Glitter bombs sent to pro-life offices across the country by abortion supporters

A series of glitter bombs have been sent by abortion advocates to pro-life groups across the country.

The latest report comes from Life News in an e-mail message:

    Our office has been bombed!

No, we were not the victim of the kind of bombing you see on the nightly news that claims people’s lives and causes them to live in fear of terror. Instead, LifeNews has been the victim of pro-abortion glitter bombs.

Over the last few weeks, abortion activists have sent several glitter bomb letters to LifeNews, some with threatening messages. When our staff open the letters, glitter poured inside goes everywhere and makes a huge mess.

    medium_image-550b38554150502dac170100-coalesced

While these glitter bombs are insulting and intimidating rather than life-threatening — they contain an inspiring reminder: the pro-abortion side knows LifeNews is effective!

As the most-visited pro-life place on the Internet – with almost 20 million visitors already this year – abortion advocates know LifeNews is presenting the pro-life message to people around the world and giving them the tools to fight back against the culture of death.

The pro-abortion side knows we’re effective in promoting stories about the brave decisions parents are making every day to reject abortion, even in dire circumstances. The other side sees how we’re pushing back against their false arguments. And they know we’re helping pro-life groups pass pro-life bills to stop abortions!

Life News was talking about a number of other reported incidents where pro-life officers received what has been termed the pro-choice glitter bomb:

Earlier this month, the Daily Caller reported this incident at Rep. Jeff Fortenberry’s office:

glitter bomb for choice

A glitter bomb exploded all over the office of Republican Rep. Jeff Fortenberry’s Nebraska office Wednesday in a strikingly immature effort by abortion activists to protest his pro-life stance.

Congrats, you’ve earned this for trying to deny women their right to choice,” a note attached to the glitter bomb read. “Mind your own uterus.”

Fortenberry’s spokeswoman Jennifer Allen told the Omaha World-Herald that unusual mail to congressional offices is taken seriously because of the potential for actual threats.

Fortenberry’s office said the glitter bomb was reported to police, the U.S. postal inspector and the FBI, Allen said.

Last Month, Students for Life was the recipient of a glitter bomb to which they replied, “For all the great pro-life work we are doing, abortion advocates sent us glitterbombs. We could not be more excited! Always a great thing to be recognized for protecting life and even better when it includes glitter!

Pro-life Action League has also reported receiving these messages, posting two images on Facebook, “Another delivery at our office today from “Glitter Bombs for Choice.” This time around, they used LifeNews.com’s mailing address as the return address.”

March 13th, Iowa Right to Life posted this, “Today’s mail brought TWO MORE Glitter-Bombs!! (Four this week!) Those “Glitter-Bombers for Choice” LOVE us obviously. One was mailed out of Nebraska and another one from Oregon. These “gifts” also included tiny metal coat hangers and sweet “love notes.”

Woot! And so we carry on for the lives of the born and unborn!”

An interesting piece published by Priceonomics spells out the history of the so-called tactic using examples all geared toward perceived Conservative individuals or groups. , writing of a glitter-bomb attack on Newt Gingrich in 2011, “25-year-old equal rights activist Nick Espinosa christened “glitter bombing,” a form of protest (political or otherwise) in which public figures are doused in a shimmering shower of copolymer plastics.”

They continued:

Nick Espinosa, the activist who’d started the trend by peppering Gingrich, became the revolution’s unofficial spokesman; in a Huff Post editorial, he clarified its intentions:

I am not willing to sit back and watch the right wing systematically dehumanize and strip group after group of their rights….We are standing up against those who have dehumanized, divided and conquered. We are finding creative and fun ways to expose hatred and bigotry.

The strength of glitter is that humor is an incredibly powerful tool for communicating a message — even a deadly serious one. We use humor to give hope to ourselves and each other, while contrasting our approach with the hateful and cruel attacks on our communities.

As long as politicians continue [this trend], they can expect the sparkly showers to continue.”

A 2011 rundown of the glitter-bomb incidents outlined by the AP at that time included:

On May 17, Gingrich and his wife, Callista, were showered with glitter at a book signing in Minneapolis. The perpetrator was Nick Espinosa, an activist and occasional political prankster who yelled at the former House speaker, “Stop the hate. Stop the anti-gay politics.”
On June 16, two activists from the left-wing group CodePink dumped glitter on Pawlenty while he was signing books at a health insurance conference in San Francisco. Before being led away, the activists berated the former Minnesota governor for his conservative views on gay rights and abortion.
On June 18, an activist flung glitter toward Bachmann just after the Minnesota congresswoman finished a speech at a conservative conference in Minneapolis. The activist, Rachel Lang, said afterward that she was protesting Bachmann’s “hateful and anti-gay rhetoric.”

Espinosa has not been implicated in the recent glitter attacks, however, he once told Edge Boston this about his targeting of so-called anti-gay Conservatives , “It’s almost laughable that people like Glenn Beck and Mike Huckabee claim that glitter is assault,” Espinosa mused. “I would laugh if they weren’t assaulting people’s humanity on a daily basis, and if their constant inflammatory rhetoric didn’t produce real violence in the form of the attacks we’ve seen from abortion clinics in the U.S. to summer camps in Norway.

“The fact that they get so upset over something as fabulous as glitter just goes to show that their hateful views are heading towards extinction as a new generation shows its power — we are winning.”

Espinosa told Feministting, “I think that as a man, I need to speak out against patriarchy, and hold my community accountable. As a person who constantly benefits from a society in which my gender is privileged, I see it as my responsibility to act as an ally to women, as part of a lifelong movement toward our collective liberation. I don’t think that women should have to be the ones bringing feminist issues up. They’re not just women’s issues, but basic issues of equality and justice, and as long as we live in a world where women are oppressed, none of us are free. I would also like to see the feminist movement grow out of what has sometimes been a largely white and middle class movement into one that’s more inclusive of women of color and women from the developing world. I think it’s crucial that we see the intersectionality of our oppressions, and build movements that reflect that and build power for all of us.”

Eugenics founded Planned Parenthood forgoes grant to avoid paying prevailing wage – where is #Occupy Wall Street to protest?

According to this Register article: Planned Parenthood forgoes block grant Organizers, however, say the decision isn’t related to complaints of using public funds for the project
By Saul Hubbard The Register-GuardPublished: (Thursday, Oct 27, 2011 05:01AM) Today

Planned Parenthood Southwestern Oregon on Wednesday said it has declined to accept a $73,893 federal Community Development Block Grant allocated to the non-profit agency by the city of Springfield back in April to help with the construction of the agency’s $8.5 million health center in Glenwood.

Planned Parenthood’s decision has nothing to do with some recent vocal opposition to the grant, spokeswoman Sarah Moseley said.

Rather, accepting the grant money would have required Planned Parenthood to pay prevailing wages to all construction workers under the federal Davis–Bacon Act

Planned Parenthood said leaders have decided to forgo the grant funding and acknowledged that paying prevailing wage would have made the project more expensive for Planned Parenthood, “but we don’t know exactly what the (cost increase) would have been.”

The Davis–Bacon Act of 1931 requires prevailing wages be paid on all federal government construction contracts, and most contracts for federally assisted construction over $2,000.
The law requires paying on-site workers no less than the locally prevailing wages and benefits paid on similar projects, and having documentation to that effect.
The CDBG grant had been earmarked to pay for a bioswale stormwater treatment system.

According to this August 9,2011 article in the Portland Mercury: Local Planned Parenthood Clinics May Unionize

Employees of the 10 Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) clinics in Oregon and Southwest Washington are seriously considering joining a union. But the union and the bosses each accuse the other side of being anti-choice when it comes to letting workers decide their future. An election this Wednesday, August 10th, will determine whether 160 of the nonprofit’s reproductive healthcare workers join ranks with the local Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Oregon has the highest per capita use of Planned Parenthood in the nation, and if Planned Parenthood forms a union costs to the “poor” women they “serve” will dramatically increase! notice how these Planned Parenthood’s are located in minority neighborhoods ( Martin Luther King BLVD ) – some people claim this is done to target the black population for abortion ( Maafa21) .

According to the paper, the drive for the union revolves around having more of a voice in the planning and administration of PPCW, as well as “gaining a livable wage for all staff” and maintaining health benefits.

“There have not been specific complaints,” says SEIU Local 49 President Meg Niemi. “People want more of a say over how the organization works and is run on a local level.”
But SEIU alleges that Planned Parenthood’s management is trying to squelch the local union before the election.

A union rep told KBOO radio that management had been holding “captive meetings” and sending out intimidating emails. Niemi also says that Planned Parenthood has been “restricting workers’ speech and rights” by asking workers to not discuss the union during work.

PPCW President David Greenberg says the management has not held any meetings specifically about the union drive and that, on the contrary, some employees have felt intimidated by receiving frequent phone calls from the union at their homes.

“Planned Parenthood has always stood for choice,” says Greenberg. “Our employees, like our patients, should be fully informed to make decision about their future.”
A review of the emails show Greenberg trying to stay within the law despite being against the union’s formation.

In multiple emails, Greenberg told employees to weigh the arguments and make up their own minds. But in an email dated July 19th, he writes that the union may be promising more than it can deliver and says, “I hope you will not vote to have SEIU represent you.”

Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Web site shows that it performed 332,278 abortions in 2009, up 8,270 from 2008. Why should the taxpayer be forced to fund abortion?

So..just how is Planned Parenthood spending YOUR money besides paying their staff Larger than Life Salaries????

They are building MEGA Centers around the country which are muti-million dollars abortion clinics:

Some argue that Planned Parenthood is a “good” organization despite the fact that they were founded by a RACIST KLAN speaker who was so connected with the Eugenics Movement that many of her Planned Parenthood board members were Eugenics members as well. Eugenics is the movement that forcefully sterilized thousands of Blacks in the US and Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger agreed with that ideology. OWS organizer Malcolm Harris: A movement of anarchists

Posted in Glenn Beck, Occupy Wall Street with tags , , , , , , on October 26, 2011 by saynsumthn

This was posted at Libcom.org…claims to be written by Occupy Wall Street organizer Malcolm Harris: ( PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AND NOTE THE VIOLENT RHETORIC) This idea that Occupy would turn violent was told to us by Glenn Beck and now an OWS protesters – Malcolm Harris agrees:

Full Video of that meeting here

Baby, We’re All Anarchists Now – Malcolm Harris

Malcolm Harris writes about some of the emerging conflicts between anti-authoritarians and self-appointed leaders of the #Occupy Movement.

I got a certain amount of shit for cosigning this Cimethinc. “Letter from Anarchists” to occupiers, but what really strikes me is that anarchists and occupiers have become two distinct–albeit overlapping–groups. It’s become even more apparent in the streets. When I was at Occupy DC over the weekend, a guy who I would guess circles his A’s complained about being pushed from the street into the police-protected march by another occupier. I’ve seen the same thing happen in New York, and I’m willing to bet it’s happened elsewhere. There have been rumors out of Chicago that some occupiers have printed out flyers with the names and pictures of “known anarchists,” and certain committee members at Wall Street have grumbled about rooting out autonomous actors. In this context, the Crimethinc. letter seems restrained:

“Don’t assume those who break the law or confront police are agents provocateurs. A lot of people have good reason to be angry. Not everyone is resigned to legalistic pacifism; some people still remember how to stand up for themselves. Police violence isn’t just meant to provoke us, it’s meant to hurt and scare us into inaction. In this context, self-defense is essential.

Assuming that those at the front of clashes with the authorities are somehow in league with the authorities is not only illogical—it delegitimizes the spirit it takes to challenge the status quo, and dismisses the courage of those who are prepared to do so. This allegation is typical of privileged people who have been taught to trust the authorities and fear everyone who disobeys them.”

What’s at’s most frightening, besides snitching among occupiers, is that these marshals and peacekeepers are acting in the name of the occupation. When they yell or push at people to get them to stay walking on the sidewalk like tourists, they invoke a structure bigger than themselves, one that has supposedly empowered them to do so. To trouble this representational claim, I want to go back to a beginning: the first planning meeting for the September 17 action that would become Occupy Wall Street.

To be honest, I got guilted into going by a friend, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered responding to a call from Adbusters and going into lower Manhattan for a meeting. The people who had prepared for the meeting were a coalition of non-profits, established activist coalitions, and a certain socialist organization. Despite calling it a “general assembly” supposedly modeled on the Spanish protests, they had a microphone stand and an agenda of speakers. Some of us were bored, and having sat though too many of these audience-less press conferences in the past decade, weren’t able to fake the necessary enthusiasm. A group of mostly strangers wandered to the entrance of the park a little ways away from the microphone and sat down. We traded names and started to chat about why we were there. After a few minutes, we were drawing the audience away from the microphone. One of the coalition organizers came and begged us to rejoin the group, and we grumbled and walked back over. But it quickly became apparent nothing was about to change, so we returned to our circle and began a facilitated meeting.

At first we had five, then 15, and then the microphone meeting had collapsed and the whole group had joined the circle. It shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s experienced with leftist activism that the group of discontents included a bunch of anarchists and anti-authoritarians who are used to a certain horizontal process of talking and decision-making in a group. It’s called consensus, it often involves twinkling fingers to signal agreement, and it’s useful for deciding things like “Which park should we occupy?” The basis for that first meeting, for the sequence of events, was a walking away from organizers. By now consensus and the oft-mocked twinkling fingers have become part of a common language on the left, but now some people without a background in the process are using it as a means of control.

Autonomous action has been the engine of Occupy Wall Street, providing what Hendrick Hertzberg describes as two of the three “shots of adrenaline” — the third coming from a deranged senior police officer. Instead of providing a basis for discourse and autonomous action, the General Assembly has become a tool of imposed accountability, treating consensus as if it were a way to implement policy upon a population. In addition to the police, occupiers now have to worry about getting harassed or undermined by self-appointed guardians of the non-violent movement. Try chanting something that deviates from the friendly universalist “99%” line and see what happens.

Listen: I think your permitted sidewalk march is cowardly, boring, and harms the sequence’s revolutionary potential, but you don’t see me shoving anyone into the street.

Now don’t fucking touch me or any of my friends, the cops can manage that all by themselves.

Representative politics asks people to act through their name, whether as a vote (for a politician, a union rep, etc.) or as a protesting signature. Non-representative politics, (under which I group anarchists, autonomists, anti-authoritarians, anti-political negationists, various insurrectionary communists, and ultra-leftists of a few stripes) is premised on the necessity of acting with your body itself, whether through your legs, arms, vocal chords, fingers, whatever. The latter is threatening as hell, especially to the professional left which is thrust into the conservative position of defending its requisitioned authority. Witness the giant anarchist-shaped aporia in Jodi Dean’s call for professional revolutionaries to protect the occupation from Democrats and Ron-Pauliens.

These managers are making a classic mistake, which is informed by the way the left has come to think about leaders. People who feel comfortable taking on managerial roles tend to think the folks they’re managing are more afraid and less militant than they are themselves. It’s always the masses that aren’t ready. As Dean writes: communists at Wall Street should “not push too quickly for something for which the proper support has not yet been built.” The potential action here isn’t doing, it’s “pushing” others. Maybe people will never be ready to get pushed around in the name of not getting pushed around anymore.

The standard argument at this point is that non-representative politics sounds nice, but that it’s tactically or strategically unfeasible. Unfortunately, that’s not really a defensible argument since the left has finally broken into the national consciousness by adopting the tactics, strategy, and slogans of a group of left-communist insurrectionaries at the Universities of California. So the new explanation, as offered by Todd Gitlin (seriously, who in the hell rang his bell on this one?) is that we did it on accident: ”Having set out to be expressive, the anarchists have found themselves playing, willy-nilly, a most strategic role.” He’s confusing the people who have adopted an anarchist process (which is everyone involved) and the folks who have been building this analysis for a while.

Not to go all Glenn Beck on you, but The Coming Insurrection and a bunch of other similar texts did get passed around the autonomist left in America in the last three or four years. We’re not talking about “expressive” drum-circle denizens here, these are people who have built and are acting according to a revolutionary analysis. But it’s not just theory nerds and self-identified anarchists who ignored the frantically waving marshals and got arrested; Take the bridge! is an accessible message and it was produced by the opportunity. We certainly didn’t need a French pamphlet to figure that one out.

And what is it exactly people want to do with their unrepresentable limbs? The capitalists aren’t so sure it’s the non-violent shuffle:

“An online ‘Occupy Threat Center’ created by ListenLogic says the company’s analysis of ‘over one million social media posts’ indicates a significant increases in all of the following:

-Social media activity from Occupy supporters and activists promoting physical destruction and violent action.

-Direct and specific threats from Occupy ‘hacktivist’ groups against specific financial and law enforcement targets.

-Social media posts, videos and images targeting: financial institutions that issue mortgages and student loans and that initiate foreclosures; corporate entities that received bailout money or government subsidies; companies that pay high executive salaries or bonuses; and companies perceived to be paying extremely low taxes.

ListenLogic is detecting, he says, a change in the tone of discourse about the so-called 1 percent richest Americans.

There still are postings that talk about taxing the 1 percent more severely or even throwing them in jail. ‘But then,’ says Schiavone, ‘there’s an increase in ‘let’s kill’ them. We see ‘eat the rich,’ ‘kill the wealthy.’ There are images circulating of senior executives being decapitated, images of blood. Artists are releasing images of banks on fire.’”

The managers keep people in check, but we’ve achieved real gains when the occupation broadly considered shakes off its representatives and sets to our task with our own hands. We’re already seeing the power that comes with a more horizontal process, don’t let leaders fuck that up by assuming representative roles.

And stop pushing back onto the sidewalk.

In an interview with the Willamette Week – Planned Parenthood’s President ( largest abortion clinic funded by billions of tax dollars), Cecile Richards, was asked about her 400K salary and she claimed it was a non-issue:

QUESTION: In the efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, a lot was made of your salary—close to $400,000 per year. Planned Parenthood declined to comment on it. Why?

Cecile Richards Answer: “It’s public record. It always has been. I work hard for my salary, and I think that’s a red herring. Planned Parenthood is the most cost-effective provider of family planning services in this country. The far right has done everything they can to undermine us and to create non-issues, which I think that is.”

These figures do not account for each Planned Parenthood director – there are over 800 locations, making six digits in many cases as welll….

Planned Parenthood also PROFITED $64 million dollars in that same year ! Why do they need you and I to fund them?

But, Planned Parenthood’s profits are politicians gains. Just look at this analysis from Open Secrets which monitors 501C3 organizations and how they distribute and collect their funding:

The organization’s political action committee, for example, donated more than $148,000 to federal candidates — almost all Democrats –– during the 2010 election cycle. The PAC spent more than $443,000 overall.

Planned Parenthood also recorded $905,796 in independent expenditures during the 2010 cycle — money spent in support of, or in opposition to, federal political candidates, largely through advertisements. The top beneficiaries of this money were Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.).

In 2010 alone, Planned Parenthood and a California affiliate together spent more than $700,000 on federal lobbying efforts, a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of federal lobbying records finds. By comparison, all other organizations that primarily advocate for abortion rights collectively spent $247,280 on federal lobbying efforts during the same period.

So, not only does taxpayer money make Planned Parenthood officials RICH FAT CATS, they also expand the coffers of the politicians who support them- see how the cycle works?
Planned Parenthood also PROFITED $64 million dollars in that same year ! Why do they need you and I to fund them?
