Past Live Action investigations and court cases have demonstrated Planned Parenthood‘s willingness to cover for child sexual predators and abusers, even returning victims to their abusers and failing to report underage pregnancies or suspected sexual abuse to authorities. This taxpayer-funded organization, receiving half a billion dollars in these funds annually, should be called to account, especially in a society so aware of sexual assault. So, why is Planned Parenthood’s corruption in this area being silenced by politicians, media and Hollywood alike?

It is possible that these Planned Parenthood-friendly groups know but choose to say nothing, because, like the New York Times recently discovered with Harvey Weinstein, Planned Parenthood has a network of complicit “bodyguards,” so to speak, protecting the organization from damaging scrutiny.

And yet, grueling testimonies and police reports of actual criminal cases in which Planned Parenthood patients, victimized by sexual abuse and rape and then taken for abortions, are available to read at Live Action News (herehere, and here).

Planned Parenthood-covers child sexual abuse

The media has repeatedly been caught in Planned Parenthood’s web of lies — though willingly, it seems, as many pro-choice “journalists” allow their support of abortion to keep them from doing real investigative reporting. Even in the face of proof, Planned Parenthood’s media complicity machine remains quiet, resulting in sexual abuse victims being forgotten.

In one example, physician and HLN host Dr. Drew Pinsky, a former employee of Planned Parenthood, came to Planned Parenthood’s defense when pro-lifers made allegations that the abortion corporation covered up child sexual abuse. Rather than do his own investigation, Dr. Drew lashed out at Alliance Defending Freedom’s (ADF) Director of Alliance Relations. Watch the exchange in the video below, where ADF includes the very “evidence” Dr. Drew failed to find on his own:

Dr. Drew admitted on his show that he worked for Planned Parenthood… hardly a non-biased reporting source. He said, “I was there. We were working for Planned Parenthood to create an environment where young women could feel safe….”

Safe? I don’t think so, Dr. Drew!

The complicit media machine

Planned Parenthood regularly rewards the media complicity machine by “honoring” them with the “Media Excellence” and “Maggie Awards.”

1. Irin Carmon – national reporter and Planned Parenthood awardee

Carmon is one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Media and was a national reporter at MSNBC and NBC News. Yet, this “journalist” was recently highlighted at a Planned Parenthood event and has been awarded by the abortion corporation. To date, she has failed to report the way Planned Parenthood covers for child sexual predators.

2015 Planned Parenthood Maggie Award to media

And she is not alone.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America bestowed Media Excellence Awards to 13 journalists during its 2016 National Conference Gala. Such as…

2. Amy Goodman – executive producer and Planned Parenthood awardee

Goodman, executive producer of Democracy NOW, received the “highest honor” from Planned Parenthood, according to Katie Yoder at NewsBusters.

Goodman, who regularly defends Planned Parenthood, has never spoken out about the organization’s covering of sexual assault crimes.

3. Michelle Goldberg – columnist and Planned Parenthood board member

Michelle Goldberg became an Op-Ed columnist for The New York Times in 2017. Previously, she was a columnist at Slate, and a radio and TV commentator appearing in The New Yorker, Newsweek, The Nation, The New Republic, The Guardian and other publications. She was also a keynote speaker for Planned Parenthood, attended several other Planned Parenthood events, and sat on the board of Southwest & Central Florida Planned Parenthood. No bias here, huh?

Rather than stand with sexual assault victims and expose Planned Parenthood, Goldberg defends them.

4. Linda Greenhouse – Pulitzer prize winner and Planned Parenthood keynote speaker

Greenhouse is a New York Times journalist who has also keynoted for Planned Parenthood Houston.

Linda Greenhouse keynote for Planned Parenthood

According to a report by the Washington Post, Greenhouse wrote in her book “Just a Journalist: On the Press, Life and the Spaces Between,” that she regularly donates to Planned Parenthood and wasn’t content to just allow Planned Parenthood to deduct a monthly contribution from her bank account:

It was important to me to write a check every month and sign my name. It was the signature of a citizen. The stories that appeared under my byline, on abortion and all other subjects, were the work of a journalist. If anyone ever thought those failed to measure up to professional standards, they never told me or anyone else.

One look at Greenhouse’s writings should tell you all you need to know about whether her pro-abortion ideology informs her journalism.

5. Anna Quindlen – Pulitzer prize winner and Planned Parenthood Federation of America board member

Quindlen is a former columnist at The New York Times who won the Pulitzer Prize for journalism. She recently attended PP’s 100th gala and sits on the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Board. Need I say more?

To date, Ross and Markstrom have yet to call out Planned Parenthood’s real naughty deeds.

9. Dee Dee Myers – political analyst, editor, and Planned Parenthood keynote speaker

Myers was the keynote speaker at a Florida Planned Parenthood event. According to HuffPo, Myers is a political analyst, commentator and contributing editor to Vanity Fair, and lecturer on politics. After leaving her position as White House Press Secretary under President Clinton, Myers took a spot on CNBC political talk show, “Equal Time.” She brags that her work has appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times, Time Magazine, O, the Oprah Magazine, the Washington Post, Politico and the Los Angeles Times.

Interestingly, none of that “work” includes any real serious investigations into Planned Parenthood.

10. Cynthia Tucker – Pulitzer prize winner, editor, and Planned Parenthood awardee

Tucker describes herself as a “veteran newspaper journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner and a highly-regarded commentator on TV and radio news shows.” Tucker was also editorial page editor of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper for 17 years and is a Planned Parenthood Maggie Award recipient. In 2014, Tucker, along with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Glamour Magazine, was “honored” by Planned Parenthood.

And none of them have spoken out about any of Planned Parenthood’s scandals other than to defend them.

The list goes on and on.

Media elites are more eager to prop up Planned Parenthood than courageously take the side of young sexual abuse victims to expose Planned Parenthood. We can only hope that one day, light will shine on Planned Parenthood and the media complicity machine that protects them.

Pro-life cease and desist letter demands Planned Parenthood prez apologize and retract accusations of violence

Posted in Cecile Richards, Operation Rescue, Planned Parenthood sells aborted baby parts with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 6, 2015 by saynsumthn

The national pro-life group, Operation Rescue said that “Cease and Desist letters” are going out to Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards and ABC News on behalf of their president Troy Newman seeking an apology and retraction of, “false, defaming statements made by Richards during an interview that aired on the July 26 edition of This Week with George Stephanopoulus.

Cecile Richards George STeph Planned Parenthood

According to the group, Richards attacked Newman and wrongly accused him of being “behind” acts of violence, including “the bombing of clinics, the murder of doctors in their homes, and in their churches.”

troy newman

“I cannot stand by while Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards and ABC News air false allegations against me that are now being repeated as fact in numerous news sources. I have never condoned violence against abortion providers or businesses and Richards’ patently false statements against me must be retracted,” said Newman.

Below is the ABC interview with Cecile Richards:

A press release from Operation Rescue states:

Operation Rescue began as a peaceful protest movement that engaged in non-violent civil disobedience at abortion facilities. Since then, under Newman’s leadership, Operation Rescue has evolved into a well-respected watchdog group that focuses on documenting and reporting substandard and unlawful practices within the abortion industry and seeking enforcement of existing abortion laws.

Operation Rescue Planned Parenthood cease decist letter

The demand letter, sent by Operation Rescue’s Chief Counsel, Brian Chavez-Ochoa, stated that Richards’ statements on the ABC News show hosted by George Stephanopoulus were “reckless and malicious. Its reckless and malicious conduct gives rise to substantial liability for defamation.”

The interview was prompted by the release of undercover videos made by the Center for Medical Progress that show evidence of Planned Parenthood’s involvement in the illegal selling of aborted baby remains. Newman appears to have been targeted by Richards because he serves as a Board Member for the Center for Medical Progress.

The videos also show evidence that Planned Parenthood’s abortionists illegally alter abortion procedures to ensure that marketable organs are protected during the abortion process.

The pro-life group continued saying:

At least one video describes the use of the banned Partial Birth Abortion method in which living babies are extracted from the birth canal and killed before they can be fully birthed. This gives rise to concerns that some of the babies have been born alive then killed for their organs, which can fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars for Planned Parenthood affiliates.

ABC Cease Decist letter Planned Parenthood troy newman

Planned Parenthood is lashing out and trying to deflect from their own appalling and allegedly illegal behavior by attacking me. With ongoing criminal investigations in at least 11 states, Planned Parenthood is desperate to change the subject. I cannot allow Richards to make statements that damage my good name just so she can shift public attention away from what is really going on inside her abortion clinics,” said Newman.

Last week, the National Abortion Federation (NAF) was granted a preliminary injunction against the Center for Medical Progress in an attempt to silence the pro-life group from releasing more damming video evidence of a possible illegal baby parts business.

A temporary restraining order has also been granted to Stem Express, the tissue procurement company used by Planned Parenthood.

Both orders are temporary as parties prepare to make their case for or against them before a judge in the near future.

The latest transcripts released by the Center for Medical Progress revealed that Planned Parenthood was using aborted baby parts for humanized mice research.

The use of aborted baby parts implanted in animals is not new and the gruesome experimentation has been documented on this blog here.

Planned Parenthood prez claims docs in baby parts vids have been “reprimanded for tone”

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards claims only a few of her abortion clinics “harvest body parts.”

Cecile Richards George STeph Planned Parenthood

She is responding to two under cover videos catching her top physicians casually eating and drinking wine while discussing Planned Parenthood’s police of chopping up the unborn babies they abort for spare parts.

Cecile RIchards Planned Parenthood ABC

Richards claims the videos are “highly edited” despite the FACT that the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) has uploaded the full footage.

The abortion giant prez has since gone on the media circuit decrying CMP and trying to convince the public THEY [Planned Parenthood] are the victims as opposed to the tiny humans they are “crushing” and potentially harvesting from.

Hillary CLinton defends Planned Parenthood

She is not alone, 2016 presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton, who once spoke out on Elephants Harvesting, has defended Planned Parenthood despite their aborted baby parts racket.

Sunday, George Stephanopoulos interviewed Richards on This Week Sunday, where the CEO taking in a six digit salary every year from the tax funded organization was clearly put on the defensive despite his support of the organization.

planned-parenthood-video-crush-b

Stephanopoulos asked the Planned Parenthood prez if they have reprimanded their top medical directors, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, who bragged how she will crush above or crush below the desired child’s organ to appease “buyers” of the fetal body parts and Mary Gatter who said she would modify the abortion procedure, performing a “Less Crunchy” technique to obtain more “whole specimens.” Gatter then joked about wanting a Lamborghini.

Matry Gatter Planned Parenthood

Richards told the ABC TV personality that the two abortionists had “been reprimanded for their tone.”

Richards refused to say how they were reprimanded and was not pushed any further on the question.

To date, neither doctor has defended their own words.

But, in the interview, Richards sounds very rattled and at one time it sounded like she was going to cry.

Her repeated claims that they “do more” “help women” etc….are not flying in the eyes of Americans who are horrified by the FACT that Planned Parenthood admitted to harvesting the babies.

Richard’s decries the group that did the video investigation as “anti-abortion militants” who “entrapped doctors to say things” and claim they “do not profit” off the body parts.

She is asked about specific statements by the top Planned Parenthood doctors and claims it is all “taken out of context” because the group that investigated them “lied.”

Richards claims their records are open to anyone (like Congress) who wants to see them and continues to blame CMP because her hands were caught in the bloody cookie jar!

Let’s hope the American people defund Planned Parenthood immediately!

ABC’s abortion report ties Mississippi’s last abortion clinic to “God”‪ #‎ShutDerzisDown‬

ABC Jackson WHO

In Mississippi, the state’s only abortion clinic may have to close because of a law similar to what is being proposed in Wisconsin. A job ad in large bold type is featured on the Jackson (Miss.) Women’s Health Organization‘s website asking for physicians with admitting privileges to apply. In September, the clinic applied to about seven nearby hospitals but was rejected by all of them.

ABC’s Nightline did this report on the last abortion clinic in Mississippi and tied those who killed babies to “God”:

Christian Abortionist? Is there such a thing?

Willie Parker ABC

Nightline’s Cynthia McFadden, asked what they called a “Christian Abortion Doctor” who kills unborn children at Jackson Women’s Health abortion clinic in Mississippi, how many abortions he would do on ONE woman. Abortionist Willie Parker responded, “How many? As many as necessary”

ABORTION CLINIC OWNER THINKS GOD IS ON HER SIDE:

Derzis ABC News July 2013

Diane Derzis who runs the Jackson Women’s Health Organization abortion clinic in Mississippi and another in Alabama, told ABC news, “ I Know as fervently as they do that what I’m doing is moral and right, but if I’m wrong, that’s between the Lord and I. ” – abortion clinic chain owner Diane Derzis.

WHAT ABC FAILED TO REPORT:

New Women All Women NWALDenied

Diane Derzis owner of the Mississippi abortion clinic also runs a shoddy abortion clinic in Alabama. DID YOU HEAR THAT ABC? You failed to report that FACT!

A combination of shady practices, injured patients, and building code violations resulted in the culmination of a 76 page deficiency report filed by the Alabama Department of Public Health against (Birmingham, Ala.) New Woman All Women abortion clinic in March 2012. ( Reports Life Legal Defense Foundation)

derzis

The report ultimately led to the revocation of clinic owner, Diane Derzis’, license to operate the facility and in May 2012 the abortion clinic was closed down. Ms. Derzis teamed up with long time friend Kelley Rainwater to strike a deal that would allow Rainwater to serve as a straw person running the clinic for Derzis. But….on February 8, 2013, the ADPH confirmed that Ms. Rainwater’s application was denied.

Derzies is fighting to stay open at her abortion clinic in Mississippi which is being defended by pro-abortion groups despite the conditions of her clinic in Alabama. She has also been granted a pass by a judge in the closing of her Alabama abortion clinic.

Jackson Womens Health Organization Abortion Clinic Owner Diane Derzis’ idea of “Fine” : 2 patients overdosed ! Welcome to “safe abortion”

According to Operation Rescue, Derzis’ abortion clinic in Jackson, Mississippi, is run the same way as her now condemned Alabama abortion business. In fact, it employs some of the same abortionists, including Bruce Elliott Norman, who was the abortionist on duty at NWAW that day in January when three of his abortion patients were hospitalized with complications arising from violations in the standard of care. Two women were overdosed on an IV drug, and another woman landed in the ICU with heavy bleeding after she was left unmonitored while being dosed with a strong medication that causes powerful uterine contractions.

RyanBombergerRadiance

Pro-lifer Ryan Bomberger reacts to ABC News’ report:

ABC’s Nightline, just days ago, went to Mississippi’s sole abortion mill owned by the ever wealthy Diane Derzis. Nightline spent 72 hours, they claim, inside the abortion mill. But apparently what actually happens INSIDE the building isn’t part of the story. Nightline didn’t show an abortion, didn’t show a mutilated baby’s body parts being counted, didn’t show biohazard waste bags filled with dead babies or any part of the act that has killed 55 million since Roe. Instead, Nightline touted the cute bubble-gum pink color of the exterior of the building and drove around in Diane Derzis’ gas guzzling, “global warming”-inducing Hummer.

(Apparently, pro-climate control ABC was okay with that since Derzis’ offset her “carbon footprint” by eliminating thousands of other footprints.) They could’ve asked why her other clinic in Birmingham, Alabama was closed down. They could’ve asked why the State issued 76 pages of health code violations (h/t Operation Rescue’s abortiondocs.org) on her clinic and forbade her from ever owning a clinic in Birmingham, Alabama again. But they didn’t.

ABC’s Nightline also depicted the abortionist who travels to Mississippi’s lone abortion mill as some kind of charitable doctor. ABC fails to mention that Dr. Willie Parker is the highly paid late-term abortionist and Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington. He’s paid $356,000 by Planned Parenthood for just the abortions he commits at DC’s main abortion center.

willieparker2PPPay

(Abortion is still legal throughout the entire pregnancy in DC.) Instead, ABC portrays Parker as a compassionate man from Alabama, with a “deep evangelical faith”, just trying to bring comfort to women, instead of the abortionist who is paid as a subcontractor to travel to several states to abort children and pretend to be a woman’s personal physician.

Sadly, the American public suffers from systematic misinformation by an institution that should be telling the truth, but chooses, instead, to tell us lies.

O’Donnell dared to “Dabble in Politics” without the approval of the left and Karl Rove-the “witch hunt” has begun !

Bill Mahre has threatened to show old “Clips” of Christine O’Donnell if she does not come on his show. He is using video from her days as a teenager to try and undermine her campaign…think about that ! Look at YOUTUBE and imagine how many teens will one day regret what they posted !

Mahre’s newest “Clip” is of O’Donnell’s claim that she “Dabbled in Witchcraft” – (Below)

Well..here is Bill Mahre admitting he “Dabbled in Witchcraft” : – )

And the High Wizard of Mean Spirited Politics himself- Karl Rove weighed in:

Here is O’Donnell’s explanation: “I was in high school, how many of you didn’t hang out with questionable people in high school?..if there was Karl Rove would be a supporter now.”

Perhaps we should define “Dabbled” does it mean that you tried it, or does it mean you had a moment of indiscretion?
Decades before Sen. Barack Obama was a leading candidate for the presidency, he was a lot like many University of Florida students: young, intelligent and curious.

That college-aged curiosity led him to use alcohol, marijuana and cocaine, decisions that became issues of contention in his campaign.

Obama first told of his early drug use in his 1995 memoir, “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.

He had just become president of the Harvard Law Review at the time of the book’s publishing, but he was years away from entering the national spotlight as a U.S. senator.

Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it,” wrote Obama about what he would later say were “bad decisions.” “Junkie. Pothead. That’s where I’d been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man.”

So – when Obama “Dabbles” in drugs – all is written off a youthful indiscretion – but- O’Donnell’s “indiscretion” will be a call for her resignation. Demonize her….Isn’t that what the left does anyway?

And when Bill Clinton- admitted he used marijuana, his “I didn’t inhale excuse was enough for the left ! Obama- then admitted that he did “INHALE“…yet the left found both of them as appealing to real people.

But- we all know that the left NEVER says or does anything they “Regret”

During the 2008 Presidential election, Obama, during a press conference, claimed Nancy Reagan held seances in the White House. It was Obama the candidate brought up Nancy Reagan and seances during a press conference. A claim which was incorrect.

The following report from ABC published during the 2008 presidential primary election days on November 7, 2008, then Senator Obama apologizing to Nancy Reagan after Obama, during a press conference, told reporters Nancy Reagan held seances at the White House:

“I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any séances,” Obama explained —

In that same ABC News report it states, “When she was first lady, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., worked with spiritual adviser Jean Houston to access an “Eleanor Roosevelt-like consciousness” from within her own psyche. Clinton wrote in a column that Roosevelt “usually responds by telling me to buck up, or at least to grow skin as thick as a rhinoceros.”

Obama speaks with Jake Tapper on abortion funding in Health Care bill

Transcript: ABC News’ Jake Tapper’s Exclusive Interview with President Obama

TAPPER: Here’s a question a lot of Senate Democrats want to know. You said, when you gave your joint address to Congress, that under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions. This amendment passed Saturday night which not only prohibits abortion coverage in the public option, but also prohibits women who receive subsidies from taking out plans that — that provide abortion coverage. Does that meet the promise that you set out or does it over reach, does it go too far?

OBAMA: You know, I laid out a very simple principle, which is this is a health care bill, not an abortion bill. And we’re not looking to change what is the principle that has been in place for a very long time, which is federal dollars are not used to subsidize abortions.

And I want to make sure that the provision that emerges meets that test — that we are not in some way sneaking in funding for abortions, but, on the other hand, that we’re not restricting women’s insurance choices, because one of the pledges I made in that same speech was to say that if you’re happy and satisfied with the insurance that you have, that it’s not going to change.

So, you know, this is going to be a complex set of negotiations. I’m confident that we can actually arrive at this place where neither side feels that it’s being betrayed. But it’s going to take some time.

TAPPER: Do you think that amendment is status quo or does it lean a little bit in one direction or the other?

OBAMA: I think that there are strong feelings on both sides. And what that tells me is that there needs to be some more work before we get to the point where we’re not changing the status quo. And that’s the goal. The goal here is to make sure that people who have health insurance have greater stability and security, people who don’t have health insurance get the ability to buy it affordably and that we’re driving down costs.

And, you know, I think everybody understands that there’s going to be work to be done on the Senate side. It’s not going to match up perfectly with the House side. But obviously, it was a historic night for the House. We’ve never been this far. And I’m very confident that my colleagues in the Senate are going to say to themselves that we’ve got to get this done.

TAPPER: One of the concerns about health care and how you pay for it — one third of the funding comes from cuts to Medicare.

OBAMA: Right.

TAPPER: A lot of times, as you know, what happens in Congress is somebody will do something bold and then Congress, close to election season, will undo it.

OBAMA: Right.

Hmmm- is this another Campaign promise broken or just a trick to make us think he is really conflicted about babies who are killed with our tax dollars. Just listen to what the President told the nation’s top abortion provider, Planned Parenthood during his campaign:

All we have to do is listen to what the President said to the nation’s largest ABORTION PROVIDER, when he spoke to Planned Parenthood, during his campaign:

Some people argue that the federal ban on abortion was just an isolated effort aimed at one medical procedure—that it’s not part of a concerted effort to roll back the hard-won rights of American women. That presumption is also wrong….It is time for a different attitude in the White House. It is time for a different attitude in the Supreme Court. It is time to turn the page and write a new chapter in American history…

“I put Roe at the center of my lesson plan on reproductive freedom when I taught Constitutional Law. Not simply as a case about privacy but as part of the broader struggle for women’s equality. Steve and Pam will tell you that we fought together in the Illinois State Senate against restrictive choice legislation—laws just like the federal abortion laws, the federal abortion bans that are cropping up. I’ve stood up for the freedom of choice in the United States Senate and I stand by my votes against the confirmation of Judge Roberts and Samuel Alito [Applause]…

Now, I know I’m limited on time but I just want to expand on that second part of your question which is role that organizations like Planned Parenthood play. Obviously, my hope under a universal health care system is that everybody’s got access to basic care and we have less of a patchwork quilt of services. That—I still believe that it is important for organizations like Planned Parenthood to be part of that system. Because, many young women, for example, may be much more comfortable when they are in college or universities or other places, going to Planned Parenthood clinics and services to get contraception, for example. So, my hope is that we still have non-profit participation under my plan.

“We need more programs in our communities like the National Black Church Initiative which empowers our young people by teaching them about reproductive health, [ CODE FOR ABORTION] sex education and teen pregnancy within the context of the African-American faith tradition.”

And the line from the question and answer time given after the speech to Planned Parenthood which unmasks Obama is this one, “Well, look, in my mind reproductive care is essential care, basic care so it is at the center, the heart of the plan that I propose.

There it is, ABORTION IS AT THE HEART OF THE HEALTH CARE PLAN HE PROPOSES! With all respect Mr. President, what you said last night is a LIE !

Watch the speech for yourself, then watch Maafa21 and see just who Planned Parenthood thinks abortion is targeted to “Help”.

OBAMACARE ENDORSEMENTS: WHAT THE BRIBE WAS

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on TheHill.com on November 6, 2009

As the suicidal Democratic congressmen proceed to rubber-stamp the Obama healthcare reform despite the drubbing their party took in the ’09 elections, the president trotted out the endorsements of the AMA and the AARP to stimulate support. But these — and the other endorsements — his package has received are all bought and paid for.
Here are the deals:

* The American Medical Association (AMA) was facing a 21 percent cut in physicians’ reimbursements under the current law. Obama promised to kill the cut if they backed his bill. The cuts are the fruit of a law requiring annual 5-6 percent reductions in doctor reimbursements for treating Medicare patients. Bravely, each year Congress has rolled the cuts over, suspending them but not repealing them. So each year, the accumulated cuts threaten doctors. By now, they have risen to 21 percent. With this blackmail leverage, Obama compelled the AMA to support his bill…or else!

* The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues.

Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP — which supposedly represents them — will make more money. * The drug industry backed ObamaCare and, in return, got a 10-year limit of $80 billion on cuts in prescription drug costs. (A drop in the bucket of their almost $3 trillion projected cost over the next decade.) They also got administration assurances that it will continue to bar lower-cost Canadian drugs from coming into the U.S. All it had to do was put its formidable advertising budget at the disposal of the administration.

* Insurance companies got access to 40 million potential new customers. But when the Senate Finance Committee lowered the fine that would be imposed on those who don’t buy insurance from $3,500 to $1,500, the insurance companies jumped ship and now oppose the bill, albeit for the worst of motives.

The only industry that refused to knuckle under was the medical device makers. They stood for principle and wouldn’t go along with Obama’s blackmail. So the Senate Finance Committee retaliated by imposing a tax on medical devices such as automated wheelchairs, pacemakers, arterial stents, prosthetic limbs, artificial knees and hips and other necessary accoutrements of healthcare.

So these endorsements are not freely given, but bought and paid for by an administration that is intent on passing its program at any cost.
