Advocate for education on Human Trafficking blasts Planned Parenthood says they have no idea of the hell on earth that the victims of sex-trafficking endure

After viewing the recent undercover videos released by the Journalist group: Live Action, exposing how Planned Parenthood covers for pimps who traffic in underage girls, an advocate for education on Human Trafficking had this scathing statement.

Dottie Laster has spent nearly a decade fighting daily in efforts to educate citizens and governmental agencies, has a Radio Show, “TRAFFICKED,” which is devoted to issues surrounding the victims of sex-trafficking, and tirelessly works with the victims to be able to restore their lives once the cycle of abuse has been stopped.

Here is the statement she gave on the Planned Parenthood scandal:

“No matter what your opinions on abortion are, in the United States we have strict laws, regulations, procedures and ethics that protect children from being sold in commercial sex. As a scholar of sociology, I have observed that it is not uncommon for organizations which are established to protect freedoms and rights grow, expand and develop into groups that fail to protect the individuals they were formed to serve. Daily, I see instances of law-enforcement, non- profit organizations, legal systems and others fail victims of human-trafficking. Precious windows of opportunity for escape lost or perhaps even worse, the organizations assist the traffickers whether knowingly or not.

After viewing the Planned Parenthood video my first thoughts were of the victims I have served over the last 8 years. Specifically the women and girls — their horrendous statements of rape, gang rapes, torture, branding, starvation, extortions, assault and their reports of repeated forced abortions and miscarriages due to the trauma they received. I have often wondered where these multiple abortions took place and how medical professionals had not seen the extensive trauma to their bodies, spirits and souls.

In this film the apathy for the victims from the Planned Parenthood manager is not uncommon. Her willingness to be helpful to the pimp about how to work the system and receive services to provide birth control, STD testing, and abortions to children in commercial sex was unfortunately was robotic in the face of atrocity. I hope she truly had no idea of the hell on earth that the victims of sex-trafficking endure and how her instructions to keep the children quiet, send them with a biased interpreter and to
avoid contact with the unpopular clinician who would be strict about sexually active youth. I trust she did not know how these instructions would affect the victims’ lives, human rights/civil liberties, and limit their futures. In addition I must hold hope she was not thinking of the families that loved the immigrant children she spoke of who would be devastated to learn what was being planned for their children in the United States.

We have societal myths surrounding the combination of sex and money which blind and fog the minds of people who could have helped the victims and prosecuted the traffickers. A recent example is Lawrence Taylor ‘s deal of no jail time after pleading guilty to two misdemeanors due to buying sex with a minor who he admittedly paid a pimp for sex acts with even though she had a black eye and had clearly been recently beaten and was only 16. There was also a case in Texas, where a 13 year old who was arrested for prostitution and the county prosecutor prosecuted her all the way to the Texas Supreme Court- Her 32 year old “boyfriend’ was never questioned. She had received two abortions before the age of 13 while under his supervision and she was mentally deficient, yet she endured only punishment from our justice system. One of my clients, was arrested at 16, for being in the US illegally due to the trafficking, after undergoing eight to nine abortions and one birth which resulted in death of the infant two days later; a child victim alleged her experience at a hospital where she went to ask for help due to the pain and trauma associated with being prostituted – she asked the doctor wrote a note to her pimp saying she should not have sex for a week and was sent back to him- just as the woman in the film suggested the pimp told her to make money above the waist.

I so wish people would not be seduced and their perspective fogged when they see adults putting children in commercial sex. All children in commercial sex are victims of trafficking according to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act and anyone who attempted or intended to participate/facilitate human trafficking activities could face prosecution under the TVPA-whether they completed the crime or not.

I hope that this organization and the individuals who assisted this pseudo- pimp will use this opportunity to train their staff about the laws and protections surrounding children in forced labor, the criminal penalties for anyone who assists in prosecuting children such as prostituting a minor 14 or under which could result in a federal life sentence. They could learn that commercial sex is anything exchanged of value for stripping, pornography or prostitution and learn how to identify victims of trafficking both children and adults and the procedures to effectively assist them.

No matter what medical procedure a person requests their right to privacy must be maintained through HIPPA laws and should not be shared with any pimp or trafficker- and any immigrant minor in the United States who is not accompanied by a parent or guardian must be protected and custody established. I see many training opportunities brought to light due to this video for Planned Parenthood and any organization who serves marginalized populations. The TVPA also has a clause that states any government contractor whose employees or sub- contractors or their dependents engage in human trafficking activities may lose all government funding. So I urge all organizations to address their policies and procedures immediately. The first effective action that any group can do is to recognize that ANY MINOR IN COMMERCIAL SEX IS A VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING and that anyone putting a minor in stripping, pornography or prostitution is a trafficker- and should be treated as a criminal.

I hope in the future a film like this would demonstrate a staff displaying a fierce urgency to protect victims and children from forced labor and commercial sex.”

Planned Parenthood Wisconsin – Abortion Misinformation turns to Counselgate

Do women die from legal abortions? Hmmm- Let’s see:

Abortionist Rapin Osathanondh pled not guilty during his arraignment in a Massachusetts court room yesterday on manslaughter charges in the botched abortion death of 22 year-old Laura Hope Smith. He was released on his own recognizance only after surrendering his passport to insure that he would not flee the country while awaiting trial. Pro-lifers, including Operation Rescue, helped bring him to justice.

Despite Deaths, D.C. License Upheld
City Board Chose Less Severe Penalties After Md. Abortion Complications
By Cheryl W. Thompson
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, April 11, 2005; Page A09

Two years after OB-GYN Gideon M. Kioko was found by the Maryland medical board to have mishandled abortions in 1989, he surrendered his license, which allowed him to avoid punishment. In one case, the patient died three days after the abortion; in the second, the woman suffered brain damage and died three years later. He petitioned the board for reinstatement a year later but was turned down. Nearly six years passed before the board restored his license — with conditions.

In the District, however, where Kioko also was licensed, the city’s medical board did not take the same hard line. It allowed him to continue practicing after the Maryland incidents.

When the board decided to act in 1996, it ignored an administrative law judge’s recommendation to revoke his license. Instead, it placed him on probation, fined him $5,000, ordered community service and banned him from performing abortions in the city for five years. Three months later, the board lifted the abortion ban after a request from Kioko.

“I think they did the right thing,” Kioko said in a recent interview. “They should have just left me alone.”

Kioko, 65, maintained at the time that he did nothing wrong and in neither case was responsible for the anesthesia that was blamed for the problems. “The old story about me was completely twisted,” he said in a recent interview.

In addition to the two deaths in Maryland, which prompted about a dozen people to write letters to city officials urging them to revoke his license, Kioko also had settled a $1 million malpractice lawsuit in 1995 filed by a female patient.

The D.C. medical board reinstated Kioko to unrestricted status in 1999 in an order signed by then-Chairman Robert T. Greenfield Jr., a physician who previously shared a practice with Kioko for 19 years, according to Kioko and board records.

Greenfield, who no longer has a medical practice with Kioko, said he recused himself from board deliberations. But because he was chairman, he said in an interview, “I had to sign it. He came before the board, we looked at his record and . . . deemed him fit to practice.”

Kioko said his working relationship with Greenfield did not play a role in his reinstatement.

“Did he give me a break? No,” Kioko said. “Should the vice chairman have signed it? Probably.”

In August, the medical board received a new complaint about Kioko from Northeast Washington resident Thakerya Drayton, 21, who was referred to Kioko’s clinic when she sought an abortion in 2001.

“I didn’t know anything about him,” she said in an interview.

After the procedure, she said, Kioko sent her to the recovery room for about an hour. “I knew something wasn’t right because of the pain,” she recalled.

When she got home, she was “bleeding out of control,” she said. After a few days, she told her mother, who called an ambulance that took her to Howard University Hospital.

Hospital records state that Drayton suffered an “incomplete abortion.”

Kioko said an incomplete abortion is considered a surgical complication and shouldn’t warrant a complaint to the medical board.

“I know the medical board will respond if they think there’s a serious deviation in standard of care,” he said.

The medical board sent Kioko a letter in September with a copy of Drayton’s complaint and added that he was not obligated to respond. He said he remembers her handwritten complaint.

“Her letter was so poorly written, I couldn’t understand what she was complaining about,” he said.

Kioko said he responded to Drayton’s complaint in December but heard nothing from the board until he contacted it March 17 after being questioned by The Washington Post about the complaint.

James R. Granger Jr., the board’s executive director, told him that the case was closed, Kioko said.

Drayton said that six days later, she received a letter from Granger stating that the case was closed with no action to be taken against Kioko. The board found no evidence of a violation of city law “that would warrant disciplinary action,” Granger said in an interview. It was the first time Drayton had heard from the board since filing the complaint six months ago.

“I thought we would have a meeting with the board and Dr. Kioko,” she said. But the board, she added, was “no help.”

This is a clear violation of the law !!!!

YouTube censors another pro-life video

Posted in Abortion, Planned Parenthood, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 24, 2009 by saynsumthn

The Citizens for a Pro-Life Society (CPLS) say that their video depicting the Catholic funeral and burial ceremonies of abortion victims has been censored by the video-sharing site YouTube – which now has an established reputation for removing pro-life videos and issuing “warning strikes” against their owners’ accounts.

CPLS reports that YouTube pulled the original five-minute film “Requiem for the Disappeared” on August 29. The film shows the remains of 23 unborn children whose bodies were buried after being salvaged last year from trash dumpsters behind abortionist Alberto Hodari’s Womancare abortion clinic in Lathrup Village, MI., and abortionist Reginald Sharpe’s Women’s Advisory abortion clinic in Livonia, MI. The video is accompanied by the song “Tell Me Who I Am,” which was crafted for the video and produced by Mediatrix Records.

“Requiem for the Disappeared” is the third CPLS video removed by YouTube, who also issued a warning strike against the group’s account. YouTube indicated that the video was removed for violating the site’s prohibition against images “intended to be shocking, sensational or disrespectful.

According to the site’s guidelines: “if a video is particularly graphic or disturbing, it should be balanced with additional educational or documentary context and information.”

CPLS argues that the images of the children’s’ remains were given appropriate and respectful context, and were not intended to shock, saying the video was “obviously crafted to teach, to provoke thought, to provide a moral lesson.”

The group said it was considering legal action against YouTube.

I feel strongly that we must call You Tube to responsibility,” said CPLS director Monica Migliorino Miller. “It’s obvious that pro-lifers are consistently discriminated against on this website.”

In August, YouTube removed a video (available here) published by Operation Rescue showing the abusive behavior of a man working for Nebraska abortionist LeRoy Carhart against a pro-lifer. YouTube indicated that the video inappropriately used the site as a “venue for things like predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people’s personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts.”

I completely resent the outrageous and false notion that the video was in anyway abusive on our part,” said Operation Rescue’s Cheryl Sullenger. “The threats and intimidation shown in this video were made by the Carhart employee against the pro-life photographer, Larry Donlan. I posted the video with his permission so that the world could see the truth about the abuse and threats that pro-lifers are forced to endure.

Earlier that month, Live Action Films launched a petition against YouTube’s attack against pro-life videos. Live Action has had several of its videos exposing controversial and illegal practices by Planned Parenthood pulled from the site.

Youtube claims to be free of ideological censorship,” said Live Action Films president Lila Rose. “But they are clearly censoring an opinion they dislike, an opinion that goes against Planned Parenthood – which, as many are open about, has a good deal of influence in a lot of mainstream media, and now sadly in the new media, in YouTube.”

The Washington Post has reported :

WASHINGTON POST: Rulers of the Internet

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

What is net neutrality?

Net neutrality is a concept that all services and content on the Internet should be treated equally. Proposed new rules would seek to prevent Internet service providers from acting as gatekeepers.

Examples of how Internet service providers and wireless phone providers have allegedly acted as gatekeepers of services:

— Comcast allegedly blocked a video-and-music sharing site called BitTorrent.

— Verizon Wireless allegedly rejected a text messaging program from NARAL Pro-Choice America, an abortion-rights group. The program would have allowed people to sign up for text messages from NARAL.

— The FCC is examining whether AT&T and Apple deliberately blocked Google’s voice application for the iPhone. Google Voice gives users one phone number that they can connect to their home, office and mobile phones.

— Skype has complained that many wireless service providers have rejected its Internet voice service. For example, iPhone users can’t connect to the 3G network and use Skype; they must also be linked to the Web through a WiFi connection.

NEWSFLASH – Washington Post:

YouTube has been censoring pro-life videos for a while and I do not see them in your list above.

To name one instance – YouTube censored the Undercover Videos of Lila Rose and yes, James O’Keefe ( ACORN Film maker) who proved that the Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider, Planed Parenthood, who sucks over $1 Millions Dollars PER DAY and $350 Millions Dollars PER YEAR from the taxpayer, is covering for statutory rape and possible sexual abuse of minors.

According to Lila’s Live Action Films, “YouTube has unfairly censored two Live Action videos in what appears to be an act of discrimination against our viewpoint. We have carefully laid out the case below why each video that was removed was wrongly banned. We hope you read this and join us in action against this bias.”

Live Action Petition to YouTube:

Dear YouTube:

We are concerned that YouTube staff is censoring videos based on ideology, despite YouTube’s claim to uphold fair standards.

The following links provide the background and case why YouTube should restore our videos:

The Case Against YouTube’s Removal of Live Action’s “Alabama Investigative Video
http://liveaction.org/index.php/projects/youtube/83

The Case Against YouTube’s Removal of Live Action’s “Planned Parenthood Counseling Lie
http://liveaction.org/index.php/projects/youtube/84

We ask that YouTube will restore their customer’s trust and live up to its own rules by doing the following:

1. Promptly reinstate both banned videos

2. Remove the “strike” against the account “liveactionfilms”

3. Assure Live Action and the YouTube’s community that YouTube is
truly opposed to ideological censorship and is taking steps to prevent this from happening again.

4. Provide Live Action with an email and phone contact representative at YouTube to ensure that any potential future issues are resolved promptly

Sincerely,
-The Undersigned

In one of the Video’s, Live Action gave this timeline:

HISTORY
June 30th, 2009: Live Action uploads the “Alabama Investigative Video
July 8th, 2009: YouTube notifies Live Action via email that they are going to remove our video within 48 hours if we do not remove it.
July 9th, 2009: Live Action replies to the YouTube email saying that “...we are requesting for you to let us know exactly where in our video we violate the privacy of an individual.” (see full email)
July 10th, 2009: YouTube removes the “Alabama Investigative Video”
July 22nd, 2009: YouTube still has not responded to Live Action over this matter.

YOUTUBE’S STANDARD

YouTube does not permit video that shows the identifiable face or full name of an individual per their policy listed below. We have uploaded many investigative videos (that are still live) where we have obscured the face and disclosed only the clinic workers last name. In all of these cases, YouTube has allowed these videos to remain live.

WHY THE VIDEO MEETS YOUTUBE’S STANDARD

We did not disclose audio or video that “uniquly identifies” the person in the video. We did not show any identifiable images, in fact, our video showed no images of any persons that did not give consent to be in the video. The audio in the video does not by voice or content of the voice, uniquly identifiy the person involved. Finally, no full names were disclosed, only first names as was consistent with our pervious (and still live) videos which have received hundreds of thousands of views without removal.

BE PART OF THE SOLUTION!
