Disciplined Abortionist allowed to keep license (For now)

A California judge has denied state medical authorities’ emergency request to revoke the license of an abortionist following an undercover sting conducted by Board investigators which caught abortionist Andrew Rutland doing first trimester chemical abortions even though he has been banned from the procedure. Despite this decision, Rutland still faces a full hearing on the state’s accusation of negligence over the abortion related death of Ying Chen, who fell into a coma after a toxic reaction to a drug Rutland administered. At the time, Rutland was on probation and practicing under another physician’s supervision. That physician happened to be another abortionist with a spotty disciplinary record. The medical board has acknowledged that it violated its own rules by allowing abortionist Christopher Dotson Jr. to serve as Rutland’s monitor. Rutland first surrendered his license in 2002 in a high-profile case involving the deaths of two infants. Medical Board spokeswoman Candis Cohen told the La Times that the board would pursue its effort to revoke Rutland’s license “as expeditiously as possible.”

Abortionist Andrew Rutland in trouble with State Medical Board – AGAIN!

The LA Times Reporting:
Doctor barred from surgeries allegedly caught violating order
An undercover investigator says Dr. Andrew Rutland advised her to have a chemical abortion. The lawyer for Rutland, disciplined after an abortion patient’s death, says he performed no surgeries.
By Lisa Girion
February 18, 2010

Less than a month after Dr. Andrew Rutland was barred from performing surgeries after an abortion patient’s death, state medical authorities say they caught the physician in an undercover sting apparently violating the court order.

For the second time in as many months, state officials are seeking the immediate suspension of the Chula Vista physician’s license. A hearing is set for Thursday in San Diego. Rutland could not be reached for comment.

His lawyer, Paul M. Hittelman, said Rutland did nothing to violate the court’s order.

“It’s not asserted that he was doing any surgical procedures,” said Hittelman, adding that Rutland’s physician daughter performed those procedures.

On Jan. 7, Administrative Law Judge James Ahler stopped short of granting the request by lawyers for the Medical Board of California, deciding instead to temporarily limit his practice until a full hearing could be held. One potential problem for the state was proving that Rutland posed an immediate danger — given that it took five months to bring its case.

This time, lawyers for the medical board will present evidence of a sting operation hatched a couple of days after the January hearing.

At that time, in response to a request from Rutland’s lawyer seeking clarification of the no-surgery order, the judge amended it to specifically ban him from performing “first trimester abortions and endometrial curettage procedures.”

Two weeks later, Medical Board investigator Carmen Aguilera-Marquez made an appointment for an abortion at A Women’s Choice Family Planning Clinic in Chula Vista. She used an undercover alias and brought a urine sample from a pregnant woman.

At the clinic, she saw Rutland in a room through an open door standing by a woman lying on an examination table, according to a petition filed by the board. The patient’s legs were bent, and Rutland was looking into the patient’s cervical area, she said.

She spoke with a friend of the patient who told her that the woman was there for a “chemical abortion,” a spontaneous miscarriage induced with pills inserted by a physician, she said in the petition.

Later, when she was asked to undergo a pregnancy test, the investigator went into a bathroom and filled the cup with urine she brought with her, she said.

Rutland determined she was seven weeks pregnant. He said his physician daughter performs surgical abortions but was not in that day, she said, and advised that she allow him to do a chemical abortion.

The investigator insisted on a surgical procedure, and an appointment was scheduled for another day, she said in the petition.

Dr. Jessica Kingston, an expert physician retained by the medical board, said in the petition that by counseling the patient and “being ready, willing and capable of prescribing the necessary medications for an abortion, and determining whether the patient was a candidate for a medical abortion, Dr. Rutland is performing first trimester abortions.”

“We believe nothing was done that would violate the order as amended or in its original form, for that matter,” Hittelman said. Rutland was accused in December of negligence in attempting to perform a high-risk, second-trimester abortion in an ill-equipped and unsanitary back room of an acupuncture clinic in San Gabriel.

The patient, 30-year-old Ying Chen, fell into a coma and eventually died from a toxic reaction to a drug Rutland administered, the autopsy report said.

At the time, Rutland was on probation and practicing under another physician’s supervision. The medical board acknowledged this month that it violated its own rules by allowing Christopher Dotson Jr., a Los Angeles doctor with a spotty disciplinary record of his own, to serve as Rutland’s monitor.

Rutland first surrendered his license in 2002 in a high-profile case involving the deaths of two infants. In 2007, Rutland convinced the board that he had been rehabilitated and regained his license.

Abortionist Rutland Caught Doing Abortions In Violation of Suspension

Operation Rescue’s own undercover sting recording submitted to the Board as evidence of illegal activity

Chula Vista, CA – The California Medical Board has asked for the emergency suspension of Andrew Rutland’s medical license after an undercover sting conducted by Board investigators caught him doing first trimester chemical abortions even though he has been banned from the procedure.

Rutland was scheduled to appear before a judge in San Diego County this afternoon.

Rutland’s license was only partially suspended on January 7, 2010, after Ying Chen died from a backroom abortion at a dirty, ill-equipped acupuncture clinic in San Gabriel as a result of a botched second trimester abortion done by Rutland. He was banned from surgery and from doing abortions.

Subsequently, Rutland asked for permission to continue doing first trimester abortions, but on January 12, the Board issued a clarification specifically banning him from doing them.

Independently from the Medical Board, Operation Rescue conducted an undercover sting of its own on February 3, 2010, wherein a woman posing as a potential abortion customer received an appointment for a surgical abortion with Rutland for later that day.

Operation Rescue immediately contacted the Medical Board and submitted a copy of the recorded conversation.

Listen to the call

Rutland’s attorney told the LA Times that Rutland’s daughter was actually doing the surgical abortions, but in the call made by Operation Rescue, the receptionist “Rhea” indicated that the caller’s appointment would be with Dr. Rutland, referring frequently to “him.” There was no mention of another physician.

“For the second time in two months, the California Medical Board is asking for the suspension of Rutland’s full license because of the danger he poses to the public,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We pray this time they get it. We will continue to work though all legal channels available to us until he is out of the abortion business for good.”

Rutland has a long and troubled history. Rutland’s license had been previously revoked in 2003, after his negligence caused the death of a wanted baby during childbirth. Rutland lied to the parents about the child’s cause of death. At that time he was on probation for the deaths of two other infants. In 2007, Rutland’s license was reinstated.

He took over a Chula Vista abortion clinic from abortionist Nolan Jones, who had his license revoked in March, 2009, for violations ranging from botched abortions to fraud. Jones had replaced unlicensed abortionist Bertha Bugarin, who is serving nearly 7 years in state prison for illegal abortions. Bugarin had stepped in after abortionist Phillip Rand surrendered his medical license due to his part in killing a woman during a botched abortion in Santa Ana in 2004.

“We pray that Rutland is the last abortionist in this cycle of abuse of women through illegal and unsafe abortions, and that this clinic will never be allowed to reopen,” said Newman.

The OC Register writes:

The California Medical Board allowed an Anaheim ob-gyn who regained his license after the death of two newborns to be monitored by a doctor who had himself been disciplined for a patient’s death.

Board rules require that doctors serve as monitors only if they have no record of disciplinary action. In this case, the board let Dr. Christopher C. Dotson of Los Angeles help oversee Dr. Andrew Rutland’s five years of probation.

Rutland has again been accused of negligence after the death last year of Ying Chen, an abortion patient, 30, who suffered a toxic reaction to anesthesia on his operating table. Since her death, Rutland has been temporarily barred from surgery; he faces another disciplinary hearing next month.

As for abortionist Christopher C. Dotson…according to the website for the abortion clinic: Eve Surgical Center

Eve’s abortionist: “Christopher C. Dotson, Jr., M.D., is a pioneer in reproductive health care. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Surgeons and the Los Angeles Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. He has taught residents at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and at the local medical schools for over thirty years.”

And get this ladies and gentlemen….”Presently his energies are devoted to overseeing the program at Eve Surgical Center and serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Abortion Federation.” ( NOTE: Wait a second – doesn’t NAF brag that they “oversee” the safety standards of abortion clinics nationwide? )

According to the OC Register: Dotson, 78, completed five years of probation in 2005, part of his settlement of negligence allegations stemming from a mother who bled to death after a Caesarean section and a separate case of a stillborn baby. (NOTE – Well… no wonder he has such a high NAF Rating- a woman died )

The Register obtained Dotson’s disciplinary records last week and asked the medical board on Jan. 27 why a previously disciplined doctor was allowed to serve as monitor. On Tuesday board spokeswoman Candis Cohen responded, saying probation staff had erred and Dotson has now been removed as Rutland’s practice monitor.

More of Eve’s Docs – you may want to be aware of: Josepha Seletz, M.D. is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the National Abortion Federation, the Los Angeles County Women’s Medical Association, and the Los Angeles Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.” ( NOTE: Wow…2 NAF members working at the same place for the price of 1…the women in the care of Rutland and Dotson must have been in very safe hands – NOT !)

Dr. Seletz has been on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for more than 15 years. Before limiting her practice to abortion services, she had a full OB/Gyn practice including gynecological surgery and high-risk obstetrics.”
(NOTE: Can’t wait to read what pops up on her next)>

Gee…Dotson sounds like a top-notch doc. If you are marketing abortions to unsuspecting women, then I guess that trick works..but a little research shows that on October 25,2000 The LA Times wrote this about Dotson: Dr. Christopher C. Dotson Jr., Los Angeles: Committed acts of unprofessional conduct during the care and treatment of two obstetrical patients. Revocation of license stayed, five years’ probation. Effective June 16. But perhaps among abortionists, this National Abortion Federation Board Member is one of the “best”. ( Just Say’n!)

According to: Reporting on Health writer William Heisel:

“Dotson was among the rarest of the rare, a doctor who had been reported to the medical board by his hospital. Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital in Los Angeles said Dotson had been negligent in the treatment of multiple patients. He lost his privileges to practice there.

One of Dotson’s patients died following an abortion in February 1992. The board said that Dotson failed to adequately examine her and should have classified her case as high risk. Because he did not, the board said, the patient ended up bleeding severely from her uterus. Dotson was not prepared to respond. He did not have the right equipment, and he was not able to give her a blood transfusion quickly enough.

This may sound familiar. Rutland also is accused of negligence during an abortion and of failing to adequately examine the patient, Ying Chen. “Key information is missing from the patient’s history such as height, weight and last menstrual period,” the board wrote. “There is no record of the ultrasound examination.”

The board said Rutland “failed to respond in a timely manner in performing appropriate resuscitative measures and obtaining the assistance of emergency personnel.” He also failed to give her an oxygen mask and failed to call 911 quickly enough. Rutland has maintained throughout the medical board and criminal cases that he did nothing wrong in the treatment of Chen.

Might the similarities between their cases have made Dotson sympathetic to Rutland’s plight?

The similarities don’t stop there. Like Rutland, Dotson also has been sued multiple times by patients claiming injury or wrongful death.

In 2005, the week before Dotson’s probation was set to expire, a 34-year-old attorney named Oriane Shevin visited Dotson’s clinic, Eve Surgical Center in Los Angeles, according to records filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. She was given RU-486, the two-stage abortion drug, and sent home. Shevin took the first part, mifepristone, orally on June 9, 2005, and inserted the misoprostol into her vagina on June 10. She developed a widespread infection and severe bleeding, dying on June 14 at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center, court records show. ( SAY AGAIN? NOT the Same Abortion Clinic which had two National Abortion Federation Members and One Board Member on staff- couldn’t happen there – could it?)

Dotson was sued on behalf of Shevin’s two young children, and he, along with another doctor and the surgical center, settled the case on July 12, 2007.

Two months later, Rutland was given his license back, with restrictions, and Dotson, fresh out of probation, was given the job of overseeing Rutland’s practice.”

Back to the OC Register Story, “The board has accused Rutland of not knowing the appropriate dose of anesthesia and failing to properly attempt to resuscitate Chen, who died in August. Rutland denies he was negligent.

Dotson wrote a letter to the medical board’s enforcement unit Oct. 9, vouching for Rutland’s record keeping and saying Chen died “in spite of appropriate resuscitation efforts.”

“In my opinion, Dr. Rutland is taking his probation very seriously and doing everything he can to more than meet the requisite requirements,” Dotson wrote. ( NOTE: Now there is that typical National Abortion Federation attitude: The abortion patient death is just a “complication” and not to be taken seriously…after all…it is only an “isolated” death unlike the murder of a few abortionist, who are typically male, and make money for NAF)

( More on that great NAF Board Member) The OC Register continues the report: In 1992, a pregnant woman was admitted to Centinela Hospital in Inglewood with bleeding. Dotson performed a C-section, but she continued to lose blood. Lawyers for the board said Dotson failed to identify her as high-risk based on her medical history or give her enough transfused blood. Additionally, he closed her abdomen and sent her to recovery instead of monitoring her and calling for a hematologist.

After her condition worsened she was taken back to the operating room for a hysterectomy. She suffered a heart attack and died of hemorrhaging.

Abortionist Rutland has been instructed to submit the name of a new monitor for board approval. ( Hmmm…I wonder who he will select? Another NAF member ?)

Rutland Banned From Abortions But Retains License For Now

* Written by Operation Rescue
* Posted January 8, 2010 at 11:38 am

San Diego, CA – Abortionist Andrew Rutland has been ordered by a judge to stop doing abortions and delivering babies until the California Medical Board and determine whether his medical license should be permanently revoked.

The CMB asked for an emergency suspension of Rutland’s license after he killed a woman during a botched abortion in San Gabriel and violated his probation by doing abortions without the supervision of a second physician in Chula Vista and Santa Ana.

Administrative Judge James Ahler allowed Rutland to keep his license so he could continue to see patients for consultations. However, Deputy Atty. Gen. Douglas Lee questioned Rutland’s professional judgment, noting repeated negligent acts committed by him that led to the death of 30-year old Ying Chen during a second trimester abortion.

Judge Ahler agreed that if Rutland continued to do surgeries and deliveries, he “presents a risk of danger and there is a likelihood of injury to the public.”

Lee pointed out that Rutland has a history of dishonesty and corruption. He has lied to patients and authorities repeatedly, according to the formal revocation petition filed against him on Christmas Eve.

“Rutland is a proven liar. How do we know he will comply with the judge’s order to stop doing abortions? Who is going to enforce this order? Are the authorities simply going to take him at his word?” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We are outraged that Rutland’s license was not fully suspended. This decision places women’s lives at risk.”

Also present during yesterday’s hearing were Scott and Kathy Broussard of San Juan Capistrano, whose daughter, Jillian, died as a result of a forceps delivery by Rutland. That incident led to the revocation of Rutland’s license in 2003. They expressed disappointment at the reinstatement of his medical license in 2007 and at yesterday’s decision.

“I think his victims and the public needed to get full peace of mind today, and they didn’t,” Kathy Broussard told the Orange County Register. “He still has a practice in Anaheim. He’s still allowed to do gynecological exams and consultations. It’s appalling.”

The California Medical Board will meet at a later date to determine if Rutland’s license should be permanently revoked.

From San Diego’s News 10 Local Abortion Clinic’s Troubled History Raises Questions

21120994_240X180

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A family member expressed outrage Friday over the punishment handed down for two local health care workers, 10News reported.

Longtime Chula Vista resident Maria Hart said everyone knows where to go when they need to get an abortion.

Hart took her cousin to a local clinic when they were younger.

She came out crying; she came out in tears, back then we were young,” said Hart.

Hart and her cousin were afraid to tell anyone. Hart said her cousin was fondled and sexually molested during her abortion.

We kind of just went there and trusted the doctors and that they would treat us correctly, and they didn’t,” said Hart.

The doctor her cousin visited, Bertha Bugarin, was sentenced to seven years in state prison for posing as a doctor and performing illegal abortions.

A court recently sentenced her accomplices, Luz Catalina-Gomez and Paloma Rodriguez, to three years probation.

I don’t think it’s right that they’re just still walking around, free to go,” said Hart.

A new clinic has recently opened up under the name Woman’s Choice Family Planning Clinic, and it is being run by Dr. Andrew Rutland. Sources told 10News that Rutland has had problems in the past and is on probation.

Rutland was accused by the State Medical Board of negligently treating ten patients, including two infants who died. He surrendered his license, but applied for reinstatement five years later.

The medical board granted his request in 2007, and Rutland was placed on five years probation and must now practice under the supervision of another doctor.

How can you say that this particular clinic is continuing Bugarin’s efforts?” asked 10News’ Charisse Yu.

The doctor who is presently here has connections with one of the doctors who used to work for Bugarin who lost his license because of malpractice suits,” said pro-life advocate Luis Mendoza.

Hart said she can only hope history won’t repeat itself at a clinic that left many women with emotional and physical scars.

OPERATION RESCUE REPORTED:

News Report Exposes Another Illegal Abortionist, Says Clinic “More Dangerous Than Ever”
October 13, 2009

Operation Rescue demands that the Medical Board take immediate action to revoke Rutland‘s license for probation violations.

Andrewrutland

San Diego, CA – A television news station has reported on outrage expressed by pro-lifers and the cousin of one of the clinic’s sexual assault victims that accomplices of illegal abortionist Bertha Bugarin received no jail time during their sentencing on criminal abortion charges last month then went on to expose dangers at new abortion clinic.

As reported by Operation Rescue, Luz Catalina-Gomez and Paloma Yonna Solorzano-Rodriguez each received 3 years probation for aiding and abetting the commission of illegal abortions at Bugarin’s Chula Vista, California abortion clinic. The agreement was reached between the defense attorneys and San Diego Superior Court Judge Ted Wethers without the input of the District Attorney’s office in a deal that Operation Rescue President Troy Newman called “fishy.” Bugarin is currently serving 6 years, 8 months in a state prison for her crimes.

Sidewalk Counselor Luis Mendoza, who has worked with Operation Rescue to expose wrong-doing at San Diego area abortion clinics, was particularly upset by the light sentences.

As a sidewalk counselor for nearly 4 years at the now defunct abortion mill were these women worked I experienced first-hand how evil and coercive they were,” said Mendoza.

He remembers a young Hispanic couple, not more than 14 years of age, that he tried to help. They were lied to by Solorzano-Rodriguez about legal problems at the clinic and were coerced by her into having the abortion.

The news report included an interview with Maria Hart, whose cousin had been fondled and sexually molested during an abortion when she was only 16 years old.

We kind of just went there and just trusted the doctors that they would treat us correctly, and they didn’t,” said Hart. “And I don’t think it’s right that they’re still walking around, free to go.

But the report didn’t stop there. After Bugarin’s clinic closed, another abortionist, Andrew Rutland, reopened an abortion clinic in the same location under a new name. Reporter Charisse Yu attempted to interview Rutland, who has an extensive history of discipline with the California Medical Board and is currently on probation and prohibited from practicing without the oversight of another physician.

However, there was no supervising physician on duty with him on the day of the interview.

This news report shows yet another in a long line of abortionists operating illegally,” said Newman. “We demand that the Medical Board act immediately to revoke his medical license. We also demand that the District Attorney’s look into filing criminal charges against Rutland.”

Rutland and Bugarin and the rest of their cohorts are not exceptions to the rule, but are what can be expected at our nation’s abortion mills. Jailing these people is the only way to stop them from preying on vulnerable women,” said Newman.

In the meantime, women must be warned of the dangers of abortion clinics in our nation. They are staffed by shoddy abortionists and unqualified workers who are the bottom of the barrel in the medical world that routinely lie to women about the safety of their operations. Some are sexual predators, as Ms. Hart attested to, who use abortion clinics as a means of accessing victims. Women deserve better than this, and we urge anyone considering abortion to instead contact an abortion alternatives center in their area and get the help they need.

Bugarin accomplices sentenced
Women who helped with illegal abortions get probation, community service
California Catholic Daily 9/24/2009

Two accomplices of Bertha Bugarin, who is serving a prison sentence for performing illegal abortions in San Diego and Los Angeles counties, have been sentenced to three years probation and lengthy terms of community service for their roles in assisting Bugarin’s illicit activities at Clinica Medica para la Mujer de Hoy in Chula Vista.

Clinica Medica

Luz Catalina-Gomez was charged with four counts of “treating the sick/afflicted without a certificate,” while Paloma Yonna Solorzano-Rodriguez was accused of two counts of the same crime. Both women were also charged with a single count of grand theft. The alleged crimes occurred on various dates between February and March of 2007.

Catalina-Gomez was sentenced to three years formal probation, 350 hours of volunteer work service to be completed by Sept. 20, 2010, and 365 days in custody stayed pending successful completion of probation, Paul Levikow, Communications Director for the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, told California Catholic Daily. The judge also ordered Catalina-Gomez to have no contact with Bertha or Raquel Bugarin and prohibited her from working in the medical field.

Solorzano-Rodriguez was sentenced to three years formal probation, 200 hours of volunteer work service to be completed by Sept. 20, 2010, and 365 days in custody stayed pending successful completion of probation. Solorzano-Rodriguez was also ordered to have no contact with the Bugarin sisters and not to seek employment in the medical field, Levikow said.

Both defendants pleaded guilty on the day that jury trial was scheduled to begin,” said Levikow. “Defendants both pleaded guilty to all charges on the Information that pertained to them.”

San Diego Superior Court Judge Ted Weathers handed down the sentences in a deal reached between the judge and the defendants, said Levikow. “The People (DA’s office) did not take part in this deal.”

The two women worked for Bertha Bugarin, who earlier pleaded guilty to nine felony counts of performing abortions without a license at the Chula Vista clinic, just a few miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. The clinic targeted Spanish-speaking women from the border area. On April 24, Judge Charles Gill sentenced Bugarin to six years, eight months in prison. Bugarin’s sentence in the San Diego case will run concurrently with a three-year, four-month sentence handed down against her in January on similar charges in Los Angeles County.

This criminal preyed on women in the Hispanic community and has now been held accountable,” said San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis in December 2008, when Bugarin pleaded guilty to the charges. “By passing herself off as a doctor, she put these women’s lives in serious danger.”

Bugarin’s sister, Raquel Bugarin, pleaded no contest to three counts of felony practicing medicine without a license in a plea bargain with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. In exchange, the district attorney dismissed four other felony counts filed against her. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Sam Ohta sentenced Raquel Bugarin on Oct. 1, 2008 to three years formal probation, 500 hours of community service, and ordered her to pay $3,270 in restitution to six victims.

Bertha Bugarin advertised her Chula Vista clinic on Spanish-language television in San Diego and Tijuana. At least nine victims in the Chula Vista area came forward and identified Bugarin as the person who performed surgical and/or medical procedures on them, the San Diego district attorney said. One of Bugarin’s patients suffered severe complications and had to be hospitalized twice, and eventually delivered her baby prematurely, which lived for only three hours, said the district attorney. Another patient paid $500 for an abortion, but had to return to the office for a second procedure because the first abortion was unsuccessful, according to the district attorney.

Bugarin reportedly ran a cash-only business, and over a period of 18 years hired a long list of physicians to perform abortions who had a history of incompetence or negligence, many of whom had their licenses to practice medicine revoked, according to records on file at the California Medical Board. Apparently, when Bugarin ran out of licensed physicians to perform abortions, she decided to pose as a doctor and do them herself.

One of Bugarin’s abortionists, Laurence Reich, was a twice-convicted sex offender who molested and raped his abortion patients. Reich surrendered his license in 2006, but continued to work as an abortionist for Bugarin until his arrest in February, 2008.

Even after her arrest in a Los Angeles Police raid on 4 of her remaining 6 clinics, Bugarin continued to operate in San Diego County until her arrest there.

Bugarin pled guilty to 9 felony counts in San Diego County and is scheduled for sentencing there on Friday, February 6, 2009.

As I stated in a previous BLOG, where I list other incidents of pro-choice violence, the recent murder of a pro-life activist has been just a blip on the radar screen of the news media. Even Fox News has drooped the story, failing to report the thousands of threats, assaults, attacks, and illegal activities by pro-choice and abortion activists. Below is some historical perspective on just how sleezy the abortion industry really is. A little effort by the news medias – INCLUDING FOX , Glenn Beck, and Bill O’Reilly- would blow the lid off the illegal activities going on under the guise of “Reproductive Rights”!

Here are a few more examples:
Unsuspecting Ghanaian abortion patient, Eunice Agabgaa entered Y&P Medical (abortion) Clinic in New York. Dr. Abram Zelikman allegedly left the clinic while Eunice was in recovery from an abortion Zelikman had performed. Unfortunately the abortion was so bad, it resulted in her death. A friend who was present at the clinic testified that she pleaded with the clinic staff to call paramedics once she noticed Eunice’s bloodied body and poor vital signs. her friend stated, ” I felt if I hadn’t been there they would have wrapped her dead body and thrown it in the garbage.“. The California Medical Board , investigated actions by abortion doc: Dr. Tati Okereke, A/K/A High Street Medical. In 1982, Dr. Okereke was accused of fondling a female patients breast “without medical justification”. He was also accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with her without her consent. This lovely abortion doctor was also accused of injecting patients with anesthetics , then engaging in sexual intercourse without the permission of the woman. ( Lovely defender of “reproductive rights, huh?). One woman testified to the medical board that she could not move any muscles during this ordeal, but just kept crying “What are you doing?” Another patient testified that after Okereke examined her vagina that he licked his finger. She said the doctor tried to pay her off to keep her quiet following the incident. Okereke’s Medical License was revoked in November of 1989. (SOURCE: California Medical Board case #11593)

In March of 1993, Abortion doctor Nareshkumar Patel of Shawnee, Oklahoma was accused of Forcible Oral Sodomy and sexual battery by a patient he was treating after hours in his clinic. Patel was also the focus of a controversy in 1992 when several aborted fetuses from his clinic were found partially burned in an open field owned by Patel. Officials could not cite any law that prohibited the burning of aborted fetuses in that manner and those charges were dropped. In 1990 the Florida Medical Board passed a disciplinary action against male abortion clinic nurse Barry A. Hill. Hill was employed at the Today’s Woman Medical Center of Coral Gables, FL , a South Florida abortion clinic chain owned by abortionist: Dr. Vladimar Rosenthal. On October 26, 1989 Florida’s Department of Health and Human Services inspector Diane Robie discovered two envelopes in the abortion clinic containing pictures of several women undressed with their legs apart. According to State Medical Board reports the perineal area was the focal point of the photographer. Hill, the abortion clinic’s anesthetists claimed ownership of the photographs. Former employees of the abortion clinic spoke to the Miami Herald where they stated they saw Hill fondling the breasts of several female patients while they were under anesthesia. The former abortion clinic employees told news reporters that they were fired by clinic owner Rosenthal after he heard them complaining to a National Abortion Federation Representative (the clinic was a member) of the conditions at the clinic and Mr. Hills activities. In 1983 abortion doc Nabil Ghali’s medical license in Kentucky was revoked following his conviction on four counts of unlawful sexual transaction with a minor. (A fourteen year old female neighbor) The victims younger sister also testified she has seen Ghali improperly touching a five year old child. In 1989 while Ghali was operating an abortion clinic in Florida and performing abortions in several other South Florida clinics, the state’s medical board began revocation procedures of his license due to falsification of his license application. Ghali was caught in Florida performing abortions in South Dade County. When Ghali later lost his license in Florida he moved to Ohio and continued to perform abortions. The State of Ohio after learning of Ghali’s history began revocation procedures. In February 1993 the Ohio Medical Board won an appeal upholding Ghali’s license revocation. In addition to Ghali’s sexual conduct he was involved in the death of at least one woman from an abortion procedure in Florida.
