect and the business that profits off abortion is worried.

Stats show that when women have more time to consider their decision to terminate a pregnancy they often choose life.

This does not sit well with an industry which thrives on scare tactics and emotions to lure women in and sell them an abortion.

Ashlet Coffield Planned Parenthood

Ashley Coffield, CEO and President of Planned Parenthood, said the delay is “only going to be harmful” because the longer a woman has to wait, the greater the chance she could face complications due to an underlying medical condition.

They should know about such things because it was a Planned Parenthood center in Illinois that left a 24-year-old Black women bleeding to death in their center for 5 hours before transferring her to a hospital after her abortion.

Did I mention that she died as a result?

But, the woman, Tonya Reaves, is not Ms. Coffield’s concern here.

In fact, Reaves has never been a concern of any Planned Parenthood spokesperson.

Women who they kill from abortion are quickly forgotten as a mere complication of the surgery.

Instead, Coffield is expressing a faux concern that women will have to pay for “more childcare” in order to comply with a law designed to give them time to reflect on the pressure to have an abortion.

If that isn’t the ultimate in irony, I do not know what is?

In order to allow a women more time to consider killer her baby she may incur “more childcare” issues?

Take a listen for yourself:

What does that mean for women?

“That means they have to take additional time off work. They have to find more child care…”

Revolutionary abortion rights group Stop Patriarchy to protest pro-life laws in several states

The communist revolutionary group Stop Patriarchy is calling for “national actions” on July 1st to “protest new abortion restrictions scheduled to go into effect in Kansas and Tennessee that day.”

Stop Patriarchy July protest

According to the group’s website:

On July 1st, as many as half the abortion clinics in Tennessee are expected to close due to new restrictions which will require abortion facilities to meet the same physical standards as a mini-emergency room (even though early abortion is an extremely simple, outpatient procedure).

Cal Dix SP

They also state:

These new restrictions are part of a national onslaught against abortion rights and birth control. Over 330 restrictions have been introduced nationwide already this year! This CANNOT be tolerated if women are going to be treated as FULL HUMAN BEINGS! These laws will have devastating effects on the lives of women across the country, and especially in the deep South, where new restrictions have forced many abortion clinics to close.

Fetus not baby Stop Patriarchy

A Fact Sheet put out by the group entitled: Abortion rights are in a state of emergency, and headed for disaster, reads in part:

For far too long, pro-choice people have remained passive, or funneled their energies into supporting politicians who openly promise to seek “common ground” with Christian fascists. But seeking “common ground” has really meant ceding ground to this whole onslaught. For decades we have watched yesterday’s outrage become today’s “compromise position” and tomorrow’s limit of what can be imagined. There can be no “common ground” with female enslavement. What is required instead is: massive, uncompromising, political resistance to STOP this whole WAR ON WOMEN, and go on to WIN the fight for full liberation.

PAST DISRUPTIONS:

Several members of Stop Patriarchy were arrested in Washington D.C. trying to disrupt pro-lifers on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion in America.

Stop Patriarchy March for Life arrests

They also became aggressively disruptive to Black pro-life activists in California after vowing to “Ferguson” pro-life walk.

Bragging on their website, “As politicians continue to ramp up a national assault on abortion and birth control, Stop Patriarchy is unleashing the rage and frustration of old and new generations, forging a new political force of opposition while recasting the terms in the fight over abortion around women’s enslavement or women’s liberation.”

Sunsara Taylor Carl Dix Stop Patriarchy Oakland.

Susan Stop Patriarchy

The group is headed by Communist sympathizer Sunsara Taylor, a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party, receiving the support of convicted terrorist Bill Ayers. Their methods and tactics have even been denounced by more mainstream pro-choice advocates.

Stop Patriarchy is very selective in their outrage against the “Patriarchy.” While they disrupt pro-life events they enthusiastically support abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood which deliberately cover child rape and myriads of abortion “providers” who sexually abuse or physically harm their patients.

Abortion activists have been activating since Texas passed a series of pro-life laws in the state which have closed several abortion clinics. During this time, pro-abortion radicals descended in Austin to express their outrage.
Stop Patriarchy was among them, blocking traffic and getting arrested there as well.

Since then many other states have since passed similar legislation.

According to Life News, weeks ago Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed into law a pro-life bill HB 1368 requiring licensure and inspection of abortion facilities the same as ambulatory surgical centers in the state.

Strict pro-life laws are also being challenged in Kansas.

Do Tennessee abortion clinics operate in the dark like Gosnell’s House of Horrors clinic?

Posted in Abortion Clinic Inspections with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 31, 2014 by saynsumthn

Pro-lifers in Tennessee are working to pass Amendment 1 which would require inspections of abortion clinics.

Amendment 1 would give the state legislature more power to regulate abortion in Tennessee, essentially putting the state in line with what’s allowable under federal law.

In 2012, a conversation was captured on video between a lawmaker and a Tennessee Department of Health representative which explains why the Amendment is needed.

Tennessee legislator Joey Hensley, a licensed physician, discussed the lack of abortion facility regulations with the Assistant Commissioner from the Tennessee Department of Health and her answers were stunning.

She admited that the Department of Health has no enforcement ability to require abortion clinics to report to the state.

This sounds eerily similar to what took place in Pennsylvania when Kermit Gosnell’s House of Horrors abortion clinic was allowed to operate without any state inspections for years.

After operating for years, in the early 1990’s the Pennsylvania Department of Health instituted a policy of inspecting abortion clinics only when there was a complaint.

Gosnell House of Horrors l_corbettattackadx1200
After Gov. Tom Ridge, who supported abortion rights, was elected, the state Department of Health stopped inspecting abortion clinics.

According to a grand jury investigation, “Officials concluded that inspections would be ‘putting a barrier up to women’ seeking abortions” and decided “to leave clinics to do as they pleased.” That practice continued under Gov. Mark Schweiker and Gov. Ed Rendell. It was not until after a drug raid in February 2010 at Gosnell’s clinic that the Health Department resumed regular abortion clinic inspections.

Less than a year later, eight charges of homicide for killing seven newborns and one female patient was brought against the abortion doctor. Various additional charges were brought against members of Gosnell’s staff. He was eventually convicted and is serving time in prison.

Do Tennessee abortion clinics operate in the dark like Gosnell’s House of Horrors clinic?

In the video conversation with the Tennessee Department of Health representative, she admits to lawmaker Joey Hensley, that when it comes to abortion clinics reporting to the state there is no teeth in current law to require them to comply.

TN Amendment 1 Vid

Hensley asks the Tennessee Department of Health representative, “You require presently everyone who performs an abortion to report to the state?”

She replies, “Correct.”

Hensley asks, “How do you enforce that requirement?”

Untitled

SILENCE….. Then……Her response, “I’m not exactly sure how we enforce that.”

Hensley asks, “How do you enforce that? Do you check the abortion clinics and check their records and see if they have actually reported this information?”

She replies, “No sir, it’s not quite that active from our department.”

Hensley, “So you just ask ’em to and assume?”

She says, “We let them know a couple times a year that they’re supposed to be reporting this information to the Department of Health.”

Hensley, “So that all you do? And then just- you assume that they report it?”

What she says next says it all, “It doesn’t have any teeth in the law for us to force them to report to us.”

You can watch the conversation here:

To show how dangerous abortion clinics are to women, advocates of Amendment 1 released this video which containes actual audio of a 911 call from an abortion facility.

During the call a staffer, from The Women’s Center abortion clinic, operated by Dr. Gary Boyle, directs other unidentified personnel where to find medication, and provides the following details to the 911 dispatcher.

911: “Tell me exactly what happened…”

WC Staff: “She started coughing and she quit breathing….”

911: “Is she breathing?”

WC Staff: “Uh, some”

WC Staff: “She just started having a coughing fit and maybe had quit breathing at one point.”

911: “Is her breathing completely normal?

WC Staff: “Now? No.”

911: “And is she completely alert?”

WC Staff: “No.”

911: “Is she changing color?”

WC Staff: “Yes….She just looks ashen, she’s a black woman…”

911: “Does she have any abdominal pain?”

WC Staff: “Uh, I’m sure she does, she’s in the middle of getting an abortion.”

“Tennessee requires no health inspection of abortion facilities, has no informed consent and no waiting periods for abortion. Amendment 1 does not overturn Roe vs. Wade like the amendment’s opponents would have you believe. I wish it did. However, Amendment 1 does bring Tennessee back up to a standard equal to all the surrounding states by legally providing a safer environment for women who do choose to abort their babies,” said Randy C. Davis, executive director/treasurer of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, a group of more than 3,200 cooperating Baptist churches, and an advocate of Amendment 1.

Voters in the state will cast their final decision on the amendment November 4th.

Black Abortion Activists Lobby Tennessee Churches against Pro-life Measure

Posted in Black Abortion Stats, Planned Parenthood Black Mouthpieces with tags , , , , , , on October 28, 2014 by saynsumthn

Abortion is the number one killer of the African American community and Planned Parenthood, which places their killing centers in Black neighborhoods is the largest provider of abortions in the nation.

According to the most recent stats, 54.1% of babies aborted in Tennessee were Black or Hispanic.

TN Abortion Stats 2010

The root of abortion and Planned Parenthood is eugenics and racism.

Sadly, despite the fact that African Americans are the target of abortion some Blacks are promoting it in Tennessee even speaking for it in local churches.

The Black Group, SisterReach clearly advocates for abortion and Planned Parenthood:

SisterReach

They even list abortion giant Planned Parenthood as a “Partner

SisterReach partner PP

So it is no surprise that they are opposing a strong pro-life amendment in the state called Amendment 1.

According to Yeson1tn’s website, As a result of the pro-abortion ruling in Planned Parenthood of Middle Tennessee v. Sundquist, Tennesseans can no longer enforce common sense protections for abortion-vulnerable women or unborn children.

Because each of Tennessee’s 8 border states have active policies requiring informed consent, waiting periods and regulation of abortion facilities by state Department of Health, Tennessee has quickly become a destination for women, girls, spouses, partners and parents seeking unregulated abortions.

Since 2000, the primary goal of pro-life Tennesseans has been to overturn this wrong court ruling and restore the ability of citizens and elected officials to decide Tennessee’s abortion policies.

Formerly referred to as Senate Joint Resolution 127 (SJR 127), Amendment 1 has been placed on the ballot for public vote in November 2014.

SisterReach Board

Sister Reach’s board consists of Elizabeth Dorse-Merriwether, Jasmine Burnett, Tomeka Hart, Orisha Bowers, La Tonia Denee Blankenship.

According to her Linkedin page, Sister Reach board member Jasmine Burnett was the ACA Outreach Organizer for Planned Parenthood Federation of America until earlier this year. A cached version of a Planned Parenthood newsletter shows Tomeka Hart speaking on their behalf ( read here), Orisha Bowers is featured in this Planned Parenthood newsletter( here) as well as their Pinterest page (here.)

According to an article in The Nation, Sister Reach has been a presence on local historically black campuses, registering voters at Tennessee State University’s homecoming and planning a forum for this week at LeMoyne-Owen College on Amendment 1.

SisterReach has been busy in churches, a critical place they believe they will reach black voters in Tennessee.

The organization’s interfaith coordinator has found that one way to reach people in the pews to oppose restricting abortion in the state is to invoke scripture. “She’s showing in the Bible where women were self-determining and that was okay, whether we’re talking about Deborah or Tamar or Queen Vashti,” Sister Reach spokesperson Cherisse Scott told The Nation.

Abortion is the wholesale slaughter of unborn children and to have anyone using the Holy Scriptures to promote it is horrific.

Sadly stats published by the CDC , reveal that, like Tennessee, a majority of Black or Hispanic babies were aborted nationally:

Abortion Eugenics Racism

• 73.3% of babies aborted in Mississippi were Black or Hispanic

• 73.2 % of babies #aborted in Georgia were Black or Hispanic

• 64.8% of babies aborted in DC were Black or Hispanic

• 61.4% of babies aborted in Alabama were Black or Hispanic

• 55.9% of babies aborted in New Jersey were Black or Hispanic

• 55.6% of babies aborted in Virginia were Black or Hispanic

• 54.1% of babies aborted in Tennessee were Black or Hispanic

• 54.3% of babies aborted in Delaware were Black or Hispanic

• 45.7 % of babies aborted in South Carolina were Black or Hispanic

• 43.5% of babies aborted in Missouri were Black or Hispanic

• 42.6% of babies aborted in Ohio were Black or Hispanic

• 41.6% of babies aborted in Arkansas were Black or Hispanic

Hopefully Black voters in the state will reject this attempt by Black Trojan Horse abortion and Planned Parenthood mouthpieces from Sister Reach to sway them to oppose Amendment 1. Blacks typically claim to be pro-life on abortion so how black Tennesseans vote on Amendment 1 may prove to be decisive.

Seventeen percent of Tennessee’s population is African-American. In the state’s most populous cities, Memphis and Nashville, that percentage jumps to 63 and 29 respectively, cites The Nation.

For help educating the Black voting public I recommend the documentary film Maafa21 which explains how abortion was founded in eugenic racism and targets the African American community- watch it for free here http://www.maafa21.com.

Memphis Planned Parenthood tells “child” to lie to a Judge to obtain a secret abortion

Lila Rose speaks with Glenn Beck and exposes how a Memphis Tennessee Planned Parenthood counselor tells an undercover investigator posing as a 14 year-old girl who said she was impregnated by a 31 year-old man, to lie to a Judge about her age so she can get an abortion ! This is a clear violation of the law !!!!
