Riverfront Times is reporting the “Conspiracy”
Nearly every local news outlet has reported the story: This week the Army plans to drive armored vehicles through city streets as part of a training exercise it is holding at its reserve center in north St. Louis.
But it was KSDK’s version of the story last Thursday that really ignited the crazies. Like Orson Welles’ broadcast of War of the Worlds, KSDK anchorman Mike Bush began the 10 p.m. newscast:
Bush: “Good evening. It’s a military mission in north St. Louis. Heavily armored vehicles are rolling into town. And while they come in peace, there are all kinds of rumors as to why they are here. News Channel 5’s Casey Nolen is live — somewhere in St. Charles County — where he got an up-close look at the military vehicles.”
Casey Nolen: “Yeah, Mike, in order to get that up-close look we’ve agreed not to say exactly where in St. Charles County we are right tonight and where these vehicles will be parked over night. The Army doesn’t want that information released for security reasons.”
Oh, lordy, guys. Look what you’ve started…
“[S]uch an action on the part of the Department of Defense makes perfect sense if the goal is to acclimate citizens to the idea of seeing tanks and armed military acting in a policing capacity,” wrote the right-wing site Zero Hedge in a post linking to the KSDK story. “Just check out the two random idiots the local news affiliate picked to interview in St. Louis on the subject.”
Scoffed “Dr. Eowyn” on the site Fellowship of the Minds: “[KSDK’s] Nolan is assured that the ‘armored vehicles’ — tanks — are ‘harmless’ and that the whole thing is ‘not such a big deal.'” But as Dr. Eowyn points out, the U.S. Army’s military police have five missions, one of them being “internment and resettlement operations”!!!
Good God! It’s enough to have you asking the big man for help, which is exactly what the site Pray-the-News did when it got hold of the story.

We find it interesting that our Army would be training in the streets of our cities. We have been blessed by not having experienced a war, as such, on our streets…with the exception of the attack on 9/11 on the Trade Center. Even then, there was no foreign army on our streets. We ask, Lord, that You would expose the plans and identities of our enemies, both foreign and domestic. We pray for Your divine protection, and wisdom in dealing with these threats against us. Our Hope is in You!
Amen.
