Komen gave $1.5 million to Planned Parenthood center involved in baby parts scandal

A national breast cancer charity affiliate has granted over $1.5 million in funds to one of the Planned Parenthood centers involved in the explosive baby parts harvesting videos exposed by the Center for Medical Progress.

This blog broke the news that Susan G Komen affiliates granted $465K to 11 Planned Parenthood affiliates last year.

Komen 2015 Planned Parenthood

I tracked down several affiliates that received the finds below:

Planned Parenthood of Nassau County (PPNC)

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas

Planned Parenthood of Greater WA & North ID and here

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England

Planned Parenthood New Mexico

Planned Parenthood North Texas

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties

But, one Planned Parenthood Komen grant recipient stands out as having a connection to the now exposed baby parts harvesting scandal.

Komen COlorado Planned Parenthood

Komen Colorado gave a grant to:
Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains for, “Colorado Community Health Network received a grant to increase access to screening and diagnostic services through partner providers, including Mountain Family Health Centers.”

Davita Ginde Planned Parenthood brain

It was just last week, that The Center for Medical Progress released a video showing Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains VP & Medical Director Savita Ginde speaking with what she thought was “buyers” for a Biotech firm, and discussing pricing and contract details for the purchase of aborted baby parts.

CMP also accused the PPRM doctor of speaking about how not to “Get Caught.”

In 2009 Planned Parenthood bragged that their “clinical research” was enhanced by the abortionist caught in the video, Dr. Savita Ginde writing in a PPRM publication:

PPRM’s leadership role in advanced reproductive health care and clinical research has significantly grown with the appointment of Dr. Savita Ginde as medical director in 2004. Prior to PPRM, she conducted numerous clinical research trials within the reproductive health care specialty and, fortunately for us, continued this practice upon joining our team.

The Clinical Research division is currently working to increase PPRM’s participation in clinical trials and behavioral and environmental studies. Our goal is to become a research leader within Planned Parenthood Federation of America and to continue providing high quality care to our clients.

In the CMP video, you see abortionist Savita Ginde standing in the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic pathology laboratory, where fetuses are brought after abortions.

The video is graphic, showing the abortion doctor and an assistant discussing what how many organs she can dissect from each child Planned Parenthood had just aborted, even announcing “another boy” as she picks out parts of babies in a petri dish.

On their website Komen felt the need to post an explanation about why they fund Planned Parenthood:

Komen COlorado, Planned Parenthood

The funding dates back years and despite Komen national defunding Planned Parenthood in 2012 (before reinstating them later), Komen Colorado was granted a waiver to keep funding to the abortion business:

In fact, Komen Colorado has granted over $1.5 MILLION to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains since 1999.

Komen Planned Parenthood 2012

In addition, Komen Colordo gave over $293,000 to another abortion clinic, called the Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center.

The breakdown is below:

1995-$20,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
1996-$20,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
1997-$30,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
1998-$30,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
1999-$72,400 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and $9528 to (BVWHC)
2000-$78,056 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and $10,120 to (BVWHC)
2001-$132,590 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and $14,976 to (BVWHC)
2002-$189,222.15 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and $18,642 to (BVWHC)
2003-$178,122.54 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and $25,030 to (BVWFC)
2004-$260,467 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
    2005-$31,000 to(BVWHC)
    2006-$42,000 to(BVWHC)
    2007-$45,000 to(BVWHC)
    2008-$45,000 to(BVWHC)
2009-$35,970 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and $52,400 to(BVWHC)
2010-$68,939 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
2011-$85,680 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
2012-$115,290.42 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
2013-$98,924 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains
2014-$101,153 + $28,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains

Wonder what Komen thinks about giving to this Planned Parenthood now?

As a side note, PPRM is not only connected to Komen, they are also deep inside the public school system teaching middle school children sex-ed.

The Draw the Line/Respect the Line Planned Parenthood program is funded by the Argosy Foundation whose mission, “is to support people and programs that make our society a better place to live,” in partnership with Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ Responsible Sex Education Institute.

Komen national claims they do not conduct any “research” but will not defund anyone based on such research:

Embryonic stem cells are currently considered to have the most potential for use in the regeneration of diseased or injured tissues. Whether embryonic stem cells will have a role or will be of value in the fight against breast cancer has not been clearly determined. To this point, embryonic stem cell research has not shown promise for application in breast cancer.

    Komen Stem Cell Research

Contrary to circulating online reports, Komen has not “de-funded” any grantee based on human embryonic stem cell research conducted at their institution, the cancer charity states!

$465K from Komen to Planned Parenthood which harvests baby parts

Breast cancer non-profit Susan G. Komen said in a July 2015 press release that their Affiliates fund “breast cancer screening and outreach programs” at 11 Planned Parenthood centers in local communities, with grants totaling $465,000.

Komen 2015 Planned Parenthood

This mammogram page from Komen’s website updated the July of 2015 shows Komen referring to Planned Parenthood:

Komen Planned Parenthood

Yet, pro-lifers have documented that Planned Parenthood does NOT perform mammograms!

Komen came under fire in 2012 for funding the abortion clinic chain to the point that they removed the organization from their list of grantees. But, they soon reversed that position and apologized agreeing to fund Planned Parenthood once again.

A 2014 report by the LA Times revealed how much support Komen lost from the Planned Parenthood controversy:

with its release of its latest financial statements, the cost of that decision can be measured: It’s more than $77 million, or fully 22% of the foundation’s income. That’s how much less the Dallas-based foundation collected in contributions, sponsorships and entry fees for its sponsored races in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013, compared with the previous year. The raw figures are these: In the most recent fiscal year Komen booked $270 million; the year before that, Komen booked $348 million.

Last year’s decline was a continuation of a slightly longer trend. In fiscal 2011 the organization collected $367 million. Komen officials are candid in attributing much of last year’s sharp decline to the Planned Parenthood controversy, though they also point to the general economic slump. Participation in the group’s signature Race for the Cure events is also down.

Despite being founded in racist eugenics and covering for pedophiles, Planned Parenthood has recently come under fire after their top medical doctors were caught on camera admitting to gruesome practices of harvesting the organs from the babies they abort.

The undercover videos from the Center for Medical Progress have been going viral causing Americans to express outrage and demanding that Planned Parenthood be investigated and defunded.

The third video released shows the aborted babies inside Planned Parenthood’s path lab and have left American breathless to the evil this organization commits.

Now, blogger Jill Stanek has discovered that Planned Parenthood has hired crisis management firm SKDKnickerbocker “as it scrambles to deal with the ongoing scandal”

This after their original PR Firm sent out a statement calling the grisly operation of trafficking in human baby parts “humanitarian undertakings.”

According to The Hill, Three state-based Planned Parenthood affiliates will receive a total of about $655,000 from the federal government to help consumers navigate their insurance options under ObamaCare.

The grants were announced Thursday as the administration prepares a wide effort to educate the public ahead of open enrollment in the insurance exchanges.

Planned Parenthood affiliates based in Iowa, Montana and New Hampshire received awards to participate in the “navigator” program alongside disease groups, universities and Catholic health agencies.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the group’s political arm, was also a strong ally of President Obama in the last election.

The federal Health Department distributed a total of $67 million in grants Thursday, $13 million more than what was expected.

The funds are intended to support in-person help for people trying to understand the new insurance marketplaces.

The Planned Parenthood affiliates that received grants were: Iowa-based Planned Parenthood of the Heartland ( which once had a fundraiser of Drag Queen Bingo) , Montana-based Intermountain Planned Parenthood and New Hampshire-based Planned Parenthood of Northern New England ( Whose ex director made $250,000) .

The three organizations received between $145,000 and $296,000 each.

The DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority Executive Board today approved grants to 35 DC-based organizations to provide in-person expert assistance to individuals, families, and small businesses looking to enroll in health insurance coverage through DC Health Link, the District’s new online health insurance marketplace. The grants awarded today total $6.4 million to support more than 150 trained experts across the District in 2013 and 2014. $375,000 will go to the nation’s largest abortion clinic chain: Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington!

Pelosi wants an investigation of, among others, the 9/11 families, for daring to oppose the mosque at Ground Zero!

Rep. Pelosi calls for investigation of WTC mosque opposition

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday. She told San Francisco’s KCBS radio:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said. “How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we’ve been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City.”

Calls to investigate the funding for those proposing the $100 million “Cordoba House” have fallen on deaf ears, though, as New York’s Mayor Mike Bloomberg has described such an investigation as “un-American.”

Ms. Pelosi called the Ground Zero mosque an “urban development decision” for New Yorkers to work through. Her remarks happened on the heels of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, parting ways with President Barack Obama on the issue. Mr. Reid suggested the mosque should be built somewhere else.

Abortion and the Health Bill

There is no middle ground. Either taxpayers will fund it or they won’t.

It’s now becoming clear that Barack Obama is willing to put everything on the table in order to be the president who passes health-care reform. Everything, that is, except a ban on federal funding for abortion.

Last September, the president promised that “no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.” Yet the legislation most likely to move forward in Congress would be the single greatest expansion of abortion since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

The White House knows how to turn Mr. Obama’s September commitment into legislative action. I met with senior White House officials and told them that only adding a so-called Hyde Amendment to the health-care reform bills would fulfill the president’s promise to protect Americans from subsidizing abortion.

The Hyde Amendment dates back to the 1970s, when congressional leaders discovered that Medicaid was paying for nearly 300,000 abortions a year. This had not been an intended outcome of the Medicaid program, which was created in 1965 with strong bipartisan support. So in 1976 Rep. Henry Hyde introduced an amendment to the Health and Human Services appropriations bill prohibiting taxpayer funds from paying for abortions.

Similar amendments have been added to health-care bills ever since. Without specific language prohibiting the practice, history has shown that the courts or administrative agencies end up directing government dollars to pay for abortions.

For example, in the 1996 case Planned Parenthood v. Engler, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals found that “under Medicaid, certain categories of medical care are mandatory.” The court then found that abortion “fits within many of the mandatory care categories, including ‘family planning,’ ‘outpatient services,’ ‘inpatient services,’ and ‘physician services.'” In short, the court created a mandate for funded abortions through Medicaid if the Hyde Amendment is ever eliminated.

Over the past year, language similar to the Hyde Amendment was crafted by Reps. Bart Stupak (D., Mich.) and Joe Pitts (R., Pa.) and inserted into the health-care bill that passed the House. When asked about the Stupak-Pitts Amendment in November, Mr. Obama talked around the issue. He said that “there is a balance to be achieved that is consistent with the Hyde Amendment.” When asked if Stupak-Pitts struck this “balance,” the president replied “not yet.”

That’s an odd reply. The question of abortion funding doesn’t have any Zen to it: The funding is either prohibited or it’s not.

In November, presidential adviser David Axelrod, on CNN’s “State of the Union,” also talked around the Hyde Amendment, saying that the president “doesn’t believe this bill should change the status quo as it relates to the issue of abortion.” But then Mr. Axelrod claimed that “this shouldn’t be a debate about abortion” before concluding that there were discussions in Congress about “how to adjust [the abortion language bill] accordingly.”

Apparently, his definition of “adjust” means opening up the spigot for the abortion lobby. The president’s latest proposal mirrors legislation that has passed the Senate, which doesn’t include a Hyde Amendment, and would inevitably establish abortion as a fundamental health-care service for the following reasons:

• It would change existing law by allowing federally subsidized health-care plans to pay for abortions and could require private health-insurance plans to cover abortion.

• It would impose a first-ever abortion tax—a separate premium payment that will be used to pay for elective abortions—on enrollees in insurance plans that covers abortions through newly created government health-care exchanges.

• And it would fail to protect the rights of health-care providers to refuse to participate in abortions.

The president’s plan goes further than the Senate bill on abortion by calling for spending $11 billion over five years on “community health centers,” which include Planned Parenthood clinics that provide abortions.

The bottom line is that the president wants to deploy words that sound soothing like “balance” and “adjust.” Meanwhile, the courts are rendering precedent with stark words like “mandatory.”

When confronted by House Minority Leader John Boehner about abortion funding during the health-care summit last week, the president dropped his head and looked down at the table. How revealing.

Poll: 23 Percent to Donate to Breast Cancer Research, Funds Go to Abortion Biz

by Steven Ertelt Editor

Washington, DC ( — A new poll finds that 23 percent of Americans plan to donate money to go to support breast cancer research. But what these donors may not understand is a portion of what they give to the Komen for the Cure organization may wind up supporting the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

A new Rasmussen survey released today shows 23% of adults plan to donate money toward breast cancer research this month.

Another 60 percent have no plans to donate while 17 percent are unsure whether they will contribute.

The Rasmussen poll showed 39 percent of Americans plan to purchase pink products from groups like Komen and another 9 percent say they will participate in a charity walk such as the Race for the Cure.

When they support Komen, Americans may not be aware that Komen’s own figures show it gave $711,485 from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006 to Planned Parenthood abortion businesses and at least $726,445 for 2006-2007.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure spokeswoman Rebecca Gibson previously confirmed that at least 19 of the 122 Komen affiliates made grants totaling $374,253 to Planned Parenthood during the 2005-2006 fiscal year.

The amount of the grants from Komen affiliates to Planned Parenthood appears to be on the rise and 25 Komen affiliates now have a partnership with the abortion business.

Since then, the grants have continued.

In April, the Denver Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure awarded a $35,970 grant to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, which runs multiple abortion businesses in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

In June, Komen for the Cure teamed up with Planned Parenthood of Idaho and provided the abortion facility with funding.

Komen officials have dismissed the grants saying they are for breast cancer screenings, but pro-life advocates say the money is fungible and that it frees up funds Planned Parenthood could use for breast screenings but instead uses on abortions.

Jim Sedlak, a representative of the watchdog group STOPP previously said the numbers are concerning given that millions of pro-life Americans will participate in Komen events and donate to the group.

“More and more people are speaking up about the fact that Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer research foundation, supports Planned Parenthood,” Sedlak told last year.

He pointed to studies showing abortion increases a woman’s chances of contracting breast cancer and said that makes the donations extremely questionable.

“The fact that Komen Affiliates give money to Planned Parenthood contradicts Komen’s claim that it works to end breast cancer,” Sedlak said. “This is ridiculous and must stop.”

Sedlak urged pro-life advocates to disassociate themselves with any Komen events until the organization’s affiliates stop giving money to the abortion business.

He also urged pro-life people to make Planned Parenthood’s pro-abortion mission clear to Komen officials and event participants.

Donations during the 2006-2007 fiscal year from Komen affiliates to Planned Parenthood abortion businesses include:

* PP of Texas Capital Region received $62,886 from the Austin Komen Affiliate.

PP of Idaho received $15,000 from the Boise Komen Affiliate.
