The National Right to Life Convention is being held this week in New Orleans, Louisiana and several 2016 GOP Presidential contenders are slated to aconvo-dates-hdr-imgddress the crowd.

This morning there will be a a Presidential candidate forum including Dr. Ben Carson, Gov. Rick Perry, Hon. Rick Santorum and Sen. Marco Rubio.

First to address convention goers was Sen. Marco Rubio and twitter was alive with tweets as he came to the podium:

Marco Rubio 2

Marco Rubio

Steven Ertelt, founder of Life News who is at the conference quoted Rubio from his address:

Being a candidate for president, I give a lot of speeches on a lot of issues – and they are all important political and policy issues that confront our country. But the issue we are here to discuss today – the issue of life – is not a political issue, nor is it strictly a policy issue,” he said. “It is a definitional issue – an issue about what sort of society we want to have.”

Rubio says it is “is fundamentally impossible for America to reach her destiny as a nation founded on the equal rights of all if our government believes an entire segment of the human population doesn’t have a right to exist. And that’s why the issue of life is more than political or policy-related. It is a definitional issue about the kind of country we want to be. In a world where life is increasingly not valued, where people are summarily discarded, America must stand for the belief that all life is worthy of protection, because all life comes from God.

Every single person alive today was once that grainy ultrasound picture. And it is deeply disturbing for us to think of anyone – whether a parent, or a politician, or a Supreme Court justice – having a debate about our own viability as a person, at that stage or any stage. For our cause to triumph, we must help people extend that understanding of innate value to those they cannot see,” he said. “But this requires a great deal of love and care. For we know that the decision facing so many women and young girls is achingly complicated – the 15 year old with her whole life ahead of her, the young single woman who struggles to provide for herself and can’t imagine handling the costs of a child, the mom and dad faced with the knowledge that their child will be born with unique challenges.”

More from Sen Rubio at Life News.

Gov. Bobby Jindal will be the a Keynote speaker at the convention:

Gov Joindal Keynote NRLC

According to WGNO, during Jindal’s speech Thursday night, Jindal told the crowd that, while he expects to meet people on the other side of the pro-life issue, he thinks abortion supporters are open to change, and he bases that views on his faith.

We are called by scripture. We are told to treat and love others the way we want to be treated in life. Even those we disagree with. I also view those who aren’t pro-life as not pro-life yet,” Jindal said.

He declared July 9-11th “Louisiana Pro-Life Days” in honor of the pro-life event.

Hon. Rick Santorum told the group Friday morning that he and his family not just politically pro-life but they “live pro-life.”

“I don’t believe life begins at conception, I know life begins at conception!” he recounted as a response to a question he was given in previous debates.

Rick Santorum NRLC 2015 prolife 2

Santorum spoke solemnly about how he failed to speak up for the unborn as he should have when he first came to office. He was then confronted with partial birth abortion and said at that point he “just couldn’t say nothing anymore.”

It’s one thing to be pro-life…but if you stand up….you pay a price…you will be put over on the fringe of the Republican party,” he said.

They are counting good men and women to do nothing, because that’s what we’ve done,” he stated, listing the removal of prayer from schools and the slaughter of millions of innocent children from abortion.

And we have sat like a frog sitting in the pot…but one day you’re going to wake up and say what happened over my watch in America?”

Santorum warned against nominating a candidate who will talk about pro-life issues and never do anything, “This is not time for the faint of heart. There is no time for lip service…I need your help and your prayers and so does America,” he said in closing.

Possible second Ebola case in Texas?

Posted in Ebola with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 1, 2014 by saynsumthn

This morning I heard WBAP radio report that a possible 2nd case of Ebola was being monitored in Texas and said it was a relative of the first case.

Then a new report from the Dallas County Health and Human Services contradicted the original report. Now they are back pedaling…..

WBAP radio then played the contradictions from Dallas County Health and Human Services – first report vs. second report….people must be panicking because they are pulling back.

But.I was not the only one that heard this- I checked online and twitter and this is what I have found:

tweets

Then…WFAA reported that Due to close contact with a patient diagnosed with the Ebola virus, a second person is under the close monitoring of health officials as a possible second patient, said the director of Dallas County’s health department Wednesday morning in an interview with WFAA.

WFAA Ebola

Zachary Thompson, the director of Dallas County Health and Human Services, says all those who’ve been in close contact with the diagnosed patient are being monitored as a precaution. However, Thompson pointed to one person in particular as a potential second case.

Later, USA Today, reported the same from the WFAA report.

USA Today

Health officials rightly do not want to panic people- but- we do need to know the truth.

My questions are why wasn’t the first man quarantined when he went to the hospital the first time?

Now, two paramedics, who have tested negative so far, have to worry they may have been exposed when they picked up the first Ebola patient to take him to the hospital.

Why are Health Officials not saying where this patient may have been?

WFAA Mix Ebola

Many concerns..but….there is a risk of causing panic – so we must be patient and vigilant to allow the officials to do their jobs.

UPDATE: After hearing that the ambulance that transported the victim was still in use for two days and that 5 children were exposed to Ebola from several Dallas schools before the victim was hospitalized….some more concerns arose for me.

According to a report by CNN, The ambulance that carried the patient – ambulance # 37 — was in use for two days after the transport but was adequately decontaminated, said Dallas city spokeswoman Sana Syed.

“I do want to stress that the paramedics followed national standards, as they do after each transport, in decontaminating the ambulance,” she said. “The Dallas County health department has confirmed that paramedics did follow proper guidelines to avoid contaminating additional patients.”

According to NBC, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and other officials told a news conference Wednesday that the man with the first case of Ebola diagnosed in the United States had contact up to 18 people, including “some school-age children.”

“The children have been identified and they are being monitored,” the governor said.

Dr. Christopher Perkins, with the Dallas Dept. of Health and Human Services, said that there were five people in the patient’s immediate household and then about 12-18 other “contacts” — including an ambulance crew — all of whom would be monitored closely for 21 days.

Officials said five students at four different schools, two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, had had contact with the patient over the weekend. They are currently being “monitored” at home, but are not quarantined. The schools are still open.

I have a question that no reporter has asked on the Dallas Ebola patient. What about human waste ? What did he do the days the hospital sent him home? The reason I ask is that when Matt at NBC Today show interviewed the SIM missionary who survived I recall that those docs specifically said they had to contain all his bodily fluids and waste. So….is Ebola infectious once it is flushed down the toilet?

So…I checked… at about 30:00 one of the docs tells Mat Lauer that they cannot flush the Ebola patient’s waste down the toilet…..so what did the Dallas patient do b4 the hospital? The hospital’s protocol’s begin at 26:00

Anita Perry: killing a baby is a “Woman’s Right” on Abortion

Posted in Texas abortion clinics with tags , , , , , , on September 30, 2013 by saynsumthn

UPDATE: Texas Gov. Rick Perry today owned up to an “oops” moment that wasn’t even his.

His wife, Anita, misspoke when she told a journalist that abortion is a woman’s right, Perry, 63, a Republican who opposes terminating pregnancies, told a crowd in Smithville, New Jersey.

“From time to time we’ll stick the wrong word in the wrong place, and you pounce upon it,” Perry told reporters at a campaign event for U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan, a 57-year-old Republican from Bogota. Lonegan faces Democrat Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, New Jersey, in the Oct. 16 special election to fill the seat left vacant after the June death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

During an interview last weekend at the Texas Tribune Festival, Texas First Lady Anita Perry replied to a question about abortion by saying she sees it “as a woman’s right.”

Planned Parenthood + Media attack Texas Gov. but Wendy Davis used single mom for sympathy in politcal ads

Posted in Politics with tags , , , , , , , , , , on June 28, 2013 by saynsumthn

Planned Parenthood and the media are attacking Texas Gov. Rick Perry for mentioning the fact that pro-abortion state Senator Wendy Davis was a single mom who should have known better than to stand for the promotion of child killing through abortion. It seems hypocritical, since Davis herself used the sympathy of being a single mom to tout her “accomplishments” in her own political ads.

PP Perry

WendyDavis-Fight

NBC attacked Perry saying, “Texas Gov. Rick Perry said on Thursday that the Democratic state lawmaker who halted a restrictive abortion law “hasn’t learned from her own example” after having been born into adversity and becoming a teenage mother before going on to success as a Harvard law grad and legislator.”

Then Planned Parenthood weighed in: “Rick Perry’s remarks are incredibly condescending and insulting to women,” Planned Parenthood said in a statement. “This is exactly why the vast majority of Texans believe that politicians shouldn’t be involved in a woman’s personal health care decisions.”

PerryRTL
“Even the woman who filibustered in the Senate the other day was born into difficult circumstances,” Perry said. “It’s just unfortunate that she hasn’t learned from her own example that every life must be given a chance to realize its full potential and that every life matters.”

DMN WendyDavis Perry

The Dallas Morning News weighed in as well:
HEADLINE: Gov. Rick Perry uses Sen. Wendy Davis’ personal story to question her abortion stance, prompting backlash

Perry was quickly pilloried by Democrats. Davis, who was raised by a single mother, said his statement was “without dignity and tarnishes the high office he holds.”
“They are small words that reflect a dark and negative point of view,” the Fort Worth Democrat said in a written statement.

And this is how the liberal / left wing/ pro-abortion THINK PROGRESS reported the story:

Perry Think Progress

But this 2011-2012 ad shows Wendy Davis herself using Single mom in a political ad:

WendyDavisAd2

The ad clearly touts Wendy Daviss “accomplishments” “Wendy was a single mom by 19 while working two jobs a brochure inspired her to try community college”

WendyDavisPoliticalAd

Here Davis’ herself admits she was RAISED BY A SINGLE MOM and says that “By the time I was 19, I was a single parent”:

Davis says that beauty is the ability to show care and concern for others- what about the kids she “stood” to kill through abortion?

FYI – The Blaze has reported that Davis, wore a catheter to ensure that she wouldn’t need to go to the restroom during her marathon performance.

Infanticide defending Obama wants to stop “Gun Violence On Children” be real !

Posted in Gun Control, Obama with tags , , , , , , on January 16, 2013 by saynsumthn

ObamaChildrenGun

On January 15, 2013, Vice President Biden delivered his policy proposals to President Obama. The package of recommendations, released publicly January 16, 2013, details ways we can help keep guns out of the wrong hands, make our schools safer, and increase access to mental health services.DOWNLOAD THE FULL TEXT OF THE PRESIDENT’S PLAN

Require background checks for all gun sales
Strengthen the background check system for gun sales
Pass a new, stronger ban on assault weapons
Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds
Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets
Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime
End the freeze on gun violence research
Make our schools safer with new resource officers and counselors, better emergency response plans, and more nurturing school climates
Ensure quality coverage of mental health treatment, particularly for young people

From the press release about the President’s Executive Orders:

PRESERVE THE RIGHTS OF DOCTORS TO PROTECT THEIR PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES FROM GUN VIOLENCE: Doctors and other mental health professionals play an important role in protecting the safety of their patients and the broader community. The Administration is clarifying that no federal law in any way prohibits doctors or other health care providers from reporting their patients’ threats of violence to the authorities, and issuing guidance making clear that the Affordable Care Act does not prevent doctors from talking to patients about gun safety.

CFP Says it best:

“President Obama voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act four times, horrifyingly voting against protecting babies who survived abortion and voting in favor of leaving them to die.

While the children props of today would never have known, it was the same Obama standing among them, eliciting chuckles and laugher when reading out some of their letters in what must be the most hypocritical bid of all time to champion the lives of children.

The children, figuratively used as human shields in today’s White House photo op wouldn’t know that on his third day in office, President Obama repealed the pro-life “Mexico City Policy” and that by doing this he made groups that perform and promote abortion eligible for U.S. foreign aid funds from American taxpayers, including their parents.

How many of the children surrounding Obama today know that Planned Parenthood’s funding jumped from 33% to nearly 50%—over $487 million in taxpayer funding now goes to the abortion giant (under Obama and his administration)? This is almost half a billion dollars that American families are forced to pay in tax dollars—no matter how hard they struggle in the current economy—to the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.

What does Obama really think of children?

Statement by Gov. Perry on President Obama’s Executive Actions

January 16, 2013

Gov. Rick Perry released the following statement regarding President Obama’s executive actions:

“The Vice President’s committee was appointed in response to the tragedy at Newtown, but very few of his recommendations have anything to do with what happened there.

“Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror.

“There is evil prowling in the world – it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds. As a free people, let us choose what kind of people we will be. Laws, the only redoubt of secularism, will not suffice. Let us all return to our places of worship and pray for help. Above all, let us pray for our children.

“In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president.”

The proposal contains a mix of executive actions, regulations, and calls for Congress to act legislatively. The total package will cost at least $4.5 billion in new spending.

Among the new spending the president proposed:

• $4 billion for the president’s proposal “to help keep 15,000 cops on the streets in cities and towns across the country.” (That is roughly $266,000 per police officer.)

• $20 million to “give states stronger incentives to make [relevant] data available [for background checks] … “$50 million for this purpose in FY2014”

• “$14 million to help train 14,000 more police officers and other public and private personnel to respond to active shooter situations.”

• “$10 million for the Centers for Disease Control to conduct further research, including investigating the relationship between video games, media images, and violence.”

• $20 million to expand the National Violent Death Reporting System.

• $150 million to “put up to 1,000 new school resource officers and school counselors on the job.”

Texas Planned Parenthood pays 6 digit salaries to their staffers yet wants the tax payers to fund them

During the 2011 legislative session, Republican legislators cut family planning by two-thirds, slashing family funds from $111 million to less than $38 million over two years. They also instituted a three-tiered funding scheme that placed family planning providers like Planned Parenthood last in line for state dollars. As a result, more than 50 reproductive health clinics have closed, and nearly 40 have been forced to reduce their hours. Pro-life Texas Governor Rick Perry has approved the funding cuts citing Planned Parenthood as the nation’s top abortion provider. he vows to keep the cuts final.

Planned Parenthood on the other hand is doing a lot of belly-aching, but a quick look at their staff salaries indicate to me that Planned Parenthood could continue to serve women w/o Texas Tax Payers footing the bill. They pay their Staffers enormous salaries and then cry when the money dries up from the state – interesting !

According to a 2010 Planned Parenthood of North Texas 990:

James T Roderick CEO Resigned took home a whopping $274,037

Patricia Leger VP Of medical Services took home $ 114,992 plus $ 27,825 in other compensation

Lynn Marrable took home a total of $160,118

Kathryn Allen , SVP Comm Director took home $122,283 plus $26,431 in other compensation

Betty Meis SVP Finance, took home $125,187 plus $13,769 in other compensation

Similiar salaries were earned in 2009, 2008 , 2007 , 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, and 2001

Planned Parenthood of Lubbock was lucky – they only paid their under $100,000 year after year after year according to their 990’s , which is a good thing because he turned out to be a CREEPER !

LUBBOCK, TEXAS — The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has fired the President and CEO of their Lubbock, Texas branch, following an arrest for indecent exposure.

these type of salaries are repeated Over and Over again in Texas, begging the question, if they are so concerned for women’s health- why not take a lower salary????

Planned Parenthood received $349.6 million in tax dollars in the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2008, and $363.2 MILLION Dollars on Government Grants ( Tax Dollars) in 2009– that is ONE MILLION DOLLARS PER DAY of taxpayer money !!!

Cecile Richards; Planned Parenthood President

Planned Parenthood then took those hard earned dollars away from poor and middle class hard working people and it paid its president, Cecile Richards, $385,163, plus another $11,876 in benefits and deferred compensation. ( View 2008 990 here )

The $385,163 in pay Planned Parenthood President Richards received in the organization’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was recorded in the group’s publicly available Internal Revenue Service Form 990 filed for that year.

Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year. Many reasons to defund Planned Parenthood: eugenics, racism, abortion, audits, misappropriation of funds, Medicaid billing practices, hiding sexual predators

2012

Posted from the ACLJ Aug. 13, 2012

Our federal lawsuit against Planned Parenthood in Texas alleges that the abortion giant defrauded taxpayers by charging state and federal governments for services not actually provided, medically unnecessary services, and services that are not covered under Medicaid and other programs.

On Friday, a federal court agreed with the ACLJ that these allegations, if proven, constitute fraud in violation of federal law. The federal court in Texas denied Planned Parenthood’s attempt to have this critical case against the abortion giant thrown out.

This is a major victory as this case to hold Planned Parenthood accountable moves forward to trial. At stake are literally hundreds of millions of dollars, and it is a case that could have a substantial impact on one of Planned Parenthood’s largest affiliates in Texas.

The federal court noted that our lawsuit on behalf of former Planned Parenthood employee turned whistleblower, Karen Reynolds, “asserts that these false claims were submitted to the United States and Texas governments for reimbursement and, to support its claims for payment, [Planned Parenthood] regularly falsified patient charts.”

Planned Parenthood of North Texas PAC fined $3,000 for campaign finance violations

Aug 26, 2010 By Mark Lisheron

The Texas Ethics Commission has fined Cary Jennings, the campaign treasurer for Planned Parenthood of North Texas‘ political action committee, $3,000 for failing to disclose spending $26,695 to support four political candidates in the November, 2008 state elections.

The Ethics Commission also found Planned Parenthood of North Texas Action Fund Political Committee had either failed to report or made mistakes with political contribution and expenditure totals on more than 17 monthly reports required by state law.

The political action committee in a November 2008 report said it spent $26,695 for mass mailings the previous month. However, the report failed to say the mailings were made in support of Wendy Davis, who was running for state Senate and Dan Barrett, Carol Kent and Chris Turner, who were running for state House seats, according to the Ethics Commission findings.

The following month, the political action committee reported spending $15,410 in one day to the same company for a blitz of campaign telephone calls on behalf of Davis, Kent, Turner and Robert Miklos, who was running for the House. The Commission took note that this disclosure of candidate support was not reflected on the report’s cover page.

The committee filed 17 corrected campaign finance reports on Sept. 14, 2009. Texas Watchdog has a call in to Planned Parenthood, and will update the blog if we hear back from the group here .
Davis, Kent, Turner and Miklos won their legislative races, while Barrett lost to Republican physician Mark Shelton.

The Ft. Worth Telegraph reported it this way: Planned Parenthood PAC failed to disclose campaign support
Posted Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010

The Planned Parenthood of North Texas Action Fund PAC fouled up 17 monthly campaign expense reports and omitted an expenditure of about $27,000 that supported four local candidates for the Legislature.

The Texas Ethics Commission posted a report this week that said the political action committee failed to identify the candidates and improperly disclosed expenditures on their behalf.

An amended finance report filed by the PAC shows that the candidates supported by the mailings were Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, and House candidates Chris Turner, Dan Barrett and Carol Kent, all Democrats.

The committee’s treasurer, Cary Jennings, declined to comment. He was fined $3,000, according to a commission order.

The PAC has made internal changes, Director Kathryn Allen said.

“We feel we have fixed the problem and will not make this mistake going forward,” she said. “We weren’t trying to conceal our support for those candidates.”

At question was $26,695 paid on Oct. 14, 2008. The PAC corrected filings in September 2009 to show that it paid Gold Communications to send mailers that benefited the four legislative candidates. The original November 2008 monthly report disclosed the expense but not that the money directly benefited candidates.

The commission found the error when examining a complaint about monthly reports. Between April 2008 and August 2009, the PAC filed reports that inaccurately stated the balance of cash on hand. Balances changed on average by about $6,700. The two largest changes to the contribution balance were a decrease of $25,100 and a decrease of $44,560.

Once the mistake was found, the PAC filed corrected reports within a week, Allen said.

“Our PAC is fairly new, and being new to reporting, we had some technical errors that were found,” Allen said. “They were related to cash on hand. Those have been corrected.”

Through an open records request, KFOX has learned that PPCEP owes UMC $154,814. Sources close to PPCEP claim their total debt stands at more than $1 million.

University Medical Center declined any comment on PPCEP’s current balance. They did not disclose what type of contract was established.

As KFOX reported, a state audit found that PPCEP violated its state contracts after it requested reimbursement for bills that were never paid.

State representatives have told KFOX that it is unclear if the money will ever be collected, and PPCEP is currently under bankruptcy protection.

Former Lufkin clinic employee alleges fraud in suit against Planned Parenthood
Posted: Sunday, February 12, 2012 1:15 am
By JESSICA COOLEY/The Lufkin News

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is a defendant in a federal lawsuit after a former Lufkin clinic employee alleged a multi-million-dollar billing scheme.

The complaint names Karen Reynolds as the whistle-blower in the allegations brought against her former employer of 10 years.

The updated complaint, filed in October 2011, alleges that while Reynolds was employed as a health center assistant, she was instructed by the organization to maximize billing revenue when the government was fitting the bill through Medicaid and the Women’s Health Program.

She claims this was the procedure in all 12 Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast locations across Texas and Louisiana.

The suit alleges that, in addition to falsifying patient records, billing the government for unwarranted services and services not covered by Medicaid, Planned Parenthood tacked on services patient did not receive.
