Roe v. Wade violates science, which confirms preborn children are human beings

Some people, especially those in the pro-choice camp, believe that “personhood” and “being a member of the human species” are two different things. But are they? By creating this artificial divide, society can deem certain members of the human family “persons” while denying that title to others of that same family. During arguments in the Roe v. Wade case before the full U.S. Supreme Court in 1972, Texas Attorney General Robert C. Flowers argued for the state against abortion legalization. Flowers was asked by Justice Thurgood Marshall, “Is there any medical testimony of any kind that says that a fetus is a person at the time of inception?”

In response, Flowers submitted dissenting arguments made by Senior Judge Campbell in a 1971 Illinois abortion case, Doe v.s Scott, which Flowers said was “very similar to the case we have before us.”

In that case, Justice Campbell spoke against amending or repealing Illinois’ existing abortion statute. He wrote, “We, as did the Illinois Legislature, have before us the following undisputed facts relating to fetal life.” Campbell eloquently presented facts about the development of the preborn child, quoted in part below (emphasis added):

Seven weeks after conception the fertilized egg develops into a well proportioned small scale baby. It bears all of the familiar external features and all the internal organs of an adult human being. It has muscles; hands with fingers and thumbs; and the legs have recognizable knees, ankles and toes.

The brain is operative…. Brain waves have been noted at 43 days. The heart beats; the stomach produces digestive juices; the liver manufactures blood cells; and the kidneys begin to function by extracting uric acid from the blood.

In the third month it can kick its legs, turn its feet, curl and fan its toes, make a fist, move its thumb, bend its wrist, turn its head, and even open its mouth and swallow and drink the amniotic fluid that surrounds it. Thumb sucking has been noted at this age… with inhaling and exhaling respiratory movements.

In the twelfth week it can move its thumb, in opposition to its fingers. It swallows regularly. It has active reflexes. The facial expressions of a fetus in its third month are already similar to the facial expression of its parents….

In the third month finger nails appear; sexual differentiation is apparent in both internal and external organs….

From the twelfth to the sixteenth week the child grows to eight or ten inches in height and receives oxygen and food from its mother through the placental attachment. In the fifth month it gains two inches in height and ten ounces in weight…. It sleeps and wakes and may be awakened by external vibrations.

In the sixth month the fetus develops a strong muscular grip with its hands; starts to breathe regularly and can maintain a respiratory response for twenty-four hours if born prematurely…. A child has been known to survive between twenty to twenty-five weeks old

“Indeed, as medical science progresses in the field of detection, the date of potential viability moves continually closer to earlier stages of gestation,” Justice Campbell wrote.

He also quoted from Dr. Arnold Gesell, who wrote in his book, “The Embryology of Behavior”:

Our own repeated observation of a large group of fetal infants (an individual born and living at any time prior to forty weeks gestation) left us with no doubt that psychologically they were individuals. Just as no two looked alike, so no two behaved precisely alike. One was impassive when another was alert. Even among the youngest there were discernible differences in vividness, reactivity and responsiveness. These were genuine individual differences, already prophetic of the diversity which distinguishes the human family.

Today, a corporation is considered a “person” and yet the Supreme Court in Roe wrongly determined that a preborn child was not. This irony is reminiscent of the infamous Dred Scott case which ruled a Black man was not a full person.

READ: Harvard Law Journal concludes: The preborn child is a constitutional person

The Fourteenth Amendment, known for giving citizenship and equal rights under the law to former slaves and African Americans, should also apply to the preborn, as Live Action News contributor Kristi Burton Brown previously documented.

Fordham law professor Robert M. Byrn addressed this just prior to the Roe case, in an article published in 1970 in the Notre Dame Review:

From its original intent to safeguard Negroes against discrimination by Whites, the fourteenth amendment has evolved into a broad guarantee of equality both to artificial persons and to all natural persons irrespective of citizenship, sex or race. In an era of increased sensitivity to human rights, it would be the ultimate in irony if the corporation which manufactures the instruments used to abort the unborn human child was entitled, as an artificial person, to equal protection of the law, while the unborn child, who is in all respects qualitatively human, is deprived of that protection.

There is no doubt that the child in the womb is a human person deserving of constitutional protection.

“We Don’t Report” Illinois abortion clinics continue sexual abuse cover-up

Posted in Abortion and Sexual Assault, Abortion Clinic Worders, Abortion Clinics, child abuse, child predator with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 28, 2014 by saynsumthn

I stumbled onto an older story from Jill Stanek’s blog.

The blog post was uploaded a few years ago and covered the incidents of not reporting sexual abuse by the abortion industry, specifically in Illinois.

Stanek Illinois Blog Screen

Stanek begins her Blog this way:

Many pro-lifers don’t know that before Lila Rose came Mark Crutcher.

In 2002 Crutcher’s organization, Life Dynamics, conducted a comprehensive sting of every Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Federation clinic in the U.S.

Placing phone calls from Texas, where it is legal for one party to tape conversations without another’s knowledge, an actress portraying a 13-yr-old who had been impregnated by her 22-yr-old “boyfriend” told clinics she needed an abortion to keep her parents from finding out they were sexually involved.

In all, the actress spoke with staff at 813 PP or NAF clinics in all 50 states. Adult sex with underage children is illegal in every state, and PP and NAF clinics are mandated reporters. Yet an appalling 91% of all clinics contacted expressed a willingness to help cover up the statutory rape.

In IL that figure was 100%. All 21 clinics contacted, 12 of which were PPs, offered to aid and abet the adult perpetrator by helping cover up his rape of a child.

Stanek’s blog alerted me to this YouTube video (below) of call excerpts from the 12 Planned Parenthood facilities which Life Dynamics’ caller contacted. The video was put together by Andy Moore from clips of the Life Dynamics tapes and reveals just how mainstream the failure to report child sexual abuse is within Planned Parenthood centers in Illinois.

Listen here:

What is of additional interest is that Life Dynamics has just updated their Child Predator project with a new report of documented criminal cases entitled: The Cover-Up of Child Sexual Abuse. The report was written by Mark Crutcher and Renee Hobbs and researched by Carole Novielli.

Unfortunately since 2002, we have come to learn that this cover-up of sexual pedophiles by the abortion industry continues.

In fact, just looking at Illinois, Life Dynamics details the following cases:

Bishop, Robbie L. / IL

In 1997, Bishop, 35, began having sex with “Cara” – his 12-year-old stepdaughter. At 14, Cara became pregnant and Bishop took her to a Chicago abortion clinic where he ordered her to sign-in using a fictitious name. It is evident that no report was filed by the clinic since the assaults on Cara resumed two weeks after the abortion and continued until December when she went to the police. It was later discovered that, not only did the abortion clinic staff fail to report the situation, they also supplied the victim with birth control pills. In 2005, an Illinois court gave Bishop 30 years in prison for criminal sexual assault. [The Supreme Court of Illinois, docket #99403, 1-20-2006 ]

Now un-named abortion clinics would be difficult to have tapes on- but as Jill points out- of the 21 tapes that Life Dynamics recorded in Illinois which included 4 in Chicago, 100% of them stated they would cover for the abuser and not tell anyone.

Then we come to one that Life Dynamics did expose in 2002 and who, unfortunately, went on to cover for a sexual pedophile in 2006.

Cheshier, Jeffery / AR

In November of 2006, Cheshier, 41, was arrested and charged with repeatedly raping “Allie” starting when she was 13 years old. Investigators also discovered that, in March of that year, Cheshier had taken her to the Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City, Illinois, where he forced her to have an abortion. Given that Cheshier resumed raping Allie after the abortion, and continued to do so for another eight months, it is evident the clinic staff did not file a report. Following his arrest, he was released on $50,000 bail and was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hope abortion Illinois

In 2002, Life Dynamics caught this same abortion clinic telling their caller that they would NOT have to report her sexual relationship with an adult man – here is a portion of that call:

CALLER: Okay. The thing is that I’m really worried because I’m going to be 14 later on this month, and my friend told me that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to take care of everything, and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?
CLINIC: No. We’re not going to tell anybody. There’s no parental consent in the state of Illinois and there’s no age.

CLINIC: Well, when you schedule your appointment, hon, we’re going to ask you for your address and your phone number and your Social Security number and stuff like that, but it’s strictly confidential. It doesn’t ever leave this office.
CALLER: So there’s nothing that he has to fill out?
CLINIC: There’s nothing that he has to fill out at all. But you do need to have your payment for a money order, Master Card or Visa.
CALLER: Oh, okay.

Listen to the complete call here !

Perhaps if this abortion clinic had been held to account after Life Dynamics’ 2002 report, they would not have allowed the sexual abuse of another child to remain silent.

Life Dynamics has just documented the hiding of sexual abuse inside abortion and Planned Parenthood centers is a nationwide problem. Their Child Predator report, part 2, is available for review here.

Planned Parenthood supporter appoints Med Chief whose office performs autopsy on black woman after abortion death

Posted in Abortion death, Abortionist, Planed Parenthood abortion death with tags , , , , , , , , on January 16, 2013 by saynsumthn

A 24 year-old black women is left to bleed to death on the table of Planned Parenthood after an abortion. That was in July of 2012. What is interesting is that the Cook County Medical Examiners Office, which declared the death an “accident” has a link to Planned Parenthood. Read on….

tonya-reaves-0722The Chicago Sun Times is reporting, The father of a young child whose mother died after a July 2012 abortion filed a wrongful death lawsuit Thursday against Planned Parenthood of Illinois and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Tonya Reaves, 24, died July 20, 2012, at Northwestern Hospital after she began hemorrhaging at a Planned Parenthood clinic at 18 S. Michigan Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Reaves’ mother filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood in August of 2012.

An autopsy found she died of a hemorrhage following a cervical dilation and evacuation performed during an intrauterine pregnancy, according to the medical examiner’s office. Her death was ruled an accident.

The lawsuit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, claims the clinic “improperly performed” the procedure and failed to properly care for her complications resulting in her death at the hospital.

It is the second wrongful death suit filed on behalf of Reaves’ estate. Reaves’ mother, Dorsey Johns, filed a suit in Cook County Circuit Court in August 2012.

TonyaReaves

Documents, including her autopsy report and other records show that Reaves received an incomplete Dilation and Evacuation abortion procedure at Planned Parenthood that was followed by uncontrolled bleeding. Planned Parenthood staff allowed Reaves to hemorrhage for 5½ hours before seeking emergency care. Records show that Planned Parenthood did not call 911 for an ambulance, which was the quickest way to get help for her.

The autopsy listed the manner of death as “Accident,” which would include an avoidable death from negligence and malpractice.

Operation Rescue has filed a complaint with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation seeking a full investigation and has been interviewed by a state investigator in relation to that complaint. OR has joined with other pro-life groups in calling on Cook County Illinois State’s Attorney, Anita Alvarez, to launch an investigation into the death of Tonya Reaves under the state’s “depraved indifference murder” statutes.

What is interesting is that Reaves’ death was ruled an accident by the same Medical Examiners Office whose chief was appointed by what appears to be an avid pro-abortion Planned Parenthood supporter. The family wants answers and only receives silence. A look into this issue further exposes some interesting facts.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle appointed the Chief Medical Examiner of the Cook County Medical Examiners Office, Daryl Jackson

In April of 2012 Preckwinkle was a special guest at a Planned Parenthood gala.

According to the Chicago Tribune: In June of 2012, After months of evaluating operations and making lower-level changes at the troubled county morgue, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle launched a major shake-up that included the departure of the two top officials at the medical examiner’s office.

Out was Medical Examiner Nancy Jones, who will retire at the end of July, and Kimberly Jackson, the top administrator in the office. In was Daryl Jackson, a longtime state Public Health Department supervisor that Preckwinkle chose as the new administrator. And a nationwide search was launched to replace Jones.

Medical Examiner Hid Info Showing Planned Parenthood Killed Patient

tonyareaves5autopsy

Operation Rescue, who requested a copy of the autopsy on Ms. Reaves, indicates that it was not provided the complete autopsy report — indicating six pages were omitted that place the blame squarely on Planned Parenthood’s shoulders. The copy the pro-life group received from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office was missing the six important pages that further detailed Reaves fatal abortion injuries and noted that Planned Parenthood was where her abortion took place.

The sanitized copy sent to Operation Rescue contained no mention of Planned Parenthood. The omission was discovered when attorneys for the Thomas More Society, a pro-life legal group that also had filed an open records request for the report, compared notes with Operation Rescue.

According to Operation Rescue President, Troy Newman, one missing page titled “First Call Sheet”, there appears to be redacted information on the first line under “Medical History” where the circumstances surrounding Reaves death are explained. After the redaction, there is the following notation: “1100. Planned Parenthood. Suction D&E. Post Op bleed.”

The missing pages note that Reaves was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital via a Chicago Fire Department ambulance at 4:30 p.m., five and a half hours after her botched second trimester abortion left her hemorrhaging. However, there is no record that an emergency 911 call was placed by Planned Parenthood.

Also included is an anatomical diagram indicating a large abdominal incision made during an emergency hysterectomy performed by a hospital surgeon in a vain effort to save Reaves’ life as well as marks on her chest consistent with the application of defibrillator paddles. The records show that despite these efforts, Reaves could not be resuscitated.

The Planned Parenthood abortion business, which waited five hours before sending a woman who died from a botched legal abortion to the hospital, never called 911.

Documents obtained via the Freedom of Information Act show that only one call to 911 was made on Friday, July 20 from the building located at 18 S. Michigan, which houses Planned Parenthood.

In addition to the death of Tonya Reaves, the Planned Parenthood of Illinois was caught with their hands in the tax payers cookie jar:

According to CRAINES, in September of 2012, Planned Parenthood of Illinois agreed to pay the state $367,000 to settle a dispute over alleged overbilling of the Medicaid program by the non-profit’s medical director.

Cranes reports: Dr. Caroline Hoke, an obstetrician-gynecologist and the organization’s medical director since 2007, had been under threat of termination from the state Medicaid program since 2010, when the inspector general of the Department of Healthcare and Family Services sought to recover allegedly improper payments.

Dr. Hoke was the fourth-highest billing physician in the state Medicaid program in 2009-11, receiving $3.9 million, despite not receiving any payment for much of 2010 and all of 2011, according to a Crain’s analysis of Medicaid reimbursement records.

The settlement comes about a week after the mother of a Planned Parenthood patient filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the organization, alleging that negligence during an abortion contributed to her daughter’s death.

In the Medicaid case, the agency alleged that Dr. Hoke overbilled the state an estimated $430,380.02, mostly for services that were not documented, according to records in a DHFS administrative proceeding against Dr. Hoke.

The inspector general contested Dr. Hoke’s billings between 2006 and 2007, when she worked at Planned Parenthood of Illinois locations and at Erie Family Health Center. The West Side clinic separately agreed to pay the state $20,000 to settle its portion of the dispute.

With the settlement, neither Planned Parenthood of Illinois nor Erie admits any wrongdoing or responsibility for the overbilling.

African American man whose wife died after abortion at Planned Parenthood calls the way the state of Illinois monitors abortion clinics “ridiculous”

State abortion records full of gaps
Thousands of procedures not reported to health department

Health care providers are failing to detail abortion complications to the state as required by law, one of many gaps in a surveillance system viewed as crucial to protecting patients, a Tribune review has found.

The state’s system for tracking abortions is so broken that regulators also may be missing more than 7,000 of the procedures per year.

The Illinois Department of Public Health must collect details about every abortion performed in the state, including whether the patient is injured or dies. The mandatory reporting is essential for tracking trends in public health and can provide a window into quality of care. While abortion has proven to be a very safe procedure, heightened rates of complications or clusters of deaths could signal problems with particular providers.

“If people are looking at reports and seeing excessive complications, that might warrant another look or another inspection,” said Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, an association of providers.

But there are significant holes in state monitoring of a procedure that affects tens of thousands of Illinois women each year. Nationally, current rates suggest that nearly 1 in 3 women will have an abortion, according to research published in the medical journal Obstetrics & Gynecology.

The Tribune found:
•State regulators have documented between 7,000 and 17,000 fewer abortions a year than a national research group found in Illinois.
•This reporting is the only tool Illinois authorities have to monitor some abortion providers, yet regulators may be allowing doctors and clinics to operate off the books. Regulators collect reports from 26 providers, but the abortion rights research group has identified 37 providers doing business in the state.
•Also unknown to officials are the types of abortion-related problems experienced by women. Nearly 4,000 reports of abortion complications involving Illinois residents in 2009 were missing the required description.
•Health care providers who intentionally fail to submit accurate and complete reports are committing a criminal act, and a failure to report abortion complications is grounds for revoking their licenses, but the Department of Public Health has never sought disciplinary action against a provider.

Kelly Jakubek, an agency spokeswoman, said in a written response that it was the responsibility of abortion doctors to ensure they comply with the mandatory reporting requirement.
Regulators don’t respond to the reports in any way, she said, because they view the information as serving statistical purposes only.

“It’s outrageous,” declared Maurice Stevenson, whose wife died in 2002 from infection following an abortion at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Chicago. “These procedures, complications and deaths should be public record.”

FOIA request gets 911 call from Planned Parenthood mega center released

From Pro-Life Action League:

On April 1, while praying and sidewalk counseling at Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois, League Executive Director Eric Scheidler and I witnessed and documented an ambulance taking a Planned Parenthood client away—an all too common sight at abortion facilities.

At the time we had very little information about the incident. Planned Parenthood always tries to cover up when things go wrong so finding out anything about the situation was very difficult.

But, through a Freedom of Information Act request we were able to uncover the recording of the 911 call and some other details. This short video shows what we saw of the incident along with the audio of the call showing once again that, no matter what Planned Parenthood says, abortion clinics are not safe places for women.

Emergency at Planned Parenthood Aurora
Posted by Matt Yonke (April 1, 2011 at 4:45 pm)
Ambulance and police cars at Planned Parenthood Aurora

Today League Executive Director Eric Scheidler and I were out praying and sidewalk counseling at Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois. It was a cold, rainy April afternoon, but we were getting a lot of literature into people’s hands, mostly as they were exiting the clinic.

I got the impression that many people had not gotten the help they were looking for from Planned Parenthood and were happy to hear about other options, like Waterleaf Women’s Center, our local pregnancy resource center just down the street.

As we were getting to the end of our hour of prayer and counseling, an ambulance came tearing around the corner from New York Street and sped into Planned Parenthood’s parking lot. I’ve seen a few ambulances come to Planned Parenthood and this one was certainly moving with purpose.
Planned Parenthood’s Clear Priority

The EMTs leaped out of the ambulance and ran into the side door of the facility—a door I’d never seen used in the nearly four years I’ve been protesting and praying outside this clinic. Shortly afterward, one, two and finally three Aurora police cars sped into the lot and set up a sort of perimeter around the ambulance.

A few minutes later, the EMTs came back out with a gurney and, as is their habit, Planned Parenthood’s employees’ first priority was to hold up a sheet over their victim so nobody could see what they had done to her. It never ceases to amaze me how keeping their dirty little secrets secret takes first priority over everything else, even getting this poor girl into the ambulance quicker.

Inscrutable Delays

Then a strange thing happened. The ambulance didn’t leave, but stayed in the parking lot for a full 25 minutes—something I don’t think I’ve ever seen before.

I’m not sure if that indicates that the issue was not as serious as they first thought, or that it was so serious that they couldn’t afford to transport her to the hospital before treating her.

As we waited, Eric and I finished our prayers along with local pro-life stalwart Jerry Nickels, who had seen the flashing lights as he drove by the clinic and stopped to see if he could help.
Ambulance leaves Planned Parenthood Aurora

Ambulance speeds away to the hospital

Finally, the police left, and the ambulance sped away shortly after to nearby Rush-Copley Medical Center. Eric and I tried to glean any details we could from the scene to clear up what had happened, but no evidence was forthcoming.

This incident comes on the heels of another woman being wheeled out of Planned Parenthood’s Chicago facility two weeks ago into an ambulance looking a bloody mess. It’s clear, not only is Planned Parenthood a deadly place for the child in the womb, it’s a horrible place for mothers as well.

As I wrote in a recent post, these are not things you see outside a normal medical facility, certainly not this frequently. It’s like I often tell women when I’m sidewalk counseling, “This is not a place you want to be.”
