Personhood Leaders Suffer Violent Attacks from Pro-Abortion Terrorists Following ‘Newsweek’ Feature

DENVER, July 2, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ — On the heels of the release of an article profiling Personhood USA leaders Keith and Jennifer Mason, featured in Newsweek magazine and online at The Daily Beast, the Mason’s home residence was violently vandalized by pro-abortion activists. A few days after the attack, dedicated pro-life volunteer Everett Stadig was assaulted while petitioning for Colorado’s personhood initiative and suffered several injuries, including a broken hip which required surgery.

The Newsweek article profiled the Masons and their work to champion the personhood rights of every human being. The Daily Beast’s notoriously liberal audience took exception to the pro-life beliefs of the Masons, resulting in several physical threats posted in the comments beneath the article. After viewing these threats, one reader tracked down the Mason’s home address and posted it in the comment section.

“The article does state that we have three small children, and that my wife is due to deliver our fourth child very soon,” explained Keith Mason, President of Personhood USA. “It is shocking to consider that someone would be so cruel and heartless to attack a home with a pregnant woman and small children inside. Apparently, the pro-choice crowd has no more compassion for born children than they do for the preborn.”

In the middle of the night, a large rock was heaved through the double-paned glass of their front door, scattering glass throughout their living room and across the front porch, covering their children’s toys and items for the new baby. The pro-abortion criminals also spray painted coat hangers and vulgarity in large letters on the front and sides of their house.

The violence didn’t end there. The same week, Stadig was criminally assaulted, resulting in multiple injuries and hospitalization.

“Our reaction is one of puzzlement. What kind of person would terrorize the home of a family with young, innocent children inside? We’re left wondering what these abortion fanatics hoped to accomplish,” continued Mason. “Not only are these hateful attacks uncalled for, but they have renewed our resolve to press forward. It is a great testimony that even as Everett recuperates in the hospital he is undeterred, even asking hospital staff and visitors for their signatures on his personhood petition. We are all following his example, pressing forward despite hardships, determined to continue to defend the lives of women and babies – all of whom deserve better than abortion.”

Both Mississippi gubernatorial candidates agree: Amendment 26 is not a Red / Blue issue or a right / left issue – it is a Life and Death issue.

Republican candidate Phil Bryant is co-chairman of the YesOn26.net campaign, and he powerfully restates why he is voting “Yes” on 26.

Democratic candidate Johnny DuPree also supports the amendment, and shares his own personal reasons why he will be voting “Yes” on 26. Then DuPree adds, “I’m voting on the question based on what’s on what was asked in the initiative. That initiative says, ‘Where do you believe life begins?’. I believe life begins at conception.”

Thanks to both men for refusing to allow Planned Parenthood and the ACLU distract them from what’s at stake here. On November 8th, Mississippians of all political persuasions will cast their votes for life! Vote “Yes!” on 26!

If you share Mr. DuPree’s conviction as well as the “concerns” he mentioned, please get the facts about Amendment 26 here: http://yeson26.net/latest-news/scare-tactics/

Video Exposes Wolf in Sheep’s clothing: Planned Parenthood “pro-choice minister” lied to thwart pro-life law

Speaking to a crowd of Mississippi voters, Planned Parenthood spokesperson, Vincent Lachina claimed to be a Southern Baptist minister, both “prolife and prochoice”. Addressing the crowd in a clerical collar, Mississippians listened intently as Lachina shared that he grew up in Jackson and had a Mississippi heritage. Lachina boldly preached an ideology of choice from the pulpit, calling for a “no” vote on prolife Amendment 26, but left out some critical details.

Lachina failed to mention that he is the Washington State Chaplain at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In fact he is also on the board of NWIRP, which describes him this way: In November of 2004, Lachina was hired for the position of Washington State Chaplain for the Planned Parenthood affiliates of Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Northwest Oregon, based in Seattle.

He is also a speaker for NARAL- the National Abortion Rights Action League….

Jacob Dawson, of the American Family Association, was sitting in the audience and decided to do a Google search of Lachina, having never heard of a Southern Baptist preacher from Mississippi by that name – much less a pro-choice, clerical collar-wearing Southern Baptist Preacher.

Dawson got up before the crowd and stated, “A quick Google search reveals that Mr. Lachina is from Seattle, and is a chaplain for Planned Parenthood.”

Another bold faced lie by this PLANNED PARENTHOOD REPRESENTATIVE trying to oppose a pro-life law, is the fact that Lachina is NOT a Southern Baptist Minister. Southern Baptists generally oppose abortion and support the right-to-life of unborn children.

According to the group Live Action which has investigated other lies by Planned Parenthood and their employees, A Google cache of Planned Parenthood Votes! Northwest shows a profile of Vincent Lachina that you can see in its original size. The profile reads of Lachina: “He is now aligned with the more progressive American Baptist Conference and the United Church of Christ.”

Planned Parenthood Removes Lachina Profile From Website

Sometime since August 4th, when the Google cached page containing Lachina’s profile was recorded, Planned Parenthood Votes! Northwest suspiciously removed the profile of Vincent Lachina.

However, we see that Lachina used to be a member of a Southern Baptist Church and left them to become active in the more left-leaning American Baptist Organization. It appears that Lachina intentionally deceived the audience by lending allowing them to think of him as “Southern Baptist” now….According to a NARAL PDF located here:

Rev. Vincent Lachina
Panel: Reproductive rights…not just a “women’s issue” Vincent is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Born into an Italian Catholic family, his first years were in the Roman Catholic Church in preparation for the priesthood. As a teenager, he became a Protestant and joined a Southern Baptist congregation. He holds the BA in Religion and English from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and the MEd in Religion and Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. An ordained minister for more than 45 years, he has served in a variety of church positions, including: Minister of Youth, Minister to the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, Missionary to Nairobi, Kenya, Minister of Education, Church Administrator and Senior Pastor. For seven years he served the Southern Baptist Convention as a consultant and editor for youth leadership and special ministries at the Baptist Sunday School Board (now Lifeway). He is now active in the American Baptist Conference. In November 2004, Lachina was selected to take the position of Washington State Chaplain for the four Planned Parenthood affiliates of Washington (with added responsibilities in Northern Oregon, Alaska and Idaho). Vincent has lived in the Seattle area for more than 24 years. He is a proud father and grandfather. And he is currently an active lay member of Seattle’s University Baptist Church (ABC),

But I think I found the MOST Damming evidence is HIS OWN Admission that he is an “American Baptist Clergy Person” in this video from several years back:

So…did this “Planned Parenthood Chaplain” intentionally travel from Washington State to Mississippi to make false religious claims to influence Mississippi voters against a pro-life ballot measure.

Questions now are being raised over Planned Parenthood’s involvement in Lachina’s appearance in Mississippi. Did Planned Parenthood as his employer plan and pay for this religious manipulation of voters?

Here is how the Seattle Post Intellinger describes him:

Vincent Lachina, a Baptist minister spends much of his time telling the staff that God is a loving presence and that they are forgiven.

His work in Western Washington, the nation’s only Planned Parenthood affiliate to have a full-time chaplain on staff, signals a growing awareness within the abortion rights movement that disregarding the moral and religious questions shared by many supporters has been a mistake.

“By ignoring people of faith, we had, in essence, handed a political weapon to people who are against choice,” said Chris Charbonneau, president of Planned Parenthood of Western Washington, who was instrumental in getting a full-time chaplain in 2003. Lachina is the second minister to have the job.

“I expected a lot of opposition, but as I’ve traveled the state people are generally courteous and supportive of what I do,” Lachina said.

He knows his work raises eyebrows. Lachina has priest friends who won’t meet him for lunch on Planned Parenthood’s property. His own family, Republican abortion foes all, nearly fainted when he announced who his new employer would be.

“They just collectively sucked all the air out of the room and wanted to fall to their knees and pray,” he said. ” ‘Oh, why would you do something like that?’ they kept asking.”

The reason, Lachina says, is that he believes women should be able to do what they want with their bodies and that they are, little by little, losing that right through the courts.

BUT…..

San Diego attorney pleads guilty in ‘baby-selling ring’
August 9, 2011 | LA Times

A prominent San Diego attorney pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to being part of what U.S. Atty. Laura Duffy labeled a “baby-selling ring.”

Theresa Erickson, a lawyer specializing in reproductive law, pleaded guilty to wire fraud for allegedly transmitting phony documents to deceive both the San Diego County Superior Court and couples seeking to become parents. Two other people in the alleged ring have also pleaded guilty.

According to court documents, Erickson hired women in San Diego to go to Ukraine to be implanted with embryos created from the sperm and eggs of donors.

Once a woman was in the second trimester of pregnancy, she would return to San Diego and Erickson would “shop” the babies by falsely telling couples that a couple who had intended to adopt the baby had backed out of the deal. The new couple would then be charged between $100,000 and $150,000, according to prosecutors.
“These were people who desperately wanted babies,” said Assistant U.S. Atty. Jason A. Forge.

Court documents mention a dozen unnamed couples who received babies in this manner from Erickson and the two co-defendants. Women who agreed to carry the embryos to term were paid between $38,000 and $40,000, Forge said.

Erickson would then file documents with the court asserting that the baby was part of an existing pre-pregnancy agreement between the woman carrying the fetus and the couple — thus allowing the couple to be listed as the parents of the child on the birth certificate.

California law, Forge said, bans profiteering on the transfer of parental rights.

The women were sent to Ukraine to have the embryos implanted because no U.S. physician would perform an implantation without documents proving that an agreement existed between the woman and what the law calls the “intended parents,” Forge said.

The couples who “bought” the babies did not believe they were breaking the law, Forge said. The babies were healthy and the couples will not have their parental rights taken away.
Erickson, 43, who has been a guest on national TV discussing reproductive law issues, is set for sentencing Oct. 28. Wire fraud carries a maximum sentence of five years; under a plea agreement, Erickson has also agreed to pay restitution.

Senate Judiciary Takes on Personhood Debate
By Kacey Drescher
Story Created: Mar 28, 2011 at 10:38 PM MDT

A Republican lawmaker is asking the Senate Judiciary committee to allow Montana voters to decide if life begins at conception.

Representative Wendy Warburton’s (R – Havre,) “personhood” debate drew an emotional and at times tense debate Monday morning. House Bill 490 would call for a constitutional referendum to amend the constitution defining “person” to include “all members of the species homo sapiens at any stage of development.”

Those in opposition say the bill which gives due-process rights to a fetus at the moment of conception, blatantly violates Roe v. Wade and those in support continue to argue that same Supreme Court case is unconstitutional.

“Saying that unborn children are not persons and you should be able to have an abortion is like being able to look me in the eye and say to me I think your mother should have been able to abort you which is like saying if I had my way, you’d be dead right now,” says Rebecca Kiessling, who was conceived due to a rape.

“This is about religion, and I cannot state strongly enough that it is a very, very bad idea to make policy decisions that impact all of us from a religious perspective,” says Lindsay Love with Planned Parenthood.

A constitutional amendment requires support from two-thirds of the Montana Legislature. The House already backed this bill with 65 Representatives supporting it.

Lindsey Love was a candidate for HD 25 a Montana House District covering the northwest region of Great Falls, MT
