Abortion groups pledge $20M for abortion pills on California college campuses

UPDATE: SB320 passed and is on the way to the Governor’s desk

abortion pill

The push to force California colleges to provide deadly abortion pills via legislative mandate (SB320) is a dangerous idea. But it’s not being funded primarily by the state. Instead, two pro-abortion philanthropic organizations have pledged their support to the tune of nearly $20 million. According to the website StateofReform.com, SB320 needed at least $9.6 million in private funding “made available to a state fund January 1, 2019,” to move forward. As the bill is moving forward, it is relevant to ask who is behind those funds: “[T]he Funders’ Collaborative, led by the Tara Health Foundation and The Women’s Foundation of California, committed just under $20 million in funds to ensure that it will move forward at no cost to the state.”

According to a letter from TARA to the Chair of the California Appropriations Committee, TARA and The Womens Foundation “have collectively committed to just under $20 million dollars in implementation funds ready to be deployed as soon as this important bill becomes law. All of the funders will make donations to a California nonprofit organization that will be responsible for providing the $9.6 million to the California Commission”:

  • $200,000 grants to each of 34 public university student health centers
  • $200,000 grants to each of the 2 public university systems (UC and CSU)
  • $2.4 million to CCSWG for administering the fund

An additional $9.875 million dollars will be provided directly to appropriate technical assistance
advisors, and an evaluation team, as well as directly funding grants of $200,000 each for any
community colleges or private universities that wish to become ready to provide medication
abortion at their student health center.

TARA Health Foundation was founded by Ruth Shaber, an OB/GYN who held research positions at Kaiser Permanente. According to her online bio, she sits on the Medical Advisory Committee for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Shaber is also the chairman of the board of TARA’s Reproductive Health Investors Alliance, which partners with abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood, and has granted them $3.35 million.

Shaber claims the mission of TARA consists of “engaging peers to join in piloting and demonstrating the use of creative philanthropic capital to drive social and financial returns.” Those “social” returns include abortion on demand. According to its website, in 2014, Shaber named the foundation “after the goddess Tara in order to invoke the strength and compassion of a powerful female deity. Tara, a Hindu goddess later adopted in Buddhism, embodies both fierceness and maternal protection for all beings. She represents creation, wisdom, oneness and strength to overcome obstacles.”

How, exactly, does killing children via the abortion pill square with “maternal protection for all beings”?

The Women’s Foundation is led by Surina Khan, a previous staffer at the Ford Foundation and the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission. Though on paper, the Women’s Foundation advocates for a number of causes impacting women, the Foundation also gives grants to nonprofits that advance “reproductive rights” — code for abortion on demand.

According to Marj Plumb, DrPH, Chief Strategist of Policy Advocacy and Training at The Women’s Foundation, SB 320 came out of a training program called the Women’s Policy Institute. Plumb told StateofReform.com:

One of our teams a couple years ago had heard of the UC Berkeley effort [to petition the University to offer medication abortions at the campus health center] and felt that there needed to be a state law that required the state university health centers to provide medication abortion. So they partnered with Senator Leyva who helped to write the bill language and do the advocacy…

Primarily, The Women’s Foundation of California and Tera Health Foundation…helped to implement both medication and other types of abortion at Kaiser and at other facilities. Then we have other funders who are participating with us, several of whom wish to remain anonymous.

TARA’S philanthropy was recently used to prop up the abortion chain Whole Woman’s Health (WWH) while they raised legal challenges to Texas’s abortion laws, taking it all the way to the Supreme Court. An interview Shaber conducted with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Shaber explained:

One example of how we’re using capital in an integrated fashion and creatively is in how we’ve supported Whole Woman’s Health, an organization of clinics led by Amy Hagstrom Miller… because of the burden of the litigation, they needed to open and close their clinics multiple times. As a result, they had a large amount of debt, and the only place they were able to get capital from was high-interest credit card debt. When we got involved in supporting them…giving them a grant, we were able to do this private debt. It’s giving us a 3% return over five years.

Recent FDA reports indicate that almost a dozen women have died from the abortion pill and a thousand have been hospitalized. Women suffering adverse effects of the abortion pill may claim to hospital emergency rooms that they are experiencing miscarriages rather than medication abortion complications — and this can skew the real numbers of reported complications, which may have a tremendous impact on the safety of vulnerable young women.

College campuses should not be partners in killing off future generations. And no matter how much money is raised, abortion will never be a good solution for women.

Abortion strategy to fund abortion and bio-waste facilities, pass legislation

EXPOSED: Abortion groups’ plan to ‘increase supply and demand’ for abortion

A 92-page report on the Tara Health Foundation website should be reviewed by pro-life advocates across the nation, as it details upcoming strategy from abortion supporters, which includes the push for “home use” abortions. Live Action News has previously covered how the philanthropic Foundation is behind funding RU-486 pills on college campuses in California and behind propping up the abortion chain Whole Woman’s Health while it battled safety regulations in Texas.

The “US Reproductive Health Investment Case” report from October of 2017 was put together by the “Reproductive Health Investors Alliance… to determine the most effective opportunities to improve access to reproductive health services… using both philanthropy and impact investments.” The report’s stated goal? “To increase the supply of and demand for… contraceptive and abortion services.”

The report includes statistics and analysis from “ANSIRH, the Guttmacher Institute, Ibis Reproductive Health, and the Kaiser Family Foundation.”

It should be noted that these agencies have abortion connections:

“Experts” who contributed to the report include:

The executive summary begins by pointing out the target:

… specific demographic groups (18-19 year olds, Black [WOC] and Hispanic women, and low-income women) that lag behind the national average in their rates of contraceptive use, the efficacy of contraceptives used and timing of abortion.

Live Action News has documented time and again that minority groups, which have a disproportionately high rate of abortion, are the target of the population control movement.

Image: TARA Reproductive Health Investors Alliance targeting women of color

The report identifies “40 example investment opportunities,” matched to “five challenge-specific investment strategies”:

a) research and development,
b) legislation & litigation,
c) pricing & reimbursement,
d) service provision, and
e) care-seeking by underserved populations

As Live Action News has documented, the report states that, “~50% of abortions are repeat abortions (460K abortions/year)” and it defines “woman” as those “in need of high quality contraceptive and abortion services” though the report “acknowledge[s] that this is a vast simplification.” The report also adds, “The term ‘woman’ does not describe the identity of all persons who can get pregnant; conversely, not all those who identify as a woman can get pregnant.”

Image: TARA Reproductive Health Investors Alliance legislative strategies

TARA Reproductive Health Investors Alliance legislative strategies

Pro-abortion legislative and litigation strategies suggested in the report include:

  • REMS removal strategy (This is the risk management system that governs the abortion pill RU486)
  • TRAP laws removal advocacy
  • Gestational bans removal advocacy
  • Criminality of self-induced abortion removal advocacy
  • Organizing led by women of color
  • Reproductive health or democracy reform PAC donations
  • Reproductive justice PAC donations

Strategies that benefit abortion facilities include:

  • Investment in a biowaste facility that will collect from the facilities
  • Upstream investment to secure supply of firms able to build the facilities
  • Guarantees that enable the facilities to take out market rate loans
  • Readily available real estate or rental agreements for the facilities
  • Facilitate and train NPs, CNMs, PAs to commit abortions
  • Provide funding or loans for independent providers to join a telemedicine network
  • Innovations in telemedicine, mobile services, or at-home services that improve access
  • Provide free pregnancy diagnosis in abortion facilities to combat pregnancy resource centers

Image: Reproductive Health Investors Alliance abortion clinic strategy 2 of 2

Statistics from report unintentionally point to pro-life advances:

  • Since 2010, 338 state abortion restrictions have been adopted.
  • 90% of all U.S. counties lack an abortion provider.
  • 162 abortion providers closed down between 2011-2016. Only 21 abortion facilities opened during the same period.
  • An estimated 16 abortion facilities close each year due to financial challenges.
  • As of 2008, 97% of nonmetropolitan counties lacked an abortion provider.
  • There are an estimated 2,300 to 3,500 CPCs in the U.S. while there are only 1,800 abortion facilities.
  • Pregnancy resource centers outnumber these facilities 2:1.
  • Cost and difficulty getting malpractice insurance for independent providers is one of the biggest financial challenges for already resource strapped abortion facilities.
  • Viewing an ultrasound may contribute to a small proportion of women with medium or low decision certainty deciding to continue the pregnancy.
  • More than a third of Planned Parenthood’s budget comes from Medicaid, putting Planned Parenthood at risk if Medicaid funding is blocked.

The report proves the length abortion supporters intend to go to in order to guarantee the “right” to end the lives of tiny humans persons in the womb. And it clearly shows the impact that pro-life legislation, pro-life activism, and pro-life pregnancy centers are having on the abortion industry.

Bloomberg funds Planned Parenthood’s targeting of African Countries – receives award from abortion giant

On March 27, 2014, the former Mayor of New York City from 2002-2013, Mike Bloomberg, attended the Planned Parenthood Annual Gala and accepted the Global Citizen Award.

Bloomberg PP Global Citizen Award

Bloomberg “honored” other Planned Parenthood award recipients such as the Rev. William Barber ( see his details here) and Nancy Pelosi – more here.

Michael Bloomberg PP Awards

The former New York Mayor brags that they want to bring the Planned Parenthood, “family planning” – or as we like to say “Eugenics” agenda to Tanzania and other African nations. Bloomberg said he is joining with other eugenics and pro-abortion groups like the Bill Gates foundation to make this agenda come to life.

“And I am happy to say,” brags Mike Bloomberg,” our major partner in this project will be Planned Parenthood Global.”

PP Mike Bloomberg

They will also join with the United Nations to promote this agenda…surprised?

According to Bloomberg’s press release, Bloomberg Philanthropies has announced the launch of a multi-faceted $50 million reproductive health program to prevent maternal deaths and help more women freely and safely make decisions about when to have children. At the 2012 London Summit on Family Planning, Michael R. Bloomberg committed $50 million to Family Planning 2020 (FP2020), a global collaboration of governments, non-profit organizations, donors and researchers, to ensure that women in the world’s poorest countries have access to family planning information, contraceptives, and services by 2020. Funding from this $50 million commitment will be allocated to the three core components of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ reproductive health program which includes new advocacy efforts, as well as an expansion of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ existing program in Tanzania. Elements of the program will be comprised of:

Advocacy grants to strengthen reproductive health rights for women in Nicaragua, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Uganda
A rapid-response grant program to help governments and providers in 69 of the world’s poorest countries effectively deliver services
Comprehensive reproductive health services such as family planning and post-abortion care in existing and newly renovated health clinics in Tanzania, which has the eighth highest number of maternal deaths worldwide and where a woman dies from complications of pregnancy or childbirth almost every hour.”

It goes on to say, “Bloomberg Philanthropies will work with Planned Parenthood Global, the international division of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, to support advocacy efforts for vital reproductive health reform in Nicaragua, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Uganda. These countries were selected by Planned Parenthood Global and Bloomberg Philanthropies as the needs and opportunities for advocacy were great. Through grants to local organizations in these four countries, this advocacy effort aims to improve access to family planning information, contraceptives and reproductive health services for women, including particularly marginalized groups, such as youth and unmarried women.

“When women have the power to decide if and when to have children there are fewer unintended pregnancies, fewer maternal deaths, and greater opportunities for women, families and their communities,” said Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “To do this, governments need to play a stronger role to ensure that all women have access to the health care they need, no matter who they are, no matter where they live.”

The advocacy grants will support local partners’ efforts to advocate for laws and policies that support access to reproductive health services. Planned Parenthood Global will provide on-the-ground support to local organizations with technical expertise on coalition-building and media campaign development.

To contribute to unanticipated gaps in funding, Bloomberg Philanthropies is also partnering with the United Nations Foundation, which hosts FP2020, to launch a rapid-response grants program. These grants will be administered by FP2020 to improve access to family planning services in any of the 69 FP2020 focus countries. They will be deployed quickly for critical needs such as purchasing supplies in emergency situations and providing specialized trainings for health providers.”

In his speech before Planned Parenthood, Bloomberg goes on to call recent pro-life legislation passed in Texas and other states “an outrage,” calling them “steps backwards”

A CDC Abortion Surveillance Report dated November 29, 2013 revealed that in 2010, in New York City alone where Mike Bloomberg was Mayor, 81.9 percent of the babies aborted were Black or Hispanic HMMMMM.

Billionaires ban media from secret meeting, eugenics goals discussed?

Posted in Abortion, Bill Gates, Eugenics, Giving Pledge, Planned Parenthood funded by rich elites, Population Control, Population Council, Warren Buffet, Warren Buffit with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 10, 2011 by saynsumthn

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett says a private gathering at an Arizona resort where Oprah likes to hang out was a great chance for the American billionaires who have pledged to give away at least half their wealth to meet each other, compare notes, eat and laugh.

The first annual gathering of people who have committed to the Giving Pledge met May 5,2011 at the Miraval Resort, a Tucson resort owned by one of the signers—Steve Case, a philanthropist and a co-founder of America Online, and his wife, Jean.

Buffett knew only about 12 of the 61 people at a dinner before the famously gregarious Berkshire Hathaway CEO worked the room and made 40 new friends.

“They all more than fulfilled my expectations,” Buffett told The Associated Press on Friday in a telephone interview.

The media was banned from the first annual meeting of the group that has accepted the giving challenge by Buffett and his friend Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. So were extended family, advisers, secretaries and the CEOs of the foundations represented by the billionaires at the Miraval Resort in Tucson.

While they may have been closed-mouth to the outside world, they were quite chatty with each other and used the occasion to learn about their individual philanthropic pursuits. AP reports that Melinda Gates, who co-chairs the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with her husband, “was delighted by the openness of the virtual strangers.” George Kaiser, a Tulsa, Okla., philanthropist.

Since last June, 69 individuals or couples have made the giving pledge…the curiosity of many on the outside is whether the real goal is to fund Eugenics !!!!

The reasons some conclude this is that if you look over the donations of these billionaires like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet , George Kaiser and others you see a common thread of supporting pro-abortion , population control organizations !

According to Philanthropy News Digest, in 2009, the George Kaiser Family Foundation Awarded $6.6 Million to Tulsa Nonprofits

A total of $2.6 million was awarded to health organizations, including the Mental Health Association, which received $270,000, and Eastern Oklahoma Donated Dental Services, which received $90,000, while grants totaling $2.3 million were awarded to organizations that provide human services, including the Parent Child Center, which received $100,000, and LIFE Senior Services, which received $65,000. Additional grants will support education and youth development programs, enable low-income homeowners to make repairs, and provide Medicare prescription assistance to the needy.

Matching grants were awarded to thirty-four organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, and Oklahomans for Equality. Planned Parenthood appears to be a common recipient of these billionaires as the organization sets up shop inside minority communities and offers them abortions.

Access Philanthropy says that the [Warren] Buffett Foundation gave more than 100 Planned Parenthood affiliates grants ranging from $5,000 to $500,000 during the last three years.

Here is a list of just a few:
$ 267,357 to Planned Parenthood Association of Southwest and Central Florida , Sarasota , FL
$ 250,000 to Planned Parenthood of Alaska , Anchorage , AK
$ 75,000 to Planned Parenthood of Minnesota and South Dakota , Saint Paul , MN
$ 352,000 to Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside , San Diego , CA
$ 28,000 to Planned Parenthood of Shasta-Diablo , Concord , CA
$ 700,000 to Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice , Washington , DC

Did you know that Warren Buffett has given $3 billion — yes, three billion dollars — to promote abortion here in the U.S. and around the world? Often, government officials in developing countries are under pressure to control population in order to qualify for international aid. So they pressure women in the villages to get abortions. Western Europe is especially strong in pushing for abortion in these developing countries.

The Times article quotes Buffett’s late wife telling interviewer Charlie Rose, “Warren feels that women all over the world get shortchanged. That’s why he’s so pro-choice.”

Buffett, plans to commit 10 million class B shares of his company, Berkshire Hathaway, to the Gates Foundation. That foundation also supports abortion and Planned Parenthood.

Elitist: Warren Buffett says Gates Foundation t…, posted with vodpod

Fortune Magazine recently detailed the first complete public disclosure on what went down in this historic meeting of monies. In what could be potentially the biggest fundraising drive in history, Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates are hoping to inspire other billionaires to pledge at least 50 percent of their net worth to charity during their lifetimes or at death.

READ: Giving Pledge: Warren Buffet joins Bill and Melinda Gates and elites in secret meeting to Increase Giving to “Eugenic” Causes?

In 2006, Buffett endowed the Gates Foundation with 10 million Berkshire Class B shares, valued at approximately $37 billion dollars. Buffett’s 2010 donation constitutes part of the annual installment plan of 5 percent of pledged stocks to the foundation’s trust fund. The stock gives the Gates Foundation a steady source of income (the pay-out target over the coming decade is $3 billion a year) from which it can fund various other charities – which have included population control groups such as Planned Parenthood and others.

Just last month, the Gates Foundation announced they would be investing $1.5 billion in the cause of “maternal health” over the next 5 years – with a special emphasis on spreading “family planning” in the third world. (Code for pro-abortion eugenics)

Bloomberg reports that other abortion advocacy groups also received tens of millions for their work promoting abortion at home and abroad through the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, a charity Buffet set up in honor of his first wife, who died in 2005. That foundation distributed more than $2 million to the Abortion Access Project Inc., over $2 million to Catholics for Choice, a group dedicated to undermining the Catholic Church’s teaching on the sanctity of life, and more than $40 million to Ipas, a group that promotes the expansion of legal abortion in Latin and Central America, and in third world countries.

In September of 2010, The liberal group Human Rights Watch, which advocates for “gay rights” causes but also actively promotes abortion, will soon be a recipient of $100 million from left-wing activist George Soros. The billionaire announced he is donating the money so HRW can expand its efforts globally.

The donation is the largest political one Soros has made and it is the largest donation HRW has ever received.

And so it’s fascinating. At the dinner table my parents are very good at sharing the things that they were doing. And almost treating us like adults, talking about that.
My mom was on the United Way group that decides how to allocate the money and looks at all the different charities and makes the very hard decisions about where that pool of funds is going to go. Buffett Billions Padding “Charitable” Abortion Advocacy

By Peter J. Smith

OMAHA, Nebraska, July 8, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – For the last number of years American billionaire Warren Buffett, 79, has gradually been giving away his estimated $47 billion fortune – and much of it is going to support the work of abortion activists worldwide.

The Bloomberg news agency reports that Buffett’s annual gift this year to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – which supports population control efforts around the globe – was figured at $1.6 billion in Class B stock of Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett’s Omaha-based company. The amount is a 28 percent increase from last year, due to the fact that the value of Buffett’s Berkshire holdings have improved overall while the rest of the economy has tanked. Berkshire’s stock value rose 35 percent on the New York Stock Exchange over the past twelve months, and Berkshire profits rose 61 percent in 2009.

Just last month, the Gates Foundation announced they would be investing $1.5 billion in the cause of maternal health over the next 5 years – with a special emphasis on spreading “family planning” in the third world.

In fact, Ipas was implicated in 2007 as a participant in the alleged cover-up of the rape of a nine-year-old young girl named “Rosita,” by her step-father. Marta Maria Blandon, then Ipas Director for Central America, was accused of helping Francisco Fletes flee Costa Rica with his wife and “Rosita” in 2003, knowing full well that the Fletes was a suspect in the investigation. However, Blandon’s priority and that of her accomplices in the international abortion movement, was using the nine-year old’s pregnancy as a “hard case” by which they could undermine the region’s pro-life laws.

Ipas also intervened in the battle over legalizing abortion in Mexico City with false statistics, claiming that 1527 women had died from complications due to illegal abortions between the years 1990 and 2005. However pro-life advocates pointed out that the health department’s own statistics, as well as those of other agencies, contradicted that number.

Bloomberg reports that Buffett intends to give away 99 percent of his personal fortune before his death. He has pledged 85 percent of his holdings in Berkshire to the Gates Foundation, the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation and the NoVo Foundation.
