Experts address link between abortion and breast cancer in powerful documentary film

Dr. Angela Lafranchi, Breast Cancer Surgeon

Experts interviewed in the controversial film, “Hush: the Documentary,” which investigates the effects of abortion on women, claim that women aren’t being told the truth about the link between abortion and breast cancer, despite studies that show the claim to be true.

Pro-choice film director Punam Kumar Gill went out of her way to speak with experts on both sides of the debate. “Of all the contested health care risks around abortion, the abortion breast cancer link was especially troubling to me,” she states. According to Gill, at the time the film was produced, there were only five states that required women to be told that there is an increased risk of breast cancer from abortion.

In her team’s attempt to hear all sides, Gill spoke with former abortionist David Grimes, described by her as a “renowned expert” on abortion in the film. Grimes denied a higher risk of breast cancer for women who have had abortions, comparing claims to the contrary to “an old dog that they keep on flogging.” By “they” he means pro-life experts who have published their own studies.

Grimes then claimed that (in his words) the “small group” that “holds these views” tend to “not be physicians” and not “understand what a woman goes through.” He then disdainfully claimed that the “common theme” among these experts is “religiosity.”

Dr Joel Brind

But Grimes apparently didn’t do his homework before making those remarks; as the film also showed, there are several highly credentialed experts who believe that an abortion-breast cancer link is evident.

One of those experts is Dr. Joel Brind, a professor of human biology and endocrinology who has studied the topic extensively. Dr. Brind acknowledged that it is his belief that abortion is not good for women or children, and that although women legally have a choice to have an abortion, the choice should be an informed one.

In his research, Brind reviewed 23 studies (a meta-analysis) and, as the film points out, found a “30 percent increased risk of breast cancer for women with abortion histories.” Dr. Brind, along with three other researchers, published these findings in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health in 1996.

Although the group of authors called for additional research on the link, the study concluded in part, “The results support the inclusion of induced abortion among significant independent risk factors for breast cancer, regardless of parity or timing of abortion relative to the first term pregnancy.”

But because Dr. Brind holds a pro-life view on abortion, his work has been largely discounted. “The major criticism against him was because he’s pro-life, his science is questionable, and his findings are part of an anti-abortion agenda to scare women,” the Hush film states.

Dr Joel Brind (Image credit: Hush the Documentary)

But, what isn’t mentioned by critics of Brind’s conclusions on the abortion-breast cancer link is that one of Brind’s co-researchers is pro-choice. Brind says he was unaware of this fact until after the research was published because when they did the research, “their personal views on the subject of abortion never came up,” he explained.

Brind told Gill that author Vernon M. Chinchilli only disclosed his pro-choice views on abortion after the study was complete. Brind explained, “We did all this work together. Hours and hours of working together in studying the data and comparing notes and talking about it, and you know what? Whether he or I or anyone else in the group was pro-life or pro-choice – it never came up.”

“This is about science. This is about the effect on women and whether or not abortion increases the risk of breast cancer. Period,” he added.

Dr. Angela Lanfranchi and Punam Kumar Gill in Hush the Documentary

Another expert interviewed in the film is Dr. Angela Lanfranchi, a breast surgeon. She pointed to alarming data that shows a drastic increase in breast cancer among young women, something she said was evident in her practice as a breast surgeon. “There was one month where I saw three young women in their thirties with breast cancer and it was very depressing. And I was trying to figure out why that was happening.”

“The textbooks had information… about one of the risk factors being abortion. And I started asking a complete reproductive history.”

Dr. Lanfranchi recounted discovering that patients with “very aggressive forms of breast cancers” had abortions in their history. She then found out about Dr. Brind’s meta-analysis study, recounting, “I said, okay, it’s just not my random clinical experience.” But Lanfranchi pointed out that over the years, she has discovered that this information “was not going to get out.”

Dr. Ian Gentles in Hush the Documentary

Filmmaker Gill also spoke to Dr. Ian Gentles, a professor at Tyndale University College and a co-author of the book “Complications,” described in the film as the “world’s most comprehensive investigation of abortion and women’s health.”

According to a review of the book published by LifeSiteNews, it “[…] includes over 100 interviews with women who have had abortions… using data gathered from over 650 papers, mostly in medical and psychological journals.” It “concludes that abortion is detrimental in all areas of women’s health, and includes substantive evidence demonstrating the link between abortion and a variety of health problems including breast cancer, infertility, autoimmune disease and mental health problems along with a multitude of other complications.”

“The big physical hazard is breast cancer,” Dr. Gentles told Gill. Gentles stated that there have been many studies that show a “real statistically significant link between abortion and breast cancer.”

Studies show link between abortion breast cancer (via Hush: the Documentary)

“In other words,” Gentles said, “if you have an abortion  – you have a 30 or 40 percent increased chance of coming down with breast cancer later. And this has been established in studies all over the world, not just in the United States, but also France, China, Japan, India, which have documented that indeed there is a higher rate of breast cancer among women who have abortions.”

Gill made it clear at the end of her documentary that she remains in favor of abortion, but believes women should be informed about potential risks such as breast cancer. The “Hush” production team claims to have made every effort to speak with experts across the political and ideological spectrum as well as medical organizations which study breast cancer risks. But Gill found that these groups were silent and refused requests to go on film to defend their findings.

“Those who completely deny any long-term risks have artfully shut down the conversation,” Gill concluded in the film. “Because they fear if they conceded the procedure has adverse effects, abortion will be banned. Meanwhile, nonpartisan researchers run for cover from cross fire.”

Gill added, “It’s true the long-term health risks associated with abortion are generally promoted by those who want abortion gone. But this did not make the information untrue.”

The pro-choice filmmaker expressed her desire for women to get all the information they need to make healthy decisions about their own lives. “Although I still believe in a woman’s right to abortion,” she said, “I don’t see abortion as liberating as I once assumed it was. At least not for the women who’ve experienced adverse physical and psychological effects.”

If abortion is going to be legal and women are to have the freedom to choose it, “they should also have the right to know,” Gill stated. “Women facing an unplanned pregnancy deserve health information that is not clouded by religion, fear, or politics.”

Be informed. Review the information for yourself.

Abortion supporter “I hope your daughter gets raped”

Posted in Pro-choice Logic with tags , , , , on March 10, 2016 by saynsumthn

When this abortion supporter on the campus of the University of Arizona encountered opposition to the killing of children in the womb- his response was to say that, “I Hope your daughter gets raped” to the protester showing him what abortion looks like.

Why would he want a the man’s daughter to be raped?

So HER FATHER would know how it feels to have someone he loved – raped!

Really?

Why does this kind of logic from the abortion lobby not shock me?

Pro-life Chrome Extension Changes “Pro-Choice” to “Pro-Abortion”

Posted in National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIR) with tags , , , , , , , , on March 3, 2016 by saynsumthn

A pro-life activist has created a Google Chrome extension which changes the term “pro-choice” on abortion into the correct term “pro-abortion.” The move follows the announcement that an abortion advocacy organization created their own Chrome extension which not only changes the correct term “pro-life” into the term “anti-choice”, but alters content of online articles.

Andy Moore

Andy Moore, director of the pro-life site AbortionWiki, told Live Action News that he created the extension as a conversation starter to terminology over the abortion debate.

“What it comes down to is accuracy and terminology. “Anti-choice” is meaningless without context. We could throw it back to them by pointing out that there are many choices that they disagree with.

“We are not proposing our Chrome Extension as a solution to bad terminology but a conversation starter to terminology on the abortion debate.”

“It’s not the solution to a problem, but it highlights the nonsense of the way they talk,” he added.

For Moore’s extension to work, it simply has to be downloaded in Chrome. Once the extension is installed it will automatically change the term “pro-choice” to “pro-abortion” on all pages viewed in Google Chrome.

Moore said he did not make the extension to shield pro-lifers from the vitriol but instead to show abortion advocates how easy it is to play with words and terminology. He explained that he chose to use the term “pro-abortion” because, he said, it is a fair term to apply to those who, “support the choice to dismember a living child and throw her in the medical waste container.”

“We know that they can’t stand the A-word, and that they’d rather mischaracterize us as backwards bigots who are blindly opposed to choice. Who could be against choice? Isn’t choice a good thing? Everyone is pro-choice. But some choices are wrong. The real question is, which choices do you support or defend?”

Moore said that it is time for terminology to be accurate and for the abortion side to own up to what they support:

“The audacity of the pro-abortion industry to be so defensive by referring to us as “anti-choice.” The term anti-choice could be a good thing if the choice is a bad thing. Its more helpful to the dialogue to use meaningful and accurate terms. Pro-life is an accurate term because we support the life of all children. Pro-abortion would also be an accurate term.

“They think they can play games with words. Its time for us to not dodge around the issue by using vague terms like “anti-choice,” “pro-choice,” “termination” or “reproductive rights”, but to discuss the meaning of these terms on their own merits and refer to abortion using accurate terminology.”

Google Chrome abortion prochoice

Earlier this month, abortion advocates claimed their “anti-choice” extension was an accurate term for those who defend life. When they pitched the extension, (a creation of the National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIR)), they wrote this on their page of the Google Chrome store:

Tired of seeing the fraught term “pro-life” used ubiquitously and incorrectly, we conceived of this extension to shift the language of the discussion towards a more accurate framework. Using the language of pro-choice and anti-choice eliminates the sneaky and damning implications of a model built around “pro-life” versus pro-choice language.

The problem with their claim is that opposing abortion is 100% pro-LIFE in every respect. The fact is that, in every case, abortion kills a baby and sometimes the mother as well, a fact Live Action is emphasizing in their newest online expose called “AbortionProcedures.com.”

Moore points out that when he heard about the abortion extension he became concerned because he realize how easily it could be abused.

“Technology is a tool and it can be abused. In the interest of my extension the user volunteers to install the extension in Chrome. But, as we have already witnessed with the censorship of pro-life websites by schools or Universities, if a college or the Government was to install software like this system wide we should be concerned, even it it skewed online material towards our point of view.”

Moore believes that his “Change “Pro-Choice” to “Pro-Abortion” extension, which is offered for free in the Google Chrome Store, will allow pro-lifers to have some fun along the way.

“This extension allows a pro-life user to replace their “rhetoric” with an accurate term. Its amusing in a way that when a post publishes the name “NARAL Pro-choice America” it will now change to “NARAL Pro-Abortion America”. Seeing it in print suddenly exposes their rhetoric as hollow. “

Out-of-touch pro-abortion advocates “celebrate” abortion

Posted in Roe with tags , , , , , , , , on January 11, 2016 by saynsumthn

It is almost January 22, 1973 and we already see abortion “Celebrations” being organized with the same old rhetoric attracting the same old people. In fact, these celebrations by Planned Parenthood and abortion supporters are out-of-touch to a culture that is growing radically more pro-life every day. But, sadly, and yet predictably, it appears the promoters of all things abortion can’t skip one year without dancing over the bodies of dead preborn children.

Roe celebration 308210838444_7850300544994434250_n

Roe is the infamous Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion on demand in every week of pregnancy. In 2015, Planned Parenthood received criticism for “celebrating: abortion with their “Chili for Choice” event at a Kansas Church. Other events from abortion advocates included a Taco and Beer challenge, “Rock and Roe,” and luncheons. It was also the year that video evidence from the Center for Medical Progress not only told America the depth of depravity the abortion industry generally and Planned Parenthood specifically will sink to when it comes to abortion, but, they showed actual bodies of babies swimming inside a petri dish. And, yet, they celebrate.

Roe its our right

Merriam Webster defines “Celebrate” this way as, “to do something special or enjoyable for an important event, occasion, holiday, etc.” And, this is exactly what the abortion crowd hopes to do. This is like a “holiday” to them. I mean, I am surprised there is no push to get employers to give them paid leave or to pressure lawmakers for a “celebrate ROE” stamp – except, of course, stamps are becoming so yesterday. Just like abortion.

In a culture that is more pro-life than ever, abortion is more like your grandmother’s “issue” – not that of the youth of today. Yet…here we go again, when a small minority of pro-abortion advocates who still “live in the 1970’s” regurgitate the ignorant lie that a preborn child can be reduced to a “parasite” because they are “nonhuman,” that is unless you need their kidneys, liver, or brain tissue. And, the funniest part about it is that they expect modern America to “Celebrate abortion” with them. Come on….is this a joke?

Ro 43 Together for abortion

Nope, in fact, the Planned Parenthood abortion crowd is going to blast Twitter with the hashtag “Together for Abortion” because – well- they are…FOR ABORTION! And, to help already struggling pro-abortion organizers, a list of where or what the the event can be has been published:

    public or private
large or small *[I’m predicting VERY small]
    a major speak out
    a cocktail or dinner party
a handful of friends around a kitchen table
    an abortion storytelling event
    an art show or concert
    a crafting party
    a work break
    a student group
a place where your community already exists
a way to meet new people

*editorial comment

Dinner party? What would be on that menu? Red meat, body part soup?

Storytelling…

CRAFTING PARTY…

Say What????

Okay…I have to stop there and ask – exactly what would an abortion celebrating CRAFTING PARTY look like?

Nevermind…I don’t even want to know!

Roe at 43

I have glanced over some of the 43rd anniversary Roe Celebrations and so far they are shall I say (to be nice) “typical” – yawn – or perhaps “boring” would be a better adjective to describe an old fashioned event when a handful of people will gather at a state Capitol or inside a Unitarian Church, to talk about how “Roe” saved them from that oh-so-horrible baby oops I mean “fetus” oops again “pregnancy” that would have ruined their life somehow. I mean, can’t they think of anything new to say?

    “Stand for Choice”
    “Celebrate Roe”
    “Break the Stigma”
    “Its our right”
    “Shout your abortion”

Blah…blah…blah…

Why don’t abortion advocates just say it like it is?

“Celebrate the dismembering of preborn children in all months of pregnancy”
“Come hear me blame a little baby for my inability to be successful”
“Stand up for excuses to end a child’s life”
“43 years and women still die from legal abortion, celebrate with us”
“Celebrate a woman’s right so we can turn around and deny the most basic human right”
“Break all regulations because we want to go back”
“Shout the deliberate targeting of minorities with abortion”

Well…to my out-of-touch pro-abortion friends so stuck in the past, I know you are desperate because you see your precious law being dismantled before your eyes. Even though it is still early in the month to get your events organized, I have to be honest with you about something. What I am seeing so far is very disappointing. Look, if you are happy about abortion, if you think ripping an innocent baby apart in the womb is so liberating that it is worth celebrating, then at least be a tiny bit more creative….because…the truth is your protests are getting so predictable that even die hard opponents like myself are losing interest in them.

Abortion app profiles and tracks pro-life advocates: can you say stalking?

Posted in Pro-choice mocking with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on December 14, 2015 by saynsumthn

The concept of reproductive rights advocates tracking pro-lifers is now out in the open with a new App from the pro-abortion founder of the Daily Show. Abortion supporters are often critical of pro-life websites that expose the horrific things they do. So, an App which alleges to “track” or “profile” pro-lifers should receive criticism from the media, correct? Wrong!

Liz Winstead launches Hinder

This summer, radically pro-abortion comedian Liz Winstead launched a Tinder parody App to “track” abortion opponents. Winstead operates the website Lady Parts Justice and her disrespectful anti-Christian and pro-abortion views make her a favorite speaker for Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood Hinder APP

“It’s like a hook-up app, but it focuses on all the sexist a–holes tirelessly fighting to crawl up in your vagina,” Winstead said when she introduced the game in a Steve Jobs-like presentation this fall, according to the NY Daily News.

Later adding, “It’s simple: Uterus begins with you.”

You can just type up your state and Boom! Hinder will pull up all the orgs that are in your area, your town or your vagina,” she says in the video which the abortion blog Reality Check described as “fake” writing:

“Of course, this is all satire. Winstead’s impersonation of Steve Jobs is just that: fake. The video is merely poking fun of the way presenters reveal new technology or ideas among a large audience of curious onlookers. The crowd was edited to whoop and holler at the most opportune moments.

    “But the app is real.”

Winstead spoke to Mother Jones about the “Hinder vision” explaining how she came up with the name, “It’s about people who are hindering access to reproductive justice. And since it’s birth control- and reproductive rights-centric, we thought, “Why not ape a traditional hookup app?” she said.

Hinder Ap abortion

A description of the App on the Lady Parts Justice website says it will expose “anti-choice douchebags with a swipe” and emphasizes that it “tracks” opponents of abortion so they can be “exposed.”

“Tired of searching for Mr. or Ms. Right, only to find Mr. or Ms. Right-wing nutbag? Hinder is an exciting new app that helps you keep track of all the unhinged anti-abortion zealots right in the palm of your hand! Just read, swipe and share! Letting people know about craptastic extremists has never been easier! Left or right, any way you swipe it, these creeps need to be exposed and with Hinder now you can!” it states.

According to the “Daily Show” founder, Apple initially rejected the pro-abortion APP, claiming it violated the company’s prohibition on defamatory, offensive, or mean-spirited content. She said they had a change of heart after the Huffington Post published this article about the APP and pointed out the the same rule Apple cited in rejecting the app also states that “professional political satirists and humorists are exempt from the ban on offensive or mean-spirited commentary.”

The App allows users to swipe Left where they are taken to a “donate” button or to swipe Right where they can share the information they read. Listed among Hinder’s profiles is a doctor who is truly giving women a choice by allowing them the option to reverse their abortions. Dr. George Delgado has successfully reversed several abortions, but, that appears to be something Winstead and Lady Parts Justice abhors – making his profile a favorite:

George Delgado Hinder

Click on Illinois and the profile for Pro-life Action League executive director, Eric Scheidler pops up:

Eric Scheidler Illinois Hinder

Hinder profiles also include 2016 presidential candidates like Senator Rick Santorium, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, Governor Bobby Jindal, and Governor Scott Walker among many other politicians. However, it would have been more shocking if Winstead had profiled the dangerous abortion and Planned Parenthood doctors or clinic staffers who injure, kill, rape, or commit despicable acts of violence on children instead. But that would require that she take an honest look at abortion which she has no intention of doing. Such a list was published in a recent Saynsumthn post feel free to share!

‘Abortionist’ kneels in bizarre prayer of thanks for killing babies

Posted in Pro-choice mocking, Pro-choice People, Pro-LIfe Action League, Society for Family Planning with tags , , , , , , , , , on November 26, 2015 by saynsumthn

In a bizarre act of gratitude for the ability to kill preborn children in the womb, an abortion supporter was caught on video kneeling in prayer next to an image of a late term aborted baby at an event sponsored by Planned Parenthood.

Abortionist Skye kneels prayer Prolife action league

The video of the incident was captured by Matt Yonke, assistant communications director for Pro-life Action League (PLAL) during a November 16, 2015 event the League was protesting where an elite group of abortion industry officials gathered to recruit and train new abortion providers. The North American Forum on Family Planning was held in Chicago and was sponsored by Planned Parenthood and the Society for Family Planning.

Society of Family Planning Planned Parenthood

According to Yonke, who wrote about the protest on the PLAL’s website, approximately 30 pro-lifers gathered to confront forum attendees. They carried photos of abortion’s victims as well as signs reading Planned Parenthood Lies to You and Planned Parenthood sells baby parts.

Yonke told Live Action News that shortly after pro-lifers gathered outside the pro-abortion forum’s venue, a woman from the forum, who identified herself as “Sky” approached them. Yonke said they often have abortion supporters speak to them while they protest so he was a little amused as he waited to see what she would do. Describing the act as “street theater,” Yonke admitted that when he witnessed the abortion supporter kneel down to give thanks for abortion next to the image of a late term aborted baby, he was a little shocked.

I was standing next to Joe Scheidler, who was holding the sign you see in the video next to her, and I think we were both kind of dumbfounded. Couldn’t believe she was saying the things she was saying!” Yonke told Live Action News.

Then when she was done, I introduced myself and tried to talk to her, but she just walked away,” he added.

Referring to abortion as “pregnancy outcome”, and placing adoption and parenting on the same par as killing the preborn child, the woman wearing what looked like a Planned Parenthood badge opened her prayer saying:

“My dear heavenly father, I’m grateful today to be here at this wonderful meeting, and I wanted to express to you the gratitude and humility that I feel as an abortionist. And, I’m thankful for the support that I have from my community, from those who love me, my family and my faith.

“I can imagine no person who is in greater need of Christlike love and excellent medical care than a woman who is faced with an unintended pregnancy. And I am grateful every day to feel thy spirit and thy guiding hand in my work as I speak to women of all faiths and all creeds.”

The prayer went on for nearly four minutes, accusing pro-lifers of judging others and thanking whomever she was praying to for her ability to be “compassionate.” She then addressed the alleged issue of “abortion stigma” while praying, “And I would hope that you would soften their hearts and help them to see the cruelty and the damage that their actions lead to.

Abortionist prayer

Ironically, while claiming “rigorous” and “scientific studies” about abortion stigma, the woman expressed her thankfulness “to be in this world” to know and use the studies to “furthering the work of the Lord.” She ended the prayer, “and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

She then got up and walked away.

Although “Sky” claimed to be an abortionist, a tweet sent to PLAL by abortion supporter Robyn Marty doubted her claim, “@ProLifeAction if that person was a provider that would literally be the first one I have every heard call him or herself an “abortionist,” Marty tweeted.

Yonke pointed out that whether this woman was an actual abortionist or not, she was connected enough to be at the conference, “which means she’s pretty deep in the industry at any rate,” he said.
