Abortion patients leave poor reviews of late-term abortion facility in Dallas

Southwestern Women's Options late-term abortion facility Dallas.

There appears to be a bad run for late-term abortion facilities receiving poor reviews online from clients. Live Action News recently highlighted comments published against Warren Hern’s Colorado facility with alleged clients claiming the abortionist “speaks aggressively” and was “very condescending and suspicious”. Alleged patients who sought abortions at a late-term facility located in the nation’s capital, operated by abortionist Cesare Santangelo, called his Washington Surgi-Clinic the “Worst place ever” describing it as “a meat market”.

Now, reviews published about a later term abortion facility in Dallas, Texas is also receiving poor reviews from alleged clients. Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) is one of a handful of abortion facilities in the nation which commits late-term abortions. It is owned and operated by Curtis Wayne Boyd, which has facilities in both Albuquerque, New Mexico where they commit abortions through 28 weeks of pregnancy as well as Dallas where they end the lives of preborn children up to 21 weeks.

Late-term abortion abortionist Curtis Boyd

Curtis Boyd commits late-term abortions.

Boyd employs a number of abortion doctors, some who were mentioned in reviews Live Action News uncovered.

Boyd’s Dallas facility received several critical Google reviews, with many comments alleging long wait times at SWO. But, some were complimentary, like this one which began, “I called planned parenthood first, the lady who answered was very short with me when I asked prices and said ‘thank you for calling’ and hung up right away.  When I called here, I spoke to Melinda and she was so nice to me and answered all my questions and more.”

Many published reviews of the Dallas abortion facility were very critical.

Two months ago, alleged SWO patient, Gabriel, wrote, “Do not recommend! Southwestern Women’s Surgery just care about money.”

Another woman wrote, “The staff was evil.”

Still, others called SWO’s staff, “rude and inconsiderate.”

Alleged patient Princess claimed the staff’s slowness was costing her extra money:

Although Boyd brags online that he is, “recognized for his expertise in pain management and minimizing surgery risk” and also claims that he helped establish “the National Abortion Federation (NAF) and is a founding member of the Federation’s Board of Directors” reviews left on Google indicate his facility’s ability to manage pain may not be as good as he claims.

One alleged patient complained that, “The part that i dont like is that I see, heard, and feel everything….i feel a lot a pain…”

In 2006, a patient at Boyd’s New Mexico facility filed a lawsuit against him after she suffered severe pain which “caused her to move about on the table, forcing the doctor to stop the procedure several times,” and because the clinic could not find an anesthesiologist they suggested the abortion patient go to a hospital to finish the procedure. According to the lawsuit, “Dr. [Thomas] Hall advised Plaintiff that one option was to find a doctor at a hospital who would perform the procedure.  Although no hospital in New Mexico takes patients directly for elective abortions, Dr. Hall informed Plaintiff that the University of New Mexico Hospital allows for exceptions, such as referral of patients with complications.” As a result, in an attempt to finish what SWO started, that physician, “unknowingly extracted Plaintiff’s right ureter, the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder.”

Pain during abortion is not uncommon and neither are complications.

In fact, nine months ago, another alleged patient at the Dallas SWO abortion facility, also accused the abortion facility of leaving her with an incomplete abortion, she wrote in part, “At southwestern, I felt it. It hurt. Briefly, it only lasted two minutes and they had me out the door. A few weeks later I go to the hospital for unrelated reasons and they tell me I’m pregnant. I said it was a mistake, I had a surgical abortion. They did a sonó and there is still tissue in me causing me to read as pregnant even though I’ve had my menstral. This is potentially life threatening and I will be contacting an attorney. Please make sure you get an experienced doctor. This could potentially leave me barren.”

Around that same timeframe, Lauren claims the staff tried to pressure her into an abortion. She gave this scathing review, “Disgusting place pushes abortion on anyone regardless of whether we think our pregnancy is a gift or not. This is a person. That is so sick that for basic screenings they would push a political viewpoint on me. I am glad I am having a baby and even if I did not want her I would give her to someone else.”

Alleged patient Anil warned, “Please avoid this clinic. Long wait and not at all helpful.”

In 2013, Live Action released undercover video from their, Inhuman investigative series which exposed abortion doctors at Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque revealing disturbing aspects of the facility’s protocol, including the practice of leaving women alone in hotel rooms to deliver their dead children.

An unnamed counselor at the facility advises Live Action’s 27-week-pregnant investigator:

If we can’t catch it [delivery of the dead baby – the final stage of the abortion procedure] early enough, which has happened … then you’ll want to unlock the door to the hotel room, get your cell phone, and just sit on the toilet.  You don’t have to look at anything … you can stay on the phone with us until the doctor and nurse get there[.]

SWO abortion doctor Carmen Landau echoed this advice, telling the Live Action investigator to “sit on the toilet” and “unlock the hotel room.”

“Just sit there,” Landau says, “and you would not move until we come and get you.”

Staff at the New Mexico facility have been recorded expressing a willingness to abort a child at 30 weeks because of the mother’s “stress,” and were recorded offering to abort a 37-week-old preborn baby for $17,000. In addition, the New Mexico facility was recently in the news after the death of one of their abortion patients was blamed on pregnancy complications.

Live Action News published a report detailing how Boyd and his late-term abortion facility have been mired in controversy on a national level since coming under fire by a congressional committee for his work with the University of New Mexico, where the abortionist serves as adjunct faculty. In 2016, Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, issued a subpoena against SWO in NM, relating to charges that abortion and Planned Parenthood facilities are selling aborted baby body parts for research. Late last year, a patient of SWO filed a lawsuit against owner Curtis Boyd and abortionists Carmen Landau and Shelley Sella, for failing to detail the clinic’s collaboration with the University of New Mexico, the sole recipient of fetal parts where Boyd works.

Whether abortion facilities receive good or poor reviews, all abortions take the lives of innocent preborn children and sometimes their mothers as well. This is something Southwester’s founder Boyd is well aware of having admitted once that, “Yes, I am” killing.

Hospital halts training program with late term abortion clinic which provides “fetal tissue”

A New Mexico University has halted a training program using doctors from a late term abortion clinic which provides the University with fetal tissue for research. The Albuquerque Journal newspaper has reported that the University of New Mexico (UNM), which is a publicly-funded institution, has cut ties with Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO), a late-term abortion facility owned by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd and has been the subject if a previous undercover sting conducted by Live Action. The abortionist is one of a handful of doctors in the country that performs abortions in the third trimester. He claims to be a former Baptist minister and admits that he knows he “is killing.” Southwestern Women’s has a location in Dallas and one in Albuquerque.

Pro-lifers Tara and Bud Shaver who founded the pro-life group, ProtestABQ, have diligently exposed the late term clinic for years. In July, Tara Shaver filed a formal criminal complaint with the Attorney General of New Mexico asking for a complete and thorough investigation of Boyd’s clinic following revelations that Planned Parenthood was taking part in a gruesome baby parts operation. Shaver indicated Boyd was also using the body parts of babies he aborted for research. She based her allegations on documents obtained by prolifewitness.org indicating SWO staff members are, “ in fact, harvesting baby body parts for use in medical research.”

The documents included copies Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) informed consent paperwork which every abortion patient must sign indicating that Boyd and (SWO) may be using aborted babies in medical research.

The 2015 consent form (image above) states:

“I understand that the pregnancy tissue will be removed from my body during this procedure. The pregnancy tissue may be examined here at the Clinic and the Clinic doctors may dispose of the tissue according to the law. The pregnancy tissue may be used for medical research.”

This consent form from 2012 (image below) says, “tissue and parts will be removed during the procedure.”

The form goes on to state, “and I consent to their examination and their use in medical research and their disposal by the clinic and/or physician in the manner they deem appropriate.”

Protest ABQ pointed out that New Mexico has a law prohibiting the selling of body parts. But despite the law, UNMH officials admitted to the Journal that they have been accepting fetal tissue from Boyd’s clinic for a decade claiming the abortionist is not paid for the baby body parts. In addition, Dr. Richard Larson, executive vice chancellor and vice chancellor for research at the UNMHSC, the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, told the Journal that Boyd’s clinic is the school’s only supplier of fetal tissue.

To justify the use of dead children in the late gestational age, Larson told the Journal that the “fetal tissue” they collect from Boyd will, “reduce the mortality of premature babies, especially these extremely premature babies.” Officials also claim that their grisly research will reduce the likelihood of blindness, cognitive defects and other anomalies found in newborns between 24 and 30 weeks, the same age as the babies Boyd kills. In a May 2015 letter to UNMH, the Journal reports that Boyd specified that in abortions of less than 20 weeks, his doctors use “aspiration, dilation and evacuation.” Abortions after 20 weeks involve “feticide” by injecting the fetus with the drug Digoxin, Boyd’s letter states.

University officials still find the use of “fetal tissue” acceptable. What they are now publicly distancing themselves from is their training program with Boyd’s clinic and fellow abortionists staff who were described as “faculty” under the training agreements with UNM. The decision by UNMHSC officials to no longer send medical fellows or residents to Boyd’s clinic, follows a letter from New Mexico state Rep. Rod Montoya and other legislators who questioned top Health Sciences Center officials last July about the relationship with Boyd’s clinic and the use of “body parts” from women who have abortions there, the paper states. Montoya told the Journal that the argument could be made that the residents and fellows were helping the clinic augment its staffing for abortions.

“Initially, it had the appearance of being a transaction of sorts,” Montoya said, according to the Journal. “Of staffing in return for the body parts. That’s the appearance, and I informed them, ‘that’s how it appears to me,’ ” adding that he is concerned that there is no oversight of abortion clinics in the state.

“We know that the vast majority of New Mexicans believe we should not have a free-for-all when it comes to abortion
,” the Representative said.

In addition to the using fetal tissue for research in New Mexico a former employee of Boyd’s testified that he also had an agreement with the Director of Fetal Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center to use “large babies” for fetal research there. The former staffer, Nita Whitten, made this statement at a “Meet the Abortion Providers” workshop sponsored by the Pro-life Action League of Chicago, directed by Joe Scheidler:

“One thing that happened at the clinic that I worked at that was incredibly devastating, right before I left. Dr. Boyd had made an agreement with a doctor, and I cannot name this doctor because I just don’t think it would be wise to name him today, but he was the Director of Fetal Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center at that time. He had made an agreement with this doctor to give him our large babies for him to do fetal research on. They did this, and I believe at the time, it was against the law. I don’t know if it is now, and I’m not familiar with the legal terms because I’m not a lawyer, but I remember we were told not to tell anyone, and they only came in secret to get the babies…He had them come in and they dissected a baby for us in our lab room so we could see what they were doing with the body parts. They did that right there and everybody filed in and looked. I looked at it. I pretended like I was being brave and walked out. It made me sick.”

Bud Shaver described the University’s “fetal tissue research” program as unethical and immoral and said that he is now calling for them to cut all ties with the late term abortion doctor, “The University of New Mexico (UNM) has been caught red handed trafficking and using baby body parts for their medical research,” he told Saynsumthn.

“This is unethical and immoral which is why Protest ABQ is calling for UNM to cut all ties with Curtis Boyd at Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) which is their sole provider of baby remains. The fact that the residency training rotation has been stopped at SWO is merely a bandaid on the bigger problem which is UNM’s overall radical abortion agenda which is what Protest ABQ is demanding UNM to halt,” he added.

Pro-life group to Mayor: Work on removing late term abortion reputation instead of silencing pro-life people

The Mayor of a New Mexico city has called out a pro-life group for showing the truth of abortion and they replied by accusing the mayor of doing nothing to end late term abortions in their city.

ProtestABQ recently drove their pro-life “truth truck” into the Albuquerque neighborhood of Democratic City Council Candidate Pat Davis to expose how he supports killing children in the womb and what that looks like.

Truth Tructh Protest ABQ

Mayor Richard Berry, who calls himself pro-life, is getting heat from residents who say they do not want the images in their neighborhood.

So, instead of calling out the pro-abortion politician, the mayor posted a YouTube video to call for ProtestABQ to stop driving their truth trucks into Davis’ neighborhood.

Mayor Richard Berry

“What I’m doing today is asking them to stop that activity,” he said.

“There’s nothing we can find that would legally stop them from doing this,” Berry said. “But I’m standing up as a mayor and asking them to advocate for a position, but in a way that’s respectful for our kids in our community, Mayor Berry told KRQE.

Tara Shaver, spokesperson for ProtestABQ responded to the Mayor’s video:

“The reason why Protest ABQ has resorted to what some people consider extreme tactics is a direct result of Mayor Berry’s lack of action regarding the out of control abortion industry and his very own city. Mayor Berry as well as our self proclamined pro-life Governor Susana Martinez have not lifted one finger to save even one preborn child’s life but instead allow children to be subjected to the brutal action the images we use capture. Instead of trying to silence and trample on our First Amendment constitutional rights, Mayor Berry should work on removing Albuquerque’s shameful reputation of being the late term abortion capital of the nation. Instead of siding with pro-choice interests he should work to fulfill the responsibilities that his constituents elected him to fulfill.”

Shaver is referring to the late term abortion facility operated by abortionist Curtis Boyd. Protest ABQ recently accused Boyd’s Southwestern Women’s Options of possibly being involved in gruesome baby parts harvesting operations.

While the media has been all over this story they refuse to show the public the truth of what abortion looks like. And now, thanks to this Mayor they are focusing more on the images than on the kids that are being slaughtered by abortion.

Meanwhile, the pro-abortion council hopeful called the tactic intimidation adding, “I don’t believe for a minute that city hall has any business getting between a woman and her doctor on medical issues, so we’ll just have to agree to disagree.”

Davis complained about the protest on his Facebook page, writing:

For the second day in a row, my neighbors (and their kids) have endured these protests because I don’t believe city council has any business getting between a woman and her doctor.

“Everyone has a right to participate in the political process, but this is unnecessary. Help me send a message by voting early (open now!) and volunteering to turn out our neighbors to vote.”

While a few people liked the post and approved of Davis’ pro-abortion position, one reasonable resident asked him a pointed question, writing,”Reality is gruesome to look at sometimes. Why are the images of what is going on more offensive than the actual activities?”

The trucks are not the only way ProtestABQ is getting out the message that Pat Davis is pro-abortion.

Earlier this month, they sent Albuquerque residents graphic mailers also exposing Davis’ abortion positions.

The message read:

Pat Davis: Too extreme for City Council District 6, and you can expect more of this if he’s elected.
    Davis champions this…

Pat Davis ABQ abortion mailer

According to Bud Shaver, the mailer was meant to be graphic because, as the mailer states:

While Davis claims to be “progressive” he really champions archaic practices such a late-term abortion. Davis will not bring progress to ABQ but instead, he will ensure that barbaric late-term abortions will continue in our city.

A vote for Pat Davis is a vote against the women and children of Albuquerque.

The residents of Albuquerque deserve to know where aspiring politicians stand on pre-born child killing,” Shaver added.

The election will be held October 6th.

Protest ABQ has worked tirelessly in New Mexico to close the infamous Southwestern Women’s Options late term abortion facility operated by abortionist Curtis Boyd. They have also worked to pass strict abortion laws educating the public with truth trucks that show what abortion does to unborn babies.

Funeral home sends driver to abortion clinic to pick up “fetus”

Abolitionist Toby Harmon has uploaded a video of his conversation with a Funeral Home employee who showed up at Curtis Boyd’s Albuquerque abortion clinic: Southwestern Women’s Options.

The Funeral Home employee told Harmon that he did not agree with abortion but was requested by the mother for them to pick up the fetus.

An image of the funeral home vehicle taken by Harmon reveals that the funeral home is Riverside Funeral Home.

Riverside

On their website, the late term abortion clinic says that prior to the induction they, “discuss the patient’s wishes for saying goodbye to her baby and make a plan to accommodate her wishes. We offer a memory box containing a receiving blanket, footprints, a certificate of stillbirth and photos. Many women and their support choose to view the baby the day following induction. We can help with arrangements for burial or cremation.”

SW

A call made to the abortion clinic in 2011 revealed that the clinic will arrange for a funeral home to pick up babies they murder.

The abortion clinic tells the caller how they will kill the “fetus” the caller then asks:

Caller: Okay. What happens to the fetal remains? What options do I have there?

SWO’s Sue: Well, you do have some options,uh, from–you know you can certainly make arrangements through a funeral home, if it’s something that you’re wanting to have cremated for example and, uh, the remains shipped to you. Uh, it would have to–those arrangements would have to be made through a funeral home here who then makes arrangements with a funeral home where ever it is that you live. Um. So that certainly is something that some patients do choose to do.

Harmon described his feelings after posting the vid, “I must admit my emotions and thinking on this are conflicted. It is sick and twisted to murder your own baby and then act like it was a normal death and now decide to call the funeral home to give him or her proper cremation/burial. However, this is the most humanly this pre-born child was ever treated in his short life and reflecting back on it I do not hold the funeral home accountable for his murder, but appreciate that they will, by their services provide him a little dignity.”

Ambulances Transport Two Patients from Nation’s Largest Late-term Abortion Clinic in Albuquerque

gurneyatSWO03272014Project Defending Life is reporting that an ambulance was called yesterday to Southwestern Women’s Options, the nation’s largest late-term abortion clinic. A woman was transported to the UNM Medical Center for emergency treatment. Her condition is unknown.

Tara Shaver of Project Defending Life told Operation Rescue that pro-life activists on the scene who photographed the incident indicated that police were the first on the scene and attempted to aggressively persuade activists to leave the clinic area. When they stood on their First Amendment rights, the police retreated to their squad car and observed them while the ambulance was at the clinic.

This is the 16th medical emergency documented at Southwestern Women’s Options since 2008. The clinic is one of the few in the nation to conduct abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy and is staffed by California abortionists Shelley Sella and Susan Robinson, former associates of the notorious Kansas late-term abortionist George Tiller.

An ambulance arrived at Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and transported an abortion patient to UNM Medical Center at approximately 1:00 p.m. today, Friday, March 1, 2013.

This is the 14th medical emergency since November, 2008. The last medical emergency at SWO took place on February 7, 2013.

Operation Rescue is reporting that, Susan Robinson, was the abortionist on duty during the incident. Robinson and Sella, along with Maryland abortionist LeRoy Carhart and Colorado abortionist Warren Hern were featured in the widely publicized film “After Tiller” that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January. They are among the few who openly do third-trimester abortions.

Carhart also made recent headlines after one of his patients, 29-year old Jennifer Morbelli, died from complications to a 33-week abortion she received in Germantown, Maryland, on February 7. Carhart remains under multiple investigations.

Pro-life activist attacked outside abortion cli…, posted with vodpod

An anti-abortion protestor was attacked outside an abortion clinic in Albuquerque on Tuesday and the incident was caught on tape.

The victim, an activist, said the attack was unprovoked.

Bud Shaver said he was in the middle of a conversation with a woman, when he said she started kicking him and then cut his head with her keys.

“We were having a good conversation then all of a sudden she just started kicking me,” Shaver said.

The video, posted on YouTube.com, shows a woman yelling and hitting two people

. “She just started escalating into throwing punches with her fist and she had keys in her hands,” Shaver said.

He added that the whole thing happened so quickly, all he could do was defend himself. “There was nothing we could do, the only thing we could do was withstand the blows.”

In the YouTube video, Shaver shows the cut, calling it a “pretty significant wound.” It’s labeled on the video as a “deep bleeding gash.”

KOB Eyewitness News 4 got a look at the cut the day after the incident, showing a much improved laceration.

Heather Mills asked Shaver, “Do you think you’re blowing it a little out of proportion with the dangerousness of this attack?” Shaver told her, “No, the reason we responded the way we did with EMT and 9-11 was because my head was bleeding. I mean there was blood. I didn’t know the extent of the injuries that I had received.”

Albuquerque police said they receive a lot of complaints about Shaver’s protests at Southwestern Women’s Options, mostly because of the graphic nature of his signs.

APD officer Robert Gibbs said ultimately, it comes down to Shaver’s right to free speech.

“He was exercising his free speech that we are all allowed to with the First Amendment. That doesn’t mean you can get up and hit somebody or batter somebody,” Gibbs said.

APD said a criminal summons will be filed for the woman in the video.

She will be charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of battery.

APD expects those charges to be filed on Thursday and at that point they will release the woman’s name.

Southwestern Women’s Options decided not to comment on this story, but said Shaver protests at the clinic regularly.

According to Operation Rescue….the pro-choice attacker has been arrested by police:

An Albuquerque woman who violently attacked peaceful pro-life activists outside a late-tern abortion clinic on Tuesday has been apprehended by Albuquerque Police and charged with one count of battery and one count of aggravated battery. Police have not yet released her name.

“I received a call from the Assistant Police Chief, and was informed as to the status of the investigation,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “After that discussion, I was impressed at the professionalism of the Albuquerque Police and their commitment to stop violence like this in their community. We have been guaranteed that the woman will face a judge and be held accountable for her actions. We really appreciate the hard work they are doing to keep everyone safe.”

Shaver, who works with Project Defend Life, began videotaping after the attack began, but images he captured show an angry and violent flurry of punches and kicks as the pro-lifers threw up their arms in a defensive posture. After the attack, the woman walked into the abortion clinic but left a few moments later.

Previously, other attacks on pro-life activists included a man threatening them with a gun and another person who jumped the curb in an attempt to run over peaceful men and women.

Ironically, this attack occurred just days after Operation Rescue released a powerful 911 recording made from another abortion clinic in Albuquerque, UNM Center for Reproductive Health, where a woman could clearly be heard struggling for life.

Operation Rescue has also obtained a series of 911 emergency recordings made from Southwestern Women’s Options where the violent attack took place that clearly indicate life-threatening abortion complications that required emergency hospitalization. OR plans to release the first of these recordings later this week.
