Group seeking to ‘win justice’ for people of color joins with group aborting them

Planned Parenthood, with its deep ties to the eugenics movement, is behind yet another attempt to reach people of color. According to an April 2018 USA Today article, “Planned Parenthood Votes, Center for Community Change Action, Color Of Change PAC and the Service Employees International Union are behind the ‘Win Justice’ program….” What USA Today doesn’t say is that pro-abortion billionaire George Soros is the one funding “Win Justice” — which the IRS shows was set up in March — to the tune of $3 million dollars. A March 2018 search at the FEC website revealed Soros was the only contributor at that time. What’s more, as of the writing of this article, reports show funds have not been spent on specific campaigns. Rather, the money received by “Win Justice” is going to Planned Parenthood.

Image: Win Justice Planned Parenthood Soros MoneyThe “Win Justice” effort was announced in April and includes a $30 million investment in a joint political campaign. According to CNN, Planned Parenthood’s share of those dollars is $20 million.

Since April, additional donations trickled in — some from Soros family members and $1 million from the SEIU. The July 2018 report shows “Win Justice” disbursed $301,000 to Planned Parenthood Votes.

SEIU’s involvement is no mystery. The SEIU is a major funder of left-wing organizations and is well-known for promoting abortion. Former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards’ husband, Kirk Adams, has held several leadership positions at this powerful union.

But it certainly seems counterintuitive for groups supposedly concerned with minorities to join ranks with an organization steeped in eugenics — an ideology that manifested itself in many ways, including the forced sterilization of many Black citizens. From the documentary Maafa21:

Planned Parenthood’s roots in eugenics date back to their founder Margaret Sanger, who was a member of the American Eugenics Society, and who was an invited speaker to members of the Ku Klux Klan. As Live Action News previously reported, many within Planned Parenthood’s organization and other population control groups thought coercion might be needed to stem the growth of people groups they deemed “unfit.”

Color of Change (COC), launched in 2005, exists, according to its website, to build “a new, effective strategy for changing the rules society lives by, and ending the injustices Black people face.” Likewise, the Center for Community Change (CCC), founded during the civil rights struggles of the 1960’s, says on its website that it works “to build the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low-income people of color, to change their communities and public policies for the better.”

In 2017, Dorian Warren, CCC’s incoming president, attended Planned Parenthood‘s national conference.

On the surface, CCC cloaks its abortion/Planned Parenthood agenda. Its 2018 “Path to Power” document says nothing about these issues, until you scroll near the end where they quote Cecile Richards (recently honored by CCC) for Planned Parenthood’s shared goals… to recruit people of color.

Planned Parenthood and Margaret Sanger are well known for their recruitment of members of the Black community to promote a eugenics agenda. Sanger recruited Black ministers to her infamous “Negro Project,” while Planned Parenthood added Black leaders to its organization to counter suspicions of “Black genocide” in the 1960s and 70s.

According to CCC’s 2017 annual report, money is flowing to CCC from a variety of left-wing organizations, many which have bankrolled the abortion industry for years, including Soros’ Open Society Foundation:

Color of Change was sought after by Open Society for its U.S. Programs Opportunities Fund (USP) because COC had “younger, social-media savvy African Americans.”

According to Open Society Board notes, “USP staff members have played active roles in providing consultative support and referrals to technical assistance, fostering connections to funding leads… organizing briefings, and engaging in conversations with grantees about how we can use our positioning and access to be a thoughtful and constructive partner, not just a funder.”

Open Society assisted COC to “aggressively help it raise resources, within USP and with other funders, so that it may stay on track with rapid expansion that now includes more than 900,000 online members and a 16 person staff.”

CCC was also funded by Open Society, as detailed in documents from 2013 and 2014.

Tragically, instead of fighting for the civil rights of all people, including preborn persons in the womb, these Black community organizers are aiding Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the nation, in its unjust killing of minority children in the womb.

While change can be necessary, it should not come on the backs of innocent babies.

What’s at stake for Planned Parenthood in 2018 midterm elections?

Planned Parenthood, vote

Taxpayer-funded abortion corporation Planned Parenthood has announced it is joining other “progressive” groups to invest an “unprecedented” $30 million to influence who is elected to key state and federal offices in the 2018 midterm elections. In addition, Planned Parenthood has vowed to spend $20 million through its own political action committees in campaigns across several states. But these millions are not really as unprecedented as Planned Parenthood wants the public to believe, as it has poured an extremely large amount of money into elections over the years to elect pro-abortion Democrats, some with less than successful results.

Major Democrat donors, like Deborah Simon, have given money to Planned Parenthood’s political super PAC, Planned Parenthood Votes:

Soros family money is also flowing into Planned Parenthood’s PAC. In July, Andrea Soros Colombel, daughter of billionaire George Soros and member of the Open Society Board, donated $1 million.

According to media outlets, the abortion corporation said it plans to spend $20 million, targeting candidates in eight to ten states. In Minnesota, former Planned Parenthood staffer Tina Smith is running for Senate.

CNN reported that the move is designed to “help Democrats,” adding, “The initial list of targets includes eight states: Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It comes on top of $4.5 million spent on last year’s governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey….”

“This is our last chance to flip some of those governors’ seats before redistricting,” Deirdre Schifeling, the executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes, told CNN.

A September 2018 article published by Fortune claims Planned Parenthood Votes is investing more than $4 million into 24 House races ahead of the midterm elections in November.

The spending spree under the political PAC, “Win Justice” is a joint effort from Planned Parenthood Votes, Center for Community Change Action, Color of Change PAC, and the very political Service Employees International Union (SEIU). (More on these groups in a separate article.) $3 million to jumpstart the campaign came from pro-abortion billionaire, George Soros.

Win Justice is currently spending heavily for the Bill Nelson campaign in Florida, where Nelson reportedly “has a long record of fighting against measures to ‘defund’ Planned Parenthood.”

On top of millions from Planned Parenthood, pro-abortion Emily’s List has vowed an unprecedented $37 million.

There are multiple reasons the abortion giant and its abortion cronies are dumping millions into local, state and federal elections:

  • Judges on the state and federal level can uphold pro-life regulations and laws, as well as free speech protections outside abortion facilities.
  • City/county commissions can decide what programs and organizations to fund or contract with.
  • Local school boards can choose to keep Planned Parenthood’s sex education out of their schools.
  • State lawmakers can pass pro-life laws and investigate abuse.
  • Governors can veto abortion legislation, sign pro-life legislation, issue executive orders to prohibit tax funding of abortion organizations, and more.
  • State attorney generals can investigate fraud, abuse and any number of illegal activities within the abortion industry.
  • Federal (House and Senate) lawmakers can introduce, support and vote for pro-life legislation and continue to investigate abuses within the abortion industry.
  • Lawmakers will also have a say over upcoming Supreme Court picks, probably one of the most important issues at hand today.

Also at the Federal level, lawmakers can send or withhold funding, influence appointments, control oversight, and issue important rule changes to key federal agencies such as:

  • Health and Human Services (HHS), where Title X family planning grants are flowing to Planned Parenthood to the tune of $60 million a year, despite aiding abusers in the cover-up of child sexual abusers.
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which can change current requirements of the abortion pill regimen by permitting the “home use” of the dangerous pills. FDA officials have also (to the outrage of the American public) contracted with Advanced Bioscience Resources (ABR) to obtain “fresh human tissues” from aborted babies. ABR has paid Planned Parenthood thousands for aborted fetal tissue.
  • The National Institutes of Health (NIH), where taxpayers fund millions of dollars for human fetal tissue experiments, which may contain tissue from aborted fetuses, is estimated to spend $103 million in FY2018 and $95 million in FY2019 on these potentially gruesome research programs.

Tax dollars to Planned Parenthood from various agencies total over a billion dollars, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, which found:

From 2013 to 2015, Planned Parenthood spent a total of $1.5 billion in federal program funds, including combined federal and state funds under federal programs. Of this total, Planned Parenthood received $1.2 billion in reimbursements from Medicaid, and the remaining $289 million came from various programs under the Department of Health and Human Services as well as the departments of Agriculture, Education, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, and Justice.

Image: Tax funds to Planned Parenthood 2013 to 2015 various agencies (Graph credit: Charlotte Lozier Institute)

The 2018 midterms are critical if pro-life voters want to keep the gains they have made on the state level and even more important if voters hope to continue to encourage Congress and the Trump administration to keep their promises to defund the nation’s largest and most profitable abortion corporation.

Live Action News has previously documented that, despite Planned Parenthood’s many abuses, year after year it receives $1.5 million taxpayer dollars every day, while ending the lives of 900 preborn babies through abortion. With so much on the line, is it any wonder this “healthcare organization” is vowing to spend millions to protect this cash cow?

SEIU partners with Planned Parenthood to get voters to support pro-abortion candidates

SEIU, the Center for American Progress, American Women, Planned Parenthood and other partners have announced today the launch of Fair Shot Action, what they call, “a new effort aimed at engaging voters on issues surrounding women.

FairShotAction SEIU

According to their press release, the coalition will help voters understand, “which candidates support women’s access to reproductive health” which is code for abortion on demand as they describe it as, “an area that has been under attack during the last year as a result of the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision.”

A major component of the new effort will be a new online tool called Fair Shot Voter, where voters can pledge support and commit to act on those policies and can find information on state and local records on these issues.

Co-Sponsors of Fair Shot Voter include, AAUW Action Fund, Center For American Progress Action Fund, Emily’s List, Fair Shot Oregon, Generation Progress Action Fund, Moms Rising, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, PowerPAC+, Ultraviolet, USACTION and Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund.

At their 25th National Convention the SEIU wrote, “SEIU reaffirms its commitment to women’s rights and should speak out at every opportunity, against the “War on Women” that is being waged at both the federal and state level. As healthcare workers we support the right of every woman to make choices about their reproductive health, including access to the information and services necessary to exercise their reproductive healthcare rights and give effect to the choices they make.”

When Parenthood in Mississippi was mobilizing to defeat a ballot initiative, Local 3515 offered use of their phone bank system and Scott, the Local 3570 president, agreed to be involved in a public service announcement. In another newsletter they write, “Though it was an off-year election, CWA seized the opportunity to expand movement

James Sherk, senior policy analyst in labor economics for The Heritage Foundation, says told One News Now, “Tthe United Food and Commercial Workers gave $10,000 to Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, last year,” he reports. “That was union members’ dues [that] went directly to subsidize performing abortions. The Service Employees International Union gave $25,000 to Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund and then another $25,000 to subsidize the daily operations, which included over 300,000 abortions at Planned Parenthood last year.”

Sherk adds that most major unions have also passed resolutions supporting abortion on demand.

NARAL Pro-Choice Washington Names former abortionists daughter and former SEUI director as Executive Director

Posted in NARAL, SEIU with tags , , , , on February 27, 2013 by saynsumthn

RachelBerkson2Rachel Berkson.

NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is pleased to announce that Rachel Berkson has been named Executive Director.

“Rachel is the future of our on-going fight for reproductive health privacy and freedom,” said Shakti Hawkins, Board President of the NARAL Pro-Choice Washington Foundation. “Rachel represents the generation of pro-choice women and men who have stepped forward to carry the banner for women’s reproductive health care.”

Berkson brings a strong background in grassroots political organizing for progressive issue-based politics in the Pacific Northwest. She most recently served as Associate Director of Washington Community Action Network (CAN!), the state’s largest grassroots community organization, where she led campaigns to provide access to affordable health care, stop foreclosures and protect crucial public services in communities across Washington State.

Berkson bridges the gap between the generations who fought for and have defended reproductive choice, and the generations who have never experienced a world without Roe v. Wade as the law of the land. The daughter of an abortion provider, Berkson has seen the very human impact reproductive health restrictions have on a woman and her family.

RachelBerkson

Rachel was the Executive Director of the SEIU Washington State Council where her primary focus was coordinating the union’s joint political and legislative programs. From 2000 – 2006 Rachel was a lead organizer with the Working Families Party, a labor and community-based grassroots political party in New York State.

Republican fundraiser finalist for CEO of Planned Parenthood

Posted in Planned Parenthood and Republicans, Planned Parenthood Employee with tags , , , , , , , , , on November 14, 2012 by saynsumthn

UPDATE: The board of Planned Parenthood of the Columbia Willamette met Tuesday night with the expectation of naming a new CEO, but instead it unanimously agreed to re-start the search process.

“The board voted to continue the search,” says Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Liz Delapoer. “We are hoping to have someone in place by early next year.”

In the meantime, interim CEO Sarah Newhall will continue to run the non-profit, which has an annual budget of $20 million and employs more than 200 people.

As reported earlier, some longtime supporters of the organization were agitated by the news that one of the two finalists for the position was Judy Peppler, who until 2011 served as CEO of Qwest Oregon and whose support of GOP candidates that Planned Parenthood Advocates had opposed became a flashpoint.

Planned Parenthood of the Columbia-Willamette has been searching for a new CEO for several months, ever since conflict over a new contract with the Service Employees International Union led to the departure of former CEO David Greenberg from his $196,000-a-year post.

The search is down to two finalists—one controversial candidate is an internal candidate from a Planned Parenthood chapter in Florida, —Judy Peppler.

Peppler left her recent position with CenturyLink bought Qwest in 2011; she enrolled in the Broad Academy, a program started by California billionaire Eli Broad that prepares corporate leaders for positions in public education. After finishing the academy, Peppler became the chief transformation officer in the Wake County, N.C., school district, which serves nearly 150,000 students, about three times the number in Portland Public Schools.

Peppler left that job in October, according to news reports, after the school board fired the superintendent who’d hired her 13 months earlier.

Peppler was a registered Republican. She was also a fundraiser for GOP presidential candidate John McCain in 2008 and Oregon GOP gubernatorial candidate Chris Dudley in 2010.

That past, and in particular an incident during the Dudley campaign, has some local Planned Parenthood supporters questioning whether she’s the right person for the job.

Former legislator Jane Cease, is one of those skeptics. Cease says she took issue with remarks Peppler made at a 2010 luncheon at the Portland Art Museum given for Portland State University’s Center for Women Politics and Policy.

Because the lunch had more than 600 attendees, Planned Parenthood Advocates demonstrated outside the Art Museum, blasting Dudley for being “faux-choice.”

Cease says Peppler took issue with those protestors at the luncheon, stating that “she wished the people weren’t outside picketing Chris Dudley because he was actually pro-choice,” Cease tells WW. “Many of us were booing and hissing because we knew he was on record the other way.”

Cease says she’s been a Planned Parenthood supporter for 40 years and along with many of her fellow supporters is distressed that Peppler could become the group’s new CEO.

“There’s a lot of rumbling about that because she was supporting McCain and Dudley [both of whom Planned Parenthood advocates has attacked for not being pro-choice],” Cease says.

“I think it would be really ill-advised to have somebody who is not solidly pro-choice running the organization.”

Peppler, 49, says such concerns are unfounded.

“I would not have applied for the job if I were not strongly pro-choice,” she says.

According to a 2010, report,

David Greenberg, the Former CEO Earned $196,000-a-year

Stephen Reichard earns $107,411 as the Chief Operating Officer

Lenice Shaw earns $97,754 as Chief Financial Officer

Adrienne Karecki Fomer Chief Operating Officer took home $116,829

Dean Roberts , Former CFO, took home $84,972 , Nadikerianda Ponnamma $75,765, Judith Albert $93,107, Cathryn Wilcox $90,309, Lynn Hayden $75,292, Linda Bryant $91,947, Marcella Forbes took home $63,895

Former Planned Parenthood Staff

In 2008, a former employee and abortionist for Planned Parenthood of the Columbia-Willamette in Oregon by the name of Dr. GEORGE ELLIOTT KABACY, M.D., was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison for possession of child pornography. He was not practicing at the Planned Parenthood at the time of his arrest.

Dr. George Elliott Kabacy was actively practicing as an OBGYN in Washington State at the time of his arrest in December 2006.

At the sentencing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Vince Lombardi said Kabacy “traded pictures of children being subjected to rape and degradation.”

Kabacy admitted in his plea agreement that he knowingly possessed more than 8,000 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Kabacy also admits to possessing videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, both on his computer and on 36 compact disks. Some of the images depict children under the age of 12, authorities said.

Kabacy admitted that he communicated with other people over the Internet, expressing his interest in having sex with minors and exchanging more than 40 images of child pornography with those other people over the Internet.

He first came to the attention of the FBI after the arrest of an Atlanta man who indicated he had communicated with Kabacy.

The man alleged that Kabacy had sent him a computer in exchange for the man’s promise that he would send Kabacy pornographic pictures of his grandchildren.

Kabacy moved to Washington state and worked until his arrest at Sound Choice Health Center in Olympia. He ceased practicing when he was indicted .
