Planned Parenthood Abortion Corporation

Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion market.

Former employees of the abortion organization have admitted that, contrary to the organization’s claim that abortion makes up only 3% of its services, everything Planned Parenthood does has the end goal of abortion. As Planned Parenthood’s government funding increases (it’s currently around half a billion dollars annually), so does Planned Parenthood’s share of abortions (35 percent) in the United States, even while abortion numbers are decreasing nationally.

But this trend toward Planned Parenthood’s increasing market share isn’t just a national one. In states which record abortions by facility, statistics show that Planned Parenthood centers perform a large percentage of state abortions, and those market shares are on the increase as well. States that publish lists of licensed abortion facilities show that Planned Parenthood is crushing its competitors.

ARIZONA: A list of licensed abortion clinics (last updated in July of 2016), reveals that 50 percent of abortion facilities in Arizona are Planned Parenthood centers.

ARKANSAS: Two-thirds of the licensed abortion facilities in Arkansas were Planned Parenthood centers as of December 2016. The list, published by the Arkansas Department of Health, has since been removed.

CONNECTICUT: A report to the State Legislature in 2014 indicated that 4 out of 6 facilities offering abortions were Planned Parenthood centers. However, a 2016 report published by the Bridgeport Diocese indicates there may now be as many as 18 licensed abortion centers in the state. A January 2017 query at CT.gov reveals that all but one of those 18 facilities is a Planned Parenthood facility. This means that Planned Parenthood makes up more than 94 percent of the state’s abortion clinics.

FLORIDA: Nearly 24 percent (15 out of 60) of licensed abortion facilities in Florida are Planned Parenthood centers, according to a query of abortion clinics conducted at the Agency for Healthcare Administration in September of 2017.

GEORGIA: One-third of the abortion facilities in Georgia are Planned Parenthood centers, according to a searchable site at the Georgia Department of Community Health. Today Planned Parenthood advertises online that at least half of its facilities commit abortions.

KANSAS: The Kansas Department of Health and Environment shows Planned Parenthood’s Overland Park facility is the only licensed facility in the state, despite the fact that the Wichita Planned Parenthood advertises abortion services. At least one other abortion facility exists.

MARYLAND: 17 percent of Maryland’s twelve licensed abortion facilities are Planned Parenthood centers, according to a list published by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on September 1, 2017. It should be pointed out that five Planned Parenthoods offer abortion services online, despite only two being licensed. If we add those into the mix, (7 out of 12) the figure changes to 42 percent.

MISSOURI: 100% of licensed abortion facilities in Missouri are Planned Parenthoods, according to a September 2017 list published by the Missouri Department of Health. The state recorded a total of 7,474 abortions for 2015.

NORTH CAROLINA: Planned Parenthood abortion facilities made up 33 percent (5 out of 15) of the licensed abortion clinics in North Carolina, according to a list published by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. However, online, Planned Parenthood advertises abortion services at six locations, which would bring the figure to 40 percent.

OKLAHOMA: Planned Parenthood makes up 25 percent of the state’s licensed abortion facilities, according to a directory published by the Oklahoma State Department of Health in September 2017.

PENNSYLVANIA: A query of licensed abortion facilities in Pennsylvania revealed that nearly 37 percent (7 out of 19) were Planned Parenthood facilities. The list appears to be outdated but does give a snapshot of Planned Parenthood’s abortion performance in the state. According to research conducted by the Pennsylvania Family Institute, in 2015, Planned Parenthood performed 17,513 abortions in Pennsylvania — 55 percent of the state’s total abortions (31,818), an increase of 2.5 percent from 2014. PFI notes:

Statewide abortions have decreased by 7,000 annually since 2008 while Planned Parenthood abortions in PA have increased by more than 1,500 annually over the same time period.

SOUTH CAROLINA: In 2015, 11,643 abortions were reported to the state of South Carolina. A September 2017 list of licensed abortion facilities, published by the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control Division of Health Licensing, reveals that Planned Parenthood currently makes up 100% of the licensed abortion facilities in the state.

SOUTH DAKOTA: Planned Parenthood centers are also 100% of licensed abortion facilities in South Dakota, according to a September 2017 query of licensed abortion providers with the state. The most recent abortion statistics show that 444 abortions were committed in South Dakota in 2015.

TEXAS: Almost 63 percent of licensed abortion facilities (5 out of 8) in Texas are Planned Parenthood centers, according to an online list at the Texas Department of State Health Services accessed in September of 2017.

A list published by the largest association of professional abortion providers, the National Abortion Federation (NAF), demonstrates further how Planned Parenthood dominates the abortion market. While it may be true that not every abortion facility is necessarily a member of NAF in every state (including some Planned Parenthood facilities), the list below (researched in January 2017) shows just how much Planned Parenthood dominates among NAF members. The numbers below represent the percentage of NAF abortion facilities which are Planned Parenthood centers:

  • Colorado: 73 percent (11 out of 15)
  • Delaware: 75 percent (3 out of 4)
  • Minnesota: 33 percent (2 of 6)
  • Nevada: Almost 29 percent (2 of 7)
  • New Hampshire: 40 percent (2 out of 5)
  • New Jersey: 94 percent (17 out of 18)
  • New Mexico: 40 percent (2 of 5)
  • New York: 72 percent (21 out of 29)
  • Oregon: 83 percent (5 of 6)
  • Pennsylvania: 43 Percent (6 out of 14)
  • Tennessee: 25 percent
  • Utah: 50 percent (1 out of 2)
  • Vermont: 100 percent (5 out of 5)
  • Washington: 30 percent (3 of 10)

Simply doing an internet search for abortion turns up predominantly Planned Parenthood centers, with the exception of a few other abortion businesses.

Planned Parenthood claims to offer other services such as anemia testing, cholesterol screening, diabetes screening, physical exams (including for employment and sports), flu vaccines, help with quitting smoking, screening for high blood pressure, tetanus vaccines, thyroid screening, and more. And yet, Planned Parenthood’s website rarely appears in the top searches for any of these services.

On the other hand, if you Google “abortion pill,” “get abortion,” “abortion cost,” “abortion info,” “where can I get an abortion,” “early abortion,” “abortion 20 weeks,” “abortion medical,” “abortion options,” “make abortion appointment” – Planned Parenthood is there.

The reason for this is simple: Planned Parenthood is primarily an abortion corporation which does not serve the entire health spectrum of society. And the clients Planned Parenthood does serve are dwindling year after year. What else is dwindling? Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion services.

Planned Parenthood may claim its purpose is as a “health care” agency, but numbers from official reports show otherwise. Today, Planned Parenthood will receive $1.5 million in taxpayer dollars, while ending the lives of 900 preborn babies.

It is long past time to defund Planned Parenthood.

Here are a dozen things the media won’t tell you about Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood should be defunded. Despite all its scandals over the years, the pro-abortion mainstream media has largely kept the evidence of this from taxpayers. Perhaps it’s because the media approves of Planned Parenthood’s agenda, and the agenda of the politicians who defend the organization.

The media manipulates the American public by refusing to tell the truth about Planned Parenthood’s abuses, a fact Live Action News previously documented. Instead, the media repeats Planned Parenthood’s PR-approved talking points while failing to report important investigations exposing Planned Parenthood’s lies and deceptions.

Here are some facts about Planned Parenthood that mainstream media has failed to report:

Fact #1: Planned Parenthood is a private corporation whose political action committee contributes heavily to the same politicians sending them millions of dollars each year — over half a billion annually. PP is a master manipulator and marketer politically and this drives the dollars politicians send them. Planned Parenthood’s CEO, Cecile Richards, was not hired for her health care “experience” but for her political savvy, as Live Action News’ Rebecca Downs has explained:

Planned Parenthood may claim to be a health organization, but Richards herself has no health experience — her background is in politics, a background which even the Planned Parenthood website emphasizes. In addition to running Planned Parenthood, she also runs Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which is — you guessed it — a political organization. After Richards spoke before Congress in September 2015, the Oversight Committee expressed concerns that there was an overlap in where Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer money was going. Are Planned Parenthood and Planned Parenthood Action Fund really so different?

Fact #2: Planned Parenthood masquerades as a health care provider. This scheme to reinvent themselves was developed years ago, as Live Action News has detailed here, to mask the fact that they are the largest chain of abortion facilities in the United States.

Fact #3: There are thousands of federally qualified health centers which provide far superior health care to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood has lost more than half a million patients (600,000) since 2011. Yet, taxpayer-funded health centers, as identified by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), increased patients by over 2 million by 2015, providing care to 24,295,946.

Fact #4: Planned Parenthood services are on the decline despite major increases in government funding. Except, of course, when it comes to abortion, where Planned Parenthood garners nearly 35 percent of the market share.

  • MAMMOGRAMS: Planned Parenthood performed zero, because Planned Parenthood facilities do not have mammogram machines. Yet, in 2015, federal health centers performed mammograms on over 521,000 patient,  an increase from 470,000 in 2014.
  • BREAST EXAMS dropped 12 percent in 2015 at Planned Parenthood, and between 2004 and 2015, breast exams at Planned Parenthood declined by more than 65 percent.
  • PAP TESTS: Planned Parenthood’s 2015 report reveals that Pap tests declined 75 percent from 2004. Yet, in 2015, federal health centers administered over 1.8 million Pap tests to patients — an increase from 1.7 million in 2014.
  • CANCER SCREENINGS declined at Planned Parenthood from last year’s figures, and, between 2004 and 2015, cancer screenings there plummeted 69 percent.
  • PRENATAL CARE: Planned Parenthood is deceptive about providing prenatal care, which was nearly cut in half in 2015. Since 2010, prenatal care at Planned Parenthood has decreased nearly 70 percent. Yet, in 2015, federal health centers cared for a total of 552,000 prenatal patients — an increase from 528,000 prenatal patients in 2014.

Fact #5: Planned Parenthood claims defunding their organization will hurt poor women yet Planned Parenthood’s own officials rake in hefty six digit salaries, getting regular raises. An analysis of CEO compensation at Planned Parenthood by STOPP revealed that the top 68 people at Planned Parenthood take home $18.1 million combined.

Fact #6: Planned Parenthood has been netting a profit for many years, exceeding its expenses — not just by a few dollars, but by tens of millions of dollars (yearly surpluses range from $12.2 million in 2001 to a high of $155.5 million in 2010).

Fact #7: Women can die after receiving Planned Parenthood’s “services.” Cree Erwin-Sheppard recently died after her abortion at a Michigan Planned Parenthood. Tonya Reaves was left bleeding inside Planned Parenthood’s Chicago facility for hours. She died later at a hospital.

Abortion deaths and injuries at Planned Parenthood (image by Operation Rescue)

Fact #8: Emergencies at Planned Parenthood are on the rise. The pro-life watchdog group Operation Rescue (OR) has documented that a number of Planned Parenthood centers have had to call for emergency transports of patients. OR reports that “since January 1, 2016, Operation Rescue has documented 40 such incidents at Planned Parenthood abortion centers alone.”

Fact #9: Undercover footage from the Center for Medical Progress caught Planned Parenthood haggling over prices for aborted baby parts. Planned Parenthood’s CEO admitted they still participate in fetal harvesting, saying at the time, “Planned Parenthood is proud of its limited role in supporting fetal tissue research.”

The House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives‘ final report into the fetal parts industry found several disturbing issues with Planned Parenthood. Live Action News contributor Susan Michelle-Hanson reviewed the 471-page report and noted that Planned Parenthood “committed systematic violations of the HIPAA Privacy Rule from about 2010 to 2015, and that “violations occurred when the abortion clinics disclosed patients’ individually identifiable health information to StemExpress to facilitate the [tissue procurement business]’s efforts to procure human fetal tissue for resale.”

Fact #10: Planned Parenthood has violated the trust of patients by violating patient privacy, as stated above. In addition, an analysis by Live Action News found many other instances of privacy leaks by the government funded abortion business.

Fact #11: Planned Parenthood has been cited for overbilling abuses and has been accused of Medicaid fraud.

2017 report, conducted by the Charlotte Lozier Institute and Alliance Defending Freedom, looked at publicly available audits and discovered several egregious examples of fraud and abuse associated with Planned Parenthood.

Among other abuses, the study found:

  • Planned Parenthood affiliates have been identified as the source of at least $12.8 million in waste, abuse, and potentially fraudulent overbilling and penalties.
  • One audit uncovered $5.2 million in overbilling by two California Planned Parenthood affiliates; the average overbilled amount per audited year in a single audit was $94,409.
  • Three federal audits specifically identify Planned Parenthood – and only Planned Parenthood– as the problem in state family planning program overbilling.

Fact #12: Planned Parenthood has been caught failing to report child sexual abuse (a violation that alone should result in the organization losing millions of taxpayer dollars granted to it under the federal Title X Family Planning Program). Reports also found that victims of sex trafficking are sometimes taken to Planned Parenthood centers for forced abortions by their pimps.

So, when it comes to health care for women, Planned Parenthood is far from the worthy organization it claims to be. The bottom line is that American taxpayer should not be obligated or forced to hand millions of dollars to an abortion corporation with fraud and serious abuses on their record.

Why did Senator Lisa Murkowski vote to make taxpayers support Planned Parenthood, Alaska’s number one abortion provider?

Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) are being lauded by Planned Parenthood after the two Republican lawmakers voted against a repeal of ObamaCare because they did not want to defund the abortion corporation for one year. Murkowski and Collins are now making the rounds, touting Planned Parenthood as a health organization that women cannot live without. This, however, is totally untrue. Federal health centers, which outnumber Planned Parenthood by the thousands nationally, offer a wide range of primary care services as well as services identical to those offered by Planned Parenthood – except abortion, which is not healthcare, as clearly seen in the video below, in which former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino explains the most common type of abortion procedure:

These two Republican Senators are deceiving their constituents about the “services” Planned Parenthood provides while walking in lock step with the largest abortion chain in the United States.

In part one of this two-part series, we will examine Planned Parenthood’s services in Murkowski’s state of Alaska. In part two, we will scrutinize Planned Parenthood’s services in Maine and compare them to the claims of Senator Collins.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska)

Senator Murkowski has spoken out of both sides of her mouth regarding Planned Parenthood for years. She once stated, “Taxpayer dollars should never be used to pay for abortions, but I will not vote to deny Alaskans access to the health services that Planned Parenthood provides.”

To Planned Parenthood’s benefit, Murkowski has kept that promise. In refusing to repeal ObamaCare, Murkowski has kept the nation’s largest abortion corporation funded to the tune of half a billion dollars annually. In doing this, she has also chosen to allocate vital health dollars away from more worthy federal health centers which offer a vast array of primary care services to women, men and children.

Live Action News has previously shown that Planned Parenthood has seen dramatic decreases in services like contraception, Pap tests, cancer screenings, and breast exams –  all while the organization’s government funding and abortions are increasing nationally.

And state trends are not so different from national numbers. In fact, Planned Parenthood is Alaska’s largest abortion provider. So how, in good conscience, can Senator Murkowski continually vote to keep taxpayer funding for the organization while ignoring this fact?

Here are some numbers from Murkowski’s state of Alaska:

Facilities

Planned Parenthood operates just four centers in Alaska, yet there are 29 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) which provide services at 177 sites in Alaska, according to the Rural Health Info hub.

Patients

While Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands saw 79,532 patients in 2015 in the four states they oversee, federal health centers – listed under the Health Resources Services Administration’swebsite (HRSA) – saw 110,494 in Alaska alone.

When factoring in the additional three states (see numbers below) the federal health center numbers reveal how vast the federal program is compared to Planned Parenthood.

A look at Planned Parenthood’s own website shows that in Alaska the organization claims to serve 7,295 clients for whom they provided the services such as:

  • Contraception
  • STI tests
  • Cancer screenings

A media report claimed that just 4500 of Planned Parenthood’s clients in Alaska rely on Medicaid. That reduces the numbers drastically. Despite this, as previously pointed out, federal health centers cared for over 110,000 patients in 2015.

Contraception Care:

An analysis conducted by Planned Parenthood’s former “special affiliate,” the Guttmacher Institute, which reviewed Planned Parenthood centers (PP), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and Title X facilities for 2015 revealed:

  • 5 out of 28 counties in Alaska which provided publicly funded contraception care had at least one Planned Parenthood.
  • 27 counties had at least one FQHC site that provided contraception services.
  • 23 counties had no Planned Parenthood centers.
  • Slightly more than 3 percent (5 out of 157) of publicly funded family planning centers were operated by Planned Parenthood.
  • PP served 19 percent of contraception clients while FQHC sites served 45 percent.
  • In 4 of the 5 counties that had a Planned Parenthood, PP served fewer contraception clients than FQHC sites.

PP versus FQHC Contraception Care Alaska 2015 per Guttmacher

Cancer Screenings:

While Planned Parenthood’s website claims the abortion corporation provided 2,667 cancer screenings in Alaska, a breakdown of clinical services published by HRSA shows that in 2015 alone, 43.3 percent (nearly 48,000) of the 110,494 patients served by federal health centers in the state received cervical cancer screenings there.

Abortions:

Planned Parenthood in Alaska is operated by Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands (PPGNHI), which runs centers in four states: Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, and Washington.

PPGNHI was formed in April of 2015 from a merger between Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest (PPGNW) and Planned Parenthood of Hawaii (PPHI).

In 2014, while cancer screenings made up just 8 percent of PPGNW’s services, abortions were 12 percent of the services PPGNW provided. In that same year (just prior to their merger) while PPHI’s abortion services totaled a whopping 21 percent, cancer screenings and annual exams at Planned Parenthood of Hawaii were just 5 percent of what it provided.

PPHI – more abortions than cancer screenings in 2014

By 2015, the affiliate’s annual report showed that abortion made up 13 percent of services, while cancer screenings were 11 percent of services. The vast majority of the services provided were family planning at 48 percent and HIV testing and treatment at 26 percent. Pregnancy testing was only one percent of the services PPGNWHI provided. Government grants totaled 19 percent of the affiliate’s revenue.

PPGNW – more abortions than cancer screenings

Statistics published by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Bureau of Vital Statistics show that in 2015, a total of 1,334 induced terminations were reported to the state. According to numbers made public in a recent lawsuit, Planned Parenthood committed 1,300 of those 1,334 abortions, making them the provider of 97 percent of all abortions in Alaska.

Tax Funded Abortions:

PP in Alaska pushed Medicaid for abortion customer

Live Action News has documented that Planned Parenthood abortionists in Alaska believe all abortions are “medically necessary,” thereby justifying the use of taxpayer funds to end the lives of preborn children in the state.

A recent call made by a Live Action investigator documented a Planned Parenthood staffer in Alaska coaching a prospective abortion patient as to how she could receive taxpayer-funded Medicaid to pay for her abortion.

Statistics published by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Bureau of Vital Statistics show that in 2015, 32.8 percent of the women who obtained abortions used Medicaid to pay for their abortions. In 2016, despite a decrease in the state’s abortions, those that were taxpayer-funded increased to 44.1 percent.

Medicaid (tax) funded abortions in Alaska 2015

According to the Alaska Induced Termination of Pregnancy Statistics reports, which include the total number of abortions covered by Medicaid, state taxpayers paid $135,637 for abortions in 2015 and $153,208 in 2016.

The truth is that every day, senators like Murkowski and Collins stand in the way of Congressional efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, and that means the American people will be forced to continue giving $1.5 million each day to an abortion business which will continue to kill 900 innocent preborn children every day.

Federal Health Centers (FQHCs) can handle Planned Parenthood patients if defunded

Posted in FQHC, HRSA, Planned Parenthood abortion stats, Planned Parenthood and FQHC with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 3, 2017 by saynsumthn

Could Federally Qualified Health Centers handle Planned Parenthood’s patient load? The data says yes.

Despite the fact that Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) provide comprehensive health services to women, the media continues to prop up Planned Parenthood as if it is the only provider of women’s reproductive healthcare. While Planned Parenthood continues to receive over half a billion dollars in annual taxpayer funding, its patient load and services continues to decrease, year after year.

If major media outlets would analyze Planned Parenthood’s own reports (as Live Action has done), perhaps they would notice that while the organization has increased its abortion market share, its other services — like Pap tests, breast exams, and even contraception services — have decreased significantly.

Ignoring these facts, the prevailing claim by the media – often quoting the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood’s former research arm and “special affiliate” – is that if Planned Parenthood is defunded, women will have no place to go to receive health services.

This claim is patently false and was previously dismantled by the defenders of ObamaCare:

study on the effects of the Affordable Care Act, conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and health care company Athenahealth, which gathered data from 15,700 of Athenahealth’s clients, found that new patient visits to primary care physicians only increased slightly. It was anticipated that uninsured patients now gaining insurance might have unmet medical needs, and their demand for services might overwhelm the capacity of primary care doctors. But according to the study, this idea proved false. Kathy Hempstead, director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, told USA Today that the study “suggests that, even though there’s been a big increase in coverage, it’s a relatively small part of the market and the delivery system is able to handle the demand.”

In other words, yes, FQHCs can handle Planned Parenthood’s patient load. After all, Planned Parenthood has lost more than half a million patients (600,000) since 2011, while taxpayer-funded health centers, as identified by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), saw a 2 million patient increase by 2015, providing care to 24,295,946 patients.

Additional data shows:

  • In 2015, federal health centers performed mammograms on over 521,000 patients – an increase from 470,000 in 2014. Planned Parenthood performed zero, because Planned Parenthood facilities do not have mammogram machines.
  • In 2015, Planned Parenthood breast exams dropped 12 percent from 2014. Stunningly, from 2005 to 2015, breast exams declined by more that 62 percent (842,399 to 321,700).
  • In 2015, federal health centers administered over 1.8 million Pap tests to patients — an increase from 1.7 million in 2014Planned Parenthood‘s 2015 report reveals that between 2005 (1,116,681) and 2015 (293,799), Pap tests (tests for detecting cervical cancer) at Planned Parenthood declined nearly 74 percent (73.68%).
  • The most recent figures show that cancer screenings continue to decline at Planned Parenthood. From 2005 (2,009,835) to 2015 (665,234), cancer screenings plummeted nearly 67 percent (66.90%).
  • In 2015, federal health centers cared for a total of 552,000 prenatal patients — an increase from 528,000 prenatal patients in 2014; yet Planned Parenthood’s prenatal services were nearly cut in half in the last year (17,419 in 2014 to 9,419 in 2015) a trend that has continued for years. From 2005 (13,261) to 2015 (9419), prenatal care dropped nearly 29 percent (28.97%) .
  • Recently released Planned Parenthood numbers reveal that in 2015, contraception services at the abortion corporation decreased 4.6 percent from the previous year. In the past ten years (2005 vs. 2015), contraception services at Planned Parenthood decreased by 25 percent to their lowest in years.

Knowing that this data comes directly from Planned Parenthood, keep in mind where the media got its idea about FQHCs being unable to handle Planned Parenthood’s patient influx. It comes from a study conducted by Guttmacher, which compared the 2015 contraception care services at Planned Parenthood centers (PP), Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites, and Title X facilities.

However, a review of that study shows that the claim that defunding Planned Parenthood would leave women with no place to go is far-reaching and deceptive. Remember: Guttmacher is a former special affiliate to Planned Parenthood, and Guttmacher also receives taxpayer funding. It has also received funding from Planned Parenthood, so it has good incentive to keep these tax dollars flowing. As I noted in a previous article:

Ryan Bomberger of The Radiance Foundation also found evidence that indeed, in its 2007 tax filing, Planned Parenthood still listed Guttmacher as an “independent affiliated organization” which was receiving money from the abortion giant. Bomberger wrote, “Planned Parenthood… gave $2,142,076 of our tax dollars to their ‘research’ arm, Guttmacher….”

The money flowed both ways:

… [W]hile Planned Parenthood… was funneling money into Guttmacher,  Guttmacher was also receiving taxpayer dollars – and funneling a significant amount of money back to Planned Parenthood…. Guttmacher’s payouts to Planned Parenthood total around $40 million.

Guttmacher tax funding 2015 and 2016

In addition, this particular study’s focus was just contraceptive care, not on all the services offered by FQHCs.

In a May 2017 article, Guttmacher states:

In 2015, out of the over 9,600 total FQHC sites in the 50 states and the District of Columbia, 5,830 of them (60%) reported offering contraceptive care to at least 10 women each year; this subset of sites are counted among the nation’s 10,700 safety-net family planning centers.

If we break this down, we see that there are 9600 FQHC sites (which offer a vast array of health care services) while according to Guttmacher, only 60 percent offered contraception services to ten or more clients. That still leaves 5,830 sites.

But what about Planned Parenthood? Today, the organization’s website shows 600 facilities across the US – a decrease from the 800 it operated just ten years ago.

To compare, 600 Planned Parenthoods offer contraception services while almost 6,000 (5,830 according to Guttmacher) FQHCs offer those services. I’m just not seeing the problem here, even though Guttmacher says Planned Parenthood serves slightly more contraception clients than FQHCs do.

Even Guttmacher was forced to admit that “FQHCs now operate many more individual family planning sites than do Planned Parenthood affiliates” and that “Planned Parenthood health centers account for just 6% of all safety-net family planning providers.” Therefore, if Planned Parenthood is defunded, FQHCs could likely accommodate the influx of contraception patients. After all, it is possible that many of Planned Parenthood’s clients are already using FQHCs for primary care services not available at Planned Parenthood. And if that is the case, an influx of Planned Parenthood’s clients to FQHCs may not be nearly as large as their supporters claim. FQHC sites outnumber Planned Parenthoods in counties that provide contraception care in every state except Connecticut, Minnesota and the District of Columbia (table 1/page 1).

While politicians continue to force taxpayers to send Planned Parenthood half a billion dollars each year, the organization’s private donations have increased by 26 percent, swelling by an additional $92 million in 2015-2016. (The total private donations in 2015-2016 were $445.8 million.) This cash flow enabled Planned Parenthood to end its year with an excess of $77.5 million in 2015, an increase of nearly 39 percent from 2005 when they netted $55.8 million. Planned Parenthood has been netting a profit for many years, with yearly surpluses ranging from $12.2 million in 2001 to a high of $155.5 million in 2010).

At the same time, Planned Parenthood has lost over half a million patients, but has succeeded in cornering nearly 35 percent of the abortion market in the US, committing more than 320,000 abortions annually – 900 per day, one every 96 seconds.

American women do not need Planned Parenthood, and the taxpayers should no longer be forced to fund the largest abortion corporation in the nation..

An analysis of annual reports published by Planned Parenthood for the past 15 years has revealed that as government funding for the organization increased, Planned Parenthood’s share of the country’s abortions also increased. Since 2000, Planned Parenthood has performed over four million abortions and received almost $5 billion in federal tax dollars.

In 2014, Planned Parenthood received $553.7 million in federal tax dollars. In their 2014-2015 annual report, Planned Parenthood records performing 323,999 abortions their last fiscal year. This number is slightly lower than they reported a year prior. In that 2013-2014 annual report the number of abortions Planned Parenthood reported performing was 327,653 a decrease of 3,654 abortions.

While Planned Parenthood claims their numbers represent all abortions they performed, the report indicates that they also gave out 931,589 “emergency contraception kits.” Emergency contraception is thought by many to be abortive because they often prevent the embryo from attaching to the lining of the uterus after conception.

Although Planned Parenthood reports performing 323,999 abortions, they recorded referring only 2,024 women for adoption referrals to “other agencies.” This means that Planned Parenthood referred only one adoption for every 160 abortions they reported performing. In addition, that number also indicates that adoption referrals were only a tiny fraction of a percentage (.000021405) of their overall “services.”

Previous years of Planned Parenthood abortion stats are as follows:

HHS gives Planned Parenthood over $5 million with grant money from Office of Adolescent Health

This blog has been exposing the Office of Adolescent Health otherwise known as OAH for a while.

It was created by the Obama Administration and operated under the division of the Health and Human Services Department and funded to the tune of $105 million.

Now, Life Dynamics has discovered that the OAH has allocated over 5 million dollars in federal grant money to various Planned Parenthood affiliates under a teen prevention program run by HHS.

TPP Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program Planned Parenthood

The announcement came July 4, 2015 from the Office of Adolescent Health, which is responsible for implementing and administering the national, evidence based Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) Program.

The TPP program is described by OAH as, “one of a growing number of federal programs that focus on providing evidence of what works, investing in new and innovative approaches, and fostering a culture of learning.”

The Office of Adolescent Health (OAH) was established in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health in 2010.

According to OAH:

OAH coordinates adolescent health promotion and disease prevention programs and initiatives across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and works in partnership with other HHS agencies to, “support evidence-based approaches to improve the health of adolescents.”

OAH operates grant programs aimed at reducing teen pregnancy and supporting expectant and parenting teens and maintains an evaluation portfolio associated with these grants. OAH operates a website with extensive resources regarding adolescent health and leads collaborative activities with other federal agencies and national groups that serve adolescents

Since the program’s inception, OAH has worked in collaboration with HHS’ Administration on Children and Families, Family and Youth Services Bureau and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Reproductive Health to, “extend the reach of teen pregnancy prevention in targeted communities.”

According to OAH, a total of 81 organizations received the grant money to:

    Support replication of evidence-based TPP programs in multiple settings in communities with the greatest need;
    Increase capacity of organizations to implement evidence-based TPP programs focusing especially on serving especially vulnerable youth, including homeless youth, parenting youth and those in juvenile detention and foster care;

Support and foster early innovations to fill gaps in the knowledge of what works to prevent teen pregnancy; and

Develop and rigorously evaluate new, innovative approaches to combating teen pregnancy.

Grants for OAH’s 5 year program to run from 2015-2019 included abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

This is not the first time these OAH grant dollars have been given to Planned Parenthood, as Saynsumthn documents here.

In fact, I recently blogged about the program TeensRise, paid for by Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando and the Office of Adolescent Health.

Under that program, the abortion biz put together a recruitment video for African American teens in which they will be “Paid for Their Participation.” (read more here.)

Back to the new grant funding for 2015-2019:

A breakdown of the $5,679,657.00 grant dollars to the abortion business is detailed below:

Under what OAH labels their Tier1A, “Capacity Building to Support Replication of Evidence- Based TPP Programs” they gave $750,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest Seattle Washington for “vulnerable youth.”

In OHA’s Tier 1B, “Replicating Evidence-Based TPP Programs to Scale in Communities with the Greatest Need ” program, three Planned Parenthood affiliates received almost $3,000,000 in grant money:

$1,000,000, was allocated for “Family-based intervention for rural youth and their parents or caregivers” and another $1,000,000 for “Clinic-based intervention for LGBTQ teens and health care providers.”

In addition to the grants listed above, the abortion giant recorded receiving $528.4 million dollars in tax money, according to their 2013 to 2014 annual report.

Planned Parenthood uses the grant money and the federal tax dollars to line the pockets of their board members, presidents and directors of their abortion centers with six-digit salaries.

A document filed by Planned Parenthood to the IRS shows that their president, Cecile Richards, took home a salary of $451,752 plus $31,405 in compensation from related organizations and $107,771 in other compensation from Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood does not need more funding to conquer their goal of “making abortion normal” and this is just one more example of how the American people are being financially raped to fund abortion.
