Portland Business Journal’s article, Planned Parenthood wraps $12.5M campaign, proves that tax payer support of Planned Parenthood must stop now. This abortion clinic mega center received a million and a half in tax credits to build their new mega center in Portland , which is strategically placed in a black neighborhood.
According to the article:
Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette on Monday announced the completion of its five year, $12.5 million fund raising campaign.
The Let’s Build campaign funded the new 42,000-square-foot Elizabeth Flanagan Regional Service Center that is now home to Planned Parenthood administrative staff and a state-of-the-art NE Portland health center.
About $9 million of the $12.5 million raised came from private donors. An additional $2 million was raised through a board designated endowment, and $1.5 million came from new market tax credits.
The center is named after Elizabeth Flanagan, a former PPCW board member and board president who died in April 2009 after a three-year battled with ovarian cancer.
The LEED Certified building was designed by Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects and constructed by B&G Builders, Inc.

Pro-Life Action of Oregon has a blogpost noting that Planned Parenthood Washington has a pastor on their payroll. Pro-Life Action includes words from Rev. Isham Harris, minister of NE Portland’s Upper Room Home Church:
“This clergyman is not in harmony with the Holy Spirit because Christ came so that we may have life,” says Rev. Harris. “Psalm 137 tells us that children are a heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. I question whether this reverend is being led by the Holy Spirit.”
Rev. Harris is distressed that Planned Parenthood chose Black History Month to open its abortion mill. “They have a total disregard for Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., for the plight of African-Americans. I feel the same about the Portland Development Commission. I totally abhor this.”
News of Planned Parenthood is disturbing to African-American religious leaders including Rev. Isham Harris, pastor of the Upper Room Home Church located in Northeast Portland. Rev. Harris led a pro-life march through the Black neighborhood one year ago.

Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers of Immaculate Heart Church sounded the alarm about Black Genocide at the Portland Right To Life rally in January 2010. “Every week more Blacks die in American abortion clinics that were killed in the entire Vietnam war,” he told the crowd. The Culture of Death “would like us to ignore the fact that African-America women comprise 12% of the population, but have 37% of the abortions. Abortion kills as many African-American people every four days as the Ku Klux Klan killed in 150 years.”
