A Planned Parenthood billboard has only been up a week in one South Memphis neighborhood, but some people there already want it to come down.

They say the billboard, which includes the message “Getting It On Is Free” and a picture of a condom, is too graphic.

“I was shocked. I was appalled that anyone would put up a picture of condom,” said Karen Wallace.

Karen Wallace works at a church nearby and has to drive by the billboard every day.

She said what is worse it’s right next to an elementary school cross walk.

“The graphic was not necessary the message was enough,” said Wallace.

A dad who saw the sign for the first time Thursday agreed and said it’s not something he wants his children to see.

“No! It ain’t nothing to send out to my kids,” said Rickey Munn.

Despite residents like it or not, the message is guaranteed to spark a conversation.

“We want to normalize condoms. Take the stigma away out of using them. Make it cool and responsible, [and] part of a loving and trustful relationship,” said Ashley Coffield with Planned Parenthood.

Tax funded Planned Parenthood’s “Info for teens” it is okay to “Swallow Semen”

Posted in Planned Parenthood and sex parties, Planned Parenthood in schools, Planned Parenthood on School Campus, Planned Parenthood Parties, Planned Parenthood sex ed, Planned Parenthood Videos, Sex Ed with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 21, 2012 by saynsumthn

The next time Planned Parenthood is invited to your school, or you think tey should be supported, remember what they are telling your kids:

It is OKAY TO SWALLOW SEMEN

According to a post on Planned Parenthood’s: Ask the Experts dated: August 21, 2012

Is it okay if u swallow semen?

Whether or not it’s “okay” to swallow semen depends on whether or not you’re okay with it. There’s nothing unhealthy, wrong, or dirty about swallowing semen, as long as you’re comfortable with it.

It’s not possible to get pregnant from oral sex, whether or not you swallow. (That’s because your mouth isn’t connected to your reproductive organs.) But having unprotected oral sex (again, whether or not you swallow) can put both partners at risk for a number of STDs, including gonorrhea, hepatitis B, herpes, and humanpapilloma virus (HPV). For safer oral sex, use a condom to cover the penis, or a dental dam to cover the vulva.

‘It’s Your Game’ sex ed program targets 7th and 8th graders

Planned Parenthood is on the prowl again, with a sex ed program called It’s Your Game: Keep it Real, targeting 7th and 8th graders with a curriculum based on videos and computer games. The Norwich City School District in New York posts on its website a note from the 7th grade health class: “We’re excited this year to welcome Planned Parenthood into Health Class.”

The post contains a “summary” of the It’s Your Game program that in no way prepares parents for what will be taught to their children by these Planned Parenthood operatives. “The curriculum, which will be facilitated by trained educators from Planned Parenthood, focuses on healthy relationship strategies and risk reduction strategies that have been proven to delay sexual behaviors among adolescents,” the summary says.

But here is the link to one of the many videos the young people will be shown in the course of the 24 classes that span two years of middle school. Entitled “Condom Platoon,” it is the saga of condoms that are used incorrectly by a young man named Marvin who has decided to have sex for the very first time with his girlfriend. Marvin and his girlfriend are “pretty serious” about each other, according to the video, and “they really care about each other.” It goes on to say that “one day, they might get married.” (Cue wedding bells in the background–really.) But for now, “they’ve decided they want to have sex, and they’re taking precautions so they don’t get pregnant, or get HIV or another sexually transmitted disease.”

“They’re alone,” the creepy announcer says as he sets the stage for the upcoming sexual encounter and dims the lights—“that special moment, the music, the lights—the condoms.”
Flash to the box of talking condoms. The leader of the “condom platoon” opens with, “Being a condom is a fulfilling career—a career of service and protection. We cover your needs.” In the course of the video, the children are taught that there are many kinds of condoms to choose from, including those that glow in the dark.

But wait, how does a video like this—a video that shows two young people on the couch together apparently nude—encourage young tweens and teens to delay sexual activity as the parents were promised? The answer is obvious—it does not. It simply encourages children to do what Planned Parenthood promises parents it will discourage them from doing. Planned Parenthood’s escapade into Norwich middle schools is funded by taxpayers through a CAPP (Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention) grant, administered by the New York Department of Health.

The It’s Your Game program is gaining traction in many school districts, especially in Texas, where the University of Texas School of Public Health developed the program and is very aggressively pushing it into more than 80 middle schools in the Houston area. “Instead of relying on textbooks and lectures, they embraced videos and computer games, creating an interactive program that captures the fragmented teenage attention span,” a UTHealthLeader.org article brags of the program.

All four developers of It’s Your Game have connections to Planned Parenthood, including being listed as “investigators” in a project that has the University of Texas Prevention Research Center (UTPRC) partnering with Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in a project based on the theme, “From Healthy Children to Healthy Adults.” This project is listed as the Core Activity of UTPRC, where all the developers of It’s Your Game work as professors. The program has received funding from 2009 through 2014 for the project from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On its Facebook page, UTPRC clarifies:

In line with this mission, UTPRC researchers, led by director Susan Tortolero PhD, will focus their work for the next five years on adolescent sexual health. The core research centers around mobilizing community partnerships for effective sexual health education in middle school. Through a collaborative research study, investigators will develop, implement, and evaluate a dissemination intervention to get effective sexual health programs into middle schools in Harris County.

As an added incentive, the curriculum is provided free of charge to schools.

These professors are producing the statistics that say the program is effective at reducing the onset of teen sexual activity. Yet, they are the very people who are benefitting financially from their partnership with Planned Parenthood and the perpetuation of Planned Parenthood inspired sex education programs, via government grants. Dr. Susan Tortolero, one of the developers of the It’s Your Game program, is the director of the University of Texas Prevention Research Center. She is also vice chair for the Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.

In Austin, LifeWorks partners with Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region and Austin Independent School District (AISD) in gobbling up a $2.9 million TPPI Tier 1 funding grant to implement the “REAL Talk” program. “REAL Talk” administers It’s Your Game: Keep It Real to seventh and eighth grade students and Reducing the Risk to ninth and tenth grade students attending AISD schools. TPPI is President Obama’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative, and is funded by the federal government to the tune of $110 million.

To the Houston parent whose inquiry prompted us to research It’s Your Game to see whether Planned Parenthood is involved, the answer is a resounding yes! If you are fighting this program in Texas or elsewhere, please contact stopp@all.org. We will compile a list of those involved in the fight, and those interested in stepping up to fight it in their local schools, so that we can share information and strategy.

Planned Parenthood then took those hard earned dollars away from poor and middle class hard working people and it paid its president, Cecile Richards, $385,163, plus another $11,876 in benefits and deferred compensation. ( View 2008 990 here )

The $385,163 in pay Planned Parenthood President Richards received in the organization’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was recorded in the group’s publicly available Internal Revenue Service Form 990 filed for that year.

Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year. Citizens Riled by State-Funded Sex Education Website which refers to Planned Parenthood

Massachusetts Pro-Life Group Riled by State-Fun…, posted with vodpod

The Boston Herald explains:

A state-funded sex education Web site that tells teens an abortion is “much easier than it sounds” has drawn fire from outraged pro-lifers who say mariatalks.com is glossing over ugly truths, steering teens toward the controversial procedure and counseling them how to keep mom and dad in the dark.

“The commonwealth is using taxpayer money to tell kids how to get a secret abortion, and that’s wrong,” said Linda Thayer, a former Boston schoolteacher who is vice president for educational affairs of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, which this week took aim at the site.

“This is a misuse of state funds, especially for parents who are taxpayers,” said Thayer, who also blasted the Web site for “deception by omission” for describing abortion simply as “when the contents of the womb (uterus) are removed.”

Mariatalks.com, featuring fictional hip teen “Maria,” who addresses teens in a breezy tone, has been produced since 2008 by the AIDS Action Committee with $100,000 annual grants from the state Department of Public Health. The money also covers a sex-crisis hotline and other outreach efforts.

AIDS Action Committee chief Rebecca Haag, in a statement defending the Web site, said, “We feel strongly that the issues that are addressed through the Maria Talks Web site are essential in safeguarding the general, sexual health of youth by informing them of their risk for unintended pregnancies, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.”

Maria tells teen readers abortion is a “hot topic” but that the procedure is “more common than you might think” and “safe and effective, though some people may experience temporary discomfort.” The site’s discussion of risk is limited to advising that it is better to get an abortion sooner rather than later.

In another segment, Maria says to Massachusetts teens, “The reality of getting an abortion is much easier than it sounds here.” In contrast, a more cautionary Maria counsels on another page that adoption “can be pretty tough for some people, especially emotionally.”

Of conflicted feelings over abortion, Maria counsels that one of her fictional friends found it a “difficult decision” but decided the procedure was the “best choice . . . for herself, her boyfriend, her family and her future.”

Of bypassing parental approval, Maria says, “It may be really hard for you to imagine talking to either your parents or a judge about getting an abortion, but there are people who can help you through it.”

The site then directs teens to Planned Parenthood, saying that agency will either help them talk to parents or provide a lawyer to guide them through the judicial process.

Knox County mother upset over Planned Parenthood at school

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knox County mother wants Planned Parenthood out of the public school system and away from her children.

The organization is on the approved speakers list this year for mandatory health and wellness classes.

“This is about us having a right as parents to control what our children our taught,” said Kymberly McCormick.

She says she had no idea Planned Parenthood was going to teach her 16-year-old daughter at Hardin Valley Academy.

“I don’t have an objection to the sex education. It’s this group,” she said. “It’s their whole philosophy.”

McCormick was shocked by what she found on the Planned Parenthood website, and its links, given to her daughter during class.

“They talk about something they call outer course. It’s basically everything you can think of besides intercourse. It’s very graphic, beyond what most parents would consider appropriate for their children,” she said.

Her daughter, Alaynna, agrees. “This is not about sexual education. This is about sexual instruction and sexual encouragement,” she said. “People assume that a whole bunch of educators have gone through this stuff. They assume that it’s safe, and it’s not.”

In fact, the Knox County School District says, “Planned Parenthood is currently recognized by the state and locally as a community resource agency with a reviewed presentation appropriate for the state mandated curriculum.”

But officials admit, “At Hardin Valley academy, the teacher did make a mistake in October and did not send ‘opt out’ forms home with students in advance.”

“This is the technological age. Teenagers are going to take that website and the information given to them, go home, and look it up and parents have no idea. No idea,” Alaynna said.

Concerned parents invite the community to come learn more about Planned Parenthood in Knox County schools. The meeting will be on January 27 at 6:30 p.m. at The Chancery Office at 805 Northshore Drive, SW.

Planned Parenthood of Middle & East TN said, “Planned Parenthood provides age-appropriate, medically-accurate sex education programming. The curriculum we use has been reviewed and approved by professionals from the Knox County School District.”
