Is Planned Parenthood scrubbing its eugenicist founder’s name from its awards?

Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger
Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was a notorious eugenicist whose namesake has been used on Planned Parenthood’s top awards to journalists and others who help the organization push its pro-abortion ideals in society. In addition to meeting with members of the Ku Klux Klan, about which Sanger wrote in her autobiography, the Planned Parenthood founder also advocated forced sterilization to rid the planet of those she deemed “unfit.”

Despite knowing Sanger’s associations with the Klan and eugenics, Planned Parenthood not only named their top awards in Sanger’s honor – they “honored” complicit media, journalists and politicians with no outrage from civil rights organizations or the rest of the media. The presentations fell under two award categories: the “Maggie Award” and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America “Margaret Sanger Award.”

It seems, however, that these awards may have been retired — at least temporarily. The reason is unknown.

2014 Planned Parenthood Maggie Award

Recently awarded were notable media outlets and journalists from MSNBC, Yahoo-Health, Buzzfeed, The New Yorker, CBS, Washington Post, Austin Chronicle, Huffington Post, The Plain Dealer, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, US News & World Report, Waco Tribune-Herald, Chicago Tribune, CNN, NBC, New York Daily News, PBS Frontline, The Kansas City Star, People magazine, San Diego Union-Tribune, ABC News, Los Angeles Times, The Dallas Morning News, The Metro Times, Cedar Rapids Gazette, The Houston Chronicle, Concord Monitor, The Philadelphia Daily News, The San Diego Union, San Francisco Examiner, Newsweek Magazine, Lifetime Television, ABC Radio, Arkansas Gazette, Los Angeles Times, NBC Radio, The Boston Globe, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Bergen Record, Charlotte News and Observer, and Gannett News Service.

Maggie Award:

According to a Planned Parenthood 2015 press release, the “Maggie Award” was “inaugurated in 1978 and named after Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger.” A cached PP website reveals that the award recognized “exceptional contributions by journalists in print, online, and broadcast media that enhance the public’s understanding of reproductive rights and health care issues, including contraception, sex education, teen pregnancy, abortion, and international family planning.”

Today, if you search for the “Maggie Award” which was last issued in 2015, you won’t find it on Planned Parenthood’s website.

Planned Parenthood search Maggie Award (PPFA website 05132019)

The reason?

Planned Parenthood quietly seems to have erased Sanger’s name from that portion of the website. Planned Parenthood simply exchanged the word “Maggie” with “Media,” as demonstrated below.  They did this without fanfare or explanation, offering no denunciation, despite knowing Sanger’s associations with the Klan and eugenics. In fact, Sanger’s name was listed as recently as 2016 — which means that the awards these journalists received were issued in the name of Margaret Sanger, not “Media” — and to date, it seems no one has returned the award or publicly rejected the “honor” named after the eugenicist founder.

This cached version at Way Back Machine is proof to how the website originally read. You can see that the current “Media Excellence” page mirrors the old version referencing the “Maggie Award,” and Sanger is no longer located on the PPFA website.

PPFA Maggie Award now called Media Award

Margaret Sanger Award

For years, pro-life groups have criticized the fact that Planned Parenthood’s highest award was named after Sanger. The corporation’s “Margaret Sanger Award” is still showing on Planned Parenthood’s website, and reveals it was issued to abortionist Willie Parker, a beloved abortionist recently accused of sexual misconduct in 2015.

Democratic Party leader Nancy Pelosi received the infamous Sanger award the previous year.

What is interesting is that the Maggie Award page (now scrubbed) and the Margaret Sanger Award page both reveal that neither award has been given since 2015. One can only speculate why that is. Perhaps Planned Parenthood is no longer offering the “honors” named after their founder — or is it possible that, because of the exposure by pro-life organizations, few are willing to receive it? The latter seems unlikely, but whatever the reason, Planned Parenthood continues to view Sanger as a heroine, even naming Planned Parenthood facilities after her, as well as several Margaret Sanger Legacy Societies which fundraise for Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

The NY Margaret Sanger Society claims the money they raise will “ensure our future for generations to come.”

The Margaret Sanger Society in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, will “create opportunities to recognize Sanger Society members throughout the year, including an annual event each spring. These events provide members with the opportunity to meet our staff, receive updates on our programs, and visit with other like-minded supporters.”

PPFA Margaret Sanger Legacy Society ND accessed 05132019

Planned Parenthood’s legacy is eugenics; their own ties to the disturbing philosophy run very deep, as Live Action News has previously documented.  And the media and PP’s political supporters, which have been regularly “honored” in the name of Sanger, continue to funnel half a billion in taxpayer dollars into the abortion corporation’s coffers year after year.

Planned Parenthood’s founder will never be the kind of person society should “celebrate” — instead she and her eugenics ideology should be denounced.

Planned Parentrhood’s “Blueprint” to force taxpayers to pay for birth control began under Guttmacher

Planned Parenthood has always been about making sure fewer poor people actually become parents — and here’s proof

In 1966, Planned Parenthood‘s medical director, Alan Guttmacher (a former VP for the American Eugenics Society and founder of the Guttmacher Institute), proposed a blueprint to force taxpayers to pay for birth control access for the poor. Elected to Planned Parenthood’s national board in 1962, Guttmacher believed (as did many eugenicists) that the poor needed access to birth control.

But while publicly, the messaging was one of empowering others to make “choices,” the real motivation was population control. Guttmacher once told the New York Times, “The main goal of our program is not just to limit population, but to give everyone the same opportunity for quality medical care.” Note that Guttmacher acknowledged population control as one of the goals, but clothed it in the same type of messaging used by modern-day Planned Parenthood: the language of access to “health care” or “medical care.”

Planned Parenthood’s ultimate goal was to convince the public that taxpayer-funded “family planning” — directed at preventing births among the poor — would save the taxpayer money. And, just like today, the nation’s largest abortion provider accomplished this goal with the help of politicians on both sides of the aisle.

In 1965, President Lyndon Johnson lent his support to taxpayer funded “family planning” efforts, stating in a speech that for every five dollars spent on population control, more than a hundred would be invested in economic growth. The scheme to promote the use of taxpayer dollars as a way to “reduce costs” was detailed in the film Maafa21:

The “plan” — described by a 1966 NYT article as a “partnership of public and private agencies” — was to make birth control services “freely available to every American by 1970” in an effort to prevent about 250,000 pregnancies every year. It was presented at Planned Parenthood’s New York headquarters by the organization’s then-president, George N. Lindsay, who called it the “best bargain in health services that money could buy.”

Planned Parenthood president George N Lindsay (image credit: NYT)

“We have the technological know-how — pills and intrauterine devices,” Lindsay is quoted as saying. “We have the support of Government. President Johnson has called for increased birth control services in the past two State of the Union messages. And now we have devised a methodology for solving a huge problem in five years.”

That same year, President Johnson accepted Planned Parenthood’s highest award (the Margaret Sanger Award) for his policies pushing family planning for foreign countries. The founder of Planned Parenthood, Sanger’s work in the eugenics movement has been highly criticized by many modern African-American leaders. Sanger, who gave at least one speech to the Ku Klux Klan and stacked Planned Parenthood’s boards with eugenicists, advocated the sterilization of the so-called “unfit.”

Today, despite her involvement in the eugenics movement, Planned Parenthood labels Sanger a heroine and has positioned her name in a place of honor on at least one of its centers.

Margaret Sanger’s name on Planned Parenthood building

By 1969, the so-called “Planned Parenthood blueprint” to force taxpayers to fund birth control was underway, as recounted by the New York Times:

Whatever the merits of the argument, the ghetto approach is now the federation’s chief thrust, and it is also the policy of the Federal Government, which since 1966 has undergone a dramatic reversal,  moving from almost no action on birth control to a proposed expenditure in 1969 of $31 million. Last month the Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) recommended the adoption of Planned Parenthood’s “blueprint” for supplying free birth control device to some five million American women below the poverty line.

Image: Guttmacher plan to force taxpayers to fund birth control (Image: NYT 02/02/1969)

Guttmacher plan to force taxpayers to fund birth control (Image: NYT 02/02/1969)

The “plan” was highly criticized by the Black community, which saw the move as a means of racist Black genocide.  “Among other things, this policy has brought the Planned Parenthood Federation under attack from black militants who see ‘family planning’ as a euphemism for race genocide,” the NYT reported.

To prove the genocidal fear had merit among minority groups, the paper published statistics that supported “the suspicion that Black people are taking the brunt of the ‘planning.’” Black birth rates fell in several cities:

  • Lincoln Parish, LA: 32% (1966-67)
  • Washington, DC : 24% (three years)
  • Baltimore, MD: 36% (since 1965)

A 1966 internal memo from Alan Guttmacher and Fred Jaffe outlined a new “community relations program” for winning over the Black community by “form[ing] a liaison between Planned Parenthood and minority organizations.” The plan, according to Planned Parenthood, was to emphasize that “all people have the opportunity to make their own choices,” rather than, as the memo states, exhortation telling them how many children they should have.”

Guttmacher said at the time that the plan was “long overdue” but stressed, “we do not need to panic. In fact, if we panic and continue to publicize the ‘problem’, we may well exacerbate it.”

Also in 1966, Planned Parenthood gave its Margaret Sanger Award to Martin Luther King, Jr. Whatever Planned Parenthood was trying to accomplish, it worked. By 1969, then Congressman George H.W. Bush (R-Texas) chaired the Republican Task Force on Population and Earth Resources, created in part to ascertain the resistance to family planning among “certain groups.” He determined that “[s]o far, it looks like opposition from religious groups and the Black militants isn’t too serious.”

Planned Parenthood’s “blueprint” called for an expenditure of about one percent of the nation’s health budget, with an anticipated $78 million from taxpayers in 1970. It also called for an expansion of hospitals’ family planning services as well as programs financed by the federal anti-poverty program. By 1970, the United States House of Representatives voted 298 to 32 to approve the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act, Title X of the Public Health Service Act, authorizing federal dollars to pay for family planning services for low-income women. This legislation would become known as the Title X statute, which today allocates millions of federal tax dollars to Planned Parenthood and other family planning organizations.

In 1971, Congress allocated $6,000,000 for the Title X program. The following year, funding was increased to ten times as much: $61,815,000. Title X funding peaked in 2010 with a high of $317,491,000 and dropped to $286,479,000 for fiscal year 2017. President Trump’s FY2018 budget request includes $286.5 million for Title X, the same as the FY2017 enacted level.

TitleX Funding History CBO

Although Federal law prohibits the use of Title X funds in programs where abortion is a method of family planning, recipients of the dollars can be abortion providers. The reason for this is that Title X requirements allow recipients of these federal dollars to discuss abortion with patients under the term “options counseling,” telling providers that they must offer pregnant women the opportunity to receive information and counseling on each of the following options:

  • prenatal care and delivery
  • infant care, foster care, or adoption
  • pregnancy termination

In other words, Planned Parenthood can use the same rooms within the same facilities to commit abortions as they do to perform “options counseling,” during which they can refer for abortions as well as provide tax-funded family planning services under Title X.

Live Action investigations have already documented the abysmal way that Planned Parenthood handles inquiries from pregnant women seeking prenatal care at their facilities. With few exceptions, abortion is the only option Planned Parenthood offers pregnant women:

Research conducted by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) reveals that Planned Parenthood affiliates participating in Title X spent $64.35 million in taxpayer dollars in 2012.

Despite deceptive marketing from politicians who claim that defunding the abortion corporation would hurt women, studies show that women do not need Planned Parenthood to get contraception care. Despite Planned Parenthood’s desperate attempt to reinvent itself as a health care provider, it is the number one provider of abortions in the United States, claiming 35 percent of the abortion market share nationwide. The organization has millions of dollars in excess revenue each year (despite its being classified as a nonprofit organization), and has recently boasted of the private donations flooding into its coffers.

In addition, actual health care services at Planned Parenthood are dwindling while abortions are increasing. In addition, Planned Parenthood is not a trusted recipient of tax dollars, with its history of fraud and abuse and its failure to report suspected child abuse (which Live Action News reported about here and here) — a reason that alone should result in the organization losing taxpayer dollars under Title X.

Planned Parenthood’s free birth control scheme has resulted in millions upon millions in taxpayer funding each year. Instead of those dollars doing good for women, they are aiding an abortion corporation which ends the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent preborn babies every year. That is not a blueprint that anyone should follow.

Live Action News has written additional articles on this topic that include the history of Title X (Parts onetwothree, and four) as well as George HW Bush’s relationship to TitleX and Planned Parenthood.

Margaret Sanger rejected for $20 bill and praised by Hillary Clinton

While the racist founder of Planned Parenthood has been resoundingly rejected by voters to be placed on US currency, 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton once praised Margaret Sanger.

Margaret Sanger NO $20

Following outrage from Black leaders and pro-lifers nationwide, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was resoundingly defeated as a candidate for the $20.00 bill.

The group, Woman on 20’s initiated the campaign to replace Andrew Jackson with a woman on the currency.

Candidates were selected from a field of 30 through a “vigorous survey process involving more than a dozen women’s historians and academicians.”

Sanger

Originally among them was Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood whose beliefs in racism and eugenics were documented in the powerful Life Dynamics film, Maafa21.

Star Parker Sanger on 20 horrible abortion planned parenthood

This is what Sanger wrote in her autobiography, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan”

Margaret Sanger and Autobiography

Sanger continued, “I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366 Read it here https://ia802607.us.archive.org/1/items/margaretsangerau1938sang/margaretsangerau1938sang.pdf)

Margaret Sanger Autobiography spoke to Klan Planned Parenthood racism

Despite the award being named after a Klan speaker, in 2009, Hillary Clinton received Planned Parenthood’s top award, the Margaret Sanger Award.

Sanger was a also member of the American Eugenics Society which advocated the sterilization of those she deemed unfit and unworthy to procreate.

In 2009, at a Planned Parenthood Honors Gala in Houston, Texas – then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accepted Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award.

These were Hillary Clinton’s words of praise to Margaret Sanger:

I admire Margaret Sanger enormously, her courage, her tenacity, her vision,” said Hillary Rodham Clinton, “I am really in awe of her, there are a lot of lessons we can learn from her life.”

Margaret Sanger was a racist.

Margaret_Sanger1

She advocated eugenics. She supported the use of sterilization to rid the planet of the “unfit”.

Sanger admitted in her own autobiography that she was invited by the Klan to give them a speech.

Sanger KKK

Did I say one invite? Nope, according to Margaret Sanger she received a dozen invites by the KKK.

So….why would anyone and I do mean anyone accept an award named after a racist Klan speaker?

Hillary clintonMargaret Sanger

Good question….one that Hillary Rodham Clinton might want to answer.

In 2009, Hillary Clinton received Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award.

The announcement posted to the US Secretary of State website read, “Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) will present its highest honor, the PPFA Margaret Sanger Award, to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at the PPFA awards gala in Houston, Texas on Friday, March 27. Secretary Clinton will receive this award for her unwavering support of women’s health and rights throughout her public service career. Actor America Ferrera will co-host the event with PPFA President Cecile Richards. The awards gala will take place at the George R. Dr. Willie Parker is no stranger to controversy. He is a circuit riding abortionist who, most notably works at the last remaining abortion clinic in Mississippi.

Willie J. Parker

Parker has made many outrageous statements claiming that he performs abortions because he is a “Christian” despite the long-held view that murdering a baby in the womb is the antithesis of Christ-like.

Parker recently claimed that NOT PROVIDING ABORTIONS was RACIST.

Yes, you heard me correctly.

PP 2-2-15-Dreamkeepers-Headers_doers

As a result of Parker’s unwavering stand for abortion, and his dedication to killing majority Black babies, Planned Parenthood recently “honored” the abortionist during Black History Month 2015 even placing abortionist Willie Parker on their list of Dream Keeper “Doers.”

But, the organization based on eugenics and racism did not stop there.

Planned Parenthood Gala March 19 2015

At their 2015 Gala, Planned Parenthood, which took place March 19th, Planned Parenthood gave the black abortionist their most prestigious award, The Margaret Sanger award.

Dr WIllie Parker Black abortionist Margaret Sanger Award Planned Parenthood 2015 6

Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood who admitted giving Klan speeches in her autobiography.

The Klan would be right in line with Sanger’s views on limiting the births of the so-called feeble minded and unfit. The eugenics groups she belonged to and placed on her board as well as published in her Birth Control Review, also held those same racist views.

Sanger Negro Project KKK

This blog has documented those views many times, so I will not go over them one by one here. If you want more information, I recommend the film, Maafa21 for documentation on Sanger’s beliefs.

Thanks to an upload on YouTube by Planned Parenthood Gala attendee B. Rae Perryman, you can see just how excited Dr. Willie Parker was in accepting the Margaret Sanger award from Planned Parenthood:

Parker has a history with the abortion giant having once worked for them as medical director for Planned Parenthood Metropolitan Washington.

He is fast becoming the Black face Planned Parenthood uses to lessen the effects of those who have documented the genocidal affects of abortion as well as the racist history.

Just as their founder Margaret Sanger vowed to use “Black Ministers” in her “Negro Project,” Planned Parenthood is doing the same with Parker.

Dr WIllie Parker Black abortionist Margaret Sanger Award Planned Parenthood 2015 5

During his speech, Parker thanked Planned Parenthood for the Margaret Sanger award and told the crowd that his mother shaped his need for recognition when “you act on behalf of others.”

It is in the spirit of my mother’s teaching- that- while I am humbled to receive this award- I see you as simply honoring me for what I am supposed to do,” Parker told the Planned Parenthood crowd.

Supposed to do? Kill babies is something you are obligated to do?

The abortionist, who dismembers babies including African American babies in the womb, quoted holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel who said, “Our lives are not our own – they belong to those who desperately need us.”

Newflash abortionist Parker:

The unborn baby desperately needs his/her mother and your knife guarantees they will not have the life granted them by their Creator.

Dr. Willie Parker should be ashamed of himself – but he isn’t.

Sadly, like others who betrayed their race or participated in the slaughter humans, Parker is proud.

Pro-abortion Margaret Sanger award recipient condemns torture says Black Lives Matter

Posted in Hillary clinton, Margaret Sanger Award with tags , , , , , , on December 17, 2014 by saynsumthn

The Associate Press has reported that 2016 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has spoken out against torture and said that Black Lives Matter despite her support of abortion and Planned Parenthood, which targets the Black community.

Hillary Clinton Torture abortion sanger

The AP states:

Clinton spoke about the importance of the nation acting in accordance with its values after receiving an award from The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and; Human Rights at a gala in New York.

Today we can say again in a loud and clear voice that the United States should never condone or practice torture anywhere in the world,” Clinton told the audience. “That should be absolutely clear as a matter of both policy and law, including our international treaty obligations.

Clinton also addressed the recent protests that have raged across the country, and drew links between violence at home and abroad.

She declared, “yes, black lives matter,” a mantra of demonstrators around the country who have been protesting recent grand jury decisions not to indict white police officers involved in the deaths of unarmed black men in Ferguson, Missouri, and in New York.

One thing interesting about today’s media is how they fail to ask the tough questions. Hillary Clinton is the recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award. Sanger was an avid proponent of eugenics who gave Klan speeches in her push to sterilize the unfit.

Planned Parenthood targets the Black community for eugenics an evil agenda, crafted by Margaret Sanger, and documented over and over again in the past years.

Stats from the CDC recently released reveals that almost 56% of all abortions reported for race were done on minority women.

Hillary clintonMargaret Sanger In April of 2009: Congressman Jeff Fortenberry asked then Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on foreign policy about Margaret Sanger.

At 4 minutes 25 seconds into this video, Clinton compared the eugenics advocate to Thomas Jefferson, and states I Deplore statements that you have referenced [ about Margaret Sanger]

And here is Hillary Clinton accepting Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award at the 2009 Planned Parenthood Honors Gala in Houston, Texas, admitting she admired Sanger’s “vision,” I admire Margaret Sanger enormously, her courage, her tenacity, her vision,” said Hillary Rodham Clinton, “I am really in awe of her, there are a lot of lessons we can learn from her life

Since that award, Planned Parenthood issued a Press Release expressing their”Admiration” for Hillary Clinton for expanding abortion worldwide

From the release:

PLANNED PARENTHOOD APPLAUDS SECRETARY CLINTON FOR RENEWING U.S. COMMITMENT TO INTERNATIONAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) applauds Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for her remarks today renewing the U.S. commitment to health and development goals for women and girls around the world, including increasing access to quality reproductive health care. These goals, dating back to 1994, include universal access to education, especially for girls; reductions in infant, child and maternal mortality; and universal access to reproductive health.

“Secretary Clinton is a global leader committed to advancing the reproductive health and rights of women and girls worldwide,” said PPFA President Cecile Richards. “She understands the direct link between supporting women and girls and strengthening families, communities and societies. Her leadership promises to move the global community closer to ensuring that all women and girls in every country have the reproductive health care they need to live healthy, productive lives. We look forward to working with Secretary Clinton and our partners around the world to improve women’s lives.”

NOTE: “Reproductive Health Care” is pro-choice code for ABORTION and POPULATION CONTROL ! Get Maafa21 and learn more !

Planned Parenthood performs one out of three abortions nationwide.

In addition- Hillary Rodham Clinton even congratulated the abortion lobby organization NARAL (here)

Abortion is all about torture. It brutally kills an unborn child in the womb as I document here. It also disproportionately affects the Black race.

Hillary Clinton is a political hypocrite regarding her belief that Black Lives Matter and that the United States should end torture and her support of abortion along with her acceptance of the Margaret Sanger Award proves it!

Planned Parenthood to NAACP Margaret Sanger’s eugenics statements were wrong

Posted in Black Conservative, Black Genocide, Black leaders on abortion, Blacks sued by Planned Parenthood, Eugenics Quarterly, Margaret Sanger, Margaret Sanger and AES, Margaret Sanger Award, Planned Parenthood and Eugenics with tags , , , , , , , , , on September 18, 2014 by saynsumthn

RadianceFoundation

Since February 2013, the nation’s oldest civil rights group, the NAACP, has spent over half a million suing the black organization, The Radiance Foundation and Life News founder, Steven Ertelt, for what it charges as “trademark infringement, confusion and dilution.” This so-called infringement included The Radiance Foundation’s news articles that detailed the NAACP pro-abortion actions and the NAACP’s ties to Planned Parenthood.

Read those details here !

So…it was a little surprising to me to discover that among other clear ties, in 2012, Planned Parenthood gave the NAACP $25,000

PP Gives to NAACP 2012 LG

It was also interesting to learn that Planned Parenthood sent an open letter to the NAACP to attack pro-lifers who tied the abortion giant to eugenics. In that letter, Planned Parenthood admits that their founder, Margaret Sanger’s eugenics belief were wrong.

NAACP letter from PP

In a letter published in a 2011 NAACP Newsletter, Jessica Bearden Laurenz, the Director of Public Policy for Planned Parenthood Health Systems, attacks pro-lifers for exposing the racist agenda of abortion and writes, “In recent years, instead of working with reproductive health advocates to address these inequalities, individuals and organizations opposed to legal abortion have resorted to divisive messages based on race to further their agenda.”

billboardMostDangerous

Laurenz continues, “The most widely publicized effort is the “Black Children are an Endangered Species” billboards put up in Atlanta last year. Most recently, billboards appeared in New York with the message “The most dangerous place for an African-American child is in the womb.” These messages suggest that comparatively higher abortion rates in African-American communities are the result of insidious targeting by providers like Planned Parenthood. That’s completely inaccurate. Planned Parenthood health centers provide affordable health care to every woman who comes to us, regardless of her race or ethnic background. Planned Parenthood views these billboards as a reprehensible attack on the right of African-American women to make deeply personal medical decisions based on the advice of doctors in consultation with loved ones and in accordance with their faith. They obscure black women’s agency and trivialize the very real violence and discrimination that threatens African- American children in the United States.

Sanger KKK

She goes on to say that the eugenics statements of Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood’s founder, was wrong and then attempts to convince the Black organization that Planned Parenthood never had anything to do with eugenics, “I do want to be clear: Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, did make statements nearly a century ago on the issue of eugenics that were wrong then and are still wrong today. These ideas have never been part of Planned Parenthood’s mission or the care it offers to women of every community. The abhorrent history of eugenics, when women—many of whom were African-American—were forcibly sterilized and robbed of their ability to have children, is a stark reminder that real reproductive freedom is not just about abortion, but about the ability to decide when and if to become a parent, [abortion] and the right to parent your children when you choose to have them. In South Carolina, there is much work left to do to make reproductive freedom [abortion] a reality.”

She goes on to state, “When the South Carolina legislature addresses reproductive health issues, it is
usually only to launch divisive attacks on access to abortion care. We’re committed to partnering with the NAACP to change the conversation in South Carolina…We look forward to increasing collaboration between our two organizations and engaging in a dialogue on how to achieve better reproductive health outcomes for all South Carolinians.”

2011 Newsletter NAACP PP

Research conducted by Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation which was sued by the NAACP seems to contradict the claim that Margaret Sanger’s eugenics agenda was never a part of Planned Parenthood.

In addition a powerful documentary produced by the Texas group, Life Dynamics, entitled, Maafa21 Black Genocide in 21st Century America clearly ties Sanger’s views to Planned Parenthood. The 2.5 hour film has gained traction in the Black Community and it would seem that the NAACP was not going to allow a black man like Ryan to continue to point this out.

SANGERKKK2

Sanger was an admitted Klan speaker. This is what Sanger wrote in her autobiography, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366 Read it here http://library.lifedynamics.com//Autobiography/Chapter%2029.pdf)

In addition, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was an active member of the American Eugenics Society:

In fact, Sanger’s American Birth Control League (ABCL) as well as her Birth Control Federation used to embrace the Eugenics label. Below is an article clearly showing that the media knew their agenda at this time:

ABCL Group is a Eugenics Group

But, what about Planned Parenthood?

Research this blog has conducted clearly proves that Planned Parenthood was deeply soaked in eugenics.

Even the Planned Parenthood “Every Child a Wanted Child” slogan may originate from Eugenics Society founder, Frederic Osborn, who once stated that, “Eugenic goals are most likely attained under a name other than eugenics.” Read more on that here.

It was also clear that as the ABCL morphed into Planned Parenthood they also embraced Eugenics.

Here is a Director of the American Eugenics Society, Robert Carter Cook, being invited by Planned Parenthood to speak at their lunch:

In conclusion- even if you are to take Planned Parenthood’s words in any way seriously, why is it that their top award is named after Margaret Sanger? Why do they continue to prop up the very person they say was wrong and others say was extremely racist? And given that, why does the NAACP continue to allow it?
