Revolutionary abortion rights group Stop Patriarchy to protest pro-life laws in several states

The communist revolutionary group Stop Patriarchy is calling for “national actions” on July 1st to “protest new abortion restrictions scheduled to go into effect in Kansas and Tennessee that day.”

According to the group’s website:

On July 1st, as many as half the abortion clinics in Tennessee are expected to close due to new restrictions which will require abortion facilities to meet the same physical standards as a mini-emergency room (even though early abortion is an extremely simple, outpatient procedure).

They also state:

These new restrictions are part of a national onslaught against abortion rights and birth control. Over 330 restrictions have been introduced nationwide already this year! This CANNOT be tolerated if women are going to be treated as FULL HUMAN BEINGS! These laws will have devastating effects on the lives of women across the country, and especially in the deep South, where new restrictions have forced many abortion clinics to close.

A Fact Sheet put out by the group entitled: Abortion rights are in a state of emergency, and headed for disaster, reads in part:

For far too long, pro-choice people have remained passive, or funneled their energies into supporting politicians who openly promise to seek “common ground” with Christian fascists. But seeking “common ground” has really meant ceding ground to this whole onslaught. For decades we have watched yesterday’s outrage become today’s “compromise position” and tomorrow’s limit of what can be imagined. There can be no “common ground” with female enslavement. What is required instead is: massive, uncompromising, political resistance to STOP this whole WAR ON WOMEN, and go on to WIN the fight for full liberation.

PAST DISRUPTIONS:

Several members of Stop Patriarchy were arrested in Washington D.C. trying to disrupt pro-lifers on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion in America.

They also became aggressively disruptive to Black pro-life activists in California after vowing to “Ferguson” pro-life walk.

Bragging on their website, “As politicians continue to ramp up a national assault on abortion and birth control, Stop Patriarchy is unleashing the rage and frustration of old and new generations, forging a new political force of opposition while recasting the terms in the fight over abortion around women’s enslavement or women’s liberation.”

The group is headed by Communist sympathizer Sunsara Taylor, a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party, receiving the support of convicted terrorist Bill Ayers. Their methods and tactics have even been denounced by more mainstream pro-choice advocates.

Stop Patriarchy is very selective in their outrage against the “Patriarchy.” While they disrupt pro-life events they enthusiastically support abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood which deliberately cover child rape and myriads of abortion “providers” who sexually abuse or physically harm their patients.

Abortion activists have been activating since Texas passed a series of pro-life laws in the state which have closed several abortion clinics. During this time, pro-abortion radicals descended in Austin to express their outrage.
Stop Patriarchy was among them, blocking traffic and getting arrested there as well.

Since then many other states have since passed similar legislation.

According to Life News, weeks ago Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed into law a pro-life bill HB 1368 requiring licensure and inspection of abortion facilities the same as ambulatory surgical centers in the state.

Strict pro-life laws are also being challenged in Kansas.

El Paso Times reports that yet another abortion clinic may close following passage of reasonable pro-life legislation.

FranzTheard703a2.jpg_256Abortionist Franz Theard, who owns El Paso’s Hilltop Women’s Reproductive Clinic, said there is no way his business can afford to make the upgrades required by House Bill 2, a pro-life law passed that requires abortion clinics to qualify as “ambulatory surgical centers” — which would require Hilltop to widen hallways, enlarge surgical suites, add locker rooms, install backup generators and make other changes, according to the Times.

“We’re not going to retrofit and spend $2 million to become a surgical center,” Theard told the paper.

The report continues, El Paso’s other clinic, Reproductive Services, was forced to stop offering abortions for several months last year.

Gerri Laster, the clinic’s executive administrator, last week said that the clinic’s doctor, Pamela Richter, had secured temporary privileges at an El Paso hospital.

Asked if her clinic could afford to make the changes required by Sept. 1, Laster said she is uncertain that the requirement will take effect then.

“We don’t know what the Fifth Court of Appeals is going to do,” she said.

She was referring to a legal challenge to House Bill 2.

Last week, Saynsumthn reported the closing of two more Texas abortion clinics. Whole Woman’s Health in Beaumont and McAllen will close after providing abortions in the areas for a decade.

Houston abortion clinic shut down due to pro-life legislation

Texas officials have shut down a Houston abortion clinic and suspended the license of its doctor under a new state law requiring physicians who perform the procedure to hold admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.

The Department of State Health Services has revoked the abortion license of A Affordable Women’s Medical Center and the Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended the medical license of Dr. Theodore M. Herring Jr., the facility’s medical director and sole provider of abortions, the agencies announced Friday.

Theodore Herring TX

Herring unlawfully performed 268 abortions between Nov. 6 and Feb. 7, according to the two agencies.

The disciplinary actions against the north Houston clinic and doctor were the first taken by state authorities since the law went into effect Nov. 1. The law requires abortion clinic doctors to have privileges at a hospital that provides obstetrical or gynecological services and is within 30 miles of the facility where they provide the procedure.

The state health department Friday indefinitely revoked the facility’s license. A medical board disciplinary panel Thursday temporarily suspended Herring’s license. Both actions took effect immediately.

According to TMB documents, Herring failed to even apply for hospital privileges after the passage of highly publicized abortion clinic safety law that was passed last year. The violation was discovered during an inspection at Herring’s A Affordable Women’s Medical Center abortion clinic on December 11, 2013.

“The clinic regulations in Texas are successfully working to shut down seedy abortion operations that are operating illegally and posing a danger to the public. When abortion clinics close, lives are saved. It couldn’t be clearer how much this law is necessary in order to protect women and babies from predatory and dangerous abortionists,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We continue to urge the passage of similar laws in every state.”

Herring submitted an application to obtain hospital privileges on January 15, 2014 and submitted a plan of correction to the Department of State Health Services, which notified him that a correction plan was insufficient and that he remained in violation of state law.

Yet, Herring continued to supply abortions and was inspected again on February 7, 2014, where he once again admitted that he was in non-compliance.

Herring’s license was temporarily suspended on February 13 after the TMB found that he “has engaged in ongoing violations of the law that make his continued practice of medicine a continuing threat to the public health and safety,” according to the suspension order.

“The closure of this illicit abortion operation and the suspension of Herring’s medical license further exposes the systemic ‘above the law’ attitude so common among abortionists who routinely defy safety regulations at the expense of the health and safety of their patients,” said Newman.

The new law, known as HB 1, was passed last year during a second special legislative session was called by Gov. Rick Perry after a filibuster by pro-abortion Democrat Wendy Davis caused a near riot in the statehouse that delayed a vote on the measure until after a previous special session had expired. The law went into effect on November 1, 2013. HB 1 was challenged in court and initially enjoined by a lower court, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the law could indeed go into effect while the case is litigated. That led to the closure of nearly a dozen abortion clinics, seven of which were permanent.

Hearings on the suspension and clinic closure are expected later this month.
