A long time pro-life leader has endorsed another long time pro-life leader for Senate in the state of Ohio. Operation Rescue president Troy Newman has just released a statement of endorsement for long time pro-life leader Janet Folger Porter for the Ohio state Senate. As Saynsumthn has previously reported, Porter is challenging what she called an establishment opponent who has refused to pass the pro-life Heartbeat bill.

Porter is the former legislative director of Ohio Right to Life which she now criticizes for supporting her opponent. Porter also authored and helped to pass the first ban on the infamous partial-birth abortion procedure. She has also worked to pass the pro-life Heartbeat Bill in Ohio – legislation she criticizes her opponent, Larry Obhof, for not supporting. Porter also claims that Obhof funded ObamaCare.

Describing Porter as a “stalwart hero for the unborn children,” Newman who is also a founding board member of the Center for Medical Progress the pro-life organization whose undercover videos exposed Planned Parenthood’s baby parts harvesting operation, testifies to Porter’s courage, honesty, and loyalty noting that she, “would be loyal to the core because Janet is not a politician.”

Adding:

“See, if you can trust a politician with the life of an unborn baby, you can trust them with your tax dollars, you can trust them with issues of immigration, of education, of national defense, and anything else because life is first and foremost.”

Porter has vowed to repeal Commoncore, defund ObamaCare and end abortion. She has been endorsed by other notables such as 2016 former Presidential candidate Governor Mike Huckabee, Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson, Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum, Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel and others, urging supporters to cast their vote for Folger on election day.

Janet Folger Porter founded the organization Faith2Action and is on the ballot for Senate District 22, representing Ashland, part of Holmes County, Medina and Richland counties. The election will be held in the state of Ohio next week!

Also on the ballot will be the Governor of the State of Ohio who is running for president. Porter voted for Kasich for Governor because of his pro-life commitment but now says that Kasich has betrayed the pro-life movement by his refusal to support the Heartbeat Bill as Ohio governor.

Pro-life leader who once survived arson attack challenges “obstructionist Republican establishment” in Ohio Senate

A long-time pro-life leader has decided to run for the Senate in the state of Ohio to challenge what she calls “the establishment” which has refused to pass the pro-life Heartbeat bill. Janet Folger Porter has been fighting abortion for over thirty years. Her leadership helped pass the first ban on the infamous partial birth abortion method. In that procedure, the abortionist delivers the preborn child up to the shoulders, he then pierces the child’s skull with a pair of medical scissors and suctions out the brain tissue, enabling the collapse of the baby’s head which kills the child. The procedure was defended by Hillary Clinton during her term as a US Senator.

Janet Head Shot Hi-Res

It was this now illegal abortion procedure that appeared to be described by a high ranking staffer at Planned Parenthood caught on under cover video by the Center for Medical Progress who exposed their grisly baby harvesting operation. As a result, pro-lifers have called for an investigation into the potential that Planned Parenthood is violating the law.

I have known Janet Porter for many years. I have followed her bold stand as well as her witty and brilliant personality. What you see in Janet publicly, rest assured is the same privately. She is one of the most honest, godly, and hard working woman I have ever met. Janet is 100% committed to the cause of defending the preborn child in the womb. But, her stand has not been an easy one. Over the years, Janet has made a number of enemies. She is feared by groups like Right-Wing Watch who describes her an “anti-choice” threat and has published numerous alerts on her views. Janet told Saynsumthn that she is the most “watched” female by the pro-abortion group, second only to Michele Bauchman. In response to the criticism, Janet said that she not deterred by those who oppose her, telling Saynsumthn that, “When you spend your life standing for God’s word and His principles people don’t always say nice things about you.”

Janet Folger Porter prolife Bomb Threat

Tragically, words are not the only “ammunition” that have been used by Janet’s enemies over the years. The pro-life leader has also received numerous threats, including having her vehicle sabotaged when someone cut her gas line. It happened in 1994 when abortion was front and center in the news much like it is today. Janet recalled seeing smoke coming out of her car prior to a political rally for a pro-life Democrat candidate she had planned to attend. After getting out of the car she saw a line of fire from the driveway into her garage, but thankfully the fire was confined to her car engine and she was not hurt. The fire was ruled as arson and although no one was ever charged, Janet had her suspicions that she was targeted because of her pro-life activism.

“The arson investigator said the attack was deliberate. The banner headline of the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Friday, May 13, 1994, read: Right to Life Leader’s car Sabotaged, Odds are it is connected to abortion issue, police say.” The sticker on the bumper read: “Abortion? Pick on someone your own size.”

Janet wrote about the incident in her book, True to Life where she published this image of her burnt out car.

Janet’s thirty years of pro-life activism began in high school where she was first convicted about abortion after she was shown a picture of an aborted baby for the first time. Today, Janet has spent the last few years working to pass the Heartbeat Bill in Ohio. This legislation works on the premise that if death is decided when a heartbeat ends, then life should be protected when the heartbeat begins. She told Saynsumthn that her involvement in a failed pro-life initiative in South Dakota helped birth the concept behind the Heartbeat Bill.

“The Supreme Court has said states can intervene and protect life in the womb if there is a likelihood of survival to live birth. But right now they are picking viability as their marker. Well, we have a better one. It’s called the heartbeat,” she said adding that, “Heartbeat is an indicator of life that is universally recognized across the wold, why should we ignore it when it comes to the very young?” she asked.

janet-porter-heart-balloons

Janet said she is committed to protecting every preborn child in the womb, but for now, “If we can’t rescue all the children out of the burning building all at once, you carry out as many as you can – then go back for the rest,” she explained.

It was her passion to pass the Heartbeat Bill in the Ohio legislature that promoted her decision to run for state Senate. Janet said that she is hoping to unseat incumbent state Republican Senator Larry Obhof and that she is running against what she calls “the Republican establishment.” According to Janet the so-called “establishment” has “blocked the most pro-life bill to ever pass the Ohio House of Representatives, the Heartbeat Bill” which Janet calls, “our best chance to save the most lives.”

“They will tell you how pro-life they are. In fact, my opponent will claim to have a 100%n voting record. Well that is easy to do when you never vote on the most pro-life bill, the Heartbeat Bill which has the most chance to save lives,” she stated.

Janet has accused her opponent, Larry Obhof, with refusing to initiate and sign a discharge petition to bring the pro-life Heartbeat Bill to the floor for a vote. “He claimed to a local news outlet that I never asked him to sign it,” Porter said.

So I delivered the proof: the receipt of the certified letter which I sent to him on October 21st along with the return postcard which showed that he, in fact, received it.”

Janet’s determination has brought her before Ohio lawmakers many times with several victories along the way. Janet has had plenty of experience with lawmakers. After she co-founded Students for Life in 1985 at Cleveland State University as an undergrad student she became Legislative Director of Ohio Right to Life for nearly a decade. It was in this role that Janet helped pass pro-life laws including the Woman’s Right to Know law (with a 24 hour waiting period), Parental Consent, Fetal Homicide, protection against dehydration and starvation, as well as the nation’s first ban on Partial Birth Abortion.

Janet explained that after asking others to run against what she calls the “obstructionist Republican establishment” she stepped up when no one responded. “If nobody else would do it, I put my own faith to action and I pulled petitions to run for the state Senate.” But, the feisty pro-life female leader said she has also launched her political campaign for the cause of liberty, “The more I think about it, we could have a lot of fun in the Ohio Senate. Instead of being on the outside begging them for their vote, we could actually take our government back! Because, you know what? It doesn’t belong to the establishment incumbents – it belongs to we the people.”

Janet said that her campaign needs a lot of prayer, support, feet on the ground and, of course plenty of contributions. Early voting in the state begins in a few months and the election will take place March 15, 2016. But, despite the uphill battle, Janet remained optimistic about her chances of winning:

“Here’s my chances with God all things are possible.”

Women for Hillary? Not so much – exposed as pro-abortion !

Pro-lifers expose Hillary Clinton’s abortion support outside an Ohio event where a relatively small crowd of Clinton supporters gathered.

The grassroots organizing met last Thursday in downtown Columbus dubbed “Women for Hillary” was a platform where Hillary discussed equal pay for women, paid leave, and abortion.

A press release of the event mentioned Hillary’s support of Planned Parenthood:

As president, Clinton will protect funding for Planned Parenthood, and will fight Republican efforts to take away women’s right to basic healthcare like affordable birth control,” it said.

FOX’s Ed Henry attended the Ohio rally and tweeted that Hillary’s turnout was poor,”@HillaryClinton about to speak in Columbus, OH — Ohio State campus a few miles away & yet she has few hundred people at event”

Later adding in later adding in a Fox report that, “Looks looks Ohioan women might not be into Hillary.

Outside the Hillary event, pro-lifers said the Democrat presidential hopeful should not be nominated because she supports abortion.

One women who opposed Hillary for her abortion support said:

“Hillary Clinton stayed about an hour, spoke to a group of supporters, got them all fired up to support her for President….and she exited and was all smiles…thinking we were FOR her…until she caught sight of the abortion victim images again.”

Mark Harrington, president of Created Equal PAC, included in a group of about 20 pro-life advocates greeted Ms. Clinton with signs that read, “Hillary Clinton supports killing children.”

Hillary Clinton does not deserve to be the Democrat nominee nor be the President of the United States,” Harrington said.

She’s disqualified because she supports the killing of preborn babies.” he added.

On a bullhorn to Clinton supporters, Harrington reminded them of Hillary’s support of Planned Parenthood recently exposed for their grisly harvesting of aborted baby parts.

She also supports the harvesting and trafficking in human baby parts. That’s selling hearts, liver, and lungs.

“This isn’t about equality, this isn’t about women’s rights. This isn’t about ‘reproductive rights.’ This is about protecting the weak from the strong. Protecting the preborn, the children and protecting them from the hands of Planned Parenthood who not only kills them but sells the baby parts for profit.”

“A vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote to kill children and harvesting their baby parts for profit.” Harrington said.

John Kasich’s pro-life stand questioned over failure to pass Heartbeat Bill

Posted in 2016 Presidential Race, Heartbeat Bill with tags , , , , , , , , on August 24, 2015 by saynsumthn

Governor_John_KasichWhen presidential candidate John Kasich said that conservatives, “Focus Too Much on Abortion,” pro-lifers were shocked. After all they worked to get the Republican Governor elected in Ohio.

Now, the GOP nominee hopeful has become the target of scorn for his refusal to pass a law that would make abortions illegal at the time the baby’s heart begins. It is called the Heartbeat Bill and some in Ohio feel he is not presidential material considering his opposition to the legislation. The Buckeye state governor vetoed the Bill claiming it would endanger other abortion restrictions if it were challenged in court.

Janet Porter

In an interview with LifeSiteNews Faith2Action president Janet Porter, who voted for Kasich for Governor because of his pro-life commitment now says that Kasich has betrayed the pro-life movement by his refusal to support the Heartbeat Bill as Ohio governor.

The Bill would prohibit abortion when an unborn child’s heartbeat can be detected which is usually around 6 weeks gestation.

I’m calling on the John Kasich I used to know. The guy who would do what was right no matter what the political establishment thought,” she said.

Porter recently organized a picket outside a Kaisch event with signs reading, “Pro-Lifers Against Kasich” and “Kasich Heartless on HeartBeat Bill.”

She told reporters that Kasich only claimed to be pro-life but that he was, “Blocking the most pro-life bill in the nation.”

Kaisch protest abortion heartbeat 2015

“We’re encouraging him to let his actions match his words,
” she said.

While Porter is challenging Kasich on his committeemen to life, the Governor said recently on the Hugh Hewitt show that his pro-life actions anger abortion supporters while he claims that he is simultaneously called the most pro-life Governor to ever old that office in the state.

“Nobody should be confused about where I am on the matter of life. It’s a very important issue, it’s a critical issue,” he said.

“I’ve been pro-life from the time I was state Senator to a Congressman for 18 years. And we’ve enacted a number of provisions right here in Ohio including a ban on late term abortions and making sure that clinics have hospital transfer agreements – I mean just a whole variety of things we have done.

The fact that you have both sides arguing about who I am – I guess that’ probably a really good thing,” Kasich said.

Porter, who campaigned for Kasich in the 1990’s, said America needs to end abortion and she is getting weary of waiting for politicians to get behind efforts to do so.

Her Faith2Action website calls quote – pro-life – unquote politicians like Kasich who refuse to pass bills to outlaw abortion culpable in allowing vulnerable unborn babies to be targeted by the grisly body parts harvesting industry recently documented by the Center for Medical Progress inside Planned Parenthood.

F2A Kasich abortion

To get her message out about Kasich, Porter has created an advertisement tying Kasich’s postion with the recent Planned Parenthood videos exposing a gruesome baby parts harvesting operation. The political ad is graphic and implies that Kasich is unwilling to protect 20,000 unborn babies in Ohio, while calling himself pro-life.

Kasich Porter abortion

Which is worse, selling baby body parts or allowing them to die in the first place” her website states.

Porter goes after Kasich on that very point in her video encouraging viewers to:

Tell Gov. Kasich we need to save hearts not sell them!

    Pass the Heartbeat Bill now.

The political ad is likely to shock some people and Porter believes it is needed to pressure the Governor and Presidential hopeful into doing all he can to end this holocaust against the unborn.

Governor John Kasich must either support the pro-life Heartbeat Bill or quit calling himself pro-life,” Porter added.

Baby killing Planned Parenthood asks where RTL movement is “for babies who have left womb”

Posted in Planned Parenthood CEO, Planned Parenthood six digit salary, Pro-choice Spin, Pro-Life with tags , , , , , , , , , on April 29, 2015 by saynsumthn

I recently came across a ridiculous tweet from Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio.

Planned Parenthood RTL babies left womb

It read, “Where is the right to life movement for the babies that have left the womb?!”

I never understand these kind of messages or questions especially from the killer of babies.

To me, if Planned Parenthood were to be honest, they could have tweeted this way, “Where is the right to life movement for the babies we fail to murder?”

But to the larger point of accusing pro-life people of not caring for born babies I always ask those posing this question, do you know every pro-life person?

I happen to know quite a few and have found them to be among the most generous people you could meet.

Many volunteer hours of their week to help single moms, babies, the sick, elderly, disabled, etc.

They run and fund soup kitchens, hospitals, pregnancy centers, schools, medical centers, work as volunteers for various community organizations, not to mention their donations to churches which also help the poor and downtrodden.

As a pro-lifer for over 30 years I have personally taken in pregnant girls, supported them, helped single moms pay for the schooling of their children, babysat, gave car rides, worked in my community in various ways, supported many organizations who also help the poor, visited prisons, gave emotional support to the elderly and those with emotional and physical disabilities, fed the homeless, and on and on and on.

Generally, when an abortion advocate makes this claim to me in person, I immediately challenge them to open their check book register and show me all the ways they contribute to the poor. I challenge them to show me their check register and I will show them mine. This is not a bragging point, it is just that the ridiculous claim that pro-lifers don’t care about born people must be refuted.

I find most pro-lifers to be simple and honest people who would never wear their charitable activities on their sleeve. For that, they get slandered and falsely accused.

Planned Parenthood of all groups knows this accusation is a bold faced lie.

In 2013 alone, Planned Parenthood reported performing 327,653 abortions.

The organization gets half a billion in federal tax revenues annually which they use to line the pockets of their directors and employees with six digit salaries.

STephanie K Knight PP OH pic

Case in point, Stephanie F. Kight is the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and its advocacy arm, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio who posted the tweet that inspired this blog post.

If you look at the 2012 990 for Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio alone, Kight earned $229,500.

I don’t know about you – but a lot of “born people” could get help with that kind of money.

STephanie K Knight PP OH 2

In reading their slanderous tweet it reminds me that if a group will lie to be allowed to legally murder babies for profit – they will lie about anything!

But, just in case Planned Parenthood reads this blog post, perhaps they will learn the most important point and that is, for a person to need help outside the womb they first need to make it out of the womb and not aborted.

Pro-life leader: given choice between supporting political establishment and life, I choose life

Posted in Heartbeat Bill with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 9, 2014 by saynsumthn

Janet PorterLast month, Faith 2 Action founder, Janet Porter held a rally and press conference in front of the Ohio statehouse to ask the Governor and the legislature to protect unborn babies by passing the Heartbeat bill.

The Heartbeat law would protect unborn children from abortion at the point a heartbeat can be detected.

The group’s message to Gov. John Kasich, House Speaker William Batchelder and Senate President Keith Faber read:

Every day in Ohio, 70 babies with beating hearts are brutally killed by abortion–something you pledged to END (not just regulate). These are not statistics. They are real babies who will fill these clothes if only you will call upon the legislature to pass the Heartbeat Bill for you to sign into law. Please make protecting these babies a top priority before the election. The price of inaction is far too high.”

1397957_10203712612310172_5454555622412165544_o

To drive her point home, Porter, along with several local pastors, delivered 70 empty baby outfits, which represent the actual of unborn children that would be saved each day if Ohio were to pass the Heartbeat Bill.

Screenshot 1

Porter now says that the Governor has refused to listen to their requests to pass the Heartbeat Bill, so she has penned an open letter to the Governor, threatening to not vote for him, which has been published in the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Porter writes, “I voted for John Kasich for Governor and was thrilled when he won. That’s because I knew him to be a man who would do what was right, no matter the cost.

Back in the 1990’s, Congressman Kasich asked me to speak at events on his behalf. I readily agreed. Then, like now, he had a weak opponent. But I campaigned my heart out for him anyway – speaking at candidate forums and even debating his opponent.

Then, when I ran for Republican State Central Committee against the “establishment” Secretary of the Party, I ran with the endorsement of Congressman Kasich. When John called me on Election Night, I told him the preliminary results were 60-40. He responded with consolation.

“Don’t feel bad,” he said. “They spent more money to campaign against you then they did me!” He rattled off all the mailers and phone calls he had received against me. When I told him it was 60-40 in my favor, he couldn’t believe it. You see, he didn’t really expect me to win, but John Kasich was willing to support the underdog if he thought it was the right thing to do.

That was back when I was legislative director of Ohio Right to Life, when we dreamed of the day we could do more than just regulate abortion. That day is here.

But today’s Republican establishment is too fearful to do the right thing. The Heartbeat Bill, which will protect unborn children with detectable heartbeats, passed the Ohio House last session, but Republicans in the Ohio Senate broke their promise to pass it “after the election.”

So I called on Governor Kasich. In fact, I called everyone I knew who was close to Kasich, imploring them to enlist his help to pass the Heartbeat Bill before the 2012 session clock ran out. I reached out to legislators, cabinet members, his closest advisors – and several hand-delivered a letter from Dr. Jack Willke, founder of Right to Life, pleading for the governor’s help.

He got the letter, but he did not act.

Nearly 100,000 dead babies later, we are still asking the governor to make protecting lives a priority.

Three weeks ago, I met with the governor’s legislative director and HHS assistant policy director, and was assured that our message to the Governor would be placed on his desk. Our message was attached to 70 empty baby outfits – representing the daily cost of inaction.

Ohio Vid Janet Porter

Some “leaders” are patting themselves on the back for regulating how and where we kill children. Their results? More than 23,000 dead babies every year in our state – the equivalent of a stadium full of people. If you think killing a stadium full of people each year is something to be celebrated, you’re either a terrorist or you’ve lowered the bar on what it means to be pro-life a bit too far.

We’ve heard the excuse that the lower courts won’t like it. No kidding. The lower courts didn’t like our ban on late-term partial birth abortion either. Even the Supreme Court said no, before reversing itself seven years later. To never challenge Roe v. Wade is to embrace its bloody consequences.

I’m calling on the John Kasich I used to know. The guy who would do what was right no matter what the political establishment thought. Governor, I’m asking you to fight to pass the Heartbeat Bill as if lives depend on it. Because they do.

Break away from the status quo establishment, and do what is right – before the election. Because given the choice between supporting the political establishment and life, I choose life.”

Letter and Vid against Ohio GOv Janet Porter

To increase the pressure on the Governor, Porter has asked her supporters to publish her cartoon video on social media.

The vid tells the Governor, “We need you to fight for our children because the cost of delay is just too high.”

It asks voters, “If you hired someone to do a job, and they didn’t do it, would you hire them again?

Cartoon Janet Porter Ohio Gov

The cartoon suggests that Ohio politicians are putting off saving as many lives from abortion as they could.

Everyday of delay, we lose a school bus full of children the Heartbeat bill would protect,” the vid warns.

The cartoon vid asks Janet’s supporters to contact the Governor and tell him to, “call for a Vote on the pro-life Heartbeat bill before he asks us to hire him again.”
