Duncan-StephenUPDATE: A few days after a legal notice appeared announcing the closure of an abortion center that has operated in Tallahassee since 1981, clinic workers announced that Stephen Wiley Duncan, the primary abortionist at North Florida Women’s Health & Counseling Services, plans to open a new abortion center “sometime in April.”

rasnerTodd Rasner, a Jacksonville OB/GYN who also kills babies at the Tallahassee clinic, stated, “I wouldn’t consider it closing, more relocating.” Rasner stated that Duncan has plans to open up his own abortion center.

An application for an abortion clinic license being processed with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration lists the same address with a slightly different name, North Florida Women’s Services, 1345 Cross Creek Circle, Tallahassee, Florida 32301. It will be owned by an LLC formed in August 2013 that lists Stephen Duncan as the manager.

An abortion center worker, posted on her public Facebook page that she wasn’t at liberty to tell the reason for the closure. She expressed hope that she would make the transition.

“There will be another clinic opening in Tallahassee and I will most likely be working there.”

When asked if reason for the closure was “misogyny related,” she wrote, “No, no, it’s just legally I shouldn’t talk about it because I don’t even know what I’m talking about. I don’t even know the whole story. So I wanna refrain from slander.”

A pending medical malpractice lawsuit on record names both the abortion center and Stephen Duncan. The lawsuit, Jackson v. Duncan, was filed on October 30, 2013.

An abortion clinic in Florida has posted a legal notice of closure:

N Florida Womens Health

North Florida Women’s Health & Counseling Services, Inc. in Tallahassee posted they will close by March 31, 2014.

The clinic has been in operation since 1981 and its administrator is DEBRA S. SPARKS.

The Agency for Health Care Administration which licenses and inspects abortion clinics in the state, fined the clinic $200.00 in July of 2013 for failing to submit the monthly report of abortions as required by law.

In 2009 a letter of intent was sent for failing to report abortions.

According to local pro-life activists the fines above are basically inconsequential. The real reason the mill is closing is due to a “lack of physicians.”

Jay Rogers ( who blogs here about abortion in Florida) informed Saynsumth that pro-lifer Matt Ferro visited one of the abortionists Todd Rasner, in his office in Jacksonville over a month ago. In the conversation, Rasner revealed he’d be quitting soon and wanted Matt to know telling Matt that he thinks that late term abortions are unethical.

Pro-lifers also discovered another abortionist Stephen Duncan, runs two clinics in Tallahasee. However, his license is on active/probation due to several felonies — 36 counts of violations of state statute involving the illegal dispensing of controlled substances.

Planned Parenthood closing center to go mobile, hiring health coordinator

After 2 decades Planned Parenthood is closing its Yuma, Arizona center, located at 1455 W. 16th St. Instead they are hiring Health Coordinators.

PP Yuma 2013

Planned Parenthood has operated a health center in Yuma for two decades, providing annual gynecological exams and preventive birth control, treating sexually transmitted infections and, at one time, early stage abortions which were eliminated by the Arizona Legislature in 2012.

“We looked at health care data in Yuma County and found, for example, the teen birth rate in the three western counties in Arizona – Mohave, La Paz and Yuma – is 29 percent higher than the rest of the state,” president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona Bryan Howard said.

“We asked ourselves if we have great health care institutions like Sunset (Community Health Center), Regional Center for Border Health and (Yuma Regional Medical Center) and we’re still seeing challenges in health outcomes, what’s not getting done?

“It had to do with knowledge and values and a community dialogue about prevention. That’s something we had promoted, something that needs to be out in the community. We can’t promote it being inside a building,” Howard added.

The organization will discontinue services at the health center but will continue to have a presence in the community through the regional health coordinator.

We are moving from health care services sequestered inside a building to a full-time person who is out in the community,” explained president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona Bryan Howard, “We had a ‘build it and they will come’ orientation. The idea was we can’t do anything for you unless you come to us. We can do more by going out to the people.”

This full-time staff person will supposedly provide information and referrals to difficult-to-access sexual health care, foster community partnerships, engage volunteers and activists, give presentations and promote inclusion of sexual education in local school districts. The coordinator will be hired from the community and will work exclusively in the county.

My guess is they will push ObamaCare and Birth Control!

Reina Schiffrin, President/CEO of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP), said the van is meant to be noticed and draw in passersby. She noted that so many people need the services offered by Planned Parenthood but they either don’t know they’re available or are hesitant to walk into a health center.

“We need to be able to go out into the community – to the places where people socialize and hang out – and reach those who need us the most,” Schiffrin said. “With SmartWheels, we’re able to bring services directly to them in a place where they already feel comfortable. Not only do they get the information they need immediately, but many go one step further and make an appointment at one of our centers.”

PPHP Board Vice Chair Ann Pogue-Campbell, Mary Beth Guyther of the Long Island Community Foundation, and Assemblyman Steve Englebright also spoke about how the van will help Planned Parenthood provide more accessible health care. Supporters toured the van and met the staff members who will be taking it into the community. The van will travel around Suffolk County and be housed at the Smithtown Health Center.

In August Planned Parenthood announced the closure of two centers in Colorado and one in Las Vegas.

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains has announced the consolidation and closure of two of its 23 Colorado centers. According to their press release: Effective Sept. 1, PPRM’s Eastside health center in Colorado Springs in addition to PPRM’s La Junta location will close. In addition to the two Colorado closures, PPRM will close one center in Las Vegas.

This follows a pattern of closings we are seeing in the mast few months:

Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin says a new admitting privileges law would force its Grand Chute clinic to close because providers there lack admitting privileges at local hospitals. They are fighting the new law in court as we publish this.

‪‎Planned Parenthood‬ Mohawk Hudson has announced that they will close Ticonderoga Health Center in August ! The abortion giant closed its Granville and Herkimer health centers on July 3.

Planned Parenthood in Texas announced the closing their in Bryan, Huntsville and Lufkin locations shortly after Gov Rick Perry signed new abortion restrictions into law. Melaney Linton, Planned Parenthood’s Gulf Coast president and CEO cited increasingly hostile environment along with budget cuts as reasons for the closures.

Wisconsin Planned Parenthood has shut down their Appleton facility following the passage of abortion restrictions that require doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of where the abortion will occur. In addition Planned Parenthood’s Green Bay clinics plans to stop offering abortion services for reasons unrelated to the new law.

Planned Parenthood in New Jersey has announced it will be closing the only Somerset County location within the next month.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana has also announced the closure of their Richmond office. The organization publicized the decision in a press release citing increased costs and a decline in the number of patients as reasons.

Planned Parenthood Keystone in Pennsylvania has announced the closure of its medical center in Carlisle, citing the abortion giant’s desire to consolidate rather than operate two centers in the area as reasons.
