Planned Parenthood dominates abortion market in Arizona while losing patients overall

Posted in FQHC, Planned Parenthood state stats with tags , , , on August 1, 2017 by saynsumthn

In Arizona, Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion market but has experienced a substantial decrease in patients. Between 2007 and 2016 patient visits dropped at Planned Parenthood by more than 46 percent.  This indicates that in Arizona, as across the nation, women are not choosing Planned Parenthood in the numbers they have in the past. Patient visits to Planned Parenthood of Arizona have plummeted from 61,722 in 2007 to just 33,181 in 2016, according to a media statement from Jodi Liggett, vice president of public affairs.

Planned Parenthood Arizona 2015 annual report abortions

Despite the falling numbers, an analysis from a local media outlet determined that about 17.27 percent of patients and 11 percent of all visits were for abortion services in Arizona.  But, Data compiled by the Arizona Department of Health Services reveals that statewide, Planned Parenthood’s market share of abortion reached 53 percent in 2015.  According to Planned Parenthood of Arizona’s 2015-2016 annual report, they committed 6,667 out of the 12,655 abortions performed in the state.

This does not come as a surprise. Live Action News has reported multiple times that in state after state, Planned Parenthood is garnering a larger and larger share of the abortion market while increasing government funding.

Nationally, Planned Parenthood’s patients, as well as services in areas such as contraception, Pap tests, cancer screenings, and breast exams, have all decreased while government funding and abortions continue to rise. Opponents of forced tax payer funding of Planned Parenthood say that this is a good reason to shift the over $540 million tax dollars which Congress has handed out to Planned Parenthood annually to more worthy places such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC).

While Planned Parenthood operates just nine facilities across Arizona, there are 23 Rural Health Clinics in the state, and 21 Federally Qualified Health Centers provide services at 149 sites, offering more extensive health care services for women, according to the Rural Health Information Hub.

But, Planned Parenthood’s supporters argue that federal and state tax dollars should continue to flow to the abortion corporation because they are the only ones that can provide “contraception services.”

Not so fast.

An analysis conducted by Planned Parenthood’s former “special affiliate,” the Guttmacher Institute, compared Federally Qualified Health Center sites (FQHC) to Planned Parenthood centers in areas that offered publicly funded contraception care and found that in 2015:

  • 3 of 15 counties in Arizona which had centers that provided publicly funded contraception care had at least one Planned Parenthood.
  • 14 counties in Arizona had at least one FQHC site that provided contraception services.
  • There were no Planned Parenthood centers located in 12 Arizona counties.
  • Planned Parenthood served fewer contraception clients than FQHC sites in 2 of the 3 Arizona counties where they had a Planned Parenthood facility.
  • Just over 5 percent (12 out 232) of publicly funded family planning centers in Arizona were operated by Planned Parenthood which served just 28 percent of contraception clients while FQHC sites served 37 percent.

And while Planned Parenthood’s patients have been decreasing over the years, patients visiting federal health centers in Arizona increased from 356,094 in 2008 to 500,940 in 2015.

Recently, Live Action documented the lack of care Planned Parenthood gives to pregnant women who want to keep their children. Live Action’s prenatal care video (watch below) featured comments from multiple Planned Parenthood employees stating they do NOT provide prenatal care, despite the organization’s CEO, Cecile Richards, misleading the public to believe that prenatal care is one of their most important services.

The Tempe, Arizona Planned Parenthood center is one of the centers Live Action called during the undercover investigation. When the caller asked to “make an appointment for prenatal care” the Planned Parenthood staffer responded:

We don’t have prenatal care here. Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don’t offer prenatal care.

Shortly after the release of the undercover video, Planned Parenthood began purging their websites of the term “prenatal.” Then, Live Action News, exposed biased Arizona media reporting on the topic.  Arizona’s media, as well as national media outlets, have failed to call out or question Planned Parenthood, which masquerades as a “health center” so they can continue to receive half a billion in federal tax dollars a year and end the lives of 900 preborn children every day.

But, the truth is hard to suppress and it is reaching the ear of Congress and the ear of the American public. If the drop in patients is any indicator, Planned Parenthood’s continued dedication to abortion is starting to have a real impact on the organization.

It’s no wonder, with so many patients abandoning Planned Parenthood, that they fight so hard to keep those government dollars.

The luncheon takes place Friday, April 10, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Orange is the New Black is a Netflix original series and will enter their third season in 2015.

Last year Bustle reported that OITNB stars Natasha Lyonne and Selenis Leyva, known as Nicky Nichols and Gloria Mendoza on the show, designed a shirt as part of Planned Parenthood’s celebrity tee series. The shirts were created to promote Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s 2014 Women Are Watching movement.

Planned Parenthood of Arizona advertises that they offer abortion services. A Planned Parenthood of Arizona affiliate in Temp has been under fire recently for failing to report the sexual assault of a teen that came to their facility.

According to reports, the Tempe Planned Parenthood counselor told the alleged victim and her mother at an abortion consultation that it “wasn’t worth the hassle” to report that the minor had been raped. After that, the rapist, Tyler Kost, allegedly committed additional offenses against other young females.

I guess, failing to report the rape of a child, which lead to more rape is not on Selenis Leyva’s Women Are Watching list of reasons to reject her invitation to speak at Planned Parenthood.

On Thursday, May 8, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles announced his filing of a 27-count indictment accusing of sexually related charges against Tyler Kost, 18, of San Tan Valley, according to a news release issued by the PCAO.

Tyler Kost Indictment

The day before, the Pinal County Grand Jury returned a True Bill and Mr. Voyles filed an indictment alleging criminal incidents from October 2009 through April 2014 that involved 11 victims, ranging from 12 to 17 years in age.

According to the indictment Kost is accused of:

•three counts sexual abuse with a minor, under the age of 15,
•six counts sexual conduct with a minor, under the age of 15,
•one counts child molestation, a child under 15,
•seven counts sexual assault with a minor, 15 or older,
•seven counts sexual abuse with a minor, 15 or older and
•three counts sexual conduct with a minor, 15 or older.

If the defendant were found guilty on all 27 counts, he would face a sentencing exposure between 147 years and up to 335.75 years in prison, according to the county attorney’s office.

What is also making headlines in this case is news that a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic worker in Arizona failed to report the rape of one of their patients, allegedly linked to this case.

Media reports say that a girl who says she became pregnant after Kost raped her last year visited a Planned Parenthood clinic with her mother on New Year’s Eve.

According to the police incident report, obtained by Life Dynamics and Life Talk News, the victim was 15 years old at the time of the alleged assault. According to the report, the person who accompanied the victim to Planned Parenthood told the counselor about the sexual assault during the visit.
The PCSO report states.

“[Redacted] became pregnant. She accompanied [Redacted] to her ultrasound on 12/31/13 and 01/04/14. These appointments were at the Planned Parenthood in [Redacted].

“[Redacted] disclosed the assault to a counselor at Planned Parenthood. The counselor intentionally miscoded the assault as a consensual encounter. The counselor told them that they did not want the hassle of having to report the assault to law enforcement as they were a mandatory reporter.”

According to the AZCentral, If Planned Parenthood workers had reported the alleged assault in December, it could have jump-started a sheriff’s investigation…Reporting such assaults is required for Planned Parenthood, and a sheriff’s spokesman said investigators had shared the alleged failure to report with Planned Parenthood administrators and Arizona Department of Health Services officials…The pregnant teenager reportedly visited the clinic on Dec. 31 and again four days later.

How is the abortion giant responding to this criticism, they told KGUN9, “If a patient says she was sexually assaulted or displays signs of assault, our staff is required to report it immediately to law enforcement officials. We have a zero tolerance for staff failing to meet our standards and policies.

But….does Planned Parenthood take this lightly?

This Planned Parenthood in Flagstaff, Az told a caller posing as a 13 year old child impregnated by a 22 year old adult man that they don’t have to tell anybody:

TAPE – 576

(dialing sounds) (ringing 2X)

CLINIC: Flagstaff Planned Parenthood. This is Melody.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering, do you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: Yes. We do have clinics every once in awhile.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you know — like I’m just worried because my friend — well I’ll be 14 next month.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: And my friend said that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he — is he old enough to take care of it and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: Well, we don’t have to inform your parents, no.

CLINIC: We’re not required to at this time.

CLINIC: When was the first day of your last menstrual period?

CALLER: December 26.

CLINIC: Well, let’s see here. Hold on one second. I’ll be right with you.

CLINIC: Okay. Actually — well, we do have a clinic that’s going to be coming up on the 8th.

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: We do — are you coming in from out of town?

CALLER: Well, no.

CLINIC: Are you here locally?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

Listen to call here

And here an Arizona Planned Parenthood tells the caller it is okay for her 22yr old boyfriend to pay for “everything”

This Phoenix, Arizona Planned Parenthood tells the same caller that she is technically not a patient if all she comes in for is a pregnancy test….therefore even though the caller is telling them she is possibly pregnant by a 22 year old man, just coming for a pregnancy test- they would not have to report it.

CALLER: Okay. So you wouldn’t have to tell anybody about a pregnancy test?

CLINIC: Yeah, if you just come in as a, just doing a pregnancy test and you’re not an actual Planned Parenthood patient, we would not have to report it. Once you become a Planned Parenthood patient, if you’re seen by the clinician then we would have to report it.

The caller than asks Planned Parenthood if it would be better to not saying anything about the age of her boyfriend. Their response, “That’s up to you.”

At this Arizona Planned Parenthood they actually suggest that the caller (posing as a 13 year old child) wait a few months until she is 14 to have the test or abortion so they won’t have to report that her boyfriend is 22…They even tell her that her 22 year old boyfriend can come in with her for the pregnancy test and he won’t get into trouble because there will not be a report.

TAPE – 555

CLINIC: We just have to report anybody that’s 13 or younger that is having sex. And then if they get like a list of, you know, calls from different agencies, or whatever, then they might look into it kind of thing. But they want to kind of monitor, you know, cases that may be abuse. So that’s how they kind of — they put it on the computer. They say, okay. They never, in this office, have ever wanted to talk or came to see them or anything like that. But there’s nothing concerning your — like your parents, there’s no minor consent laws in Arizona. So your parents don’t have to know about it.

CALLER: Oh. Well, my boyfriend said that he was going to pay for everything. Would they have to know about him?

CLINIC: Well, how old is he?

CLINIC: They make take his information too because —

CALLER: Well, could he get in trouble?

CALLER: Could he get in trouble?

CLINIC: I don’t know, sweetie. We have to report certain age differences.

CLINIC: But it’s really a matter — I’m not sure what the laws are as far as what they — you know, try and prosecute or if they try and not prosecute. It’s not like your parents are trying to or you are trying to bring up charges to him. If it was consensual I don’t know where they draw the line and investigate or not.

CLINIC: You know what I mean?

CALLER: Okay. Yeah. Well, it’s just, the thing is I don’t really know if I am pregnant because I’m just worried because I haven’t had my period since like December 21st. And I don’t know. Could I come in there for a pregnancy test and see?

CLINIC: Sure, hon. You can go to any Planned Parenthood and walk in it at their walk-in appointments. And they’re $10.

CALLER: Oh. Well, if my boyfriend comes in with me — because like he was going to pay for it — would he get, would we get in trouble for —

CLINIC: Oh, no, not for a pregnancy test at all.

CALLER: Oh. Well, would you have to report it?

CLINIC: Not just for a pregnancy test.
CALLER: Oh. Well, if the pregnancy test came out negative could I get birth control?

CLINIC: You sure can.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody about that?

CLINIC: I’m not sure. You may want to wait until you’re 14, and then they don’t have to report that.

CALLER: Oh. All right.

CLINIC: You turn 14 in March, right?

These calls are from a 2002 child predator investigation, in which the pro-life organization, Life Dynamics called over 800 Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Federation facilities across the nation.

The caller portrayed a 13-year-old girl who was pregnant by her 22-year-old boyfriend. Her story was that she wanted an abortion because she and her boyfriend did not want her parents to find out about the sexual relationship. In every call the age of the girl and her boyfriend were made perfectly clear. It was also made clear that the motivation for the abortion was to conceal this illicit sexual activity from the girl’s parents and the authorities. Additionally, the caller never said a single thing that might suggest that her parents would become abusive if they discovered her sexual activity.

Even though many of these clinics openly acknowledged to the caller that this situation was illegal and they were required to report it to the state, the overwhelming majority readily agreed to conceal this illegal activity. (Listen to actual audio tapes of the calls here)

Of course, there have been several real life cases where Planned Parenthood has failed to report the rape or sexual assault of one of their patients, many leading to the child being returned to the predator for more sexual abuse.

In addition, Planned Parenthood employees have been accused of sex crimes – read here.

But – they- they have a ZERO TOLERANCE , right? NOT!

Pro-life group warns authorities to monitor activities of Planned Parenthood in Flagstaff

After more than two years without providing abortions, Planned Parenthood in Flagstaff Arizona has announced they will be performing abortions at their offices located on Woodlands Village Blvd in Flagstaff.

Planned Parenthood stopped the abortions at clinics in Flagstaff, Yuma and Prescott Valley in 2011 after the Legislature specified that only licensed physicians – not a physician’s assistant — could provide the abortion pill services and had to meet face to face with patients 24 hours prior to dispensing the pills. A physician has only recently been found in Flagstaff who is available to meet with patients and administer the pills.

Life Dynamics, Inc., a national pro-life organization located in Denton is concerned over the decision after Life Dynamics caught another Planned Parenthood in the same city covering for the sexual abuse of children.

In an undercover investigation from 2002, Life Dynamics caught Planned Parenthood on Riordan Ranch Street in Flagstaff covering for the sexual abuse of children.

Mark Crutcher2013

Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics, Inc. says that he finds the news troubling given this organization’s history of protecting pedophiles, “The question now is will the authorities in Arizona be watching this Planned Parenthood to prevent them from doing the same thing.”

In the previous investigation, Life Dynamics called over 800 Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Federation facilities across the nation. The caller portrayed a 13-year-old child impregnated by her 22-year-old adult male boyfriend. Her story to these clinics was that she wanted an abortion because she did not want her parents to discover their sexual relationship.

In 2002, Planned Parenthood on Riordan Ranch Street in Flagstaff, told Life Dynamics’ caller, that the pedophile could come in and pay for her pregnancy test.

Planned Parenthood also assured the caller that they would not have to tell anyone.

A partial transcript of the call is as follows:

CALLER: Hi.

She later asks:

CALLER: Okay. Well, would you have to tell anybody that I was getting a pregnancy test though?

CALLER: Oh. Well, my boyfriend and I were talking about all this, and he said that he would pay for everything.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Would that be all right?

CLINIC: If he comes in and pays for it, yeah.

CALLER: Okay. It’s just, we were not wanting anyone to know all about us. Would he have to sign any papers if he was paying for it?

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Uh-uh.

Full Transcript and audio of the call here

It is alarming to note that, after previously establishing with Planned Parenthood that her boyfriend was 22, the caller asks, “Oh. Well, my boyfriend and I were talking about all this, and he said he would pay for everything…Would that be alright?”

That Planned Parenthood answers, “If he comes in and pays for it, yeah.”

Child Predator Planned Parenthood CP2

Crutcher says, “The abortion lobby is engaged in a pedophile protection racket and protecting pedophiles who rape underage girls. These abortion clinics receive money from the federal government. We are literally paying for the rape of our young daughters.”

According to Crutcher, “this is the largest criminal conspiracy in American history.”

Life Dynamics has contacted over 53,000 personal injury attorneys to educate them about the pedophile protection racket being covered up inside these clinics.

Crutcher and his team have also produced a powerful commercial to notify parents as well as the victims of child sexual abuse that they could be eligible to sue clinics who fail to report child sexual abuse.

Life Dynamics encourages the citizens of Flagstaff to contact their local authorities to be certain the actions of this Planned Parenthood are watched closely.

REALLY – You are asking for “PRAYERS?” and you are for the FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY? Look at whact you are doing to that future?

Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, was a member in good standing with the racist American Eugenics Society. Sanger had board members who were known for their racist writing and Sanger published many of those in her publications. Sanger called for parents to have a QUOTE: LICENSE TO BREED controlled by people who believed in her eugenic philosophy. She wanted all would be parents to go before her eugenic boards to request a “PERMIT TO BREED“.

Margaret Sanger once said, “More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

In Margaret Sanger’s, “Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Feb 1919. Birth Control Review , Library of Congress Microfilm 131:0099B .
Sanger states, “Before eugenists and others who are laboring for racial betterment can succeed, they must first clear the way for Birth Control. Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit. Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods.

Eugenists emphasize the mating of healthy couples for the conscious purpose of producing healthy children, the sterilization of the unfit to prevent their populating the world with their kind and they may, perhaps, agree with us that contraception is a necessary measure among the masses of the workers, where wages do not keep pace with the growth of the family and its necessities in the way of food, clothing, housing, medical attention, education and the like.

We who advocate Birth Control, on the other hand, lay all our emphasis upon stopping not only the reproduction of the unfit but upon stopping all reproduction when there is not economic means of providing proper care for those who are born in health. While I personally believe in the sterilization of the feeble-minded, the insane and syphilitic, I have not been able to discover that these measures are more than superficial deterrents when applied to the constantly growing stream of the unfitEugenics without Birth Control seems to us a house builded upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit…

Sanger also called for those who were poor and what she considered to be “morons and immoral‘ , to be shipped to colonies where they would live in “Farms and Open Spaces” dedicated to brainwashing these so-called “inferior types” into having what Sanger called, “Better moral conduct”.

I consider that the world and almost our civilization for the next twenty-five years, is going to depend upon a simple, cheap, safe contraceptive to be used in poverty stricken slums, jungles, and among the most ignorant people. Even this will not be sufficient, because I believe that now, immediately, there should be national sterilization for certain dysgenic types of our population who are being encouraged to breed and would die out were the government not feeding them.
Planned Parenthood Founder, Margaret Sanger, 1950

In addition, Planned Parenthood’s top award is called the Margaret Sanger Award, despite the fact that Sanger was an admitted Klan speaker. This is what Sanger wrote in her autobiography, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366 Read it here

Do Race Based Abortions Happen?, posted with vodpod

The debate of abortion being used as a tool of Black Genocide is as old as abortion. In fact, Jesse Jackson made this statement in 1971, “Contraceptives will become a form of drug warfare against the helpless in this nation.” and in that same year Black Panther activist, Brenda Hyson printed this in their New York newsletter a state which had already legalized abortion, “The abortion law, hides behind the guise of helping women, when in reality it will attempt to destroy our people.”

Then in 1977, Jackson again lashed out that, “It is strange that they choose to start talking about population control at the same time that Black people in America and people of color around the world are demanding their rightful place as human citizens and their rightful share of the material wealth in the world.”

Blacks throughout the years have been very suspicious of birth control clinics and Planned Parenthood centers in their neighborhoods which would be used to exterminate the Black Population: Some Examples:

1971 Contraceptives will become a form of drug warfare against the helpless in this nation.” Jesse Jackson, 1971

1971 Proponents…have argued this bill is for blacks and the poor who want abortions and can’t afford one. This is the phoniest and most preposterous argument of all. Because I represent the inner-city where the majority of blacks and poor live and I challenge anyone here to show me a waiting line of either blacks or poor whites who are wanting an abortion.Iowa State Rep. Today 5 BLACK babies to every 1 White baby will die inside American Abortion Clinics. Is there a targeting going on? Find out: Maafa21:

Recently, Tom Metzger, the former Klan leader promoted the placement of abortion clinics in Black Neighborhoods, …abortion and birth control should be promoted as a powerful weapon, in the limitation of non-White birth.” and Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger admitted in her autobiography that she, in fact, gave speeches to the KLAN She was so liked by them, that she was invited at least a dozen times to speak to them.

In 2009, an abortion patient in Michigan claimed that she was forced by the doctor to abort because she was Black. According to the Flint Journal, the patient, Catelin Bruce says she wrestled with her decision to have the abortion while in the clinic’s waiting room.

They started the ultrasound. The lady turned the ultrasound toward me and said, ‘This is your baby. This is the heart flicker,’” Bruce said.

Bruce says that’s when she changed her mind. But she claims Dr. Abraham Hodari did the procedure anyway.

He told his assistant, ‘Hold her down.’ They had my arm pinned,” Bruce said.

His weight was all on my chest and then he took his hand and he had it so tight on my mouth that it was muffled. I was trying to scream, ‘Stop!‘

I was screaming. I was crying. It felt like they were ripping a life out of me. When he was done, he looked at me. He gave me a smirk and he left he room.“

“I wanted it to stop, but it didn’t. I wanted a child, but I didn’t have one,” said Caitlin Bruce, now 20.

Hodari and his lawyer maintain he was well into the procedure when she expressed misgivings, and he had to continue for her safety.
Both Hodari and Bruce have witnesses to support their claims.

A written statement reportedly provided by another worker in Hodari’s office and contained in the lawsuit, claims that the doctor told an upset Bruce “I’m not going to do this. I’m going to send you home” before going through with the abortion.

Included in the suit are 6 counts against Hodari, including lack of informed consent/medical malpractice, battery, fraud, misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and ethnic/gender intimidation.
Michigan has a statute that forbids intimidation based on gender or ethnicity. Ms. Bruce believes that Hodari forced the abortion on her because she is Black. Statistics show that the abortion industry disproportionately targets Black women.

Katelyn Kampf escaped Friday at a Salem shopping center and called police, who arrested her parents, Nicholas Kampf, 54, and Lola, 53, both real estate developers from North Yarmouth, Maine.

This story led to this hate filled racist video being placed on YouTube , which indicates that racists would want this bi-racial baby killed:

As a result – it wasn’t the so-called pro-choice community which denounced this – it was pro-lifers.

In April of 2010, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that it was about four years ago, Alexandria said, when she tearfully walked into an Augusta abortion clinic.
She was a 14-year-old ninth-grader at the time.

She said her mother and grandmother were furious that she was pregnant and demanded that she get an abortion.
And there was something else.

They pressured me into an abortion because my baby was biracial and my grandma didn’t agree with me having a black boyfriend,” Alexandria said in an interview. “I had the abortion, because they said they were gonna kick me out. I didn’t have a choice. I had no place to go.”

Susan Swanson, director of the Augusta Care Pregnancy Center — a Christian-based agency that advises women against abortions — said she has met hundreds of girls who have come to her after being forced and threatened to get an abortion.

“I had one girl, six months back, who committed suicide after being forced to get an abortion,” Swanson said. “Our abortion clinics are not giving these girls true options.”
Swanson said when Alexandria went in to get her abortion, it was at a Planned Parenthood clinic across the street from her office.

It is not like Planned Parenthood gave me any options,” Alexandria said. “They patted me on my back and told me that I was doing the right thing.

Swanson, who brought Alexandria to Atlanta to testify before the House panel, contends that more so than individuals, abortion clinics are the main culprits in the coercion of women and girls.

Four years after her abortion, Alexandria is a changed person. She said the situation spun her into a depression. She never finished high school, and she lost a second baby to a miscarriage.

I begged my momma not to make me get an abortion,” Alexandria said. “I feel like, I took an innocent life, but God forgives you for your sins. I am OK now that I have gotten to talk to people about it. It is a lot easier for me to share my story, knowing that I am helping other guys.”

In about a month, Alexandria will have a new story to tell. She is now eight months pregnant and living with her current boyfriend.

The baby girl will be biracial.

During a town hall meeting today, that will air tomorrow on ABC’s “This Week with Christiane Amanpour,” a survivor of last Saturday’s massacre in Tucson was arrested for making death threats against a Tea Party spokesman.

Eric Fuller, a disabled veteran who was shot in the knee and who has been making the media rounds — is charged with making threats, intimidation, and disorderly conduct.

During the ABC event, Fuller took a picture of the Tucson Tea Party spokesperson Trent Humphries with his cell phone and said, “You’re Dead.” Deputies immediately escorted Fuller from the room.’s story on the event, which you can read here, describes the incident this way:

It is unclear whether Humphries heard Fuller and the two never engaged. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Fuller used a cell phone to take a picture of Humphries and allegedly said, “You’re dead.”

Fifteen seconds after the conclusion of the town hall, law enforcement officials approached Fuller and led him to a side entrance. A moment later, Fuller could heard yelling, “What’s the matter–with you–whores!” Fuller was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening and intimidation and taken to a local mental health facility, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette: State Representative Terri Proud, a Republican, was sitting two rows behind Mr. Fuller. The topic of gun control had come up in the forum, she said, and a comment was made by one of the speakers about a bill introduced recently in Arizona that would allow faculty members on college campuses with concealed weapons permits to carry guns.

Ms. Proud said she spoke up to clarify the bill’s language. At that point, Trent Humphries, the founder of the Tucson Tea Party, who was sitting one row behind her, rose to speak and suggested that discussion about gun legislation be postponed until after the funerals. He started to say that he, too, had been affected by the tragedy, explaining that a neighbor had been a victim.

At that point, Ms. Proud said, Mr. Fuller blurted out to Mr. Humphries, “You’re dead.”

Mr. Fuller then began to “behave in a very odd manner,” she said. “He was making inappropriate comments.”

After the forum wrapped up, Ms. Proud said she went to one of the police officers providing security at the event and asked him if he would file a report about the comment to Mr. Humphries. The officer told her they were already investigating it.

About five police officers surrounded Mr. Fuller and escorted him from the event. As he was leaving, Ms. Proud said, he turned and yelled, “You’re all whores.”

Mr. Fuller got into a confrontation shortly before the Jan. 8 attack, which occurred at a meeting between Ms. Gifford and her constituents in front of a Safeway supermarket. Mr. Fuller said in an interview this week that he argued with a man he described as a former Marine after a heated discussion over politics. Gabriel Zimmerman, an aide to Ms. Giffords, separated the two. Mr. Zimmerman was killed in the attack.

Mr. Fuller spoke dismissively of Republicans during the interview. “They appeal to simple-minded rednecks,” he said

Speaking of Jared L. Loughner, who is accused of being the gunman, he said: “Saying anything about him would be a waste of breath. Recognizing his existence is a waste. I don’t like his face.”

Mr. Fuller said he had trouble sleeping on the night of the shooting and had calmed himself by writing down the Declaration of Independence, which he memorized three decades earlier.

In the days after the shooting, his anger at the right seemed especially strong. In an interview, he repeatedly denounced the “Tea Party crime syndicate” and place some of the blame for the shooting on Sarah Palin and other Republican leaders who he said contributed to a toxic atmosphere.

Mr. Fuller used to drive a limousine, but in recent years, he said, he got by working various odd jobs, including collecting signatures for political campaigns.

He said he went to see Ms. Giffords to “protect her from the Tea Party crime syndicate.” He said he had planned “to shout them down, because I can make a lot of noise.”

Mr. Fuller said that he still has flashes of anger.
