The pro-life group, Protecting Black Life is putting up billboards in Ohio which highlight deaths of Black women killed from legal abortion.

Their first billboard highlights the death of Laura Hope Smith killed by a legal abortion. Her death was so egregious that her abortionist served time in prison following her death.

“On September 13, 2007, young, beautiful, vibrant, 22-year-old Laura Hope Smith entered the Women’s Health Center in Hyannis, Massachusetts for an abortion, the group explains on their website“, When Laura’s friend arrived to pick her up, “Laura was not in the waiting room. An employee of the abortion mill said that Laura had aspirated during the abortion and 911 was sending an emergency response team. Although Laura was rushed to the hospital, it was too late! Laura can’t answer the “roll” when her name is called because of a so-called safe abortion.”

In an interview with WLWT, organizer Rev. Arnold Culbreath explained that abortion is the number one cause of death inside the African American community.

You take all the other causes [of black deaths] of death and add them up and that’s the total it gives you 289,072. When you add up the Black abortions you get 300,060,” Culbreath states, We are leaving this earth at a faster greater rate than we’re coming.”

Today, the pro-life group, Protecting Black Life has launched its 30-Day “Roll Call Billboard Campaign” in Greater Cincinnati, OH.

This “new” campaign contains billboards located in 10 of Cincinnati’s African American communities, where Ohio’s highest abortions occur, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s “2012 Induced Abortions in Ohio” report.

Their desire is to inform Black Americans in Greater Cincinnati, as well as the community at-large, that an ever-increasing number of young women-of-color are ending up dead, following so-called safe abortions.

The events contained in this tragic tale occur far more frequently than most people realize.

It is Protecting Black Life’s hope that our “Roll Call” Billboard Campaign will prevent someone from venturing down the same dead-end road of abortion that Laura did. Abortion is not your only option,” the group states on their website .

Rev. Arnold Culbreath: Urban Outreach Director of Protecting Black Life – said the response to the billboard campaign has been positive, “So far we’re receiving comments like, “The billboard is VERY powerful. Not many words, straight to the point!,” “Impactful!,” “My husband said it hit home!” “People don’t usually think about the woman dying by abortion!”

It is my prayer that lives are saved as a result of this campaign…both born and unborn,” Culbreath writes on his Facebook page.

Below is a press conference Rev. Arnold Culbreath held after death of another Black women, Lakisha Wilson, following her late term abortion at Preterm in Ohio.

Protecting Black Life’s “Roll Call” billboards are currently located in many of Cincinnati’s African American communities, where Ohio’s highest abortions occur, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s report entitled: 2012 Induced Abortions in Ohio.

Abortion was founded on racism and the group, Life Dynamics, has done an excellent job of documenting the racist agenda of abortion in their film, Maafa21. Watch it for free here.

Abortion is a dangerous medical procedure killing women across this country of all races. See their list of names here.

Billboard causing buzz

DELHI, OHIO – Race and abortion, two very volatile issues, now mixed on billboards for thousands of tri-state drivers to see everyday.

As drivers make their way up Delhi Pike, the Cincinnati organization, Protecting Black Life, put up a billboard saying “Abortion the #1 Killer of African Americans.”
Protecting Black Life’s website, Protectingblacklife.org said the organization is operating under the Life Issues Institute and is reaching the black community with the pro-life message.
Residents say there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the billboard.
“They’re saying that you know, number one killer for African Americans when Delhi is 90 percent white. So I don’t understand why the sign is there. It just doesn’t make any sense to me,” said Delhi resident Ray McMullen.

“African Americans will be totally shocked that this billboard number one was placed in this environment, in Delhi. And number two that again it puts another strike on the African American culture,” said Cincinnati resident Jonathan Cody.

Protectingblacklife.org also said the billboards were placed in Cincinnati’s highest abortion communities.

Regarding the statement, “Abortion the #1 Killer of African Americans” organizers source the U.S. Center for Disease Control and the Alan Guttmacher Institute stated , “Since 1973 more African American babies have been killed by abortion than the total number of African American deaths from all other causes combined.”
Whether you agree or disagree, the billboard is stirring up some serious conversation.

“I had an abortion when I was little. I was made to have one. And I think it’s wrong because it’s not just black people, it’s black people and white people. It’s everybody,” said Delhi resident Tiffany Daniels.

Pro-Life Black Pastors Oppose President Obama’s Healthcare Plan in response to endorsement by Pastor

Pro-Life Black Pastors Oppose President Obama’s Healthcare Plan ‘Outraged’ by Church of God In Christ Bishop Blake’s Endorsement of Obama Healthcare

WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 /Christian Newswire/ — The following statement is in response to the recent public endorsement of President Barack Obama’s healthcare plan by Bishops from the “Church of God in Christ,” led by Bishop Charles E. Blake Sr.

This statement is made by Black ministers and pastors actively involved in the Pro-life Movement, including the chair of the National Black Pro Life Congress, the national director of L.E.A.R.N Inc. (Life Education and Resource Network), and the executive director of the Network of Politically Active Christians. They pastor congregations in California, Texas, North Carolina, Michigan and Washington, D.C.

The Black Pro-life Movement is outraged by the recent endorsement of this administration’s health care proposal by some clergy of the Church of God in Christ.

As God-fearing individuals we encourage COGIC leaders to read and evaluate the President’s plan, including the Capps-Waxman Amendment, rather than merely parroting his words. If unborn children cannot depend on the Church to carefully examine this bill to see if their lives will be protected from state- funded genocide, on whom can they depend?

Such an endorsement does not consider the devastating impact abortion is having in the black community. Over 1,400 black babies each day are lynched out of their mothers’ wombs. Clearly, this rate of prenatal murder in our community outpaces death by heart disease, diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDS and violent crime combined.

We find it troubling that this endorsement does not acknowledge the deliberate targeting of the black community by Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, nor decry the mental and physiological impact abortion is having on black women across America.

We recommend in the strongest terms possible that this endorsement be withdrawn until such time that the Obama administration adds language to the health care proposal that specifically prohibits taxpayer funded abortions.

Black pro-life leaders inform and educate during Congressional Black Caucus week

Washington, DC – On the heels of a successful Define the Dream: America’s Health Care Agenda crusade during the Congressional Black Caucus week of events, Prolife African American Leaders are now seeking to engage the COGIC (Church of God in Christ) in positive dialogue regarding COGIC’s endorsement of President Obama’s Health Care Bill.

Dr. Johnny Hunter of LEARN has released an open letter to COGIC urging caution for their endorsement of President Obama’s health care bill.

Some of the leaders, organized by Pastor Stephen Broden of Fairpark Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, have also issued statements regarding pressing concerns over COGIC’s endorsement, which does not include strong pro-life sanctions, even though many of the COGOC leaders say that they are pro-life.

The Pro-life African American Leaders are working to get the informative genocide expose, Maafa21 into the hands of COGIC and other church leaders across the country as part of their national education campaign. As the campaign continues, the leaders urge people to see Maafa21 and share the film with members of their communities.

“We hope to engage COGIC and other church leaders in meaningful, informative dialogue as the health care debate continues,” said Dr. Alveda King of Priests for Life, who is working with Rev. Arnold Culbreath of Protecting Black Life to contact leaders of COGIC.
