16 infants in Florida born alive after surviving abortion attempts

abortion survivors

Over the past few years, a total of sixteen babies have been born alive after attempted abortions in the state of Florida, according to online reports. The information, collected by the state from abortion providers, is compiled in the report, “ITOP Report of Infants Born Alive, By County Where Terminations Occurred, Florida,” on file at the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). According to a spokesperson from the AHCA, ITOP stands for “Induced Termination of Pregnancy.”

Thus far in 2018, one baby has been born alive in Florida during an abortion attempt. In 2017, there were 11 abortion survivors. There were none recorded born alive in 2016 or 2013, but there were four abortion survivors in 2015.

A previous Live Action News report noted that in 2015 alone, there were several reports of abortion survivors: one in Michigan, five in Minnesota, and, as already mentioned, four in Florida — three in Alachua County and one in Jackson County. That same year, 5,132 elective abortions were reportedly committed on women between the 13th and 24th week of pregnancy; that number has since been updated to 5,195 with a total of 5,695 for all reasons, including various “health” reasons.

Now, only a few years later, that number has increased substantially, especially in Alachua County.

Although the documents do not indicate whether the reports of abortion survivors originated from a hospital or an abortion facility, records currently on file with the state reveal that there are only two licensed abortion facilities in Alachua County where ten babies have been reported to have survived abortion attempts since 2015. One is an abortion facility called Bread and Roses, and the other is the All Women’s Health Center, a chain which operates multiple abortion facilities in the state — including the only licensed abortion facility in Seminole County, where one baby was reported to have survived an abortion in 2017.

State records also show that there are six licensed abortion facilities in Hillsborough County, where three babies survived abortion attempts in 2017. Of those six facilities, two are Planned Parenthood centers. In Jackson County, where one baby survived an abortion in 2015, there are currently no licensed abortion facilities.

In Orange County, where another baby survived an abortion attempt in 2017, there are currently three licensed abortion facilities (down from five in 2016 and six in 2017) including two Planned Parenthood facilities and a late-term facility operated by the infamous James Scott Pendergraft.

Florida’s official definitions for how abortion providers are to file their reports define a baby born alive as one that is breathing, has a beating heart, or has voluntary muscle movements after expulsion:

Was/were the infant(s) born alive during or immediately after attempted abortion? – Select the appropriate response. “Born alive” is defined in 390.011(4), F.S. as: “Born alive” means the complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of a human infant, at any stage of development, who, after such expulsion or extraction, breathes or has a beating heart, or definite and voluntary movement of muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut and regardless of whether the expulsion or extraction occurs as a result of natural or induced labor, caesarean section, induced abortion, or other method.

What happened to the babies who survived the attempted abortions is unclear, as no additional information was available from the reports.

Florida law requires that “[a]n infant born alive during or immediately after an attempted abortion must be immediately transported and admitted to a hospital pursuant to s. 390.012(3)(c) or rules adopted thereunder.” The law also requires that any employee of a hospital, physician’s office, or an abortion clinic who is aware of a violation of the born-alive law must report it.

In 2013, as Live Action News has previously reported, during hearings in Florida about protecting abortion survivors, lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow (representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates), admitted to the Florida legislature that Planned Parenthood takes issue with allowing infants born alive after failed abortions to be transported to a hospital.

In the video, the Planned Parenthood spokesperson states that the organization believes the decision about whether to assist a baby who survives and abortion should be left up to the woman and her abortion provider. The shocking dialogue shows the depraved mentality behind abortion – that even if the baby escapes the horrific procedure alive and is struggling to survive on the table, abortion providers still want the power to terminate that child’s life.

Since 2015, the state of Florida has reported nearly 221,000 abortions (YTD) including over 13,000 “elective” second trimester (13 to 24 weeks) abortions out of a total of 16,000 second trimester abortions for all reasons, including “health of the mother or baby.”

To date, the state has only reported one third trimester abortion since 2015.

Reports detailing health inspections at Florida abortion facilities for 2016 reveal that deficient practices were identified in 23 of the 68 inspections conducted by health officials that year, and 15 out of 55 in 2017. Inspectors found expired medications, missing documents, discrepancies in medical records, inadequate equipment, and one including missing documentation on gestational age, among other infractions. In addition, in 2016, state fines were issued in 20 instances where abortion facilities filed late ITOP reports. The following year, in 2017, fines were assessed in 10 instances for facilities which filed late reports.

Infants born alive inside abortion facilities have haunted the abortion industry for many years, as Live Action News has documented several times. In fact, one national news outlet even dubbed the term the “dreaded complication.” In 2013, Live Action’s undercover cameras exposed the chilling admissions of abortionists inside America’s late-term abortion industry during third trimester abortions and partial-birth abortions. Although these abortionists confess to the humanity of often viable, fully developed children, they inflict inhuman and cruel abortion procedures against them.

In the video above, you can hear one abortion staffer telling Live Action’s undercover patient that “one medical definition of a baby, I think, is, technically, until it’s born. Until then, when it’s in gestation it’s considered a fetus.”

This kind of delusional dehumanization of preborn children is the very reason why abortion is so prevalent today.

Planned Parenthood Orlando, Florida doc caught on undercover tape discussing “compliance” with PBA law

From the Center for Medical Progress:

PLANNED PARENTHOOD MED DIRECTOR: “DISMEMBERMENT” ABORTION “CHECKBOX” SKIRTS FEDERAL PARTIAL-BIRTH LAW
Dr. Suzie Prabhakaran, Medical Affairs VP for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, Confirms PPFA Uses Paperwork to Fake Compliance with Late-Term Abortion Rules

ORLANDO, July 27–Never-before-released undercover video shows Dr. Suzie Prabhakaran, the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, graphically discussing Planned Parenthood’s late-term “dismemberment” and partial-birth abortion protocols in the context of fetal body part harvesting.

The new video comes as the U.S. Senate is debating provisions to terminate taxpayer subsidies to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest abortion business.

At a Planned Parenthood conference evening reception, CMP investigators posing as buyers from a biotech company discuss partnering with Dr. Prabhakaran’s Planned Parenthood affiliate in order to harvest fetal organs and tissues from the 2nd-trimester abortions performed there. Prabhakaran advises that her affiliate is merging with the Orlando Planned Parenthood, which does abortions up to 23 weeks and has a high procedure volume, with eighteen abortions at 18-weeks and above scheduled for the next week.

Prabhakaran discusses how Planned Parenthood allows their abortion doctors to certify compliance with the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, which prohibits abortions in which a fetus is extracted alive up to certain anatomical landmarks (18 U.S.C. 1531). According to Prabhakaran, Planned Parenthood abortion doctors can certify compliance with the law by using a feticide like digoxin to kill the fetus before the abortion, or they can simply “document” their “intent” to do a “dismemberment” abortion where the fetus is pulled apart with forceps rather than extracted intact.

“So some people train to just document that like, you know to comply with the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, you basically have to say, ‘I intend to utilize dismemberment techniques for this procedure,’” explains Prabhakaran. “So every time you do a procedure, that’s how you document. So, like, there’s like a checkbox,” Prabhakaran states, “so it would be before the procedure, you do your evaluation, you write, ‘I intend to utilize dismemberment techniques for this procedure.’”

Prabhakaran indicates she never uses digoxin to kill the fetus before the abortion, and relies entirely on the “checkbox” to “document” her intent in the abortion to certify compliance with the federal law: “I’m not doing digoxin, and we’re just going to document and there’s never been a problem.”

Prabhakaran’s description of Planned Parenthood’s loose protocols for 2nd-trimester abortion procedures corroborates statements by Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, in CMP’s first undercover video, that show a lax attitude toward the partial-birth abortion law:

“The Federal [Partial-Birth] Abortion Ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation. So there are some people who interpret it as it’s intent. So if I say on Day 1 I do not intend to do this, what ultimately happens doesn’t matter.”

Nucatola states in the first video that Planned Parenthood abortion doctors can make changes to the abortion technique in order to bring the fetus out intact for body parts harvesting, regardless of any initial “intent” statement: “So if you do it starting from a breech [feet-first] presentation, there’s dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last step, you can evacuate an intact calvarium [head] at the end.”

CMP project lead David Daleiden notes, “Planned Parenthood medical directors and abortion doctors feign compliance with the federal partial-birth abortion law on paper, knowing full well that ‘what ultimately happens doesn’t matter’ so long as no one is scrutinizing what they actually do to women and children in the operating room. And the fact that Planned Parenthood has a ‘dismemberment’ ‘checkbox’ on their abortion forms should tell the public and policymakers everything they need to know about this barbaric abortion business. The Department of Justice should open an immediate investigation into Planned Parenthood’s late-term abortion practices, and the U.S. Congress must stop forcing taxpayers to subsidize Planned Parenthood’s brutal abortion empire.”

Florida abortion clinic may close after owner’s arrest and criminal charges

The State of Florida is threatening to close an abortion clinic owned by a notorious late term abortion provider who was recently arrested on drug charges in another state. James Scott Pendergraft, who operates 5 abortion clinics in the state, was arrested in October of 2015 for possession of drugs after being stopped for speeding in South Carolina. As Live Action News previously reported, at the time of his arrest, Pendergraft, was also found to have in his possession surgical implements that were covered in blood and human tissue from abortions he had illegally performed throughout South Carolina. Despite having his medical license revoked at the time, Pendergraft was only charged with being in the possession of illegal narcotics.

Spartanburg County filed the criminal charges against Pendergraft and made his first court appearance in December of last year.

In January 2016, The Agency for Health Car Administration (AHCA), which licenses abortion clinics in the sunshine state, filed an action to revoke Pendergraft’s license to operate the Orlando Women’s Center abortion clinic located at Lucerne Terrace. AHCA’s complaint states that, “with his arrest and criminal charges, Mr. Pendergraft is disqualified and is no longer in compliance with Florida law.”

AHACA Pendergraft abortion

“It all has to do with drug charges out of South Carolina but unfortunately nothing to do with any of the other things he has done in the state,” Michele Herzog, spokesperson of Pro-life Action Ministries who side walk counsels in front of Pendergraft’s Orlando abortion facilities.

James Pendergraft

Pendergraft has had his medical license suspended several times by the state’s medical board before it was eventually revoked indefinitely. In 2011, Pendergraft lost a lawsuit after the baby survived a late term abortion attempt. The woman was awarded $36 million in damages to take care of the child who is now severely disabled.

Herzog pointed out that Pendergraft aggressively advertises his late term abortion clinics nationwide, offering women abortion discounts to get them to his door as well appointments on Sunday. But, despite his persistence, Herzog is optimistic that his abortion clinics will eventually be shut down. She said that are a number of faithful Christians are praying in front of Pendergraft’s abortion clinics and reaching out to the women he profits off of.

All 5 Pendergraft abortion facilities are covered in prayer Herzog said noting that she organizes the outreach outside EPOC abortion clinic in Orlando where other faithful pro-lifers join her. Pro-lifer and evangelist John Barros and several others ministers outside Orlando Women’s Center (OWS), where pro-lifers have witnessed women taken from the clinic by ambulances. But, they often speak to women who change their mind and choose to keep their baby.

“Through Barros’ faithful ministry many babies are alive today,” Herzog said.

Barros responded to news that OWS might be closed by the state, telling WFTV, “God uses different things in different ways and it usually is in different ways than we could ever have imagined.

In Ft. Lauderdale, John and Tewannah Amen as well as members of Broward County Right to Life pray and sidewalk counsel outside the Ft. Lauderdale Women’s Center. Pendergraft’s Tampa and Ocala abortion facilities are also covered with prayer and pro-life sidewalk counselors on a regular basis.

This abortion empire needs to come to an end,” Herzog said.

Pro-lifers in Florida have watched God close a number of clinics in the state including two already this year. WomanCare in Orlando and Planned Parenthood of Winter Haven closed their doors after years of prayer and hard work from the activists. Herzog said that WomanCare abortion clinic was evicted the end of January just months after she and a group of prayer warriors walked inside the clinic on Good Friday 2015 and prayed for God to close the clinic permanently. Although staff was in the building, no one knew the pro-lifers were in the waiting room until they left.

The Winter Haven Planned Parenthood, which just closed their doors, was also covered in prayer on a regular basis. Herzog said that pro-lifer Scott Newman along with members of Sidewalk Advocates for Life, who originally reported the closing, faithfully prayed and sidewalk counseled in front of that abortion facility as well.

In February I posted a video showing Florida abortionist James Gordon Gengelbach outside the Bread and Roses abortion clinic in Clearwater telling a pro-life demonstrator that he is not allowed to take and or post his picture online. He threatened to call his lawyer as well.

This week, the abortionist told a group of demonstrators that showed up at his home, “We know who you are, we know where you live, we know where you work, paybacks are gonna be hell.”

Kinda sounded like a threat.

Paybacks are gonna be hell!” , the abortionists said.

According to the website Forerunner Gengelbach is a circuit riding abortionist who kills children at several locations:

Pro-choice man attacks pro-life women outside abortion clinic

An angry pro-choice man outside a Central Florida abortion clinic assaulted a woman and threatened another pro-life woman side-walk counseling out front.

All womens health center abortion clinic

On Tuesday, two pro-life women outside the All Women’s Health Center abortion clinic in Orlando were threatened by a pro-choice man who claimed to be a a Christian.

He ended up assaulting one of the sidewalk counselors and knocking her camera out of her hands.

He did not stop until the women talked of 911 coming.

In several videos uploaded on Facebook you can hear the pro-life women’s voice shaking as they ask the abortion clinic security guard to call 911.

Angry prochoice man

The man keeps saying F-you.

According to one of the witnesses:

When the man and his wife first arrived at the abortion clinic, she went into the clinic immediately and the man quickly approached the pro-life women who were sidewalk counseling outside.

He expressed to the women that he was not happy about the abortion but – felt it was necessary because he already had 6 kids and could not afford more.

He told the women that he spent the morning crying because he didn’t want to abort the child, but because his wife was afraid of complications during childbirth as she had some previously, he was leaving the decision of abortion to her.

After coming out of the abortion clinic a while later, one of the pro-life women called out to him, “You call yourself a Christian. If you are, then you can trust that the Lord will provide for you. He will provide for your seventh child. You can trust Him.

You say oe more thing to me

That’s when he turned to Anne (last name withheld for her protection) who was later struck by the man and said, “Are you talking to ME?!!

Prochoice man attckes prolife woman

According to Anne, he charged at her saying things like, “You don’t know who you’re f…ing talking to! You are f…ing talking to me about trust!

And then he started talking about how white people are killing black people and how he is subject to losing his life.”

“I was trying to tell him that, even though the situation looked so hopeless, God has promised to help those who trust in him.

Another sidewalk counselor, Michele, had offered help the angry man and he threatened her as well, telling her that he was going to destroy her camera if she filmed him, and knocking her sunglasses off her face.

I’ll break that f-ing phone,” he said, “You need my permission to do that sh**.”

I was scared he was going to hurt her. Thankfully, both she and I were able to record his aggression,” Anne stated.

Note- the abortion clinic has a security guard who seemed to wait a while before rendering aid.

Pro-lifers report that the police were called and charges of assault are pending.

Michele told Saynsumthn that she and Anne are are doing well, albeit very shaken from the event.

Michele believes it was an abortion victim sign they held that initially set the man off.

Signs showing the truth of abortion often convict those seeking to kill their children.

The women are asking for prayers of safety while they continue to speak out for innocent unborn children.

Pro-life women enter abortion clinic and quietly pray inside

Today, a group of pro-life women walked into a local abortion facility and spent time in prayer.

1958447_10206273124176809_7617304309445994048_n

Michele Herzog who is a regular side walk counselor in Central Florida told Saynsumthn blog that they held a Good Friday Service outside Woman Care abortion clinic in Orlando owned by abortionist Ralph Bundy.

She said they regularly pray outside the All Women’s Abortion clinic but today they felt God leading them to WomanCare to pray that God would close them down.

The clinic is in a medical complex and while they were praying everyone felt they should just go up to the clinic door and pray.

1509689_10206273123176784_1254316077802528608_n

As they headed toward the clinic door, Herzog said she just felt like they should go inside and pray.

Herzof Woman Care

Herzog said that when they opened the door, no one was at the reception desk, “We wanted to go in and pray and remove the stronghold,” Herzog said.

There was one woman sitting in the clinic whose daughter was there for an abortion and as the group began to pray, the woman bowed her head.

Herzog said that to her knowledge the woman and the daughter did not leave the premises.

No one ever came up to the reception desk, they never knew we were in there. God just kept them away,” she stated.

A video the group made while inside the clinic shows the women quietly praying :

We just felt we needed to be inside,” said another pro-lifer, “Truly God was with us through the whole ordeal!”

A staff member of the abortion facility later came outside and told the women that they couldn’t be in the area and said she called the police.

Herzog said that they left before any officers arrived.

The bottom line, I felt of the Lord to pray there,” said Herzog, “So that this place would be turned into a place of life and not death,” she said.

Michele has written her thoughts about this prayer event and you can read them here.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, abortionist James Gengelbach tells a pro-lifer outside the Bread and Roses abortion clinic in Clearwater, Florida that he is not allowed to take and or post his picture online.

Abortion Doc Bread and Roses

Hey Deb, police told us last week – you cannot take my picture in the workplace,” Gengelbach says.

If you’re here again next week, I’m call’n the cops,” the abortionists threatens, “Any pictures you’ve taken and put on websites have to take them down,” he says.

He then tells her, “I’ll give you two weeks before my lawyer gets you, OK?

The abortion clinic administrator is Dorothy Brown and the clinic is owned by Diana Thomas under the corporate name INDIAN ROCKS WOMAN’S CENTER, INC.

The clinic had been previously owned by Jodell Nauert who inherited the abortion clinic chain from her abortionist husband George when he died in 2007.

Nauert is a singer in a country/rock band called Angelus.

According to the Agency for Healthcare Administration, which regulates abortion clinics in the state, the 1560 South Highland Ave, Clearwater location was fined $200.00 last year for failing to submit a requited monthly report of abortions performed on time.

In 2010, the abortion clinic was cited under the name INDIAN ROCKS WOMAN’S CENTER, INC for the exact same thing.

Oddly enough, it also happened in 2009 and again in 2008.

Maybe the abortionists should get the clinic he works for to clean up their own act first before insisting that pro-lifers comply with “the rules.”

Just say’n that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

According to the website www.abortiondocs.org Gengelbach also works at the Audre Rapoport Women’s Health Center-Planned Parenthood.
