No, the sky won’t fall if Planned Parenthood is defunded. Here’s why.

Posted in Cecile Richards, FQHC, Planned Parenthood and FQHC, Planned Parenthood three percent myth with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 3, 2017 by saynsumthn

If you listen to the pundits who support Planned Parenthood, the sky will surely fall if the abortion chain is defunded.

If even one Planned Parenthood affiliate or center has to close as a result of defunding, they say, the patients Planned Parenthood serves will have no access to health services elsewhere. This is utter nonsense, of course.

The claim that removing federal dollars from Planned Parenthood will shutter their doors is ludicrous. As Live Action News has previously reported, the organization’s own annual reports reveal that Planned Parenthood has been netting a profit for many years. Almost every year since 2000, Planned Parenthood’s revenue has exceeded their expenses — not just by a few dollars, but by tens of millions of dollars (yearly surpluses of $12.2 million in 2001 to a high of $155.5 million in 2010). In addition, with the threat of defunding now more real under the newly elected Congress and president, Planned Parenthood has repeatedly claimed that private donations are suddenly flooding into their coffers.

For the sake of argument, let’s imagine what would happen if we applied this same logic — that a profitable organization should be taxpayer funded, merely because closing would disenfranchise its customers — to any other business. Let’s suppose it was thought that department store chains should receive taxpayer funding because online sales are hurting chain stores’ business. The argument could be made that these department stores have served many people, that they are located in many disadvantaged communities, and that poor people who do not have internet access will be disenfranchised if these stores close. Should we then give these stores half a billion taxpayer dollars every year (the amount Planned Parenthood receives) to keep them open?

The truth is that there are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) already in place, which could serve the patients Planned Parenthood serves — outnumbering Planned Parenthood centers by the thousands (a 20 to 1 margin)– so why do Planned Parenthood spokespersons (many who earn six-figure salaries) want you to believe that American women could not survive without them?

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards has even made totally unsupported claims that millions would be without healthcare if Congress votes to defund Planned Parenthood. Richards recently told Rolling Stone:

This is literally whether a young man in Texas can come to us for an STI testing, or whether a woman who has a lump in her breast can come to us in Ohio to have a breast exam or be referred for screenings, or whether a college student or a young person anywhere in the country can come to us for family planning. We’re talking about more than a million-and-a-half people who rely on Planned Parenthood, and for most of them we’re their only medical provider. As all of the medical institutions have said: There’s no one to take our place providing low- and moderate-income people with preventive health care. There isn’t any other entity that is doing that work.

Interesting that she mentions the breast screenings, because Planned Parenthood, as Live Action has documented, does not do mammograms — but FQHCs do.

I am curious, however, as to how the defunding of Planned Parenthood would cause the apocalypse, but closures of other non-profits — specifically hospitals, which one could argue offer far more needed “services” — would not.

Let me explain.

According to a 2015 report published by the Journal for Health Affairs, patient health was not significantly compromised when hospitals closed. The Non-Profit Quarterly reports pointed out with regards to the study that “vulnerable hospitals that have not been financially sustainable, with operating margins of ‑20% on average, have been the first to close, causing public concern that displaced patients will experience declining health and even death when access to care goes away.”

Despite this concern, the 2015 study found “no significant difference between the change in annual mortality rates for patients living in hospital service areas (HSAs) that experienced one or more closures and the change in rates in matched HSAs without a closure…. Nor was there a significant difference in the change in all-cause mortality rates following hospitalization….”

The unknown in the study was how the closures affected low income patients. But according to Non-Profit Quarterly:

Researchers reported that among Medicare patients there were no substantial changes in admissions, lengths of stay, or readmissions, but also cautioned that the study should not be interpreted to mean that every hospital loss is harmless….

While the study supports the argument that access to care has improved, the data does not, however, tell the whole story. One-third of institutions that were closed were “safety net” hospitals that treated large numbers of low-income and uninsured people. Since only easily-accessed Medicare patient information was reviewed, impact on those populations is still unknown.

Unknown? A study of three hospital closures from 2015, conducted by the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured and the Urban Institute, actually found that lower income and elderly patients were negatively affected and “were more likely to face transportation challenges and thus more likely to delay or forgo needed care.”

A photo of the clinics that outnumber Planned Parenthood 20 to 1.

But in Planned Parenthood’s case, there are already hundreds of FQHC alternatives available, open and ready to serve the public. A December 2015 Congressional Research Service report which compared the services of Planned Parenthood Federation of America-affiliated health centers (PPAHC) to those of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) found…

  • FQHCs are required to provide primary, preventive, and emergency health services.
  • FQHCs focus on providing more comprehensive primary care, dental, and behavioral health services.
  • FQHCs provide far more services in a given year than do PPAHCs.
  • PPAHCs focus their services on individuals of reproductive age; FQHCs provide services to individuals throughout their lifetimes.
  • FQHCs served 22.9 million people in 2014; PPAHCs served 2.7 million.
  • 358 counties have both a PPAHC and a FQHC.
  • FQHCs also receive federal grants that require them to provide family planning (among other services) to Medicaid beneficiaries.

Planned Parenthood and its supporters want the public to believe that only Planned Parenthood is able to care for the needs of the 2.5 million patients they “serve.” And they will suggest that if they are defunded and close facilities, the hundreds of FQHC that replace them (already in existence and serving patients, mind you) will be overwhelmed with patient influx, thus unable to address the many needs. (This was the same fear that plagued Democrats when they passed the Affordable Care Act, yet they argued that the system would be more than able to handle that influx.)

A study on the effects of the Affordable Care Act, conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and health care company Athenahealth, which gathered data from 15,700 of Athenahealth’s clients, found that new patient visits to primary care physicians only increased slightly. It was anticipated that uninsured patients now gaining insurance might have unmet medical needs, and their demand for services might overwhelm the capacity of primary care doctors. But according to the study, this idea proved false. Kathy Hempstead, director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, told USA Today that the study “suggests that, even though there’s been a big increase in coverage, it’s a relatively small part of the market and the delivery system is able to handle the demand.”

For years, Planned Parenthood has been closing centers despite a steady increase in funding under the Obama administration. The Congressional Research Service found that the number of PPHAC affiliates and facilities has declined since 2009-2010, when PPFA reported having 88 affiliates (a 32 percent decline) and 840 health centers (a 21 percent decline). And, as of December 20, 2016, there are now only 650 Planned Parenthood centers, indicating a 22.67 percent decline.

In addition, Planned Parenthood patients have also decreased over the years. In 2014, Planned Parenthood saw 2.5 million patients — down a whopping 24.24 percent since 1996, when they saw 3.3 million and received far less government funding ($177.5 million in 1996 compared to $553.7 million in 2014). In contrast, FQHCs have increased the number of patients seen in each year since 2009. From 2009 to 2014, FQHC patients increased from 18.9 million to 22.9 million.

Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortion in the nation. Live Action has documented how Planned Parenthood manipulates its own data to cover up the fact that abortion – not women’s health care – accounts for the lion’s share of the corporation’s services for pregnant women.

Defunding the largest chain of abortion clinics will not send millions of patients to their demise — and Planned Parenthood knows this. The truth is that taxpayer dollars can be better spent on real health care organizations that will serve the American public and maintain the sanctity of life in the process.

Pro-life Ohio Senate candidate criticizes “establishment GOP” and state pro-life group for endorsing opponent

Posted in Janet Porter with tags , , , , , , , on February 26, 2016 by saynsumthn

A shocking video uploaded by pro-life leader Janet Folger Porter, who is running for the Senate in the state of Ohio, not only challenges the pro-life stand of her opponent, Larry Obhof, but that of the pro-life group which has endorsed him.

Janet Folger IVoter

Although Porter served as Legislative Director of Ohio Right to Life (1988-1997) where she successfully lobbied for passage of the nation’s first Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, which sparked the national debate in Congress and throughout the country, Ohio Right to Life PAC is endorsing her opponent Larry Obhof, who she says has refused to pass the most pro-life bill ever before the Ohio legislature. The organization was founded by the grandfather of the pro-life movement, the late Dr. Jack Wilke.

Porter’s pro-life resume is long and includes the passage of the Woman’s Right to Know Law (Informed Consent & 24 hour waiting period), Parental Consent, Fetal Homicide, Clinic Regulations, Adoption Reform, Patient Protection from starvation & dehydration, and removed abortion funding. She has been endorsed by James Dobson, Gov. Mike Huckabee and Phyllis Schlafly, among others.

Porter is critical of Ohio Right to Life for their endorsement of Obhof after he failed to pass the pro-life Heartbeat Bill, which she authored. And, she is not alone. She has assembled former Board members to speak out against the ORTL endorsement in a video she has uploaded to YouTube:

In her video, Ernie Saunders, a former board member of Ohio Right to Life and a supporter of Porter, now calls the organization, which has endorsed Porter’s opponent, “Ohio right to regulate.”

In addition, a former Ohio Right to Life PAC member also criticizes the organization, “They will endorse less pro-life people over more pro-life people…” states Lori Viars, a former PAC member who supports Porter.

Janet Folger Porter of Senate District 22, pro-life champion, nationwide leader on the pro-life issue not endorsed over a guy who refused to help pass the Heartbeat Bill. It’s just very very sad,” she added.

“Janet Folger Porter is interested in stopping the baby killing not regulating them,” Rep. Nino Vitale from Ohio District 85 states.

Before founding Faith2Action, Janet served from 1997-2002 as the National Director of the Center for Reclaiming America, founded by Dr. D. James Kennedy where she hosted Reclaiming America with Janet Folger, a 60-second commentary that aired daily on 550 radio and TV stations and received the National Religious Broadcasters’ “Genesis Award,” as well as the Excellence In Media “Silver Angel Award.“

Funding Planned Parenthood is as simple as Black and White

Know the Facts- Watch Maafa21

Tom Metzger, the former Klan leader promotes the pushing of abortion clinics in Black Neighborhoods. From Metzger: “…abortion and birth control should be promoted as a powerful weapon, in the limitation of non-White birth. “

If a White Supremacists Klan leader knows that abortion is Black Genocide it needs to be opposed:

2011– “I’m not calling them [abortion] clinics. They are slaughterhouses. We have got to do something. My problem today with the African-American community, whether it be clergy or otherwise, we don’t fight anymore.”” Bishop Aretha Morton of Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral near Wilmington. (Delaware Online here )

2011– “Let’s be clear. Funding Planned Parenthood with U.S. taxpayer dollars is equivalent to justifying the use of tax dollars to help the Ku Klux Klan buy rope so they can secure their victims in the backs of their wagons.” Walter Hoye of the Issues4Life Foundation

2011The Rev. Michael Pressley of the Mount Zion Church of God in Christ called abortion “the No. 1 cause of death in black families.” “How many doctors, lawyers, teachers, preachers, teachers and presidents have been lost?” he asked. “What can we do to stop this assault in black America and America as a whole?” ( Source Here)

2011– “Under the guise of family planning, black babies have been aborted at 5x the rate of whites, yet Planned Parenthood clamors for more, wanting taxpayer dollars to continue funding their genocidal agenda. As they rush to turn 100% of their clinics into abortion mills and build larger facilities in urban areas where blacks reside, it is clear they are carrying out their founder’s Negro Project, designed to control black births.” Arnold Culbreath of Protecting Black Life.

2011: Kevin McGary, author of “Instanity!, “Abortion has everything to do with human right, it has everything to do with civil rights, it has everything to do with social justice. If you’re sincere about racism, this is the pivotal issue.” McGary estimated that 94 percent of Planned Parenthood’s clinics are placed in African American neighborhoods. “Forty percent of all abortions are being performed on African American children,” he said. Noting African Americans make up 12 percent of the population, and estimating that women of childbearing age make up 3 percent of the population, “23 million people have been denied life,” he said. “How can we have principled people that ignore this issue?” he asked, noting that the NAACP, Congressional Black Caucus and council of black churches remain silent on the issue of abortion. ( The Catholic Voice: Oakland right to life rally calls attention to ‘black genocide’)

2011– Rev.-Dr. Christopher A. Bullock, pastor/founder of Canaan Baptist Church in New Castle, DE , said the African-American community is “under siege homicide, suicide and abortion, not to mention HIV/AIDS.” “This is the formula for genocide,” Bullock said. “The Black Church must tell the truth to our young people that life is worth living. Life needs to focus on faith, hope and love. Any other path will lead to self-destruction.” ( Press Release)

2011: Planned Parenthood targets minorities, especially blacks, for abortions, by locating clinics in minority neighborhoods.
You are dealing with genocide, the killing of African- Americans. There is a conspiracy to target African-Americans from society as a whole.”” said James Tucker, publisher of the Springs-based monthly African American Voice, a former head of the local NAACP chapter. ” (SOURCE: Gazette, The (Colorado Springs), Jan 13, 2011)

2011– “My friend Ryan Bomberger waxed eloquent today when he said: “Abolitionists didn’t settle for slavery reduction; many risked their reputations and their very lives to call for the end of a system of human degradation, not its continuation through appeasement and mutual understanding. Oh, what happens to a society that can’t even act against the most blatant form of evil?” Brothers, we need to talk.” Rev. Walter Hoye referring to abortion

2011-“If silence is indeed consent the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP have not only consented to Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry’s murder of black babies, but are complicit in the horrific reality of genocide of their own people,” said Walter Hoye of Issues4Life Foundation.

2011-“The Congressional Black Caucus has a 100% voting record in favor of taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood. This is a travesty in light of Planned Parenthood’s targeting of the black community since its inception as a means of population control.” Will Ford of Ex Ministries

2011– “The documentary film, “Maafa 21: Black Genocide in 21st Century America” exposes the evil and ongoing ties between racism, eugenics, population control, forced sterilization and ultimately, abortion. We pray for a softening of the hardened hearts of the people who work, volunteer or provide services in the abortion mills. Making a killing is NOT a way to make a LIVING.” –Connie Eller, Missouri Blacks for Life http://www.MissouriBlacksForLife.org

2011– “Regarding abortion, we in the black community have been hiding our heads in a pot of collards for too long!”That’s a white thing”, we say. “We don’t kill our own!”, is another. The sad fact is we do and as long as the spiritual, political, cultural and media gatekeepers, cut-off the information we need- abortion will continue. We are a resilient people, we’re still here, but if this keeps up there will be a lot fewer of us!”– Rev. Brian Walker, Program Director Pro-Life Action Ministries & Co-Founder of Everlasting Light Ministries (St. Paul, MN)

2010 – Dr. Alveda King: “Abortion is genocide, it’s killing populations. It’s killing generations and certainly the population that is most impacted by abortion in America is the black community. So I feel that as a civil rights leader I have responsibility to proclaim that black Americans are being exterminated by the genocidal acts of abortion.” ( SOURCE: Naples Daily News: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece speaks about injustice of abortions at Ave Maria 6/20/1010)

2010“Margaret Sanger is only one of a long list of people in the New World Order’s plans, which will eliminate countless millions of people of color,” The Rev. Ralph Bradley, pastor of Eternal Light Church in Cantonsaid. “If the New World Order members can continue in the financial banking fraud in the U.S. and around the world, abortion will be only one way to get rid of what Henry Kissinger calls ‘useless eaters.’ ” (SOurce: CantonRep.com: Minorities split over history, goal of abortion; 5/26/2010)

2010: “Racism and abortion are twins in many other ways. Racism springs from the lie that certain human beings are less than fully human. It’s a self-centered falsehood that corrupts our minds into believing we are right to treat others as we would not want to be treated. So it is with abortion. ” (Dr. Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King)

2010 ” Perhaps there is nothing more sinister than a deception designed to cause those targeted to participate in a deep dark plot to facilitate in their own demise. This is exactly what’s happening to black people in America through the efforts of the eugenics movement, Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry…The eugenicists and Planned Parenthood are winning the day. When will we push back against these elitists and stop our extermination?” (Pastor Stephen Broden, Dallas, TX)

2010: Pastor James Leak III, MA, Executive Pastor New Harvester International Ministries (N.H.I.M), “Studies of the shift in the abortion demographics from 1974 until 2004, and the purposeful location of abortion clinics in minority communities, corroborate “MAAFA 21’s” claims that black babies are a target of black genocide.”

2010: Dean Nelson, executive director for the Network of Politically Active Christians, dubbed the Planned Parenthood “Klan Parenthood,” saying it locates clinics in minority communities…” ( The Virginia Pilot )

2010: Pastor Isham Harris (Upper Room Home Church) speaks on the beauty of life despite the prevalence of abortion. Pastor Harris led the first ever March For Life at Planned Parenthood ( the Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider) down Martin Luther King Jr. Way in NE Portland in 2009. (Watch it on YouTube)

2010: “Abortion providers are still being located for the most part in black neighborhoods and are still delivering the same old message–that black, poor children, living in urban areas–are not worthy of life. America would be a better place without black people. The KKK brutally killed about 3500 black people since it began in 1865–Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood is responsible for the more than 17 million black deaths since 1973. ” ( Day Gardner National Black Pro-Life Union)

2010: “Today, this African American pastor is declaring war against Planned Parenthood,” said Rev. Joe Ellison, vice president of the Council on Biblical Principles. “We’re asking pastors to shut them down in their communities. We’re asking pastors to pray them out and we’re asking Planned Parenthood to leave our children alone.”

2010: “There are conspiracy theories about AIDS and crack cocaine being intentionally inflicted on Blacks. What about abortion? Is there a secret KKK-Planned Parenthood alliance to extinguish the Black race in America? It’s unlikely the Grand Imperial Wizard has clandestine meetings with the president of the nation’s largest abortion provider, but Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger did once address the women’s auxiliary of the KKK…Surely no one now still thinks the same way as Sanger, right? Wrong. Just recently, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in an New York Times interview: “Frankly, I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.” ( R. Dozier Gray , member of the national advisory council for the Project 21 Black leadership network)

2010: Chicago Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Perry describes in a written statement/talk how the black community in general has been profoundly affected by abortion. Bishop Perry, who is African-American, writes: “Abortion killed at least 203,991 blacks in the 36 states and two cities (New York City and the District of Columbia) that reported abortions by race in 2005, according to the CDC. During that same year, according to the CDC, a total of 198,385 blacks nationwide died from heart disease, cancer, strokes, accidents, diabetes, homicide and chronic lower respiratory diseases combined. These were the seven leading causes of death charted for black Americans that year.” Bishop Perry also notes that the abortion industry specifically targets the black community. He writes: “Dr. Alveda King, niece of slain Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is a pro-life activist. In August 2007, she told a meeting of Priests for Life ‘those abortionists plant their killing centers in minority neighborhoods and prey upon women who think they have no hope…. the great irony is that abortion has done what the Klan only dreamed of.” http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/abbott/100312

2010: “Black Americans were brought to America in chains. After emancipation, we were subject to unfair laws restricting promised freedoms. Discrimination further robbed us of opportunity. Now, even with a level playing field, abortion is still pushing blacks into a corner. While the United States economy remains on the brink, blacks – who, as a community, are making their way up the socio-economic ladder – stand to lose the most. In promoting abortion, there is much more to lose than just our morality. Our very futures may lie in the balance. ( Mychal Massie , chairman of the black leadership network Project 21)

2010: “This radical group was founded by Margaret Sanger (an avowed racist) for the purpose of bringing systematic genocide to “undesirable races of people.” (African American Bill Randall candidate for Congress (North Carolina)

2010- “Yes, I think they target black neighborhoods and black women, Hispanics and poor people,” said Cecil Clark, pastor of True Vine Baptist Church, a black congregation , “We stand for not aborting babies, period. We’re concerned about all kids, regardless of what their color is.” ( SOURCE: KnoxNews.com, Some say Planned Parenthood relocation to East Knox racially motivated , March 13, 2010)

2010 – “I believe it’s because those clinics were deliberately located in black neighborhoods and that the community is being targeted. That’s what I believe, and that’s the message I’m bringing to Knoxville,” said Davis in a phone interview. “I tell you my heart is absolutely broken at the numbers of blacks that are dying.” ( SOURCE: KnoxNews.com, Some say Planned Parenthood relocation to East Knox racially motivated , March 13, 2010)

2010 “Seventy-eight percent of all Planned Parenthood’s clinics – abortuaries as I call them – are located in minority neighborhoods. The targeting of African-Americans has now been documented,” ( founder of http://www.blackgenocide.org website, Rev. Dr. Clenard H. Childress Jr., )

2010: “During the Civil Rights movement African-American’s were willing to be hosed down by Fire Departments, bitten by dogs, beaten by police officers, unjustly incarcerated, financially ruined and lynched by racist white folk to secure access to water fountains, restrooms and seats in the front of the bus…Today an African-American child has less than a 50% chance of being born.Every 72 seconds an African-American baby’s life is terminated by abortion.” ( African American Pastor, Walter Hoye)

2010: “Reciting facts such as “abortion is the leading cause of death in the black community,” and “black women are three times more likely to be sold an abortion than her white counterpart” didn’t seem adequate to break through the veneer that covered the eyes of black liberals and caused them to view abortion as more a basic right than an instrument of racist evil. To be honest, I began to give up hope that anything we could present would ever be enough to break through the deep-rooted skepticism that was manifesting itself in illogical political alliances between perpetrators and victims in defense of legalized abortion. Until I saw Maafa 21.” (Reverend Ceasar I. LeFlore III)

2010: “Abortion is the #1 killer of blacks in America and no one talks about it. Preachers/polititicians/Obama: no one talks about it. They just sweep it under the rug. As blacks we need to fight or else we’re going to be extinct. Check out Maafa21.”

2005– In a recent survey of 500 black Americans, only half believed that the government tells the truth about the safety and side effects of new birth control methods.
Birth control conspiracy theories still affect the use of birth control by black men and women, according to a study reported in the latest issue of the journal Health Education and Behavior.
One-third of participants of the telephone survey said that medical institutions use poor and minority people as “guinea pigs”to try out new birth control methods, according to study authors Sheryl Thorburn of Oregon State University and Laura Bogart of the Rand Corporation. Substantial numbers of those surveyed also believed that the government uses birth control as a way to control the black population in America. Almost a quarter of those surveyed agreed that “poor and minority women are sometimes forced to be sterilized by the government”, while 22 percent agreed that “the government’s family planning policies are intended to control the number of Black people.”

1999– A controversial program to decrease the number of children born addicted to crack is sparking both cheers and cries of genocide. Called CRACK (Children Requiring a Caring Kommunity), the California- based group pays crack-addicted women and men $200 to be sterilized or go on a long-term birth-control method. Barbara Harris, the organization’s founder, acknowledges that her program is controversial, including the recent firestorm in Oakland, Calif., when a CRACK billboard was pulled down by an angry crowd. The crowd accused Harris’ group of racism and attempting to neuter the poor. ( SOURCE: Topeka Capitol Journal, Birth control? Or controlling poor population? 11/1/1999)

1990– According to The Advocate in Baton Rouge, LA, (Farrakhan chides blacks for self-destructive attitude Author: EDWARD PRATT :4/19/1990) In a speech at Southern University’s Activity Center Farrakhan suggested that abortion is a tool used by the government to stem the growth of the black population. “Why is it that they come into your neighborhood with planned parenthood?” he asked. He warned the black women that “the one you abort could be the one” to lead black people. Farrakhan said his mother used a hanger three times in an attempt to abort him.

1983– A study conducted in Waller County , Texas, which had a 52% Black population rate, The study found that a substantial percentage of the respondents indicated agreement with each of the following genocidal statements: 5> Birth control programs are a plot to eliminate Blacks; (45.3% agreed)

Eugenics founded Planned Parenthood lobbyist and past Republican political aide now chief of staff for Democratic Senator

Connecticut Senate-elect, Richard Blumenthal’s chief of staff, Laurie Rubiner has an interesting career path including being a lobbyist for the eugenics founded abortion performing: Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood describes Ms. Rubiner’s accomplishments this way, “Laurie Rubiner is vice president for public policy for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), the nation’s leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider. Ms. Rubiner leads the organization’s implementation of national and state strategies for improved public policies through government relations, grassroots organizing, litigation, and political affairs….From 2005–2008 she served as legislative director for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, and was responsible for the development and management of the senator’s legislative and policy agenda. She was one of the lead members of the team that helped craft the senator’s health care reform agenda that became a key plank of her 2008 presidential campaign.”

And this, “Prior to working with Sen. Clinton, Rubiner directed health care policy and health insurance issues with both the New America Foundation and the National Partnership for Women and Families. For nearly a decade, she served as the legislative assistant and senior policy advisor to the late Senator John Chafee (R-RI). In this capacity she worked on several issues of interest to PPFA, including the Title X Family Planning Amendments of 1989, which provided federally funded family planning clinics the ability to inform pregnant women of all their health care options, including abortion. “

Rubiner has stated, “Abortion is a legal medical procedure in this country, and therefore Planned Parenthood believes it should be part of the health care system.”

The CT Mirror reports that Rubiner got her start in politics by “happenstance,” she says, soon after she graduated from college. A family friend offered her an internship with then-Sen. Bob Dole, a Republican from Kansas who eventually went on to become the Senate Majority Leader and run for president, unsuccessfully, against Bill Clinton.

She loved the work, if not Dole’s politics. “When I came of age politically… I figured out he wasn’t really consistent with my views,” she said. “But he was a wonderful man, very funny, and very good to me… It was a great introduction to politics.

She was much more in tune with her next boss, the late Sen. John Chafee, a moderate Republican from Rhode Island. She spent nine years as his legislative assistant, focusing on health care and women’s issues, among other things.

After a brief respite from Capitol Hill, she returned in 2005 to work as then-Sen. Hillary Clinton’s top legislative and policy aide. In that role, Rubiner helped craft the health care reform proposal that Clinton made a centerpiece of her 2008 presidential bid.

In 2008, Rubiner, who is married to a high-tech entrepreneur and has an 18-year-old daughter, decided she was done with the political “slog” of the Senate. But she wanted to keep working on health reform, and decided the best place to do that was Planned Parenthood.

“Planned Parenthood is really the coming together of the things I care most about,” she said.

REALLY???? Just what does Planned Parenthood care about? Let’s take a look:

Planned Parenthood, is an organization founded on racist eugenic principles whose beloved founder, Margaret Sanger, was a member of the extremely racist American Eugenics Society.

Sanger selected board members who were known for their racist and eugenic writings and Sanger published them in her publication The Birth Control Review.

Sanger, this so-called compassionate and caring person only interested in women’s rights… called for what she deemed as “unfit” parents to have a QUOTE: LICENSE TO BREED controlled by people who believed in her eugenic philosophy. She wanted all would be parents to go before her eugenic boards to request a “PERMIT TO BREED“.

Margaret Sanger once said, “More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

In Margaret Sanger’s, “Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Feb 1919. Birth Control Review , Library of Congress Microfilm 131:0099B .
Sanger states, “Before eugenists and others who are laboring for racial betterment can succeed, they must first clear the way for Birth Control. Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit. Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods.

Eugenists emphasize the mating of healthy couples for the conscious purpose of producing healthy children, the sterilization of the unfit to prevent their populating the world with their kind and they may, perhaps, agree with us that contraception is a necessary measure among the masses of the workers, where wages do not keep pace with the growth of the family and its necessities in the way of food, clothing, housing, medical attention, education and the like.

We who advocate Birth Control, on the other hand, lay all our emphasis upon stopping not only the reproduction of the unfit but upon stopping all reproduction when there is not economic means of providing proper care for those who are born in health. While I personally believe in the sterilization of the feeble-minded, the insane and syphilitic, I have not been able to discover that these measures are more than superficial deterrents when applied to the constantly growing stream of the unfitEugenics without Birth Control seems to us a house builded upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit…

Sanger also called for those who were poor and what she considered to be “morons and immoral‘ , to be shipped to colonies where they would live in “Farms and Open Spaces” dedicated to brainwashing these so-called “inferior types” into having what Sanger called, “Better moral conduct”.

I consider that the world and almost our civilization for the next twenty-five years, is going to depend upon a simple, cheap, safe contraceptive to be used in poverty stricken slums, jungles, and among the most ignorant people. Even this will not be sufficient, because I believe that now, immediately, there should be national sterilization for certain dysgenic types of our population who are being encouraged to breed and would die out were the government not feeding them.
Planned Parenthood Founder, Margaret Sanger, 1950

Today..Planned Parenthood’s top award is called the Margaret Sanger Award, despite the fact that Sanger was an admitted Klan speaker. Sanger bragged about this achievement and wrote about it in her own autobiography. This is what Sanger wrote in her autobiography, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366)

Despite the fact that Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider…and Planned Parenthood was founded on eugenics…Rubiner , now chief of staff for an elected Senator, praises them.

Wake up people…educate yourselves ….to get the full picture of the evil founding of Planned Parenthood please watch the powerful documentary Maafa21 (clip below)

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bill Binnie: I…, posted with vodpod

Binnie in crosshairs of conservative group

CONCORD – A conservative group’s paid media campaign against Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bill Binnie continues today with the premiere of a television ad calling him “shockingly liberal.”

New Hampshire-based Cornerstone Action has been joined in the latest hit on businessman Binnie by the New Jersey-based National Organization for Marriage in what Cornerstone executive director Kevin Smith said is a $125,000 a buy on WMUR and cable outlets statewide.

Smith said the ad is scheduled to air from today through next Tuesday. It follows a Cornerstone-produced radio ad with a similar message that aired from July 22 to 28.
“Much like the radio ad, this television ad is to point people to the fact that Bill Binnie is not a conservative,” said Smith. “He keeps saying he is, but he’s not, in his own words.”

He said Cornerstone Action was “bolstered by the response to the radio ad,” which included several news stories in state and national media and Cornerstone’s “best fundraising week in the last six months.”

Binnie blamed the ad on GOP primary foe Kelly Ayotte.

“It’s clear this ad is backed by Kelly Ayotte’s supporters,” he said. “It’s a dirty trick and grossly misleading. Shame on her.”

Smith said Cornerstone Action’s PAC has no plans to endorse a candidate in the seven-candidate GOP Senate primary “at this point.”

The only candidate it has endorsed so far is Jennifer Horn in the 2nd District U.S. House GOP primary.

The new television ad cites Binnie’s pro-choice and pro-same sex marriage positions and an online news story in which Binnie said that although he would have voted against the Barack Obama-backed health care bill he “saw elements that he liked including insurance exchanges.”

In the ad, Binnie is shown telling the Hillsborough County Republican Committee in January that he is pro-choice as an announcer says “Binnie supports abortion to avoid the expense of disabled children.”

The accusation is based on Binnie’s word in a video of the January meeting.

The video shows Binnie saying that before one of his children was born his wife “had a positive amniocentesis test. We were going to have a special needs child.”
He went on to say, “Now in my wife’s case, in my case, we could afford it and I thought about it and we had that child. Because I can afford it and my family was old enough to sit down and talk about it.”

As it turned out, he said, “We were very blessed and in a one in 100 chance, we had what’s called a false positive and our child was born healthy.”

He said that as a result he is pro-choice because “a government has no place in that decision.”

The Cornerstone ad also alleges that Binnie is “excited about gay marriage,” citing a Concord Monitor story from November 2009.

In that story, Binnie’s former spokesman, Colin Maynard, is quoted as saying that Binnie is “excited (New Hampshire’s same-sex marriage law) chose to give an option for gay couples to identify themselves as married within the law, but also having an opt-out for churches.”

The ad also alleges that Binnie has said “he’s open to imposing” a value-added tax.

It cites a video of Binnie speaking in Windham in May, in which he says, “I’m looking for a value-added tax.”

A Binnie spokesman said at the time Binnie does not support a value added tax.

The ad also cites a Chicago Tribune story written in 2003, in which Binnie, then an independent, says, “I don’t like the Republican Party.”

The ad concludes, “With these shockingly liberal positions, it’s no wonder Bill Binnie says he doesn’t like the Republican Party.”

House Passes DISCLOSE Act: Pro-Life/Grassroots Muzzle Bill Goes to Senate

Critics on both left and right say act will disable grassroots political voices, including Tea Party movement

By Peter J. Smith
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 24, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – With a political audacity that has become characteristic since the caustic health care debates, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives voted Thursday to approve a campaign finance disclosure bill that critics on both the left and the right say will disable grassroots political voices – including the nascent “Tea Party” movement that has been looking to sweep away liberal incumbents in November.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., the House voted 219-206 to approve H.R. 5175, the “Democracy is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections (DISCLOSE) Act,” which the National Right to Life Committee, other pro-life, pro-family groups, and even the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) have condemned as a threat to free speech and free participation in the political process. (See how your representative voted here.)

The Act would force grassroots organizations to release the names of donors and members into a publicly searchable database maintained by the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). Opponents of the bill say it would frustrate the ability of grassroots entities to communicate effectively with the public about public policy.
“This is a blatant attack on our organizations, members, and donors,” said Douglas Johnson, NRLC’s Legislative Director. “National Right to Life will do everything possible to keep this bill from coming out of the Senate.”

Johnson said that stopping the Senate from approving its version (S 3295) of the DISCLOSE Act is “a jump ball.”

“I think we have to take it very seriously. There are already 50 cosponsors of the bill in the Senate. But as you know, the Senate has different rules, and we will certainly do our best to persuade any Senator who will listen that this bill is unconstitutional, unprincipled, and nakedly partisan.”

Should the Senate approve the DISCLOSE Act, and should it be signed into law by President Barack Obama, the act would take effect in 30 days, even if the Federal Elections Commission has not yet crafted new guidelines – just in time for the mid-term elections in November.

During the one-hour debate on the bill, Rep. Dan Lungren expressed outrage that unlike every other campaign finance bill passed by the House, this bill has no provision for expedited judicial review. He said the lack of such a provision makes it clear the DISCLOSE Act is meant to influence the outcome of the 2010 midterm elections.
He also expressed frustration that so little time was given the House to debate a matter impacting Americans’ First Amendment rights.

“We have spent 40 hours in this Congress naming post offices. Can’t we spend a little time protecting the Constitution of the United States?” Lungren exclaimed.
“We’re talking about political speech: the essence of the First Amendment.”

Under the bill, all groups subject to the law’s requirements – including most 501(c)4, 501(c)5, 501(c)6, and 527 groups – would have to list all donors of $600 or more with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Groups must also post a hyperlink on their website to the FEC, where a list of the names of their donors can be accessed.
But the DISCLOSE Act exempts large 501(c)4 groups – like the 4 million strong NRA and 750,000 member Sierra Club – from having to report their donors if they have at least 500,000 members, over 10 years of existence, chapters in all 50 states, and receive no more than 15% of total contributions from corporations.

Unions also have significant exemptions. Most union dues are under $600 dollars, and so do not have to be reported. Union to union money transfers also do not have to be disclosed.

In a letter to Congress, the ACLU noted the irony that a bill ostensibly dedicated to uprooting corruption in the political process would exempt entrenched “mainstream” political interests from its reporting requirements, while “smaller organizations and those just starting out would have to disclose their donors in order to engage in political speech.”

“Those groups not challenging the status quo would be protected; those challenging the status quo would be suppressed,” they concluded.

House members had virtually no time to read the final version of the bill approved yesterday behind closed doors by the House Rules Committee. Instead of waiting for Congressmen and their staff to analyze the final bill, the Democrat leadership forced through today’s vote today by invoking a “Martial Law Rule.”

The Martial Law Rule dispenses with a longstanding House rule (Rule XIII(6)(a)) intended to give U.S. Representatives and the public enough time to understand significant legislation. The rule requires that there be at least one day between a bill’s unveiling and the House floor vote, and can only be suspended if two-thirds of the House agrees – but the Martial Law Rule dispenses with that process entirely.

Critics on both the left and the right have denounced the tactic, saying it empowers a party’s leadership to act in an authoritarian manner and endangers democratic self-government by forcing members to vote blindly on measures demanded by their leaders.

The bill requires that every time an organization runs a campaign ad, its CEO must appear in the ad and twice state his name and the organization’s name. The top five funders of the organization behind the ad – even if they had nothing to do with the ad’s funding – must also have their names listed in the ad.

In addition, the most “significant” donor to the organization must list his name, rank, and organization three times in the ad.

Critics of the bill say that the disclaimers effectively devour valuable airtime bought by these groups that would otherwise be used to inform voters about a candidate’s record.

“We’re getting a little silly here. We’re talking about making disclaimers that are going to take the entire time of a commercial,” stated Rep. Lungren during debate.
He also expressed grave concern that individuals – with names and addresses publicly available – would be subject to reprisals for making a political statement. He pointed to the situation in California, where supporters of Proposition 8 have been victims of reprisals by homosexualist activists.

“We are chilling speech already, and now we are getting into direct intimidation by requiring the residence of people living there,” he said.

Other affected entities under the bill will likely include vocal liberal and conservative groups that communicate through the internet. While traditional media organizations like newspapers and television stations are exempt from the bill, bloggers, the vanguard of the “new media,” are not.
