Eugenics wins – Kenyan unborn loose, posted with vodpod

LifeNews reports:
Voters in Kenya appear to have cast their ballots on Wednesday in favor of a new constitution that may quell some of the political violence the nation has experienced but would allow the violence of abortion. The vote was the subject of controversy as the Obama administration appeared to finance the Yes campaign.

With more than 60 percent of the ballots counted at 13,156 of 20,750 polling stations, unofficial results from the Daily Nation indicate 66 percent of Kenyans voted for the pro-abortion constitution while 34 percent voted no.

Some 12.5 million people were registered to vote, and more than 3.3 million appear to have voted for the constitution while 1.7 million voted against it. Reuters indicated there were long lines at many polling stations with the Rift Valley centers of Eldoret and Nakuru seeing especially heavy turnout.

William Ruto, a cabinet minister who led the No campaign, told Reuters he would accept the outcome.

“This is an historic moment in our country and I’m sure Kenyans will make the right decision,” he told reporters. “Everyone has an obligation to accept the decision of the people of Kenya.”

Leading pro-life and church groups both in Kenya and across the world, tried to educate voters that the new constitution would allow abortions.

“Many in the media are falsely reporting that the new constitution would not allow abortion except ‘where the life of the mother is in danger,'”Jeanne Head, the National Right to Life Vice President for International Affairs, told LifeNews.com. “The truth is actually the opposite.”

The language in the proposed constitution does not contain any meaningful restrictions on abortion, despite recognition of the right to life from conception.

Instead, Section 26 contains language which allows abortion when in the “opinion of a trained health professional, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or health of the mother is in danger, or if permitted by any other written law.”

Head says this is a reversal of previous Kenyan law on abortion which required the opinion of two medical doctors who were in agreement that an abortion was necessary to save the life of the mother. She said the newly-proposed broad “health” exceptions in the proposed constitution would essentially mean abortion on demand.

She pointed out that a similar health exception was used in the United States Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions. Those rulings gave the United States a policy of legal abortion for virtually any reason throughout the entire length of pregnancy. The result has been the death of more than 52 million unborn children in the United States since 1973.

“If approved, the new constitution would legalize abortion in Kenya, which would dramatically increase the number of abortions and lead to more women hurt and unborn children killed, just as Roe v. Wade has done in the U.S.,” Head concluded.

Meanwhile, members of Congress in the United States have spoken out against the Obama administration’s spending $23 million supporting the pro-abortion constitution.

USAID has reported spending at least $23 million to promote the proposed constitution. The lawmakers questioned the legality of the spending, since current U.S. law bars funding to either advocate either for or against abortion, and the proposed document dramatically changes existing Kenyan abortion laws.

Even if the constitution is ultimately approved, voters will likely have cast ballots for it but not because they favor abortions.

A poll conducted March 21–26 by the polling firm Synovate, formerly known as Steadman, shows the citizens of Kenya are overwhelmingly pro-life.

“Thinking about abortion, which of the following is closest to your view?” the firm asked respondents.

Some 69 percent of Kenya residents are against legalizing abortions while just 9 percent support it. Another 16 percent say it doesn’t matter while 6 percent said they had no opinion.

Answering the question, “When do you believe human life begins?” 77 percent of Kenyans stated that life begins at conception, while 19 percent stated that human life begins at the time of birth.

Respondents were also asked about their views concerning the new Kenyan Constitution and the question found only 19 percent support it as currently written, while a majority, 52 percent, want Parliament to revise the document before passage.

Scott Fischbach, the director of MMCL Go, an international pro-life outreach, provided the polling results to LifeNews.com.

“Currently, advocates of abortion are using the issue of maternal mortality and illegal abortions to argue for legalization of the procedure. However, the answer to illegal abortions and high maternal mortality rates is very simple: provide hope, opportunity and support for pregnant women by insuring a clean water supply, clean blood supply and adequate health care,” he said.

“Kenya is a pro-life country and ought not to head toward an abortion-on-demand policy in its new Constitution,” he added.

On December 10, 1974, the United States National Security Council promulgated National Security Study Memorandum 200 (NSSM-200), also called The Kissinger Report. This document explicitly laid out a detailed strategy by which the United States would aggressively promote population control in developing nations in order to regulate (or have better access to) the natural resources of these countries.

In order to protect U.S. commercial interests, NSSM-200 cited a number of factors that could interrupt the smooth flow of materials from lesser-developed countries, LDCs as it called them, to the United States, including a large population of anti-imperialist youth, who must, according to NSSM-200, be limited by population control. The document identified 13 nations by name that would be primary targets of U.S.-funded population control efforts.

According to NSSM-200, elements of the implementation of population control programs could include: a) the legalization of abortion; b) financial incentives for countries to increase their abortion, sterilization and contraception-use rates; c) indoctrination of children; and d) mandatory population control, and coercion of other forms, such as withholding disaster and food aid unless an LDC implements population control programs.

While the CIA and Departments of State and Defense have issued hundreds of papers on population control and national security, the U.S. government has never renounced NSSM-200, but has only amended certain portions of its policy. NSSM-200, therefore, remains the foundational document on population control issued by the United States government.

White House Backs Kenyan Constitution Allowing Abortion

The Obama administration is offering incentives to Kenya to approve a controversial new constitution that would legalize abortion for the first time, promising that passage will “allow money to flow” into the nation’s coffers, including U.S. aid.

But there’s a hitch to that pledge. A federal law known as the Siljander Amendment passed in 2006 makes it illegal for the U.S. government to lobby on abortion in other countries — and three U.S. lawmakers say they want a federal investigation into the promises made by the administration.

Kenya has long been ripe for a new constitution, one that will balance power in the country and prevent the kind of violent rioting that followed Kenya’s 2007 presidential election.

The Obama administration has vocally expressed enthusiasm for the new constitution, which it says will provide for easier transition of power through more balanced branches of government.
But according to anti-abortion groups in and outside of Kenya, the constitution will cause harm to the nation by overturning its ban on abortion.

Article 26 of the proposed constitution states that abortion is allowed if “in the opinion of a trained health professional, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or health of the mother is in danger or if permitted by any other written law.”

The problem for some is how much that provision is left open to interpretation.

“There are parts of this constitution that violate human dignity,” Rebecca Marchinda, director of advocacy for the human rights coalition World Youth Alliance, told FoxNews.com.

“A trained health professional could be anyone who has health training, including a student or a physical therapist,” Marchinda said. “The provision is also broadly defined to include any kind of health, including psychological health or emotional health. Finally, this clause opens the way to create other laws that make abortion available on demand.”

In a speech delivered last month in Kenya, Vice President Joe Biden urged the Kenyan people to pass the constitution in a referendum scheduled for Aug.4

“The United States strongly supports the process of constitutional reform. … Dare to reach for transformative change, the kind of change that might come around only once in a lifetime,” he said.

“If you make these changes, I promise you, new foreign private investment will come in like you’ve never seen,” Biden added.

According to reports, U.S. ambassador to Kenya Michael Ranneberger told Kenyan officials in May that the U.S. has offered $2 million in taxpayer funds for “civic education” to support the process of enacting a new constitution.

That’s a problem for Republican Reps. Darrell Issa of California, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida and Chris Smith of New Jersey. In letters to the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Government Accountability Office and U.S. Agency for International Development, the lawmakers said they want a federal probe to determine whether the administration violated federal law with its assistance.

Any advocacy by the administration in support of the proposed new constitution would constitute lobbying for abortion,” reads one letter sent in May. “There is no doubt that the administration is advocating for adoption of the proposed constitution.”

Issa’s office confirmed that the congressman has not spoken to Biden regarding the request for a federal probe, and they did not say whether they had received a response from the inspectors general.

Funding from the United States, meanwhile, is the least of the Kenyan pro-lifers’ worries. They are facing violent and even fatal opposition from constitution supporters within their own nation.

A peaceful anti-constitution protest and prayer service on June 13 turned violent when two bombs exploded, killing six people and injuring over 100 more, according to Kenyan newspaper The Standard.

Not only are constitution opponents being bombed, their leaders are being arrested. Three members of the Kenyan parliament were taken into custody on June 16 on charges of alleged hate speech relating to their prominent leadership in opposing the new constitution.

Three other members of parliament were also accused of hate speech, including Higher Education Minister William Ruto, widely seen as a leader in the campaign against the new constitution.

Obadias Ndaba, who works in the World Youth Alliance branch in Kenya, told FoxNews.com that the government “is trying to do everything it takes to pass the constitution.”

“The US VP Biden, while in a visit here, promised that Obama would visit the country only if the constitution is passed,” he wrote in an e-mail Friday.

“What is clear is that we are having a powerful elite in government supported by foreign powers against the weak forces of church leaders (plus few politicians under threat of hate speech) with huge support in the population but with less means and security to get their message across,” he wrote.

Requests for comment sent to the vice president’s office were not returned.

MEET ALAN GUTTMACHER:

Guttmacher Institute is the Research Arm for the largest provider of abortions nationally and internationally – Planned Parenthood and was named after one of Planned Parenthood’s President – Alan Guttmacher.

In 1967, Alan Guttmacher , who was also a Vice President for the American Eugenics Society, said this in 1967- “ I oppose abortion on demand, at least now for the United States, there are several reason. First, the public does not want it… only 20 % of the public favors abortion for single women… Abortion on demand relives the male of all responsibility in the sphere of pregnancy control..he becomes and animal…not far removed from the status of a bull…I favor liberalization of existing [ abortion] statutes…” But…should Guttmacher be legally permitted to do abortions he continues, ” I would abort mothers already carrying three or more children…I would abort women who desire abortion who are drug addicts or severe alcoholics…I would abort women with sub-normal mentality incapable of providing satisfactory parental care…”
(Source; “Abortion: The Issues”, Dr. Alan Guttmacher – President, Planned Parenthood, December 4, 1967, Harvard Law School Forum)

In 1969, Guttmacher as then President of Planned Parenthood-World Population, said this: “ I would like to give our voluntary means of population control full opportunity in the next 10 to 12 years. Then , if these don’t succeed, we may have to go into some kind of coercion, not worldwide, but possibly in such places as India, Pakistan, and Indonesia, where pressures are the greatest…There is no question that birth rates can be reduced all over the world if legal abortion is introduced…” ( SOURCE: Family Planning: The needa and the Methods, by: Alan F. Guttmacher; The American Journal of Nursing, Vol. 69, No. 6. (June, 1969) PP. 1229-1234)

And in February of 1970 Alan Guttmacher was interviewed by the Baltimore Magazine and said this
Our birth rate has come down since we last talked.. I think we’ve hit a plateau- the figure’s not likely to drop much more unless there is more legal abortion. , or abortion on request as we call it…My own feeling is that we’ve got to pull out all the stops and involve the United Nations…If you’re going to curb population, it’s extremely important not to have it done by the dammed Yankees, but by the UN. Because the thing is, then it’s not considered genocide. If the United States goes to the Black man or the yellow man and says slow down your reproduction rate, we’re immediately suspected of having ulterior motives to keep the white man dominant in the world. If you can send in a colorful UN force, you’ve got much better leverage.”

This is about POPULATION CONTROL – A stunning new film: Maafa21 shows how Planned Parenthood and their founders and leaders like Guttmacher were all muddied up in Eugenics

Simply listen to the words of Guttmacher told a symposium at the University of California Medical Center in 1966 he stated that, “the belief that the white middle class was coercing their own poor and people with black and yellow skins to reduce family size because the middle-class whites are frightened of being outnumbered.”

The only way the mounting feeling that birth control is a tool of racism can be handled, is to involve knowledgeable leaders from the minority groups who understand and are favorable to the philosophy of birth control. They, in turn, must translate their appreciation of the contribution which birth control can make toward family stability to their own people.” (SOURCE: New York Times: Doctor blames his profession for delays on Family Planning: 1/16/1966)

WASHINGTON, July 21 /Christian Newswire/ — With just two weeks to go until Kenyans vote on a new Constitution, World Congress of Families Managing Director Larry Jacobs announced the conclusion of a successful petition drive “In Support Of The ‘No’ Campaign — Kenyans Opposed To The Pro-Abortion Constitution.”

In less than a week, the Congress gathered signatures from more than 170 pro-life and pro-family leaders in 21 countries. Signers include former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Former Boston Mayor and Vatican Ambassador Ray Flynn and Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, as well as current or former members of the parliaments of Britain, Australia and the European Union, and the Congresses of Poland and the Philippines.

Organizations whose leaders are represented include: Endeavour Forum (Australia) — Alliance for Romania’s Families — Christian Legal Centre (U.K.) — Family Values Organization (U.K.) — Priests for Life — Population Research Institute — National Federation of Orthodox Pro-Life Associations from Romania — Family Watch International — Tradition, Family and Property — Parents Forum Switzerland — Concerned Women for America — Alliance Defense Fund — The Family Network (Mexico) — Action for the Family (Belgium) — Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute — International Council of Catholic Men — Spanish Federation of Pro-Life Organizations — Spanish Pro-Life Association – Right to Life Spain — REAL Women of Canada — Lutherans for Life (Latvia) — Human Life International — Women for Life International — Catholics for the Common Good — United Families International — Heartbeat International — Liberty Counsel — Americans United for Life — National Right to Life Committee — Marriage and Family Centre (Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia) — Filipino Family Fund — Silent No More Campaign — Christian Heritage Party of Canada — Religious Freedom Coalition — The Free Synod of The Church of Sweden — LifeSiteNews.com — Malta Unborn Child Movement — HazteOir.org (Speak Out, Spain) — The Justice Foundation — The John Paul II Movement for The Family (Mexico), Family and Society (Mexico) — Latin American Alliance for the Family – The Howard Center for Family, Religion & Society — March of Repentance (U.K.) — Life Legal Defense Foundation — American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists — American Alliance of Jews and Christians — Association for the Defense of Christian Values (Italy) — Doctors Health Initiative (Nigeria) — African Anti-Abortion Coalition/Global Po-Life Alliance — Eagle Forum — Foundation for African Cultural Heritage — Institute for Judaism and Civilization (Melbourne, Australia) — Fr. Jacobs observed: “Kenyans are literally fighting for the hope and future of their nation — the lives of unborn children. The Constitution, which will be voted on by Kenyans on August 4, includes language which overturns current Kenyan law prohibiting abortion except to save the mother’s life. It would allow abortion when the mother’s ‘health’ is affected by a continuation of pregnancy. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines “health” to include ‘complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.’ Thus, Section 26 of the proposed Constitution sets up a mechanism for unrestricted abortion on demand at any time during pregnancy.”
Africa has been targeted by international population control groups for legalized abortion despite a 47% drop in Kenyan fertility and projections that show a declining population in the next 50 years. It’s reported the Obama administration has spent over $23 million to promote the pro-abortion Constitution and open the door to killing black babies throughout Africa.

Jacobs: “We urge the people of Kenya to carefully consider the consequences of this fatal move, which could be the first step on a road the West has followed, leading to one-quarter of all pregnancies in the U.S. ending in abortion. Once again, the legacy of Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood is revealed with their racist agenda to eliminate black Africans. The history of 21st Century black genocide from abortion is chronicled in the documentary movie, Maafa21 (www.maafa21.com).”

AP: Vote on Kenyan constitution “may” spark violence- correction to the AP “it already has” !

The AP is reporting: AP:Vote on Kenyan constitution may spark violence

If I recall it already sparked violence ( See videos below story) Why did the AP ignore this in their article? Perhaps because the Obama administration backs this pro-abortion pro-Muslim/sharia law constitution? ( Refer to previous articles in my blog under Kenya)

(AP) – 7-15-2010
NAIROBI, Kenya — Political observers in Kenya fear violence could break out if a proposed constitution is adopted during a referendum early next month.
Academic researchers and conflict specialists are meeting in Nairobi to discuss how to prevent violence over the Aug. 4 vote.

Kenya votes on a new constitution next month. The draft has two controversial clauses — one that allows abortion in life-threatening pregnancies and a second one recognizing Muslim courts used to resolve family disputes.

While holding the vote risks violence, political scientist Duncan Okello said Thursday that delaying the referendum could result in even more bloodshed.
More than 1,000 people were killed in postelection violence after Kenya’s 2007 presidential vote.

Violence already broke out against pro-lifers in Kenya:

Kenyan churches blame gov’t for blasts at rally

Associated Press 6/14/2010

A group of anti-abortion Kenyan churches and Christian groups on Monday blamed Kenya’s government for involvement in two explosions that ripped through a packed rally protesting the country’s proposed constitution.

The accusation over Sunday evening’s attack could set a contentious tone between the groups supporting and opposing the draft constitution, which the country votes on in early August. The most divisive issue in the proposed constitution is on abortion, which the draft would allow to save the mother’s life.

Kenya’s president and prime minister support the new constitution, and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden urged Kenyans to embrace constitutional reform during a speech here last week. But prominent politicians and Kenya’s church community want the draft defeated because of its allowances for abortion and a clause that would recognize informal courts used by Kenya’s Islamic community.

“Having been informed over and over that the passage of the new constitution during the referendum is a government project, we are left in no doubt that the government, either directly or indirectly, had a hand in this attack. Who else in this country holds explosive devices?” said a statement signed by the National Council of Churches of Kenya and 14 other churches and groups.

Two blasts ripped through a downtown Nairobi park at dusk Sunday as a rally against the draft was concluding. Some of the victims suffered severe injuries from the blasts, but others were wounded as the crowd of thousands stampeded out of the park after the second explosion.

Authorities on Sunday said five people had died, but police on Monday said they had found a sixth body — a 51-year-old man with shrapnel wounds in a car next to the park. He was believed to have been injured in the blast and stumbled to his car, where he died.

Paramilitary police combed through Uhuru Park on Monday for clues. They walked in a long horizontal line through the expansive field of grass.

Backers against the draft said the explosions would not deter their campaign, and the group of churches said they also held the ‘yes’ campaign to pass the new constitution responsible for the blasts.

“We therefore hold the government and the Yes team responsible for the attack and for the blood that was shed unless they prove to Kenyans that someone else planted and detonated the devices,” the group said.

The last major bombing in Nairobi was in 1998, when the U.S. embassies here and in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, were hit simultaneously, killing 225 people in an attack blamed on al-Qaida.

Abortion row

The rally was organised by Christian groups opposed to a draft constitution because it retains recognition of existing Islamic courts and includes a clause on abortion.

Kenyans are due to vote on the new constitution in a referendum in August.

Victim of Nairobi blast, 13 June At least 20 people were injured in the Nairobi blast

As part of a power-sharing deal to end deadly riots following elections in December 2007, it was agreed that a new constitution would be written.

Both supporters of Mr Odinga and President Mwai Kibaki generally support the draft constitution.

The document provides for greater checks on presidential powers and more regional devolution.

However, Christian church leaders are campaigning for a “No” vote after an amendment to abolish abortion on medical grounds failed.

Supporters of the new constitution deny that it opens the door to legalised abortions.

Christian church leaders also oppose the continued recognition in the draft document of Islamic family courts.

The Islamic Kadhi courts – set up under British colonial rule – mainly deal with matters of marriage and inheritance for Kenya’s Muslim minority.

The NO campaign team was in Sotik to drum support for their side ahead of the August referendum on the proposed constitution. The leaders led by higher education minister William Ruto used the land chapter as basis for rejection of the proposed set of laws. The group argued that allowing parliament to set limits on the minimum and maximum land one can own will discriminate small scale farmers. The NO campaigners also took issue with visiting American Vice President Joe Biden’s endorsement of the proposed constitution.
