Next in Live Action’s multi-part docuseries showing irrefutable evidence of a decades-long sexual abuse cover-up at Planned Parenthood is an interview that will reveal how the taxpayer-funded organization lied when they told the American people and the media that they were “retraining” staffers. The interview originally aired last year; however, in this current climate of the TimesUp and MeToo movements as well as a growing intolerance for enablers of abuse, it is imperative that the American people know the kind of organization they are being forced to fund through Title X, Medicaid and other state and federal tax dollars.

“Despite Planned Parenthood’s public rhetoric as well as laws requiring it to report suspected abuse, its failure to report has been deliberate and widespread,” Live Action president and founder Lila Rose stated in her group’s initial press release.

“Time and again, rather than reporting abuse to authorities, Planned Parenthood has repeatedly looked the other way and committed abortions on victims as young as 12 years old. These girls deserved advocacy but instead Planned Parenthood staff ignored their abuse and returned them to the waiting arms of their abusers.” (See the video on the recorded cases in which Planned Parenthood covered up sexual abuse here.)

“Live Action is releasing this report as the TimesUp movement is exposing both sexual abusers and those who help them cover up their crimes — the people who knew about the abuse but stayed silent,” Rose added.

The Aiding Abusers report, according to Rose, “includes numerous court cases, multiple news media reports, official police reports, state health department records, manager testimonials admitting a failure to report, and statements of underage sex abuse victims saying they were returned to their abusers after forced abortions.”

The next video release of the docuseries reveals how Planned Parenthood lied after being caught on film in an undercover Live Action investigation, displaying a willingness to turn a blind eye to child sex trafficking.

As Live Action News has previously reported, in 2011, Live Action investigators exposed eight Planned Parenthood staffers at seven different Planned Parenthood facilities willing to aid and abet child sex traffickers by suggesting how to get abortions and birth control for their 14- and 15-year-old victims. After Live Action released the undercover footage exposing Planned Parenthood, the abortion chain informed the media that it would retrain thousands of staff members across the country to properly report suspected sexual abuse of minors to authorities.

Proof of those “claims” can be seen in this Live Action News report.

Image: Planned Parenthood lied about retraining staffers on sexual abuse

Planned Parenthood lied about retraining staffers on sexual abuse

Ramona Treviño, who was employed as a Planned Parenthood manager in Sherman, Texas, when these so-called retraining sessions were to have occurred, revealed that these “retraining sessions” actually instructed staff how to identify undercover journalists and whether they were being recorded instead of helping employees identify and report potential abuse.

“Planned Parenthood Federation of America went out publicly saying that they would retrain all of their staff on how they reported abuse,” Treviño states in the video interview below:

The alleged retraining was pitched to the media as a way to ensure that Planned Parenthood staffers knew how to identify victims of child sexual abuse or sex trafficking. And, of course, as Live Action News had previously documented, the media accepted Planned Parenthood’s words with zero follow-up.

Treviño, who attended the “retraining,” describes it instead as a training on how to detect if employees were being recorded.

“And, when we were called into this meeting, I – um – went in really believing that Planned Parenthood could redeem themselves. They are going to prove that they really do care about women and  this is something that really concerns them,” Treviño tells Rose in the video.

Image: Ramona Trevino said Planned Parenthood lied about retraining staff to identify sexual abuse

The former Planned Parenthood manager continued:

I walk into the room and it’s dark – we sign in – and there’s a projector screen pulled down. And, they begin to play all of the previous undercover investigations that had been put out about Planned Parenthood. And I became very perplexed. I thought, you know, what’s going on here? Are we showing these things because they’re trying to show us, you know, what not to do? You know, the things that are wrong- that we don’t do these things?

… I raised my hand and I said, “I’m confused. Like, when are we going to actually begin the retraining? What can I do, as a manager, to take this information back to my staff and… enforce policies and procedures that would help protect women who are experiencing either sex trafficking or abuse, sexual abuse in any way?” Because, that’s a difficult subject to talk about, if you ever have a patient come in who expresses that. And so, I really wanted to know how we dealt with that.

Image: Planned Parenthood staffers aid sex traffickers (Image Credit: Live Action)

However, despite Treviño’s continued questions, the former Planned Parenthood worker claims she was simply shot down.

… She immediately shot me down, and she said, “We’re not here to talk about that, Ramona. We’re here to teach you how to identify if you’re being videotaped or recorded or entrapped in any way.”

At that moment, my heart just sunk. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I couldn’t believe that we were actually, um, there to train on how to identify if we’re being recorded. Again, it goes back to…do we have something to hide? Why, why is this an issue for us?

“That experience for me left me so disgusted that I couldn’t see how Planned Parenthood could ever redeem themselves after that,” Treviño adds.

This first hand account of that alleged “retraining” has been virtually dismissed by members of the mainstream media, which is regularly rewarded by Planned Parenthood for its silent complicity. Live Action’s Aiding Abusers docuseries and investigative report come on the heels of new proposed rules from The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which would require recipients of federal Title X dollars to report sexual abuse.

In addition to one former Planned Parenthood worker testifying to systemic sexual abuse cover-ups at Planned Parenthood, Live Action previously released video testimony from other former workers, corroborating Live Action’s claims.

“Because of flagrant violations like these, the proposed Title X rule tightening on reporting abuse is absolutely necessary,” Lila Rose stated in the aforementioned press release.

She then called for Planned Parenthood to be investigated and defunded immediately:

“Planned Parenthood has proven that its priority is selling abortions, not caring for the most vulnerable of girls. Planned Parenthood’s culture of cover-up must end, the cycle of abuse of innocent children must end, and Planned Parenthood’s half a billion dollars in annual federal funding must end. Taxpayers cannot be forced to subsidize these abuses of children.”

Rose has also called for the TimesUp movement to join Live Action in exposing Planned Parenthood for decades of enabling sexual abusers.

Planned Parenthood has been covering up child sexual abuse for a decade

The latest release in Live Action’s seven part docuseries, Aiding Abusers, demonstrates that, as far back as ten years ago, Planned Parenthood was covering-up child sexual abuse. This systemic child sexual abuse cover-up at Planned Parenthood, an organization receiving millions in tax dollars through federal Title X family planning programs, often results in sexual abuse victims being returned to their abusers for additional days, weeks, and even years of abuse. At a time when just about every industry has been held to task for their years of silence and complicity in covering up the sexual abuse of countless victims, it is past time for an honest look at Planned Parenthood.

Live Action founder and president Lila Rose stated in a press release:

Despite Planned Parenthood’s public rhetoric as well as laws requiring it to report suspected abuse, its failure to report has been deliberate and widespread. Time and again, rather than reporting abuse to authorities, Planned Parenthood has repeatedly looked the other way and performed abortions on victims as young as 12 years old. These girls deserved advocacy but instead Planned Parenthood staff ignored their abuse and returned them to the waiting arms of their abusers.

Because of flagrant violations like these, the proposed Title X rule tightening on reporting abuse is absolutely necessary. Planned Parenthood has proven that its priority is selling abortions, not caring for the most vulnerable of girls. Planned Parenthood’s culture of cover-up must end, the cycle of abuse of innocent children must end, and Planned Parenthood’s half a billion dollars in annual federal funding must end. Taxpayers cannot be forced to subsidize these abuses of children.

In the Statutory Rape Investigation video of the Aiding Abusers docuseries, Rose asks:

“How is it that sexual abuse of multiple victims can continue within an institution for years, sometimes decades?

“We get some answers from the case of Larry Nassar the US Gymnastics coach who was accused of molesting at least two hundred and fifty young girls, dating as far back as 1992. People heard about the abuse, they knew about the abuse, but they did nothing.”

Image: Just like Larry Nasser Lila Rose says nothing being done about Sex Abuse cover up at Planned Parenthood

‘Just like Larry Nassar’: Lila Rose says nothing being done about Sex Abuse cover up at Planned Parenthood

Former gymnast Rachael Denhollander, one of Nassar’s sexual abuse victims, told the court, “Larry Nassar did not arise in isolation. Rather, we saw the worst sexual assault scandal in history unfold because a predator was left in power for decades, despite warning signs, despite red flags, direct reports of assaults.”

Similar red flags, warning signs and reports exist where Planned Parenthood is concerned, and tragically, the organization’s complicity has also enabled sexual predators to remain in power and continue to use its services to cover predators’ crimes.

In 2008, Live Action investigators found out first hand how Planned Parenthood views victims of sexual abuse. Time and again, Live Action’s investigators, posing as 13- to 15-year-old girls with boyfriends as old as 31, were instead told how to protect their abusers. Just as in the Nassar case, the predator remained in control.

In this edition of the Aiding Abusers docuseries, Live Action will demonstrate how Planned Parenthood was covering-up child sexual abuse ten years ago, just as they are today.

“Our investigation found eight Planned Parenthood facilities in six different states that were willing to cover-up sexual abuse including, disregarding mandatory reporting laws of suspected statutory rape,” Lila Rose states.

The following is a compilation reel of that investigation:

At the Planned Parenthood in Bloomington, Indiana, the counselor tells Live Action’s investigator that she does not want to know how old the “boyfriend” is because “…[I]n the state of Indiana, anyone 13 years and younger… there has to be a report done to CPS….” Apparently, the 31-year-old abuser was more important to Planned Parenthood than the teen victim.

Image: Planned Parenthood Bloomington In doesn't want to know how old sexual abuser is

Planned Parenthood Bloomington, Indiana doesn’t want to know how old sexual abuser is

The Indianapolis, Indiana, Planned Parenthood was no different. In fact, not only did the Planned Parenthood counselor refuse to protect the young “victim,” but told the investigator, posing as a 13-year-old girl, that “surrounding states” do not have parental consent, hinting that the child would be easily able to access an abortion somewhere else.

In Tucson, Arizona, the Planned Parenthood counselor was also more willing to protect the abuser, an adult male manipulating a young girl into a sexual relationship. Rather than get more information and file a report, the counselor told the investigator that having sex with an adult was her “choice,” as long as she wasn’t “being forced to have sex,” despite clear laws against statutory rape.

At the Planned Parenthood at 302 North Jackson Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the counselor was told that the adult “boyfriend” knew how old the 14-year-old investigator was when she asked, “Ok, so would he be paying for [the abortion], then?” The only advice the counselor gave Live Action’s investigator was that she “had the right to an abortion.” Despite disregarding mandatory reporting laws on child sexual abuse, this Planned Parenthood facility is currently listed as receiving Title X funds.

Image: Title X funded Planned Parenthood covers child sexual abuse in Milwaukee, WI

In Phoenix, Arizona, when the Live Action investigator posed as a 15-year-old with an adult boyfriend, Planned Parenthood implied that giving the counselor the man’s age was totally up to the victim, shutting down any chance that this adult pedophile could be caught.

Then, in Memphis, Tennessee, the Planned Parenthood counselor at first stated that she would speak with her manager because the adult boyfriend “is gonna get in trouble” — after all, the Planned Parenthood counselor initially tells the investigator, posing as 14, “he’s your age – doubled.” Then, she has a change of heart and tells Live Action’s investigator, “I’m not going to tell anybody…. Please don’t say that I told you this…. Just say you have a boyfriend 17 years old….”

In Birmingham, Alabama, the Planned Parenthood counselor tells Live Action’s investigator that as long as she “consented” to having sex with her 31-year-old boyfriend at the age of 14, then “there is nothing we can truly do about that.”

Live Action’s Aiding Abusers series contains horrific accounts and testimonials from actual victims taken from criminal and civil court records, health department agencies as well as news reports. Although the information may not be new in most instances, it is eye opening in light of the current #MeToo and #TimesUp movements now rightly demanding that those who are complicit in covering up abuse be exposed. The evidence has mounted, the silence from the media, politicians and Hollywood alike has been deafening. It’s time to stop protecting abusers who use Planned Parenthood to cover their crimes and to start holding this taxpayer-funded organization accountable.

It’s past time for Congress to both investigate Planned Parenthood and to remove Title X dollars and the balance of the half billion federal dollars from Planned Parenthood, once and for all. To do nothing is to also be complicit in this abuse.

Girl, sad, Planned Parenthood

Live Action has just released stunning evidence in its Aiding Abusers docuseries, showing how Planned Parenthood has systematically and repeatedly aided abusers. There is a horrific, growing list of criminal cases against adult sexual predators who preyed on children as young as 12 years of age, taking them to Planned Parenthood for abortions to cover their crimes. Undercover investigations and testimony from former Planned Parenthood staffers proves that the taxpayer-funded organization is fast becoming the nation’s largest complicity machine in the cover-up of child sexual abuse.

Adolescents and teen girls are being sexually abused and taken to Planned Parenthood for a variety of reasons, including abortions. And, as Live Action’s investigative report and docuseries, along with Live Action News articles demonstrate, Planned Parenthood continues to turn a blind eye to victims of sexual abuse and rape, often returning them back to the arms of their abusers. Despite the data — which shows that younger sexually active girls are likely involved with partners three to six years older — Planned Parenthood views these girls as sexually promiscuous and in need of its “services” instead of suspecting abuse.

According to data researched by Mike Males, senior researcher at the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice, San Francisco, and published in Yes Magazine in 2016:

[T]he Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that two-thirds of all marital births and 44 percent of unwed births among mothers age 18 and younger were fathered by adult men 20 years of age and older. Some 10,000 of those cases involved men older than 24. And these are just births; total sexual encounters would be many times higher…

Research published in 2006 on the website of Planned Parenthood’s own former special affiliate, the Guttmacher Institute, states, “… [A]mong sexually experienced teenagers, the youngest are the most likely to report having had an older first sexual partner.”

In 2013, Planned Parenthood claimed in a report that 6.7% of teens between the ages of 15 and 17 “have partners six or more years older than they are.” That means that nearly seven percent of girls who are just 15 years old, could be having sex (willingly or unwillingly) with an adult male who is 21 or older. Census estimates show that there were roughly 6.3 million females between 15 and 17 in the US in 2016. Within that age group, less than half are reported to be sexually active. Knowing this, and if Planned Parenthood’s claim is correct, that would indicate that there are potentially 210,000 15- to 17-year-old girls who may be at risk for statutory rape. Some states set the age of consent at 16 years old, while some set it at 17 or 18.

Planned Parenthood’s own glossary of terms describes statutory rape as “[l]egally, sexual contact between an adult and anyone who is below the age of consent, whether or not the contact is voluntary.”

Planned Parenthood

2016 Census data females ages 15 to 17

But the problem is even more magnified when the victim is not “consenting” or is much younger. Studies show that younger girls are less likely to engage in sex, yet when a sexually active adolescent or teen girl presents at Planned Parenthood, she fails to invoke suspicion of abuse. Why?

According to research published on Guttmacher’s website, “On average, young people in the United States have sex for the first time at about age 17… ” Of those who are sexually active at a young age, additional data shows that young girls with a much older “romantic partner” are more likely to engage in sex.

Yet, Planned Parenthood continues to miss all these red flags.

A study published by the Journal of Women’s Health in 2011 found that “[i]n national surveys, nearly 50% of sexually active adolescent females reported having a sex partner ≥2 years older, and 36% reported a partner ≥3 years older.” Participant demographic from the study “were, on average, 14.6 years old at first vaginal intercourse. Their first vaginal intercourse partners were, on average, 17.5 years old. Sixty percent of the sample had a first sex partner who was ≥2 years older, and 41% of the sample had a first sex partner who was ≥3 years older.”

Planned Parenthood

Journal of Women’s Health study of older sexual partners of teens

The report goes on to state that “[f]or adolescent females, having sex with an older male partner correlates with a variety of negative health outcomes… adolescent females who had a sex partner who was ≥6 years older had a pregnancy rate almost four times that of adolescent females with a similar-aged sex partner.”

report from 2014 found that “[n]early 36 percent of girls who first got pregnant before age 15 had sex for the first time with a partner at least six years older, compared to 17 percent of girls who got pregnant between 15 and 19.”

In Planned Parenthood’s previously mentioned 2013 report, the abortion corporation states:

  • Forty-six percent of teenage girls and 22 percent of teenage boys who engage in their first sexual experience before the age of 15 have been involved in a pregnancy.

2002 review of 1,975 female participants from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health found that substantial age gaps play a large role in whether a young girl will engage in sex:

Adolescent females involved with an older partner have higher odds of having intercourse with that partner than females with partners their own age, after adjustment for demographic covariates. The magnitude of this association is most dramatic among the youngest females—for example, the odds of intercourse among 13-year-old females with a partner six years older are more than six times the odds among 13-year-old females with a same-age partner (odds ratio, 6.4), while 17-year-old females with partners six years older have about twice the odds of intercourse when compared with those who have a same-age partner (2.1).

The report also noted that “[f]emales aged 13 or younger with a partner at least four years their senior were more likely to have had sex than were those with a partner of the same age or younger (41% vs. 9%)… It thus seems that while sexual intercourse is less common for females who are 13 or younger at the onset of their relationships, substantial age gaps between partners may play a larger role in the progression to intercourse in this age-group than in others.”

In other words, if a child at this young age is showing signs of sexual activity, it is likely they are engaging in a sexual relationship with an older partner. Therefore, when a young girl at the age of 12, 13, or 14 shows up at Planned Parenthood pregnant or in need of birth control or seeking an abortion, it should automatically trigger a suspicion of abuse. Yet, this red flag is being deliberately overlooked by Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood

Report: Age difference between adolescent females and their romantic partners

Demographic information of participants in the report, shown in Table 2, indicate that of participants who were younger than 13:

  • 23.3% had a sexual partner that was one to three years older.
  • 40.8% had a sexual relationship [most likely with men] who were four years or more older.

In addition, out of participants who were between the ages of 14 and 15:

  • 42.9% engaged in sex with partners that were one to three years older.
  • 67.4% had sex with men who were four years older or more.

2008 study found that young females who admitted to authors that they had an older sexual partner were more likely to also claim that the sexual encounter was non-consensual. The report, entitled, “Older Sexual Partners During Adolescence,” found that “[y]oung females with older sexual partners are less likely than other sexually experienced teenage women to report that the relationship is ‘steady,’ and are more likely to report that their first sexual intercourse was nonvoluntary or unwanted.”

In addition, a 2015 review of available data, published by the non-profit group Child Trends, found that younger teens are more likely to report first sexual experiences as “statutory rape”:

Among those whose first sexual experience was before age 16, the youngest sexually experienced teens were most likely to report their sexual experience as “statutory rape.” Overall, in 2011-13, 17 percent of males and 33 percent of females who had sexual intercourse before age 16 reported that their first time was with someone who was at least three years older than them. Males who were 15 at first sex were less likely than males ages 14 or 13 or younger at first sex to have reported this experience as “statutory rape” (7 percent, compared with 22, and 24 percent, respectively). Females who were 15 at first sex were also less likely to have experienced “statutory rape” than females ages 14 or 13 or younger at first sex (21 percent, compared with 45, and 48 percent, respectively).

Planned Parenthood

Report by Child Trends shows younger teens are victims of statutory rape

In the table from the report shown below, 47.8% of 13-year-old-, 44.5% of 14-year-old-, and 20.8% of 15-year-old female adolescents from the data Child Trends reviewed had a first sexual relationship with someone three years or older. The report does not indicate whether the partners were adults, necessarily, but it does show a pattern that is troubling and should cause concern when sexually active teens present to a medical facility or clinic.

Planned Parenthood

Child Trends shows younger teens are often victims of statutory rape

A report published in June 2017 by Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, which looked at partner age gaps among females and males who first had intercourse before age 18, found that out of those who first had sex before age 15:

  • 19% had a partner who was 5+ years older than them and
  • 30% had a partner who was 3-4 years older.

What this reveals is that very early sexual experiences are more likely to happen with an older partner.

This information was found in Table 2, from the report entitled, “Associations of Partner Age Gap at Sexual Debut with Teenage Parenthood and Lifetime Number of Partners. The table of data also revealed that even though the percentages of older partners was reported as lower among females in the study who first had sex at ages 15-17, they are still alarming and demonstrate that the possibility of substantial incidents of statutory rape may be occurring:

  • 11% had a partner who was 5+ years older than them and
  • 13% had a partner who was 3-4 years older.
Planned Parenthood

2017 report shows early sexual experiences of girls are most common with older partners

As Live Action’s “Aiding Abusers” series has documented, when a young girl is taken to Planned Parenthood, the abortion corporation’s solution is not to view them as potential victims of sexual abuse but to hook them on contraceptives or sell them abortions, which fuel Planned Parenthood’s bottom line. This negligent attitude traps these victims of sexual abuse and grants aid to the abusers, by giving them a way to avoid getting caught.

In the #MeToo and #TimesUp era of intolerance against sexual abusers and those who are complicit in aiding the abuse, it is past time to open up investigations in every state to see just how prevalent the failure to report sexual abuse is within the largest taxpayer-funded abortion chain in the United States. Anything short of a full-on investigation and removal of tax funds through federal programs like Title X and Medicaid would be to diminish the agonizing suffering endured by victims of sexual abuse routinely ignored by Planned Parenthood, often in violation of state and federal law.

Image: Attorney Brian Hurley sued Planned Parenthood for covering child sexual abuse

The latest in a series of videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s complicity in covering child sexual abuse features an attorney who represented actual victims of the abortion corporation’s “don’t ask/don’t tell” policies on reporting sexual abuse. The interview, conducted by Live Action, comes at a time when society has demanded that organizations who are complicit in covering sexual abuse be held to account. This call has been loud in the media, politics, Hollywood, and sports. The one place this has been glossed over and nearly ignored has been with regard to Planned Parenthood’s complicity.

The “Prosecution” video in Live Action’s multi-part series, Aiding Abusers, opens with a statement by Steven Spielberg addressing the sexual abuse scandal in Hollywood that catapulted the #MeToo movement: “The other thing we have to think about is this: Hollywood and celebrity gets a lot of recognition. You can’t just think of this as a Hollywood problem. And we can’t forget the people that can’t afford attorneys. We can’t forget those people that are afraid to come out to say what happened to them because they have nobody to represent them or to stand up for them. I am more concerned about that group than I am about the celebrities that are being exposed and immediately get a huge amount of attention…. [T]hese kind of crimes of sexual assault are happening daily.”

What the Hollywood producer said is especially true when it comes to Planned Parenthood’s victims of abuse cover-up. This multi-million dollar tax funded organization has influence in very powerful circles like the media, Hollywood, and political power structures, outed for covering abuse in the past.

No one knows this more than Ohio litigator Brian Hurley, Esq., whose track record of going after those complicit in covering up sexual abuse is stellar. Hurley dared to face off against Planned Parenthood to defend the young victims of abuse covered-up by this powerful organization. He also once brought charges against the Catholic Church for its role in covering up the sexual abuse of young boys, and later brought two civil cases against Planned Parenthood for covering up the rape of teenage girls.

“I’m a devout Catholic, and I believe the Catholic Church had to be taken to task for what it did and didn’t do with respect to the abuse of boys, mostly boys,” Hurley told Live Action News. “And I was proud as being part of a prosecuting attorney’s office that we brought claims – charges – against the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for its conduct. And I think it gave me credibility.”

But Hurley noted nothing would prepare him for what would take place when he agreed to represent two victims of Planned Parenthood’s sexual abuse cover-up. Hurley said that Planned Parenthood, with its half a billion in tax dollars annually, has a litany of attorneys in its arsenal, which it uses against anyone who dares to challenge the organization in court, even when the case is filed to get justice for victims of rape or sexual assault.

“I will tell you I grossly underestimated what I was getting involved in. I’d been involved in very complex litigation for many years as lead counsel and I thought that would prepare me for litigating against Planned Parenthood. And I was wrong,” Hurley said, adding:

Planned Parenthood, when it is sued, hires the best lawyers in the United States. Planned Parenthood will fund the defense of litigation in a matter that, from what I could tell in our cases, it was limitless…. In both of our cases, Planned Parenthood’s lawyers fought every single issue, every aspect of discovery. Every aspect of the case was litigated. Much more so, in fact, than I had seen in any of the other cases I had been involved in my 35 years. Which, I think, from my perspective — and this is argued throughout our pleadings — was an attempt to make it prohibitively expensive for us to continue.

The majority of the plaintiffs in these cases are very poor people, are people from backgrounds where they don’t have much money. And it’s hard to find lawyers who are willing to spend six years litigating against an organization that is going to require you to devote thousands of hours to litigate those claims. And I think that is something that Planned Parenthood and its lawyers are very good at.

The first case involved a 14-year-old girl who went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion after being impregnated by her 21-year-old soccer coach. According to Hurley’s interview with Live Action News, when the adult predator, John Haller, found out that his minor victim, Chelsea, was pregnant, he understood that “he was going to be in serious trouble if that… was ever disclosed.” So, Haller convinced the teen, in Hurley’s words, to “have an abortion, and told her that that was the only way they could stay together, that he loved her and if she had the abortion they would stay together — and, she thought, would get married.”

But rather than investigate or report suspicion of abuse, Planned Parenthood asked few questions and simply took the word of Haller over the phone that he was the victim’s parent, after Haller instructed the girl to give his number to Planned Parenthood. Then, according to court documents, after the abortion, the abuser resumed having sex with the teen. As a result of a subsequent report made by a teacher, Haller was later found guilty of seven counts of sexual battery.

Hurley told Live Action News that the victim’s parents sued Planned Parenthood on several claims, that included a failure to report suspected abuse and a failure to obtain the consent of her parents before the abortion or even notify them. Planned Parenthood settled the case out of court.

The second case involved another teen who had been sexually abused by her father since she was 13. When she became pregnant at age 16, the abuser forced her to have an abortion at Planned Parenthood.

The victim, Denise Fairbanks, told Planned Parenthood’s staff that her father was raping her, but instead of reporting the abuse to authorities, Planned Parenthood sent Denise home with the abuser where he continued to assault her for another year and a half. The abuser was stopped only after Denise spoke to her coach — and the coach, not Planned Parenthood, went to law enforcement.

According to Hurley, who also represented Denise in her lawsuit, when the victim was taken to Planned Parenthood…

The Planned Parenthood employee said to her something to the effect, “If you’re going to sleep around you need to get on birth control.”

And Denise was stunned, and she took that as really an insult, that she was being called a whore. And, so, what Denise… said in response was, “This was not supposed to happen, I was forced to do things I didn’t want to do.”

Image: Brian Hurley talks about Planned Parenthood sexual abuse cover up

Brian Hurley talks about Planned Parenthood sexual abuse cover up

Of Planned Parenthood’s failure to report the sexual abuse being inflicted on this young victim, Hurley told Live Action, “It was clear to me that they had a duty to report suspected abuse. I think known abuse, but, at least suspected abuse. They didn’t. And her father continued to rape her for another year.”

Hurley told Live Action News, “Had they reported Denise’s abuse immediately, the abuse would have stopped…. Unfortunately, it was a year later.”

Hurley also told Live Action News he believes the media has given Planned Parenthood a pass and that, as a result, more sexual abuse will be covered up:

While they’re correct in terms of the way they have handled and exposed or or attempted to expose, the abuse that took place in the Catholic Church up in Michigan State, and now even in the #MeToo movement, I think that’s great. What I find to be hypocritical is the media’s refusal to do a serious investigation of what occurs at Planned Parenthood.

There’s been enough information provided to the press, with Lila Rose for example, when she did her exposés, both with respect to the attempts in those situations, based upon the video I saw, of people at Planned Parenthood coaching girls not to say certain things so they wouldn’t have to report abuse. Also, to the videos that talked about the sex trafficking and the prostitution. Clearly, the mainstream media has decided that they don’t want to expose or do an investigation… to find out what is actually going on at Planned Parenthood.

Hurley added, “[I]f I, as a devout Catholic, would participate in the prosecution of the Catholic Church for what it’s role was in failure to report abuse, then I have no problems trying to expose what Planned Parenthood does and doesn’t do.”

But, as Live Action News has previously documented, Planned Parenthood regularly rewards journalists for their complicity of silence on failing to accurately report their abuses, which include Medicaid fraudprivacy breaches, and a failure to report sexual abuse among others.

The evidence against Planned Parenthood is mounting.

Live Action President and Founder Lila Rose commented, “Without over half a billion dollars a year from taxpayers, it would be much harder for Planned Parenthood to litigate these abuse cases for years until they wore victims down, never formally admitting their cover up of these young girls’ rape. When Planned Parenthood gets taken to court, it’s the taxpayers who are paying for Planned Parenthood’s defense and helping to put these children through years of litigation and prolonging their agony.”

In the investigative report entitled, “Aiding Abusers, Planned Parenthood’s cover-up of child sexual abuse,” (which can be read here) evidence of Planned Parenthood’s history and corporate culture of failing to report incidents to authorities include:

  1. Court cases including testimonies of victims experiencing horrific abuse
  2. State health department records
  3. Testimonies from former Planned Parenthood workers
  4. Two Live Action Undercover investigations
  5. Loyola University study on sex trafficking

Live Action’s companion video docuseries includes tragic details of criminal and civil cases (many previously in the public record thanks in part to pro-life groups such as Life Dynamics) in which victims were returned to their abusers to be further assaulted. It also contains testimony from former Planned Parenthood staffers, who repeatedly witnessed the organization’s systematic and troubling disregard of mandatory reporting laws. The abortion giant currently receives $60 million from the federal Title X family planning program and hundreds of millions of dollars from Medicaid and other state and federal government money. In 2015, 474 of Planned Parenthood’s nearly 650 facilities were Title X recipients, according to a Guttmacher Institute report. In total, Planned Parenthood receives over half a billion dollars annually in federal and state tax dollars.

Under Title X, recipients are required to follow state and federal reporting laws on reporting sexual abuse.

Police training call shows how Planned Parenthood helps sexual abusers

Posted in Planned Parenthood and Child Predators, Planned Parenthood fails to report rape with tags , , , , , , , on June 22, 2018 by saynsumthn

abortions, sexual abuse, Planned Parenthood

A training key published by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) contains a transcript which proves just how comfortable sexual abusers are at using Planned Parenthood to hide their crimes.

Training keys are written by police experts and are described by the IACP as “concise, authoritative sources of law enforcement information, these six-page, loose-leaf monographs allow law enforcement officers to expand or sharpen their knowledge, skills and abilities on a broad variety of law enforcement practices and procedures.”

This particular Training Key is marked #574 and was published in 2004. It contains the transcript of a “pretext call” by a sexual abuse victim to the abuser (“Gerald”), beginning on page 4. The call was made on December 3, 2000, and the transcription was published in the Training Key by Detective Harold Eisenga of the San Diego, California, Police Department Sex Crimes Unit.

Image: Police Training Key Sexual Abuse and Planned Parenthood

Police Training Key Sexual Abuse and Planned Parenthood

According to Eisenga, a pretext call is simply “a tape recorded telephone call between the victim and the subject. The call is usually initiated by the victim, under the supervision of a law enforcement officer…. The suspect is unaware that the call is being recorded….”

No copy of the audio was available, as Live Action News was told that “the San Diego Police Department has no responsive records.”

However, a reading of the published transcript reveals just how comfortable sexual predators are at using or recommending Planned Parenthood to cover their abuses. In the transcript of an actual pretext phone call used in a sexual assault investigation, the predator, going by the name “Gerald” and referred to as the “suspect,” tells the 15-year-old victim to go to Planned Parenthood to obtain the potentially abortifacient morning after pill:

Image: Sexual predator coaches victim to go to Planned Parenthood

After the victim tells Gerald she missed her period, the suspect tells her to “go down to Planned Parenthood. And tell them the situation and they can give you something to take care of that if, in fact, you are.”

The victim tells the suspect that she has no money, and the suspect assures her she will not have to pay anything, and to ask Planned Parenthood for the morning after pill: “What they do… tell them you need the morning after pill and they’ll give it to you and you take what you have to take and it’ll induce your period. In other words, it’ll make you have your period. Within seven days.”

Image: Sexual predator tells victim get morning after pill at Planned Parenthood

The suspect, Gerald, coaches the victim how to get around any parental consent issues: “But just go in there and you fill out paperwork and tell them you don’t have any insurance and you don’t want your parents to know about it and if they ask you where can they contact you at, you tell them to contact you on your pager. And then you tell them..fill out all the information…and then you tell them what the situation is, they’ll check you out. They’ll give you a pregnancy test and then just tell them you need the morning after pill. You take it like you’re supposed to and what it does is, it causes you to have your period.”

The “victim” then asks, “Well, um, so… you’re saying I should like have an abortion like.”

The predator responds, “Well, it’s not necessarily an abortion, but it just prevents you from, your body to accepting it, if, in fact, you are pregnant. It just prevents your body from accepting it.”

This is, indeed, how an abortifacient drug like the morning after pill works — by thwarting the implantation of a newly conceived human life.

Concerned about going alone at the age of 15, the suspect tries to assure the victim it will be okay by referencing another child with whom the suspect later admitted to having sex — a girl just 14 years old:

Image: 15 year old sexual abuse victim coached by predator to go to Planned Parenthood

15 year old sexual abuse victim coached by predator to go to Planned Parenthood

“You can do it alone,” the suspect told her, “because when I told Ann, like, you know, Ann had the same problem when she went out with this one guy. A different Ann, not the Ann that Nadia knows, a different Ann. And uh, she had a problem, the same thing, and she thought she might have missed her period, but it was somewhat normal and you can miss your period for like a week or two.” He then told the victim that “Ann” was only 14 years old and she was able to obtain the morning after pill from Planned Parenthood, saying, “… so she went down and they gave her the morning after pill and she took it, like seven pills you have to take, and then you take it. And then what happens is it makes your body start having like your normal period.” He said, “there are several pills you take, they give you in a little packet, it doesn’t cost you anything. They ask for you to make a donation, but what you do is, you take it. And it starts making you like having your period. And you have them for like seven days.”

Image: Predator coaches sexual abuse victim to go to Planned Parenthood

Toward the end of the call, the predator again reinforces that Planned Parenthood will “take care of it” and suggests the victim have an abortion if the morning after pill doesn’t work:

Image: Predator coaches sexual abuse victim to get abortion at Planned Parenthood

Predator coaches sexual abuse victim to get abortion at Planned Parenthood

The victim says she plans to visit Planned Parenthood and that she’ll let the abuser know either way, whether she’s pregnant or not. He replies, “Okay. And if you don’t want to have it, like you don’t want to keep it. Then uh, go down to Planned Parenthood and tell them, you know, if you are, in fact, and that pill thing doesn’t work…. If it doesn’t work and you want to have an abortion, go to Planned Parenthood and tell them you want to have an abortion and you can’t afford it and they’ll take care of it…. But let me know what’s going on either way. Okay?”

The full transcript (below) shows, yet again, how even those in law enforcement are aware that Planned Parenthood has become the “go-to” place for sexual abusers. Live Action News has produced several detailed reports, articles, and undercover investigations proving that Planned Parenthood will hide sexual abuse. Planned Parenthood receives half a billion in federal and state tax dollars every year, yet Congress has failed to defund Planned Parenthood despite their serious and ongoing cover-ups of sexual abuse.

POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATOR’S REPORT

Today’s date is December 3, 2000, time is 1630 hours. I am with
[victim’s name] and we will be attempting a pre-text phone call to
[suspect’s name].
V:denotes victim
S:denotes suspect
V:Hello?
S:Did somebody page?
V:Gerald?
S:Yes.
V:Hi.
S:What up?
V:How are you?
S:Um. Fine. Getting ready to go to work.
V:Oh, you are? Can you talk for like a few seconds or minutes?
S:Okay.
V:Um, you know how you didn’t use a condom?
S:Um-hmmm.
V:Um. I’m like worried cause I was supposed to like start my period like last weekend.
S:Well then you go down to Planned Parenthood. And tell them the situation and they can give you something to take care of that if, in fact, you are.
V:Well. I don’t like have any money.
S:It doesn’t cost you anything

V:Oh, it doesn’t?
S:No.
V:Well, what should I do if I am?
S:You tell them the situation.
V:Uh-huh.
S:What they do…tell them you need the morning after pill and they’ll give it to you and you take what you have to take and it’ll induce your period. In other words, it’ll make you have your period. Within seven days.
V:Oh.
S:But just go in there and you fill out paperwork and tell them you don’t have any insurance and you don’t want your parents to know about it and if they ask you where can they contact you at, you tell them to contact you on your pager. And then you tell them..fill out all the information…and then you tell them what the situation is, they’ll
check you out. They’ll give you a pregnancy test and then just tell them you need the morning after pill. You take it like you’re supposed to and what it does is, it causes you to have your period.
V:Well, um, so…you’re saying I should like have an abortion like.
S:Well, it’s not necessarily an abortion, but it just prevents you from, your body to accepting it, if, in fact, you are pregnant. It just prevents your body from accepting it.
V:Well, could I go like do that alone? Cause you know I’m only 15 and so…
S:You can do it alone because when I told Ann, like, you know, Ann had the same problem when she went out with this one guy. A different Ann, not the Ann that Nadia knows, a different Ann. And uh, she had a problem, the same thing, and she thought she might have missed her period, but it was somewhat normal and you can miss your period for like a week or two. What she did was, after she missed it, a couple days, she went down to Planned Parenthood and said that she’s only 14, I think. Yeah, 14 or 15, something like that. She went down and told them she didn’t want her parents knowing because they didn’t know she was having sex and so she went down and then she told them she needed the morning after pill because she might, she might be and she can’t have it. She said, “I don’t want my boyfriend knowing about it. You know the guy I had sex with” and so she went down and they gave her the morning after pill and she took it, like seven pills you have to take, and then you take it. And then what happens is it makes your body start having like your normal period.
V:Then when we had sex, did you pull out when you comed.
S:Yes, I did.
V:Okay.
S:But, it isn’t abnormal that you miss your period because she missed hers like by a week. She got worried, she went in and she took this. They’re like, there are several pills you take, they give you in a little packet, it doesn’t cost you anything. They ask for you to make a donation, but what you do is, you take it. And it starts making you like having your period. And you have them for like seven days. Cause, how long is your normal period?
V:Um, about six days

S:Six days? Okay. You’ll be on it for about seven days, seven to eight days, somewhere around there. And then after you take for…you just read the directions, you take it and once it’s gone, it’s, that’s it.
V:Well, also Ann is kinda worried that she has an STD and she doesn’t know if it’s from you or Tim, but it could be from you because I’m kind of hurting down there too.
S:Well, it isn’t from me because I just got my test results back. They did a physical. And they do a full physical and so and they did a blood test and a urine test and I came with nothing.
V: Did you wear a condom when you had sex with Ann?
S:What?
V:Did you wear a condom when you had sex with Ann?
S:Um, first time yes, second time, no. But the second time was on the same day, I think it was.
V:Yeah?
S:But she said that she…first of all, I don’t think she has an STD. First of all, I think it’s because, when usually, when somebody has sex with someone who is, well, a lot larger than somebody they had sex with before, it does hurt, because when I had sex with Nadia, she said it hurt for like a couple hours and then like the first time, she said it hurt for a couple days. When I had sex with her, she said it hurt for a couple days. But, I don’t have anything because I just got my test results back yesterday. I don’t have anything. I gotta go back in on December 8th, to take another physical for my doctor.
V:Uh-huh.
S:That includes also they do blood, they do a blood test.
V:All right. Well, I better…
S:I’m fine. Tim you probably have to worry about. Uh, she told me that she didn’t have sex, like she didn’t have sex with Tim because he just couldn’t get it up. And that day, after that, the day that she had sex with Tim, she had sex after I had sex with her.
V:Um-hmmm.
S:So, if she contracted something, that would be on her.
V:Um-hmmm.
S:Because…is it still hurting?
V:For who?
S:It is?
V:For me?
S:Yeah.
V:Yeah.
S:So like what kind of pain do you feel?
V:Well, like it hurts for me to go pee and like it stings really…
S:…a urinary infection.
V:Hmm.
S:The only thing you can really catch from a guy is like gonorrhea, but it wouldn’t affect your urine. That’s more of a bladder type of infection. The only thing you can really catch from a guy is likecrabs or um, it is possible to catch like gonorrhea, but girls don’t get the same as guys do, it doesn’t hurt when you pee, that’s a bladder infection.
V:Gerald?
S:What?
V:I gotta go because my parents are gonna be home soon. I’ll go to Planned Parenthood and I’ll tell you if I am or not. Okay?
S:Okay. And if you don’t want to have it, like you don’t want to keep it. Then uh, go down to Planned Parenthood and tell them, you know, if you are, in fact, and that pill thing doesn’t work.
V:Um-hmmm.
S:Then…I don’t see why it wouldn’t, but if it doesn’t work and you want to have an abortion, go to Planned Parenthood and tell them you want to have an abortion and you can’t afford it and they’ll take care of it.
V:Okay.
S:But let me know what’s going on either way. Okay?
V:All right.
S:I got to get going to work. Okay?
V:Uh-huh.
S:Okay, bye.
V:Bye.

New cases show child sexual abusers use Planned Parenthood to cover crimes

Planned Parenthood covers for child sexual predators by failing to report suspicion of sexual abuse when a minor is taken to them for birth control services or abortions. This can be seen in Live Action’s newest docuseries, Aiding Abusers:

In January of 2017, Live Action News published a state by state list of criminal cases where Planned Parenthood failed to report these abuses. Part one demonstrated Planned Parenthood’s failure to report child sexual abuse in Alabama, Arizona, and California. Part two added Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington. Another egregious case was found in Washington State. Below are more cases:

Alaska – Dana Ray Thompson

Image: Dana Ray Thompson

Dana Ray Thompson

In Alaska, where Planned Parenthood abortionists have stated that they believe all abortions are “medically necessary,” Dana Ray Thompson was convicted of multiple counts of first and second degree sexual abuse of a minor, plus multiple counts of exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography following his sexual abuse of a teen victim — which included at least one trip to Planned Parenthood for birth control pills.

According to the court document, Thompson was in his mid-forties when he began a sexual relationship with his victim, referred to as “J.C.” The victim was 13 years old when Thompson began grooming her, telling her that “she had grown up,” asking about her bra size, and mentioning to J.C. that he wanted a sex slave.

According to the report, when J.C. turned 14, Thompson began talking to his victim about pornography and master-slave relationships, he then showed J.C. adult pornography. In 2005, Thompson began his sexual encounters with J.C. She was just 14 years old. Thompson then began engaging in more sexual activity with J.C., such as taking nude and sexually suggestive photographs of the young victim.

The court document states that when J.C. turned 15 years old, Thompson took her to Planned Parenthood “so that J.C. could obtain birth control,” after which, the predator and victim engaged in “multiple types of sexual intercourse.”

Given this timeline, it seems obvious from the court record that Planned Parenthood did not report suspicion of abuse. The abuse did not become public until the summer of 2008, three years after Thompson began his sexual assaults on the victim and at least two years after he took her to Planned Parenthood. According to the court document, the abuse became public when “J.C. spoke with a childhood friend who described being molested by an older man.” J.C. eventually told her mother who called the police. By this time, J.C. was 18, and had suffered additional abuse due to Planned Parenthood’s neglect.

Thompson is now registered with the state as a child sex offender and child kidnapper.

Arizona – Mark Joseph Tovar

Image: Mark Tovar

Mark Tovar

According to the Puma County Attorney’s Office, Mark Joseph Tovar began his deviant molestation and sexual assault against his step-daughter when she was about seven years old. He intentionally and maliciously abused her for her entire childhood, grooming her by his gradual sexual advances over a period of about 14 years. According to a court document, when the victim, referred to as “M.G.,” was just 15 years old, Tovar impregnated her. As a result, M.G.’s mother arranged for an abortion in July of 2004, and the documents states that “Tovar knew about M.G.’s pregnancy and abortion.”

The court record indicates that a total of two abortions took place and they both occurred at Planned Parenthood. The second abortion took place after the victim had turned nineteen. In total, the documents indicates that, after Planned Parenthood obviously failed to report suspicion of abuse in the first instance, the victim became pregnant two other times, and kept the baby in one of the instances.

Image: Sexual abuse victim taken for abortion at Planned Parenthood

The sexual abuse wasn’t revealed to police until the victim was 22, nearly seven years after she was taken to Planned Parenthood at the age of 15.

Tovar was convicted of two counts of child molestation, three counts of sexual conduct with a minor under the age of fifteen, and four counts of sexual conduct with a minor. In March of 2014, the trial court imposed two life sentences and multiple presumptive terms totaling seventy-four years’ imprisonment, all to be served consecutively.

Illinois – Kenneth Mitchell

Image: Kenneth Mitchell

Kenneth Mitchell

Kenneth Mitchell was arrested by the Chicago Police Department on January 14, 2016, and was charged with sexual assault of a minor less than 13 years of age and sexual assault of a family member under 18. According to the Chicago Tribune, Mitchell sexually assaulted one of his victims from 1999 to 2002. The girl was eight years old when the attacks started, according to Assistant State’s Attorney April Gonzales. The report states, “The victim told a Planned Parenthood counselor of the assaults at some point in 2006 or 2007, Gonzales said. Prosecutors and court record information did not indicate whether the counselor reported the incidents to authorities.” However, the allegations were not reported to police until the fall of 2015, many years after the victim claims she told Planned Parenthood, leaving questions as to whether Planned Parenthood filed a report.

Indiana – Christopher Jewell

Christopher Jewell was the stepfather to a young victim who is referred to as “T.S.” in court documents.

According to the court record, he engaged in a sexual relationship with T.S. from March 25, 2004, through June 30, 2007, while she was between the ages of thirteen and sixteen. The activity included fondling, oral sex, and sexual intercourse. While only six counts were filed against Jewell by the State in this case, the victim testified that he sexually assaulted her over thirty times and maybe as many as fifty times over the three-year period.

The court document states that during the course of the abuse, Jewell took the victim to Planned Parenthood to get her birth control pills without her mother’s knowledge. No other details were mentioned, but this shows that young teens are being taken to Planned Parenthood by their abusers to cover their crimes.

Image: Christopher Jewell took sexual abuse victim to Planned Parenthood

Jewell was not arrested as a result of his visit to Planned Parenthood.

Instead, Jewell was arrested in August 2008, after taking the minor for a tattoo. It was while he was in jail for the charge of aiding or abetting the tattooing of a minor that the victim finally went public about the sexual abuse and revealed to her boyfriend and mother that Jewell sexually abused her. The disclosures were then relayed to authorities.

The State charged Jewell with two counts of Class B felony sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of Class C felony child molesting, one count of Class C felony sexual misconduct with a minor, and two counts of Class D felony child seduction. A jury found Jewell guilty on all six counts, and he was sentenced to an aggregate 40-year term for six counts of sexual misconduct and child molesting.

Texas – James Aaron Lenox

James Aaron Lenox (Image credit: Lone Star Fugitive Task Force)

51-year-old James Aaron Lenox took his victim to Planned Parenthood in Austin because she had never been to a doctor. He was arrested in early 2017 by the Texas’ Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, according to a report by KXAN. The article states that Lenox is accused of sex trafficking the 16-year-old.

According to reports, Lenox allegedly “gained guardianship over the girl, removed her from school, vowed to marry her and at one point threatened to kill her family.”

At the time of his arrest, police found nude pictures of the victim, with documents saying Lenox was the victim’s “uncle.” According to MySanAntonio.com:

After Lenox consented to a vehicle search, deputies found a briefcase containing separate folders. In one folder with a girl’s name on it, the deputies found several nude photos, documents state…. Lenox also allegedly took the girl to Planned Parenthood to get an IUD implanted, the documents said… the girl… was sexually assaulted by him…. Lenox is a registered sex offender who was convicted of indecency with a child via sexual contact in January 1989. The girl he molested was 8 years old.

KXAN reported Lenox told police that “he took the victim to Planned Parenthood in Austin because she had never been to a doctor. He told investigators the victim was worried about having some kind of disease. In an interview, the victim told police she had sexual encounters with Lenox.”

There was no indication in the article that Planned Parenthood contacted police. But whether they did or they did not, this tragic story illustrates how predators use Planned Parenthood, boldly taking their victims to the organization.

The article also notes that Lenox has been charged with trafficking a child — causing the child to engage in sexual conduct, a first degree felony.

Utah – Jose Cazares-Montalvo

Image: Utah sex predator takes teen to Planned Parenthood

Utah sex predator takes teen to Planned Parenthood

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, a 34-year-old man has been charged with 12 counts of rape, after sexually abusing a 15-year-old teen and allegedly taking the child to three Planned Parenthood facilities to attempt to obtain an abortion after he impregnated her.

The only roadblock this male sex predator received from Planned Parenthood was that it was required by state law to obtain parental consent for the abortion. When the predator was told that a parent or guardian must sign for the procedure, he took matters into his own hands, by allegedly giving the teen “a drink to induce a miscarriage.”

The paper did not name the perpetrator (though a second media outlet published the name as Jose Casares-Montalvo), but indicated that the call to police originated not from Planned Parenthood, but from the victim’s mother after she “found a plastic bottle of the liquid mixture in the teen’s room,” telling police that “she suspected her daughter had been raped, according to court documents.”

According to the media report, the predator admitted to police that he took the victim to Planned Parenthood, and “other documents accuse the man of trying to get the abortion ‘to hide what he had done.’”

Live Action News has previously documented cases in which Planned Parenthood staffers were accused of sexual abuse or harassment, as well as cases documenting what happens when sex trafficking victims are taken to abortion and Planned Parenthood facilities. A 2014 report from the Annals of Health Law, “Health Consequences of Sex Trafficking,” quotes one victim claiming that the reason she was taken to Planned Parenthood was because “Planned Parenthood didn’t ask any questions.”

Live Action previously released its own child sexual abuse investigation, which found that eight Planned Parenthood facilities in six different states were willing to cover up sexual abuse, including disregarding mandatory reporting laws of suspected statutory rape.

In addition, another undercover investigation by Live Action caught Planned Parenthood staffers willing to aid undercover investigators, posing as sex traffickers. Below is a compilation reel of that investigation:

Today, Planned Parenthood receives half a billion in tax dollars annually, thanks to Congress, which continues to fund the organization despite its known abuses and despite regulations showing that government dollars can be removed when providers of Title X Family Planning funds fail to report child abuse. And, just like the Harvey Weinsteins of the world, Planned Parenthood has its own complicity machine made up in part by the media and politicians who give them cover while they aid in the continued abuse of children.

Live Action has begun releasing its docuseries and investigative report showing Planned Parenthood’s failure to report the ongoing sexual abuse of young girls who enter its facilities for abortions. Live Action News has documented many cases showing that this is not isolated where Planned Parenthood is concerned. Today, as the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements demand that those who help hide or cover abuse are also called to account, Live Action’s Aiding Abusersdocuseries is proving, yet again, that Planned Parenthood continues to get a pass from the media and Hollywood elites — as well as from the politicians who continue to fund them.

Tragically, because of the complicity machine surrounding Planned Parenthood and its refusal to view these young women as sexual assault victims, young victims of sexual abuse are often abused further. Live Action News continues to uncover cases that indicate Planned Parenthood is not doing its due diligence to protect young victims of sexual abuse — and in many cases, isn’t asking about it and is failing to report it.

Live Action president and founder Lila Rose stated in a press release:

Live Action is releasing this report as the Time’s Up movement is exposing both sexual abusers and those who help them cover up their crimes — the people who knew about the abuse but stayed silent. While Planned Parenthood has attached itself to the Time’s Up movement, the movement should be calling out Planned Parenthood for decades of enabling sexual abusers.

Texas: Patrick Charles Lee

When a 14-year-old sexual assault victim shows up at Planned Parenthood, it rarely raises alarm. In reality, it should. If the child lies or fails to tell Planned Parenthood that she was raped or assaulted, should this not still raise some red flags?

Such was the case of a 14-year-old rape victim in Texas who testified that on the day of the assault, she stayed home from school because she was not feeling well. That’s when the victim’s step father, Patrick Charles Lee came into her room and started “wrestling” with the young teen. Then, the girl told the court that he put a knife against her neck and instructed her to take off her clothes, after which he proceeded to sexually assault her. The victim testified that she kept screaming, “Daddy, why are you doing this to me?”

According to the court document:

After the assaults, appellant threw the victim’s clothes at her and told her to get dressed. The victim testified that she went to Planned Parenthood two days after the assault. She did not tell anyone at Planned Parenthood about the assaults because she was afraid. She stated that she did not truthfully answer the medical questionnaire from Planned Parenthood. The victim told her sister what appellant had done about a week after the offense. The offense was then reported to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.

Thankfully, due to the courage of the victim and her sister, Lee was subsequently indicted on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. According to the court record, the jury convicted Lee and assessed his punishment at fifteen years confinement on each offense, and the trial court ordered the sentences to run consecutively.

Connecticut: Sage Robert Lanza

In January of 2018, a Connecticut man received a suspended 10-year sentence behind bars, after having sex with two underage victims, ages 12 and 14, one whom he impregnated and took for an abortion at Planned Parenthood.  According to media reports, the sexual encounters between 18-year-old Sage Robert Lanza and the then 14-year-old victim took place between February of 2014 and April of 2015, resulting in a pregnancy in November of 2014.

According to reports, after Lanza impregnated the teen, he pressured her to have an abortion, made the appointment for her and then drove her to the Planned Parenthood in Enfield.

A closer look at this timeline indicates the possibility that Planned Parenthood failed to report any suspicion of abuse. Two news articles published by Journal Inquirer give the following specific dates:

  • Lanza impregnated the teen in November of 2014 and then made an appointment for her at Planned Parenthood in Enfield.
  • The victim claims Lanza forced her to have an abortion in January of 2015.
  • 197 text messages were exchanged between the victim and Lanza from September 2014 to May 2015, months after the Planned Parenthood abortion.
  • Police were not notified until July of 2015, nearly six months after the teen was taken to Planned Parenthood.

A report by the Journal Inquirer quotes from arrest records that also indicate Planned Parenthood never filed a report:

The older girl told authorities that her relationship with Lanza began in February 2014, when she was a 14-year-old virgin and he was an 18-year-old high school senior. She said the relationship continued to April 2015 and included intercourse “at least four times a week,” later waning to “a couple of times per week.”

…Although Lanza used birth control about “99 percent of the time,” according to the girl, she said she got pregnant by him in November 2014, when she was 14.

She said he forced her to have an abortion in January 2015. The affidavit doesn’t explain how the girl contends that Lanza forced her to have the abortion. But it does say that he made an appointment for her at Planned Parenthood in Enfield and that he and his father took her to a clinic, where she received pills to induce the abortion.

The girl’s mother reported that Lanza had the date of the abortion tattooed on his back. Thomas [the Enfield police detective in the case] reported that he found a public Facebook page with a photo showing the date “1-6-15” tattooed on what appeared to be Lanza’s back. The detective said medical records show that is the date the girl was scheduled to take the pill to cause the abortion. He added that a later medical examination at Planned Parenthood confirmed that her uterus was empty.

…She [the victim] reported the situation to police in early July 2015, when she was 15.

According to the Journal Inquirer, the now 15-year-old victim also revealed details of the sexual encounter between Lanza and the 12-year-old girl. Lanza was subsequently arrested in April 2016, and according to Deputy Chief Gary Collins, was charged with first degree sexual assault on a minor, fourth degree sexual assault on a minor and two separate counts of risk of injury to a child.

In 2018, Judge Laura F. Baldini gave Lanza a 10-year sentence, suspended after two years behind bars, followed by five years of probation.

Michigan: Lovell Charles Sharpe

A 56-year-old Michigan man was charged by the state with multiple counts of first, third, and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct after accusations that he sexually abused and impregnated a 14-year-old child with learning disabilities and then paid for her subsequent abortion at a Planned Parenthood facility.

According to an appeal filed in the case of Lovell Charles Sharpe to determine if evidence about the abortion and the fact that the victim had no sexual partners other than defendant could be submitted as evidence under the rape shield statute, Sharpe began abusing the teen (referred to in court documents as DM) between December 2013 and January 2014 when she was 13 or 14 years old.  The court documents indicate that Sharpe was staying with the teen while the victim’s mother, referred to as RL, was hospitalized. The child did not inform the mother about the abuse when she returned to the home.

The Court of Appeals record indicates that in October of 2014:

DM went to Henry Ford Hospital after her mother received a letter indicating that DM had an abnormal test result and needed to see the doctor again. At that time, DM underwent a pregnancy test, which came back positive. DM had not been showing any signs of pregnancy, and she and her mother were unaware that she was pregnant before they received the test results. Before she went to the hospital, DM was unaware of how a woman became pregnant, and Henry Ford staff had to explain the process to her.

In November of 2014, according to a brief filed before the Michigan Supreme Court, “Defendant offered to pay and did pay for half of the abortion, without any expectation of being reimbursed.” The court document indicates that, at the time of the abortion, the child’s mother was unaware that Sharpe had allegedly impregnated her daughter and goes on to note that, “RL continued to ask the victim how she got pregnant, but she would not tell her.”

As a result, the victim’s mother took her to Planned Parenthood, where she underwent an abortion:

In his appeal before the state’s Supreme Court, Sharpe’s attorney is challenging whether the abortion should be admissible after the Court of Appeals found that evidence of the victim’s pregnancy, abortion, and lack of sexual partners was admissible. The defense contends the trial court was correct to suppress the abortion and the claim that the victim with learning disabilities was a virgin, prior to the alleged abuse. And, they also contend that because no DNA evidence was collected, the abortion cannot prove the defendant, in this case, Lovell Sharpe, was the the person who sexually assaulted the child.

The fact is, had the hospital or Planned Parenthood viewed the pregnancy of this 14-year-old girl with learning disabilities with suspicion of possible abuse, and actually reported the abuse, DNA would most likely have been collected and preserved during the abortion. But pedophiles know full well that abortions will protect them from criminal prosecution. Abortion benefits sexual abusers.

The state contended that by Sharpe paying for the Planned Parenthood abortion, this was evidence of Sharpe’s “desire to dispose of the evidence of his vaginal penetration of the victim.”

“Defendant would have the trial court exclude both evidence of the pregnancy and subsequent abortion because there is no DNA preserved to confirm defendant’s involvement. But defendant fails to accept responsibility for this lack of evidence, as defendant himself participated in destroying the evidence he claims is required, and now wishes to benefit from his actions.”

Tragically, after the abortion at Planned Parenthood, the court record states that the young teen victim “kept to herself and became really depressed.” In fact, DM remained silent about her abuse until after Sharpe and her mother ended their relationship in April 2015. This was nearly five months after being taken to Planned Parenthood for the abortion. As of the writing of this article, the case is ongoing and is under appeal with Michigan Supreme Court.

Iowa: Ritchie Lee Lathrop

Ritchie Lee Lathrop was 27 years old when he met his 15-year-old victim, referred to in court documents as C.W.

Lathrop and C.W. began “dating” in March 2005, and soon thereafter they began a sexual relationship, which they kept secret upon Lathrop’s request. Although the record does not say that CW became pregnant, she did go to Planned Parenthood for birth control pills for “protection” while allegedly engaging in sex with the adult predator.

The court document indicates that the sexual relationship continued after the victim visited Planned Parenthood, and did not end for over a year after:

On March 25, 2005, C.W. visited Planned Parenthood. After she obtained birth control pills, she and Lathrop began having sex “at least every other weekend, if not more.” Lathrop gave C.W. a “promise ring” in the summer of 2005. He told her the ring meant, “You’re mine.” Their relationship ended in July 2006, when C.W. broke up with Lathrop.

On December 1, 2006, the state charged Lathrop with third-degree sexual abuse. Following a jury trial which commenced on February 14, 2007, Lathrop was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse.

Alaska: Jason Thomas Rogers

In a case out of Alaska, where Planned Parenthood already believes that all abortions are “medically necessary,” an adult man took his 12-year-old stepdaughter to Planned Parenthood for birth control, and all indications are that Planned Parenthood did not file a report for suspicion of child sexual abuse. As a result, the child was returned into the arms of her abuser to be sexually abused for several additional years. In addition, the predator, Jason Thomas Rogers, was also accused of abusing the victim’s young friend.

Media reports indicate that Rogers was arrested in 2009 on several charges of child molestation. According to Rogers’ criminal court appeal, his step daughter, referred to as E.C. in the court record, testified how “Rogers had sexually abused her from the time she was nine years old until the time she was sixteen.”

It goes on to state that the two engaged in vaginal sex, “after Rogers had taken the precaution of obtaining birth control for E.C.”

The court document notes that the birth control was obtained from Planned Parenthood:

E.C.’s testimony that Rogers took her to Planned Parenthood on her twelfth birthday to get birth control, and that Rogers then began to have vaginal sex with her. The State called a witness from Planned Parenthood to verify that E.C. had come to the clinic and had received birth control.

The court record clearly indicates that police were not notified until the victim had turned 16, several years after the pedophile took the child to Planned Parenthood. According to the record, in 2009 the victim was admitted to the North Star Behavioral Health Center, where she “told a staff member that she had been sexually abused, and the Office of Children’s Services was notified.”

Rogers was charged with 11 counts of sexual abuse of a minor — 10 counts involving E.C., and one count involving her school friend. The jury ultimately convicted Rogers of five counts of sexual abuse.

West Virginia: George Michael Puskas II

A sexual predator out of West Virginia also drove his victim to Planned Parenthood for birth control so he could be assured his sexual encounters would be kept secret.

According to the Department of Justice, not only did former police officer George Michael Puskas II engage in a sexual relationship with the minor victim, but he took several pictures showing the two of them having sex. A review of the civil case filed by the victim and published by the West Virginia Record reveals that, the victim, “first met Puskas in 2001 when she accompanied her mother and brother to soccer games. At the time, she was eight years old, and he was a coach for her brother’s team.”

Then, three years later, according to the lawsuit, the victim claims that:

Puskas began grooming her sexually when she began refereeing soccer games. A year later, the relationship allegedly became physical when, after helping her off the field following an injury to her knee, Puskas said “he loved her and kissed her on the lips.”

…When she was 14 year old, she alleges he expressed his desire that her first sexual experience be with him, and, on an unspecified date, sent a nude photo of himself…. Sometime after her 16th birthday…[the victim] alleges Puskas checked them into an unspecified hotel in Ripley where they had sex…[the victim] says she was fearful of telling anyone about her encounters with Puskas because she alleges he threatened to kill her if she did.

According to a criminal action court order, which quotes from an affidavit submitted by Sgt. David C. Eldridge of the West Virginia State Police, “the victim advised that during the period that she and Puskas were sexually active, he would drive her to a Planned Parenthood Clinic in Parkersburg, West Virginia, so that she could receive birth control injections.”

The criminal action court order goes on to state that Puskas and the victim, “engaged in sexual intercourse almost daily from March 2010 to April 2011, during a period when she would have been 16 and 17 years of age.”

The victim told authorities that Puskas would use a digital camera which she states was issued to him by the Ripley Police Department to take, “hundreds of digital photographs and several videos of the two of them engaged in sexual activities at different locations, including his residence.”

The court record does not say whether or not Planned Parenthood was suspicious of the couple, but it does reveal, yet again, how pedophiles are comfortable taking their victims to the abortion corporation.

In 2012, Puskas resigned from the Ripley Police Department, according to a report by WSAZ. In 2013, the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.

Washington State: George Savanah

Earlier this year, Live Action News documented the horrific sexual abuse case of George Edward Savanah, who sexually abused his 14-year-old daughter, impregnating her three times, then took her to two different Planned Parenthood facilities for abortions.

A brief filed in the case reveals:

  • Savanah raped his daughter for the first time on Christmas Eve of 2007, when R was 14 years old.
  • Savanah had sex with R several times a week for the next seven years.
  • When she cried, he told her to “shut up and take it like a woman.”
  • The last time Savanah had sex with R was about a week before Easter in 2014.

The first abortion at Planned Parenthood took place in 2007 and the third abortion occurred in 2012. Let that timeline sink in for one moment. In all those years, while Planned Parenthood appears to have failed to suspect and report the possibility of abuse, this victim was being repeatedly raped by her abuser. In fact, the court record indicates that no one else knew about the young victim’s pregnancies, which only came to the attention of the authorities once the victim, not Planned Parenthood, spoke to her aunt about the abuse, nearly seven years after the victim was taken for her first abortion at Planned Parenthood.

Read more about this horrific case and Planned Parenthood’s complicity in the victim’s ongoing abuse here.

Planned Parenthood should not be exempt from the same scrutiny that recently cost Hollywood actors, producers, sports members, coaches, media personalities, and politicians their jobs, when it has been documented that the organization was complicit in the ongoing abuse of victims. The bar should be far higher for this organization, which receives over half a billion dollars from the taxpayer and millions in Title X funds while continuing to cover for child sexual abusers.
