Immediate vs strategic abolition of abortion debate within a debate

Posted in AHA, Pro-Life with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 26, 2015 by saynsumthn

Yesterday Greg Cunningham from the Center for Bioethical Reform debated T. Russell Hunter from Abolish Human Abortion (AHA) on the difference between incremental strategies used by the pro-life movement which also seeks to ban all abortions or simply calling for an immediate end to abortion used by those who take the philosophy of AHA.

I monitored the chat during the debate which was interesting in and of itself. It was run by AHA and they banned two people – one a pro-life person and the other a member of AHA.

The screen grabs below are not necessarily in order and as much as I tried to grab all of it – it was impossible to do. It appeared to me that out of the 150 or so people who tuned in – most were already involved with Abolish Human Abortion, at least by the comments on the chat.

Below are some interesting grabs I took:

Supporters lash out at abortion advocate who suggested baby should have been aborted

Posted in Pro-choice mocking, Pro-choice People with tags , , , , , , , , , on April 13, 2015 by saynsumthn

A pro-choice person on Facebook messaged the mother of a baby born without a nose asking why she did not abort him.

Eli Thompson Baby born without a nose

Brandi McGlathery, the mother of Eli Thompson, born March 4, without any sinus cavities or nasal cavities posted the hateful message to a Facebook page she created for Eli’s supporters.

The message suggested that Brandi should have aborted Eli calling the newborn, Ugly!

The hateful pro-abortion message read, “he’s so ugly don’t you wish you would have had an abortion…give that thing up for adoption.”

Brandi told WKRG that her message was tempered, “That took a lot of maturity to not respond the way that the mom in me wanted to!” she said.

Eli’s supporters responded with outrage:

Eli Thompspn baby born without a nose

What a rude and heartless girl. Eli is beautiful! Every life is a blessing,” one supporter wrote.

OMG, that is so disgusting! Eli is a gorgeous wee man and don’t let anyone tell you any differently,” said another.

Still others were very angry, “Wtf??? Sorry for the language but are you kidding me right now? She is a hateful person how dare her. She’s lucky I don’t know her name I’m in the mood to kick some ass right now! Your son is a precious angel from God!”

“I can’t even fathom a heart that ugly” said another supporter, “I love him so much even though I don’t know him and probably never will. My heart aches for you and him for all the mean, nasty, and mostly just plain ignorant comments you’ll hear. You will always be in my prayers.”

It really makes me sad that some people are that clueless, rude and ignorant. Every child is a miracle from God, regardless of their looks, disability, race etc……Much love and respect to you and your family,” writes another.

Others uploaded copies of messages they sent to the pro-abort in response:

I messaged her and will not repeat here what I wrote!! I just had to get this anger off my chest,” one supporter stated.

Pro-life‬ leader confronts NARAL‬ and ‪‎Planned Parenthood‬ over abortion; banned from public library

Posted in Bryan Kemper, Pro-Life with tags , , , , , , , , , on March 27, 2015 by saynsumthn

“‪Abortion‬ is the killing of innocent children and I will not be silent.

This is the generation that will abolish abortion…You will not promote child killing in my country and do it peacefully.”

Those are the words of pro-life leader, Bryan Kemper director of Stand True Ministries, as he confronted NARAL and Planned Parenthood representatives at an event located inside the Dayton Metro Library.

Kemper said that he cloud not remain silent as baby killing groups like NARAL and Planned Parenthood come into his community to promote the practice of child killing.

The pro-life leader made it clear that the pro-life movement had no intention of making abortions rare, but planned to abolish every single abortion worldwide.

Bryan Kemper Dayton Library

“When Stand True found out about just such a meeting in Dayton, OH, we decided to join the discussion and shine the light of truth. We were joined by individuals from Dayton Right to Life, 40 Days for Life and local pro-life activists,” he posted on his website.

“Right before the meeting started, we all went inside to listen in on the meeting and join in the discussion
,” he said.

Kemper reported that out of about 50 people in the meeting, 20 of whom were pro-life.

Kemper challenged the NARAL and Planned Parenthood representatives to start calling themselves pro-abortion.

“If you do not want to stigmatize abortion, like you said , right? Stop calling yourself pro-choice and start calling yourself pro-abortion,”
Kemper told the abortion leaders.

In any other cause in the world you are… pro ‘that subject’ – why not have the courage to call yourself pro-abortion?”

To which one of the group members replied, “I am.”

According to Kemper, “NARAL tried to stop our live streaming and filming of the meeting, but the Library policy allowed this. One man even tried to block our live stream, but was not successful. In all reality, the meeting should have never taken place in the library, as the policy clearly states that no groups can use it for partisan politics.

“I sat, squirming in my seat, as I listened to lie after lie…

“During the question and answer time, I waited patiently with my hand raised as I was ignored over and over. Finally, they claimed that that were making us wait as punishment for filming the meeting. When I stood up, I let loose. While I was still making my point, I was told to sit down but refused and began to preach the truth.

Kemper said that he was removed from the library by four security guards who escorted him outside to where Dayton Police were arriving.

The Library informed me that they were charging me with “trespassing” and that I would be banned from the Dayton Metro Library for life. I refused to sign their paper and informed them that the meeting was a violation of library policy in the first place,” he said.

Austin, Texas, Sep 22, 2010 / 03:12 am (CNA).- Heroic Media, an Austin, Texas advertising agency dedicated to promoting a pro-life message, is accustomed to controversy. However, even they are surprised at the response to their new campaign, which accuses Planned Parenthood of targeting African-Americans.
Media outlets have banned the ads without explanation.

The advertisements direct viewers to the website www.ppabortsaa.com, short for “Planned Parenthood Aborts African Americans.” There, the agency offers documentation from sources such as the U.S. Census, Center for Disease Control and the Guttmacher Institute, to support the advertisements’ contention that “the most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb.”

Central to Heroic Media’s campaign, is the allegation that Planned Parenthood has placed around 70 percent of its abortion clinics in areas that can be designated as “minority neighborhoods.” A 2005 report by the Cybercast News Service claimed that out of 160 known abortion facilities run by the organization, 100 were located in communities with a higher black population than the state as a whole.

Although the ad campaign does not accuse any current leaders or staff at Planned Parenthood of being motivated by racism, it does note that abortion has reduced the black population by over 25 percent since 1973, making it responsible for more deaths than violent crime, accidents and disease.

Heroic Media – The Most Dangerous place for an …, posted with vodpod

A billboard featuring the “most dangerous place” tagline, along with a silhouette of an African American woman, was rejected in both Dallas and Houston. The prospective client first explained that the billboard was overly “’race’ based.” A representative from the same company denied that this was the motivation, stating that the depiction of the woman was overly explicit.

Another outlet in Texas first approved the billboard but subsequently rejected it, citing its “questionable” content as a violation of their contract with land owners. Outlets in New York and Chicago followed suit, and likewise declined to discuss their reasons.

Representatives from Heroic Media deny that the campaign is either inappropriate or racially inflammatory. Instead, they have expressed concern that companies which refuse to run the ad on billboards or television may not only be looking out for their commercial interests, but possibly “protecting Planned Parenthood.”

“It looks like, from our perspective, they’re trying to protect this one organization, instead of trying to provide information that can help African Americans,” the pro-life agency’s communications director Kimberly Guidry Speirs told Relevant Radio’s Drew Mariani on August 24.

The advertisement was, however, accepted to run on Black Entertainment Television, where it can currently be seen.

WPTZ: Giant Cross Stirs Controversy
Neighbors Want Cross Taken Down

By Jackie Bender

LYNDON, Vt. — Richard Downing and his wife Joan used to light up their 24-foot cross outside of their chapel during holy seasons. The town’s development review board has already limited the number of days it can be lit up, and now officials want the cross taken down entirely.

“They felt that because of aesthetics it did not meet the character of the neighborhood, and so therefore, should not be there at all,” said Municipal Manager Dan Hill of the Act 250 decision.

The Downings are appealing both rulings. They told Newschannel 5 that they are trying to appease neighbors by offering to plant trees around the cross, investing in dimmer lights and blocking out the light on certain sides of the cross. They want the cross to stay standing, and to be lit during Advent, Lent, and Mary’s birthday.

“If it was a commercial thing and just any old sign, that would be fine,” said Richard Downing, “But this is a cross. It’s an integral part of any Catholic church. I’ve never seen a Catholic church that didn’t have a cross on it.”

Neighbors and town officials said the objection is not religious, and mostly concerns the lighting. But the Downings said the rulings have become an obstacle to their religious practices.

“We just think that they’re infringing on our rights to practice our religion, and I think that they’ve gone a little too far in this case,” Downing said.

A court ruling on the cross is expected in November.

What is net neutrality? What is unbiased Journalism?

The Washington Post has reported :

WASHINGTON POST: Rulers of the Internet

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

What is net neutrality?

Net neutrality is a concept that all services and content on the Internet should be treated equally. Proposed new rules would seek to prevent Internet service providers from acting as gatekeepers.

Examples of how Internet service providers and wireless phone providers have allegedly acted as gatekeepers of services:

— Comcast allegedly blocked a video-and-music sharing site called BitTorrent.

— Verizon Wireless allegedly rejected a text messaging program from NARAL Pro-Choice America, an abortion-rights group. The program would have allowed people to sign up for text messages from NARAL.

— The FCC is examining whether AT&T and Apple deliberately blocked Google’s voice application for the iPhone. Google Voice gives users one phone number that they can connect to their home, office and mobile phones.

— Skype has complained that many wireless service providers have rejected its Internet voice service. For example, iPhone users can’t connect to the 3G network and use Skype; they must also be linked to the Web through a WiFi connection.

NEWSFLASH – Washington Post:

YouTube has been censoring pro-life videos for a while and I do not see them in your list above.

To name one instance – YouTube censored the Undercover Videos of Lila Rose and yes, James O’Keefe ( ACORN Film maker) who proved that the Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider, Planed Parenthood, who sucks over $1 Millions Dollars PER DAY and $350 Millions Dollars PER YEAR from the taxpayer, is covering for statutory rape and possible sexual abuse of minors.

According to Lila’s Live Action Films, “YouTube has unfairly censored two Live Action videos in what appears to be an act of discrimination against our viewpoint. We have carefully laid out the case below why each video that was removed was wrongly banned. We hope you read this and join us in action against this bias.”

Live Action Petition to YouTube:

Dear YouTube:

We are concerned that YouTube staff is censoring videos based on ideology, despite YouTube’s claim to uphold fair standards.

The following links provide the background and case why YouTube should restore our videos:

The Case Against YouTube’s Removal of Live Action’s “Alabama Investigative Video
http://liveaction.org/index.php/projects/youtube/83

The Case Against YouTube’s Removal of Live Action’s “Planned Parenthood Counseling Lie
http://liveaction.org/index.php/projects/youtube/84

We ask that YouTube will restore their customer’s trust and live up to its own rules by doing the following:

1. Promptly reinstate both banned videos

2. Remove the “strike” against the account “liveactionfilms”

3. Assure Live Action and the YouTube’s community that YouTube is
truly opposed to ideological censorship and is taking steps to prevent this from happening again.

4. Provide Live Action with an email and phone contact representative at YouTube to ensure that any potential future issues are resolved promptly

Sincerely,
-The Undersigned

In one of the Video’s, Live Action gave this timeline:

HISTORY
June 30th, 2009: Live Action uploads the “Alabama Investigative Video
July 8th, 2009: YouTube notifies Live Action via email that they are going to remove our video within 48 hours if we do not remove it.
July 9th, 2009: Live Action replies to the YouTube email saying that “...we are requesting for you to let us know exactly where in our video we violate the privacy of an individual.” (see full email)
July 10th, 2009: YouTube removes the “Alabama Investigative Video”
July 22nd, 2009: YouTube still has not responded to Live Action over this matter.

YOUTUBE’S STANDARD

YouTube does not permit video that shows the identifiable face or full name of an individual per their policy listed below. We have uploaded many investigative videos (that are still live) where we have obscured the face and disclosed only the clinic workers last name. In all of these cases, YouTube has allowed these videos to remain live.

WHY THE VIDEO MEETS YOUTUBE’S STANDARD

We did not disclose audio or video that “uniquly identifies” the person in the video. We did not show any identifiable images, in fact, our video showed no images of any persons that did not give consent to be in the video. The audio in the video does not by voice or content of the voice, uniquly identifiy the person involved. Finally, no full names were disclosed, only first names as was consistent with our pervious (and still live) videos which have received hundreds of thousands of views without removal.

BE PART OF THE SOLUTION!

Contact YouTube and ask them why the “LiveActionFilms” video was removed.
