CDC censors Planned Parenthood founder’s ties to Klan and Eugenics

Posted in CDC, Margaret Sanger with tags , , , , , , on December 28, 2014 by saynsumthn

Despite her ties to the Klan and to eugenics, the Center for Disease Control lists Margaret Sanger as some sort of heroine.

Sanger CDC

From the CDC, “Margaret Sanger.

“Sometimes social factors slow progress toward improving health more than lack of awareness or the absence of technology. No 20th century public health achievement demonstrates this more clearly than the struggle to provide women in the United States with safe and effective birth control. Margaret Sanger (September 14, 1879-September 6, 1966) risked scandal, danger, and imprisonment to challenge the legal and cultural obstacles that made controlling fertility difficult and illegal.

“Margaret Louise Higgins was born in Corning, New York, the sixth of 11 children. Her free-thinking father’s politics might have ignited her activism, but watching the process of her mother, aged 50 years, die after 18 pregnancies probably had an even deeper impact. Higgins was a nursing student in 1902 when she married architect William Sanger. Although weakened by bouts of tuberculosis, she bore three children between 1902 and 1910. The Sangers immersed themselves in the radical political and intellectual world of Greenwich Village in New York City. She worked as a visiting nurse in the city’s tenements and wrote about sex education and women’s health.

Sanger CDC PDF

“In 1914, Sanger’s articles in The Woman Radical brought her a federal indictment for violating federal postal obscenity laws, prompting her to flee to England. As soon as the ship left U.S. waters, she cabled a radical publisher in New Jersey to distribute 100,000 copies of her pamphlet, Family Limitation. Sanger remained exiled in Europe until late 1915; William Sanger had been arrested and jailed for distributing one copy of Family Limitation, and Margaret Sanger returned to face the charges against her. Personal tragedy intervened when the Sanger’s 5-year-old daughter died suddenly from pneumonia; public sentiments resulted in dismissal of the charges against Margaret Sanger.

“Rather than backing away from controversy, Sanger and her sister Ethel Byrne, also a nurse, opened the first birth control clinic in the United States, modeled after those Sanger had seen in Holland. On October 16, 1916, dozens of Jewish and Italian immigrant women from Brooklyn’s crowded Brownsville section lined up to receive counseling and birth control information. Nine days later police closed the clinic and arrested Sanger, Byrne, and the clinic’s interpreter. Byrne was tried and convicted first, and went on a hunger strike. Sanger was convicted and served 30 days in jail. Legal failure had brought victory, however. The publicity surrounding Sanger’s activities had made birth control a matter of public debate.

“After World War I, Sanger continued her U.S. leadership role, although during the 1920s and 1930s, she refocused her energy toward international birth control, traveling and lecturing throughout Asia and Europe. In 1952, she founded the International Planned Parenthood Federation and served as its first president until 1959. Sanger died in Tucson, Arizona, aged 87 years, a few months after the 1965 Supreme Court decision, Griswold vs. Connecticut, that made birth control legal for married couples, the culmination of events Sanger had started 50 years earlier.”

Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, was a member in good standing with the racist American Eugenics Society. Sanger had board members who were known for their racist writings and Sanger published many of those in her publications.

EugenicsBoardSanger

Planned Parenthood was also steeped in eugenics and to this day their top award is called the Margaret Sanger Award, despite the fact that Sanger was an admitted Klan speaker.

Margaret Sanger and Autobiography

This is what Sanger wrote in her autobiography, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366 Read it here https://ia802607.us.archive.org/1/items/margaretsangerau1938sang/margaretsangerau1938sang.pdf)

Sanger Autobiography Klan Speech

One would think that at the very least the CDC would have read Margaret Sanger’s autobiography and her history and would have an accurate description of Sanger’s beliefs and motives. But, apparently the CDC is not interested in an accurate history of the Planned Parenthood founder.

In addition to birth control and eugenics Sanger also had connections to the euthanasia movement. (read here)

Planned Parenthood to NAACP Margaret Sanger’s eugenics statements were wrong

RadianceFoundation

Since February 2013, the nation’s oldest civil rights group, the NAACP, has spent over half a million suing the black organization, The Radiance Foundation and Life News founder, Steven Ertelt, for what it charges as “trademark infringement, confusion and dilution.” This so-called infringement included The Radiance Foundation’s news articles that detailed the NAACP pro-abortion actions and the NAACP’s ties to Planned Parenthood.

Read those details here !

So…it was a little surprising to me to discover that among other clear ties, in 2012, Planned Parenthood gave the NAACP $25,000

PP Gives to NAACP 2012 LG

It was also interesting to learn that Planned Parenthood sent an open letter to the NAACP to attack pro-lifers who tied the abortion giant to eugenics. In that letter, Planned Parenthood admits that their founder, Margaret Sanger’s eugenics belief were wrong.

NAACP letter from PP

In a letter published in a 2011 NAACP Newsletter, Jessica Bearden Laurenz, the Director of Public Policy for Planned Parenthood Health Systems, attacks pro-lifers for exposing the racist agenda of abortion and writes, “In recent years, instead of working with reproductive health advocates to address these inequalities, individuals and organizations opposed to legal abortion have resorted to divisive messages based on race to further their agenda.”

billboardMostDangerous

Laurenz continues, “The most widely publicized effort is the “Black Children are an Endangered Species” billboards put up in Atlanta last year. Most recently, billboards appeared in New York with the message “The most dangerous place for an African-American child is in the womb.” These messages suggest that comparatively higher abortion rates in African-American communities are the result of insidious targeting by providers like Planned Parenthood. That’s completely inaccurate. Planned Parenthood health centers provide affordable health care to every woman who comes to us, regardless of her race or ethnic background. Planned Parenthood views these billboards as a reprehensible attack on the right of African-American women to make deeply personal medical decisions based on the advice of doctors in consultation with loved ones and in accordance with their faith. They obscure black women’s agency and trivialize the very real violence and discrimination that threatens African- American children in the United States.

Sanger KKK

She goes on to say that the eugenics statements of Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood’s founder, was wrong and then attempts to convince the Black organization that Planned Parenthood never had anything to do with eugenics, “I do want to be clear: Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, did make statements nearly a century ago on the issue of eugenics that were wrong then and are still wrong today. These ideas have never been part of Planned Parenthood’s mission or the care it offers to women of every community. The abhorrent history of eugenics, when women—many of whom were African-American—were forcibly sterilized and robbed of their ability to have children, is a stark reminder that real reproductive freedom is not just about abortion, but about the ability to decide when and if to become a parent, [abortion] and the right to parent your children when you choose to have them. In South Carolina, there is much work left to do to make reproductive freedom [abortion] a reality.”

She goes on to state, “When the South Carolina legislature addresses reproductive health issues, it is
usually only to launch divisive attacks on access to abortion care. We’re committed to partnering with the NAACP to change the conversation in South Carolina…We look forward to increasing collaboration between our two organizations and engaging in a dialogue on how to achieve better reproductive health outcomes for all South Carolinians.”

2011 Newsletter NAACP PP

Research conducted by Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation which was sued by the NAACP seems to contradict the claim that Margaret Sanger’s eugenics agenda was never a part of Planned Parenthood.

In addition a powerful documentary produced by the Texas group, Life Dynamics, entitled, Maafa21 Black Genocide in 21st Century America clearly ties Sanger’s views to Planned Parenthood. The 2.5 hour film has gained traction in the Black Community and it would seem that the NAACP was not going to allow a black man like Ryan to continue to point this out.

In addition, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was an active member of the American Eugenics Society:

In fact, Sanger’s American Birth Control League (ABCL) as well as her Birth Control Federation used to embrace the Eugenics label. Below is an article clearly showing that the media knew their agenda at this time:

But, what about Planned Parenthood?

Research this blog has conducted clearly proves that Planned Parenthood was deeply soaked in eugenics.

Even the Planned Parenthood “Every Child a Wanted Child” slogan may originate from Eugenics Society founder, Frederic Osborn, who once stated that, “Eugenic goals are most likely attained under a name other than eugenics.” Read more on that here.

In conclusion- even if you are to take Planned Parenthood’s words in any way seriously, why is it that their top award is named after Margaret Sanger? Why do they continue to prop up the very person they say was wrong and others say was extremely racist? And given that, why does the NAACP continue to allow it?

Black female leader claims idea of pruning the Black race began with Planned Parenthood founder

In 1993 the New York City branch of the NAACP selected Dr. Dolores Grier to be the recipient of the Women’s History Month award, she refused it and membership because of the organization’s pro-choice stance on abortion.

Dr. Grier recently made this statement saying that we must witness to True-Life :

Dr Delores Grier

We must bear witness to true life,” Dr. Grier told The Journey Home Program, “I say true-life because too many of those who say pro-choice. Pro-choice is the comfort zone for our legislators who’d rather say pro-choice- the right to choose. Choose what? Whether or not to kill the child in the womb, that’s what she’s choosing.”

DeloresGrier2

In 1992, Grier commented on Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, stating that the idea of pruning the Black race began with Sanger, “We were not equal to white people and she didn’t think we should populate the earth, and she wanted to eliminate anybody who had color and economic crisis.

Delores Grier Pruning Black Race Article

Dolores Bernadette Grier a founder of the Association of Black Catholics against Abortion and who also sat on the board of the African American Society Against Abortion and the New York State Right To Life Committee told a newspaper that she was inspired to join the pro-life movement by Jesse Jackson.

She said her firm stance on the abortion issue was influence by the Reverend whom she heard deliver an elegant and persuasive speech on the issue at a New York Hotel in 1977.

How We Respect Life Jesse Jackson

Grier said, “After the talk, I went up and said, ‘ Rev. Jackson, I’m going to join the pro-life movement. You said the pro-life movement needed youth and color, and I am the color.”

Sadly Jesse Jackson soon changed his position on abortion when he ran for president. Read Jackson’s pro-life statements before his flip here.

As president of the Association of Black Catholics,” Dr. Grier wrote, “I believe abortion to be a racist weapon of genocide against black people.”

Dr. Grier is right. Today abortion targets and slaughters more African Americans than all other causes of death combined.

Planned Parenthood uses Lady Liberty to promote agenda of limiting births of “the poor and huddled masses”

STatue of Liberty

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

These lines from Emma Lazarus’s sonnet, “The New Colossus” are inscribed on the Statue of Liberty and imprinted on the American consciousness.

But – eugenics founded abortion giant Planned Parenthood has decided to use the image of Lady Liberty to call for population control

Blogger Jill Stanek found this tweet from Planned Parenthood which shows the Statue of Liberty holding birth control pills:

PP Lady Liberty BC pills

Of course, this ties in perfectly with Planned Parenthood’s agenda because we all know that they “want the poor!” so they can guarantee they do not procreate !

In 1964, Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger said she believed that it would take the US Government to accept “Population Control” to convince other nations to do the same.

I just don’t have the feeling that we can control it,” the Planned Parenthood founder lamented about the population explosion.

“I don’t see how we can control the birth rate until we get the government to agree that this is something which should be taken seriously. Other countries feel that if our government is against it, it must be bad. Americans would be much more acceptable when they go abroad to work on the problem if we get our government to approve it- perhaps under some such term as population control,” Sanger stated.

Sanger 1965 Population Control

guttmachr

In a 1969 article in Medical World News Reports, former Planned Parenthood president Alan Guttmacher suggested the possibility that coercion will be used to control population, “Each country will have to decide its own form of coercion,” writes Guttmacher, “and determine when and how it should be employed. At present the available means are compulsory sterilization and compulsory abortion. Perhaps some day a way of enforcing compulsory birth control will be feasible”.

As late as 1970 Guttmacher called the idea of a limitation of families to only 2 children in America “desirable.”

This former Eugenics VP also suggested that the United Nations be brought in to control population, “ If you’re going to curb population, it’s extremely important not to have it done by the dammed Yankees, but by the UN. Because the thing is, then it’s not considered genocide. If the United States goes to the black man or the yellow man and says slow down your reproduction rate, we’re immediately suspected of having ulterior motives to keep the white man dominant in the world. If you can send in a colorful UN force, you’ve got much better leverage,” Guttmacher told Boston Magazine in 1970.

Sanger-membAES

Guttmacher was following in the steps of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger who in 1932, called for the U.S. government to set aside farms and what she called “open spaces” where certain groups of people would be segregated from the rest of society. She proposed that, among others, the illiterate, the unemployed and the poor should be forcibly kept in these areas until they developed “better moral conduct.” ~ The documentary film Maafa21.

Sanger called for parents to have a QUOTE: LICENSE TO BREED controlled by people who believed in her eugenic philosophy. She wanted all would be parents to go before her eugenic boards to request a “PERMIT TO BREED“. So much for Choice , huh?

Sanger also called for those who were poor and what she considered to be “morons and immoral‘ , to be shipped to colonies where they would live in “Farms and Open Spaces” dedicated to brainwashing these so-called “inferior types” into having what Sanger called, “Better moral conduct”.

Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger once wrote that no one should have the right to bear a child and no permit for children shall give a couple the right the have more than one birth, requiring parents to obtain a “license to breed.”

In her “A License for Mothers to Have Babies” with the subtitle, “A code to stop the overproduction of children.” Sanger writes:

A marriage license shall in itself give husband and wife only the right to a common household and not the right to parenthood.

Article 4. No woman shall have the legal right to bear a child, and no man shall have the right to become a father, without a permit for parenthood.

Article 5. Permits for parenthood shall be issued upon application by city, county, or State authorities to married couples , providing the parents are financially able to support the expected child, have the qualifications needed for proper rearing of the child, have no transmissible diseases, and on the woman’s part, no medical indication that maternity is likely to result in death or permanent injury to health.

Article 6. No permit for parenthood shall be valid for more than one birth.

This idea that the government has to pay for the birth control of the poor is really part of a eugenics agenda that began many years ago and Planned Parenthood who has been knee deep in Eugenics since it’s founding knows it.

Planned Parenthood’s Earth Day Message: No Babies

Planned Parenthood has been tweeting their “free condoms” for “Earth Day” promos.

PP Earth Day Condoms

What exactly are they trying to say- STOP HAVING BABIES:? Because that would fall in line with Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger’s agenda perfectly !

NoMoreChildren3c18854uw

No More Babies‘ was the title of a 1947 reel by British Pathe, where John Parsons interviewed the Planned Parenthood founder.

In the vid, Margaret Sanger advocates “No More Children in Starving Countries for the Next Ten Years”

(View it here)

Sanger Pathe

Below is an edited version of what was placed on YouTube and leaves out “in starving countries”?

John Parsons: But Mrs. Slee in this country having babies is the only thing left which is both unrationed and untaxed, do you think we really ought to stop?

Margaret Sanger: Well I suppose a subject like that is really so personal that it is entirely up to the parents to decide, but from my view I believe there should be no more babies And this part was left off?: in starving countries for the next ten years….

In 1964, Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger said she believed that it would take the US Government to accept “Population Control” to convince other nations to do the same.

I just don’t so how we can control the birth rate until we get the government to agree that this is something which should be taken seriously. Other countries feel that if our government is against it, it must be bad. Americans would be much more acceptable when they go abroad to work on the problem if we get our government to approve it- perhaps under some such term as population control,” Sanger stated.

Sanger 1965 Population Control

That ideology was backed up by Planned Parenthood president, Alan Guttmacher who happened to be a former VP of the American Eugenics Society. Guttmacher wanted the US to use “Voluntary Means” of Population control and then use coercion if needed. But he had a better solution- legalize ABORTION.

guttmachr

In 1969, Alan Guttmacher as then President of Planned Parenthood-World Population, said this: “ I would like to give our voluntary means of population control full opportunity in the next 10 to 12 years. Then , if these don’t succeed, we may have to go into some kind of coercion, not worldwide, but possibly in such places as India, Pakistan, and Indonesia, where pressures are the greatest…There is no question that birth rates can be reduced all over the world if legal abortion is introduced…”

Today Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider will give minority house leader their top award:the Margaret Sanger Award outraging many Americans.

Pelosi Ab Sacred Ground

Perhaps this award is payback for Pelosi nominating Planned PARENTHOOD’S prez, Cecile Richards, for Time’s Person of the Year – or it could be that Pelosi so eloquently implements the philosophy and agenda of Sanger and Planned Parenthood.

Pelosi loves abortion and once called it “sacred ground”

WHO IS MARGARET SANGER?

Sanger-membAES

Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, was a member in good standing with the racist American Eugenics Society. Sanger had board members who were known for their racist writing and Sanger published many of those in her publications. In addition to her Birth Control advocacy, Margaret Sanger also pushed for euthanasia. (read here )

Sanger founded the American Birth Control League which later changed their name to Planned Parenthood in 1942. A documentary produced in 2009, Maafa21, detailed the racist and eugenics agenda of Margaret Sanger and even tied Planned Parenthood to racist eugenics boards. The film clearly showed that Sanger was NOT an honorable person but rather a biased racist who wanted to rid the world of those she deemed “defective”, “feebleminded” or “unfit.” Watch Maafa21 here for that history – http://www.maafa21.com.

Sanger also pushed for the “sterilization of defectives”

ABCL Proposes Sterilization

But wait….here is Nancy Pelosi claiming that “Family planing” is a stimulus because it “reduces costs” – Cost? Perhaps because she believes that it reduces those society deems “unfit?” One could assume, anyway.

EugenicsBoardSanger

Sanger wanted to merge the ABCL with the eugenics society:

NYT1925Merge ABCL Eugenics

Sanger called for parents to have a QUOTE: LICENSE TO BREED controlled by people who believed in her eugenic philosophy. She wanted all would be parents to go before her eugenic boards to request a “PERMIT TO BREED“.

Margaret Sanger once said, “More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

In Margaret Sanger’s, “Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Feb 1919. Birth Control Review , Library of Congress Microfilm 131:0099B .
Sanger states, “Before eugenists and others who are laboring for racial betterment can succeed, they must first clear the way for Birth Control. Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit. Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods.

Eugenists emphasize the mating of healthy couples for the conscious purpose of producing healthy children, the sterilization of the unfit to prevent their populating the world with their kind and they may, perhaps, agree with us that contraception is a necessary measure among the masses of the workers, where wages do not keep pace with the growth of the family and its necessities in the way of food, clothing, housing, medical attention, education and the like.

We who advocate Birth Control, on the other hand, lay all our emphasis upon stopping not only the reproduction of the unfit but upon stopping all reproduction when there is not economic means of providing proper care for those who are born in health. While I personally believe in the sterilization of the feeble-minded, the insane and syphilitic, I have not been able to discover that these measures are more than superficial deterrents when applied to the constantly growing stream of the unfitEugenics without Birth Control seems to us a house builded upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit…

In 1964, Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger said she believed that it would take the US Government to accept “Population Control” to convince other nations to do the same.

I just don’t see how we can control the birth rate until we get the government to agree that this is something which should be taken seriously. Sanger also called for those who were poor and what she considered to be “morons and immoral‘ , to be shipped to colonies where they would live in “Farms and Open Spaces” dedicated to brainwashing these so-called “inferior types” into having what Sanger called, “Better moral conduct”.

I consider that the world and almost our civilization for the next twenty-five years, is going to depend upon a simple, cheap, safe contraceptive to be used in poverty stricken slums, jungles, and among the most ignorant people. Even this will not be sufficient, because I believe that now, immediately, there should be national sterilization for certain dysgenic types of our population who are being encouraged to breed and would die out were the government not feeding them.
Planned Parenthood Founder, Margaret Sanger, 1950

In 1957 Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger told Mike Wallace:

SANGER: I think the greatest sin in the world is bringing children into the world–that have disease from their parents, that have no chance in the world to be a human being practically. Delinquents, prisoners, all sorts of things just marked when they’re born. That to me is the greatest sin — that people can — can commit..

For the record – that convicted murderer and abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell once made the exact same point as Sanger – here.
