Ryan Bomberger has written this great piece on Planned Parenthood’s research arm, The Guttmacher Institute.

You’ve Been Guttmacher’d: Planned Parenthood’s Baby
by Ryan Bomberger

Anytime journalists feel the need to reinforce unexamined Planned Parenthood statements, they pull the Guttmacher card. The Guttmacher Institute, founded by former Planned Parenthood President and former Vice President of the American Eugenics Society, Alan F. Guttmacher, is continually lavished with misleading credentials by mainstream media.
NPR and the Washington Post call it a “nonpartisan research group”. ABC and CNN refer to Guttmacher’s abortion activist staff as “researchers”. USA Today calls the public policy organization a “non-profit group that studies reproductive and sexual health”.

Where are all of the easy pejoratives like “extreme” or “anti-choice” and “partisan”? They’re just much easier to affix to groups like mine, The Radiance Foundation, that present the empirical evidence while opposing the destruction that abortion brings.

The Guttmacher Institute was birthed in 1968 as a research arm of Planned Parenthood. In the late 70s, for public relations and credibility issues, both organizations performed a public separation declaring that Guttmacher was no longer affiliated with Planned Parenthood (PPFA) in any way.

But the cord is still attached.

Despite this preposterous claim by Guttmacher’s President and CEO, Sharon Camp, this global pro-abortion extension of PPFA has been funded over $2.4 million by Planned Parenthood from 2004-2009. In an interview with CUNY TV , originally aired on December 15, 2010, Camp claims, “for the past 4 or 5 years, Guttmacher has been completely unaffiliated with Planned Parenthood.” Yet a quick look at the nation’s largest abortion chain’s 990 tax filings reveals how “completely unaffiliated” Guttmacher has been. Planned Parenthood, who receives over $360 million annual tax dollars, gave $2,142,076 of our tax dollars to their “research” arm, Guttmacher.

That’s a lot of unaffiliation! Most of us would love to be “unaffiliated” with large organizations with over $1 billion in asset, as long as it’s not PPFA of course. The corporate memo apparently didn’t get to PPFA as it listed Guttmacher, in its 2007 tax filing, as an “Independent Affiliated Organization”. Camp shows how pliable words can be; “unaffiliated” is a relative term just as the supposed “scientific research” Guttmacher provides for reproductive health issues.

This is the ongoing challenge with “reproductive rights” organizations. Truth doesn’t matter. Even easily provable things, like an organization’s ties with another, are distorted because the defense of abortion requires pathological behavior rooted in deceit.

Our society’s understanding of the current efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, which is not synonymous with defunding Title-X funded health facilities, has been profoundly and negatively impacted. Thanks to decades of indoctrination and obfuscation, most people have no idea who and what Planned Parenthood is. Mainstream media will not provide any scrutiny of the exaggerated claims of PPFA affiliates while Guttmacher has become the established authority despite voluminous contradictions and distortions (e.g. Guttmacher’s claim that “abortion services are concentrated in cities” then later reports, with no raw data, that abortion clinics are not mostly located in urban areas). Many journalists simply parrot what Guttmacher claims in dissonance-filled defenses of its parent organization.

So be aware when you’ve been Guttmacher’d. It blindsides you with alarming yet unqualified statistics (full of self-citations) and convincing buzzwords like “scientific” and “comprehensive”. When Guttmacher’s CEO cannot grasp simple math, like the difference between zero and $2.4 million, everything else should become suspect.
It’s ironic, though understandable, that the Guttmacher Institute’s umbilical cord hasn’t been cut. Planned Parenthood apparently still values the child it’s given birth to and wouldn’t dare end its life regardless of viability.

MEET ALAN GUTTMACHER:

Guttmacher Institute is the Research Arm for the largest provider of abortions nationally and internationally – Planned Parenthood and was named after one of Planned Parenthood’s President – Alan Guttmacher.

Alan Guttmacher , who was also a Vice President for the American Eugenics Society, said this in 1967– “ I oppose abortion on demand, at least now for the United States, there are several reason. First, the public does not want it… only 20 % of the public favors abortion for single women… Abortion on demand relives the male of all responsibility in the sphere of pregnancy control..he becomes and animal…not far removed from the status of a bull…I favor liberalization of existing [ abortion] statutes…” But…should Guttmacher be legally permitted to do abortions he continues, ” I would abort mothers already carrying three or more children…I would abort women who desire abortion who are drug addicts or severe alcoholics…I would abort women with sub-normal mentality incapable of providing satisfactory parental care…”
(Source; “Abortion: The Issues”, Dr. Alan Guttmacher – President, Planned Parenthood, December 4, 1967, Harvard Law School Forum)

In 1969, Alan Guttmacher as then President of Planned Parenthood-World Population, said this: “ I would like to give our voluntary means of population control full opportunity in the next 10 to 12 years. Then , if these don’t succeed, we may have to go into some kind of coercion, not worldwide, but possibly in such places as India, Pakistan, and Indonesia, where pressures are the greatest…There is no question that birth rates can be reduced all over the world if legal abortion is introduced…” ( SOURCE: Family Planning: The needa and the Methods, by: Alan F. Guttmacher; The American Journal of Nursing, Vol. 69, No. 6. (June, 1969) PP. 1229-1234)

And in February of 1970 Alan Guttmacher was interviewed by the Baltimore Magazine and said this
Our birth rate has come down since we last talked.. I think we’ve hit a plateau- the figure’s not likely to drop much more unless there is more legal abortion. , or abortion on request as we call it…My own feeling is that we’ve got to pull out all the stops and involve the United Nations…If you’re going to curb population, it’s extremely important not to have it done by the dammed Yankees, but by the UN. Because the thing is, then it’s not considered genocide. If the United States goes to the Black man or the yellow man and says slow down your reproduction rate, we’re immediately suspected of having ulterior motives to keep the white man dominant in the world. If you can send in a colorful UN force, you’ve got much better leverage.”

Simply listen to the words of Guttmacher told a symposium at the University of California Medical Center in 1966 he stated that, “the belief that the white middle class was coercing their own poor and people with black and yellow skins to reduce family size because the middle-class whites are frightened of being outnumbered.”

The only way the mounting feeling that birth control is a tool of racism can be handled, is to involve knowledgeable leaders from the minority groups who understand and are favorable to the philosophy of birth control. They, in turn, must translate their appreciation of the contribution which birth control can make toward family stability to their own people.” (SOURCE: New York Times: Doctor blames his profession for delays on Family Planning: 1/16/1966)

A stated goal of The Guttmacher Institute is legal abortion:

The Guttmacher Institute envisions a world in which all women and men have the ability to exercise their rights and responsibilities regarding sexual behavior, reproduction and family formation freely and with dignity. In this world, women and men in every country are able to avoid unwanted pregnancies, prevent and procure treatment for sexually transmitted infections, obtain safe abortions, achieve healthy pregnancies and births, and have satisfying sexual relationships.

REALLY? Well..in 1962, Vice President of the American Eugenics Society at the time, Dr. Alan Guttmacher said he wanted abortion laws patterned after Sweden and other nations. One reason they list to allow abortions is :EUGENIC ! Also- Guttmacher at this point says he does NOT BELIEVE that abortion should be left up to the patient or their doctor, rather it should be up to “Special Board” to approve the abortion. (Eugenic Board, perhaps?) ( The Miami News – Aug 12, 1962) Read Here ( Alan Guttmacher is a former Vice President of The American Eugenics Society and a Former President of Planned Parenthood)

From it’s beginning, Guttmacher and Planned Parenthood has been muddied up in eugenics and now abortion has been the tool used to drastically limit the Black and Latino populations.

According to a 2008 report by Planned Parenthood’s research arm The Guttmacher Institute:

The rate of abortion in the United States is at its lowest level since 1974, having declined 33% from a peak of 29 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15–44 in 1980 to 20 per 1,000 in 2004. However, this overall trend masks large disparities in rates of unintended pregnancy and abortion across demographic subgroups, according to Trends in the Characteristics of Women Obtaining Abortions, 1974 to 2004.

The analysis found positive trends, but highlights several issues of concern,” said Sharon Camp, Guttmacher Institute president and CEO. “Many Americans will welcome the news that there are fewer abortions, particularly among teens, and that a larger proportion of abortions are now happening very early in pregnancy. But at the same time, abortions are becoming more concentrated among women of color and low-income women. …”

Although abortion rates have declined among all racial and ethnic groups, large disparities persist, with Hispanic and black women obtaining abortions at rates three and five times higher, respectively, than non-Hispanic white women.

Abortions by Race and Ethnicity

In the early years of abortion data collection, women’s racial and ethnic classification was limited to “white” and “nonwhite,” with many Hispanic women categorized as “white.”* In the early 1970s, more than two-thirds of all women obtaining abortions were white (70%, not shown).

But beginning around 1980, the proportion of all abortions accounted for by nonwhite women began to increase steadily.

By 2004, 37% of abortions were obtained by black women,
34% by non-Hispanic white women,
22% by Hispanic women and
8% by women of races other than white and black

Of the racial and ethnic groups, non-Hispanic white women had the lowest abortion rate in 2004, 11 per 1,000.
Black women had the highest abortion rate.

Well – there you have it. The Guttmacher Institute was founded by former Planned Parenthood President Alan Guttmacher. Alan Guttmacher was also the former Vice -President of the American Eugenics Society.

Some accuse Planned Parenthood of deliberately trying to exterminate the Black Population by targeting African Americans.

Case in Point, I found this statement online:

Would you give money to the KKK? Why should any tax dollars go to an organization like Planned Parenthood whose founders were elitist eugenicists who wanted to eliminate entire groups of people? Planned Parenthood’s renowned founder, Margaret Sanger spoke to the KLAN and in Sanger’s own autobiography she openly admitted that she received an additional dozen invites from the Klan to speak with them.

Planned Parenthood icon, Margaret Sanger, had on her board Lothrop Stoddard an avowed racist whose books were used as text books by the Klan. Sanger not only founded Planned Parenthood, but was a card carrying member of the American Eugenics Society.

Alan Guttmacher, former Planned Parenthood Prez and (research arm of Planned Parenthood) was a Vice President of the American Eugenics Society.

In fact, many of Sanger’s board members were eugenic society members.

In fact, one of Planned Parenthood’s members was the former Arkansas Eugenics Society office under the direction of Mrs. Edward Cornish, also on the board.

It was the American Eugenics Society which influenced the Nazis under Hitler.

Margaret Sanger loved eugenics and the American Eugenics Society so much, that in her publications the Birth Control Review, she described a meeting with them to merge her publication with theirs.

That meeting was set-up by non other than Leon Whitney, a founder of the American Eugenics Society and a friend of the Planned Parenthood Founder who openly praised Hitler.

A recent Planned Parenthood President , Faye Wattleton, admitted on CNN that Planned Parenthood knowingly accepts money from racist people who want to see the black race eliminated all together. So why shouldn’t we protest them getting our tax dollars? We hate racism !

A new documentary on this subject attempts to sort all this out. It is called: Maafa21. http://www.maafa21.com
