Pro-life group charges Planned Parenthood nurse performed illegal abortions, files complaint

A pro-life group in New Mexico has filed a formal complaint with the State’s Nursing Board accusing a nurse of performing abortions in violation of state law. Protest ABQ, say that they uncovered documentation showing that registered nurse Vivianne Clark (license number RN-71112) performed several abortions, some late term, in violation of state law which requires that only licensed physicians perform abortions. The pro-life group also claims that Clark is employed by Planned Parenthood of New Mexico.

Vivianne Clark Planned Parenthood

Tara Shaver, spokesperson for ProtestABQ told Saynsumthn that New Mexico law states that only licensed physicians can perform abortions. Shaver said they discovered the alleged illegal abortions through an IPRA request for Medicaid data since New Mexico is one of 17 states that uses state money for abortions and report on the numbers annually. “You can see from the Medicaid data that she is doing 1st and 2nd trimester abortions up to 24 weeks,” Shaver said.

Shaver sent Saynsumthn a copy of the report. It was dated 2013 and entitled: New Mexico Pregnancy Terminations Paid in Calendar Year 2013, noting that some of the services were performed in 2012, but were paid through Medicaid Managed Care Organizations. An analysis of the report shows that Medicaid paid a total of $160,007.51 for 811 abortions. The report listed several abortion doctors including Curtis Boyd, a late term abortionist who operates in Albuquerque. In the report, Boyd was paid for several abortions he performed between 17 to 24 weeks.

Vivianne M. Clark is also listed as receiving payments for abortions. In 2013, Clark received a total of $10,396.12 for 81 abortions, a majority which were performed between 17 and 24 weeks.

    $6203.22 for 34 Induced Abortions – 17-24 Weeks
    $2470.03 for 12 Induced abortion – 17 to 24 weeks
    $364.29 for 1 – Induced abortion – 17-24 weeks
$1236.45 for 14 Mifepristone oral 200 mg abortions
$122.13 for 20- Misoprostol oral 200 mcg abortions

According to ProtestABQ, the Medicaid data they obtained through a public records request indicates that New Mexico taxpayers have footed the bill for over 200 illegal abortions performed by Vivianne Clark. And, reports provided to ProtestABQ show that Vivianne Clark was paid for abortions as far back as 2012.

Although the location where the abortions were performed is not noted on the reports, Shaver said that Clark is a nurse who works at Planned Parenthood of New Mexico ( Operated by: Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, Inc.) pointing to this online business listing showing Clark as a Planned Parenthood nurse practitioner.

PLanned Parenthood Vivianne Clark

Listings at this website show 2 Planned Parenthood locations where Clark allegedly works. A search on the New Mexico Medical Board website which provides and maintains physician data as part of its official website, shows that there is no licensed physician by the name of Vivianne Clark:

Vivianne Clark NM Medical Board license verification

“It just so happens that the only law in New Mexico apparently not being enforced says that only physicians can perform abortions. She is violating a criminal statute and the penalty is a 4th felony,” Shaver said.

The New Mexico Board of Nursing has confirmed receiving the complaint and say it has been referred it to the board’s investigators, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

A copy of the formal complaint filed with the New Mexico Board of Nursing reads in part:

I have attached proof that Ms. Clark has been reimbursed by New Mexico Medicaid from 2013 to 2013 for abortions she performed in the first and second trimesters, up to 24 weeks of pregnancy.Ms. Clark's actions are in violation of the New Mexico Criminal Abortion Statute (§ 30-5-1, et seq.)

I respectfully request that the Board of Nursing investigate this matter in the interest of public safety and that you take appropriate action against Ms. Clark, including revocation of her license if warranted, for her violation of New Mexico law.

Planned Parenthood has denied the charges.

“It is a disturbing fact that New Mexicans are funding an illegal abortionist through NM medicaid. The over 200 abortions that we have been able to document, based on the NM medicaid data, are only the tip of the iceberg as far as the total number of abortions Vivanne Clarke has performed over the years in clear violation of New Mexico law,” states Bud Shaver, executive director of Protest ABQ in a statement regarding their complaint.

“We are calling upon the New Mexico Nursing Board to do a thorough investigation to get to the bottom of this. Based on what we can already prove, Vivianne Clarke’s nursing license should be revoked immediately,” he added.

Hospital halts training program with late term abortion clinic which provides “fetal tissue”

Univ NM

A New Mexico University has halted a training program using doctors from a late term abortion clinic which provides the University with fetal tissue for research. The Albuquerque Journal newspaper has reported that the University of New Mexico (UNM), which is a publicly-funded institution, has cut ties with Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO), a late-term abortion facility owned by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd and has been the subject if a previous undercover sting conducted by Live Action. The abortionist is one of a handful of doctors in the country that performs abortions in the third trimester. He claims to be a former Baptist minister and admits that he knows he “is killing.” Southwestern Women’s has a location in Dallas and one in Albuquerque.

Pro-lifers Tara and Bud Shaver who founded the pro-life group, ProtestABQ, have diligently exposed the late term clinic for years. In July, Tara Shaver filed a formal criminal complaint with the Attorney General of New Mexico asking for a complete and thorough investigation of Boyd’s clinic following revelations that Planned Parenthood was taking part in a gruesome baby parts operation. Shaver indicated Boyd was also using the body parts of babies he aborted for research. She based her allegations on documents obtained by prolifewitness.org indicating SWO staff members are, “ in fact, harvesting baby body parts for use in medical research.”

The documents included copies Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) informed consent paperwork which every abortion patient must sign indicating that Boyd and (SWO) may be using aborted babies in medical research.

The 2015 consent form (image above) states:

“I understand that the pregnancy tissue will be removed from my body during this procedure. The pregnancy tissue may be examined here at the Clinic and the Clinic doctors may dispose of the tissue according to the law. The pregnancy tissue may be used for medical research.”

This consent form from 2012 (image below) says, “tissue and parts will be removed during the procedure.”

2012-Abortion-Consent-Southwestern-abortion-Boys-fetal-harvest

The form goes on to state, “and I consent to their examination and their use in medical research and their disposal by the clinic and/or physician in the manner they deem appropriate.”

Protest ABQ pointed out that New Mexico has a law prohibiting the selling of body parts. But despite the law, UNMH officials admitted to the Journal that they have been accepting fetal tissue from Boyd’s clinic for a decade claiming the abortionist is not paid for the baby body parts. In addition, Dr. Richard Larson, executive vice chancellor and vice chancellor for research at the UNMHSC, the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, told the Journal that Boyd’s clinic is the school’s only supplier of fetal tissue.

To justify the use of dead children in the late gestational age, Larson told the Journal that the “fetal tissue” they collect from Boyd will, “reduce the mortality of premature babies, especially these extremely premature babies.” Officials also claim that their grisly research will reduce the likelihood of blindness, cognitive defects and other anomalies found in newborns between 24 and 30 weeks, the same age as the babies Boyd kills. In a May 2015 letter to UNMH, the Journal reports that Boyd specified that in abortions of less than 20 weeks, his doctors use “aspiration, dilation and evacuation.” Abortions after 20 weeks involve “feticide” by injecting the fetus with the drug Digoxin, Boyd’s letter states.

University officials still find the use of “fetal tissue” acceptable. What they are now publicly distancing themselves from is their training program with Boyd’s clinic and fellow abortionists staff who were described as “faculty” under the training agreements with UNM. The decision by UNMHSC officials to no longer send medical fellows or residents to Boyd’s clinic, follows a letter from New Mexico state Rep. Rod Montoya and other legislators who questioned top Health Sciences Center officials last July about the relationship with Boyd’s clinic and the use of “body parts” from women who have abortions there, the paper states. Montoya told the Journal that the argument could be made that the residents and fellows were helping the clinic augment its staffing for abortions.

“Initially, it had the appearance of being a transaction of sorts,” Montoya said, according to the Journal. “Of staffing in return for the body parts. That’s the appearance, and I informed them, ‘that’s how it appears to me,’ ” adding that he is concerned that there is no oversight of abortion clinics in the state.

“We know that the vast majority of New Mexicans believe we should not have a free-for-all when it comes to abortion
,” the Representative said.

In addition to the using fetal tissue for research in New Mexico a former employee of Boyd’s testified that he also had an agreement with the Director of Fetal Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center to use “large babies” for fetal research there. The former staffer, Nita Whitten, made this statement at a “Meet the Abortion Providers” workshop sponsored by the Pro-life Action League of Chicago, directed by Joe Scheidler:

“One thing that happened at the clinic that I worked at that was incredibly devastating, right before I left. Dr. Boyd had made an agreement with a doctor, and I cannot name this doctor because I just don’t think it would be wise to name him today, but he was the Director of Fetal Research at the University of Texas Health Science Center at that time. He had made an agreement with this doctor to give him our large babies for him to do fetal research on. They did this, and I believe at the time, it was against the law. I don’t know if it is now, and I’m not familiar with the legal terms because I’m not a lawyer, but I remember we were told not to tell anyone, and they only came in secret to get the babies…He had them come in and they dissected a baby for us in our lab room so we could see what they were doing with the body parts. They did that right there and everybody filed in and looked. I looked at it. I pretended like I was being brave and walked out. It made me sick.”

Bud Shaver described the University’s “fetal tissue research” program as unethical and immoral and said that he is now calling for them to cut all ties with the late term abortion doctor, “The University of New Mexico (UNM) has been caught red handed trafficking and using baby body parts for their medical research,” he told Saynsumthn.

“This is unethical and immoral which is why Protest ABQ is calling for UNM to cut all ties with Curtis Boyd at Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) which is their sole provider of baby remains. The fact that the residency training rotation has been stopped at SWO is merely a bandaid on the bigger problem which is UNM’s overall radical abortion agenda which is what Protest ABQ is demanding UNM to halt,” he added.

Planned Parenthood NOT only abortion clinic using ghoulish baby body parts operation say pro-lifers

Pro-lifers in New Mexico claim Planned Parenthood is not the only abortion clinic participating in the ghoulish trade of aborted baby body parts of babies, they say they have proof.

The pro-life group made the claim at a press conference outside an Albuquerque Planned Parenthood.

Protest ABQ Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is not the only provider of abortions that’s willfully breaking a law to benefit their bottom line,” Tara Shaver, spokesperson for Protest ABQ stated.

“Since New Mexico again is the late term abortion capitol of the nation and Albuquerque is home to the largest later term abortion facility in the nation, we have grave reason for concern, “ she said.

Southwestern Womens fetal tissue aborted baby body parts abortion

Shaver brought to the press conference a consent form from Southwestern Women’s Options which may be the smoking gun proving that the grisly operation of using aborted children’s organs and tissue is systemic to the industry as a while.

SouthWestern Womens abortion

Whether it is the first, second, or third trimester, the Southwestern abortion chain advertises to women that they can end her pregnancy.

Southwestern Women’s has a location in Dallas and one in Albuquerque. The clinic is run by an abortionist who once acknowledged that “I am killing.”

curtisboyd

His name is Dr. Curtis Boyd, and he has been at the center of controversy for his statements and his late term abortions for a while.

A detailed report published by Operation Rescue mentions Boyd:

Boyd decided to fill in the void left by the closure of Tiller‘s Wichita late-term abortion clinic last year, he set up shop in New Mexico, where there are no legal gestational age limits on abortions. The liberal make-up of the state government would make the passage of restrictive laws difficult. Boyd and his wife, Glenna, contribute heavily to pro-abortion candidates to insure that their business is protected from pro-life legislation. Boyd‘s late-term abortion clinic, Southwestern Women‘s Options, located near downtown Albuquerque, follows the same plan pioneered and perfected by Tiller. He even hired two of Tiller‘s former abortionists, Shelley Sella and Susan Robinson. Late-term abortions are long sometimes complex procedures, but the financial pay-off is great. Fees for post viability abortions can range from $5,000-$20,000, depending on the gestational age of the baby.

Live Action Carmen Landau abortion

An undercover sting conducted by Live Action quotes an unnamed counselor at the facility advising women to deliver their aborted babies in the toilet:

Abortion toilet Live Action

“If we can’t catch it [delivery of the dead baby – the final stage of the abortion procedure] early enough, which has happened … then you’ll want to unlock the door to the hotel room, get your cell phone, and just sit on the toilet. You don’t have to look at anything … you can stay on the phone with us until the doctor and nurse get there”[.]

The video also shows an abortion counselor describing how she will inject the the 27-week preborn child claiming the child won’t will feel the lethal abortion injection. “[If the baby]’s bottom-down, it’ll insert through the baby’s bottom, [and] if it’s head-down, it’ll be inserted through the cranium.”

I don’t know if it’s developed enough to feel that,” she says. “It might be.”

Which brings me back to Shaver.

The abortion clinic consent form obtained by Shaver reveals that abortionist Boyd is collecting aborted baby body parts in the same way that Planned Parenthood has been caught doing.

Curtis Boyd abortion consent

The consent form from the second and third trimester abortion doctor tells women:

“I understand that tissue and parts will be removed during the procedure, and I consent to their examination and their use in medical research and their disposal by the clinic and/or physician in the manner they deem appropriate.”

Curtis Boyd aborted baby body parts

This form gives us clear indication Southwestern Women’s Options could be harvesting and selling baby body parts in New Mexico. Of great concern as well is the fact that these baby body parts, in order to be harvested, must be free of digoxin.”

Southwestern Womens fetal tissue aborted baby body parts abortion

“Digoxin is actually the drug that is used to cause a fetal heart attack in the second and third trimester abortion procedures that are performed every single week in Albuquerque.

“This means that babies in the latest stages of pregnancy, are likely to be partially birthed and then killed in the womb or…being born alive,” Shaver states.

Shaver points out that the University of New Mexico also does abortions and is a research university.

Shaver obtained the consent form from SWO where the abortion business admits that abortions after 18 weeks are more dangerous than live birth, which contradicts regular pro-abortion talking points.

The undercover video exposing Planned Parenthood and produced by the Center for Medical Progress, has now gone viral, with several lawmakers calling for an investigation.

The shocking video shows top Planned Parenthood abortionist Deborah Nucatola explaining how she manipulates abortion procedures to ensure that specific heart, lungs, and other organs will be protected during the abortion procedure so they can be used for research.

Protest ABQ Planned Parenthood 2

In their press conference, Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life, Tara Shaver, Spokesperson for Protest ABQ, Pastor and Apostle Manny Lardizabal of New Mexico Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network, and Pastor Eric Lamb, Associate Pastor at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque called for their state to not only investigate Planned Parenthood but Southwestern as well.

Recently, Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, admitted that several Planned Parenthood abortion clinic’s participate in the trafficking of human baby body parts. In a response to the undercover video, Ferrero tried to make it look like a nice thing to do when he wrote :

Ericferrero0720_120px

At several of our health centers, we help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research, and we do this just like every other high-quality health care provider does — with full, appropriate consent from patients and under the highest ethical and legal standards. There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood. In some instances, actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed, which is standard across the medical field.”

Years ago, the New York Times looked into the marketing of aborted baby parts and discovered researchers often turned to abortion clinics for their “specimens.” read about that here.

Funeral home sends driver to abortion clinic to pick up “fetus”

Abolitionist Toby Harmon has uploaded a video of his conversation with a Funeral Home employee who showed up at Curtis Boyd’s Albuquerque abortion clinic: Southwestern Women’s Options.

The Funeral Home employee told Harmon that he did not agree with abortion but was requested by the mother for them to pick up the fetus.

An image of the funeral home vehicle taken by Harmon reveals that the funeral home is Riverside Funeral Home.

Riverside

On their website, the late term abortion clinic says that prior to the induction they, “discuss the patient’s wishes for saying goodbye to her baby and make a plan to accommodate her wishes. We offer a memory box containing a receiving blanket, footprints, a certificate of stillbirth and photos. Many women and their support choose to view the baby the day following induction. We can help with arrangements for burial or cremation.”

SW

A call made to the abortion clinic in 2011 revealed that the clinic will arrange for a funeral home to pick up babies they murder.

The abortion clinic tells the caller how they will kill the “fetus” the caller then asks:

Caller: Okay. What happens to the fetal remains? What options do I have there?

SWO’s Sue: Well, you do have some options,uh, from–you know you can certainly make arrangements through a funeral home, if it’s something that you’re wanting to have cremated for example and, uh, the remains shipped to you. Uh, it would have to–those arrangements would have to be made through a funeral home here who then makes arrangements with a funeral home where ever it is that you live. Um. So that certainly is something that some patients do choose to do.

Undercover Call

Harmon described his feelings after posting the vid, “I must admit my emotions and thinking on this are conflicted. It is sick and twisted to murder your own baby and then act like it was a normal death and now decide to call the funeral home to give him or her proper cremation/burial. However, this is the most humanly this pre-born child was ever treated in his short life and reflecting back on it I do not hold the funeral home accountable for his murder, but appreciate that they will, by their services provide him a little dignity.”

Ambulance summoned to abortion clinic again – circuit abortionist Curtis Boyd travels between New Mexico and Texas

Dr. Curtis Boyd is no stranger to controversy. In 1973, Boyd opened the Fairmount Center, which was the first abortion clinic in Texas. Boyd is the only doctor in North Texas who will perform late-term abortions to women up to six months pregnant.

In an interview with the Dallas WFAA station, the abortionist made a jarring admission. Am I killing?” Boyd said. “<em>Yes, I am. I know that.“

Here

In Dallas, Boyd opened the Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center on Greenville Avenue. Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center was founded by Boyd in 1973 as the Fairmount Center abortion clinic. Under this new licensure Boyd can now provide abortion services through 24 weeks of pregnancy.

Boyd also operates an abortion clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico, under the same name: Southwestern Women’s Options.

According to Operation Rescue: Another woman has suffered complications from a botched abortion at Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion mill in Albuquerque, New Mexico, owned and operated by Curtis Boyd.

The latest 911 call obtained by Tara Shaver of Project Defending Life and released to Operation Rescue shows a 31-year old woman who is suffering uncontrolled bleeding after an abortion. The abortion clinic worker who placed the call requested that the patient be transport to the hospital.
This is the eleventh such abortion-related medical emergency at Southwestern Women’s Options in less than two years, and the fourteenth reported abortion emergency overall in Albuquerque in that same time frame.

Both Project Defending Life and Operation Rescue filed complaints about the recent flood of botched abortions with the New Mexico Medical Board (NMMB), but received mixed signals about whether an investigation would be conducted.

Since then, the Attorney General’s office has contacted NMMB’s Executive Director Lynn Hart, regarding the incidents, requesting her “assistance in handling this matter”.
In addition, members of Project Defending Life met with Gov. Susana Martinez to discuss the dangerous conditions that have spawned so many life-threatening abortion complications.
“Our concern is for the safety of women in New Mexico. We were encouraged to hear that Governor Martinez shares these same concerns. In fact, we were thoroughly impressed that the Governor’s office not only knew about the 911 calls, but had already contacted the Executive Director of the Medical Board to insure the investigation was progressing. We now have confidence that the New Mexico Medical Board is conducting a proper investigation,” said Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Project Defending Life after the meeting.

“This latest abortion emergency further instills a new sense of urgency to the Medical Board’s ongoing investigation,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “It is obvious that Albuquerque abortion clinics are ill-equipped to handle complications that occur on a regular basis and are using paramedics as a back-up plan for when things go terribly wrong. This presents an unacceptable risk to public health. If Boyd and other abortionists insist on running unsafe abortion mills with high complication rates and a dangerous lack of access to emergency resources, then they should not be allowed to operate at all.”

Late term North Texas abortionist under investigation in ABQ. More 911 calls show botched and dangerous abortion complications

Curtis Boyd, has been providing abortions in New Mexico since June 1972, shortly after abortion services were legalized in New Mexico. Boyd worked closely doing illegal abortions ( BREAKING THE LAW ) with Clergy Consultation.

Boyd was involved in establishing the National Abortion Federation (NAF) and is a founding member of the Federation’s Board of Directors. Boyd’s wife, Glenna Halvorson-Boyd has served on NAF’s Board of directors and as NAF’s President for two years (1984-1986).

The abortion clinic also has two of former Later Term abortionist Tiller’s employees working there: Dr. Susan Robinson and Dr. Shelley Sella.

In July, the pro-life group, Operation Rescue obtained a series of 911 calls placed from the ABQ Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) over a recent 15-month time span, which reveal a disturbing pattern of life-threatening abortion complications that routinely endanger the lives and health of women.

The first released 911 recording was placed on February 10, 2010. It indicates that SWO had just completed a second-trimester abortion on a 17-year old girl who suffered from a fever, a possible sign of infection, a rapid pulse, and uncontrolled bleeding.Complications mentioned on other 911 recordings included uncontrolled uterine bleeding, an incident of “heavy hemorrhaging”, and a uterine rupture. All patients required emergency transport to local hospitals.

But now Operation Rescue has release eight New Abortion 911 Tapes which reveal causalities, callousness, and cover-ups and a scandalous pattern of botched abortions at two Albuquerque abortion clinics.

Caller told by another clinic employee to “act dumb” to a dispatcher after expressing concerns over questions during a late-term abortion emergency.

The 13 calls show that life-threatening abortion complications requiring emergency assistance occur at the rate of one every 10 weeks.

The eight newly obtained calls were placed between November, 2008 and December, 2009, with six originating from Southwestern Women’s Options, owned by Curtis Boyd, and the UNM Center for Reproductive Health, an abortion clinic that acts as an abortion training grounds for the University of New Mexico.

As disturbing as the critical nature of these life-threatening emergencies are, perhaps more disturbing are the callous attitudes of some of the abortion workers and their willingness to cover up for the abortionists,” said Operation Rescue Senior Policy Advisor Cheryl Sullenger. “The clinic workers are careful about how much information they revealed to the emergency dispatchers, and in many cases, even attempt to shift the blame for the complications onto the woman. Their general actions and attitudes toward the woman they just injured are despicable.”

One clinic worker from Southwestern Women’s Options expressed concern over the questions the 911 dispatcher was asking. While she thought she was on hold, this exchange took place:
SWO Employee: [Whispering] I don’t know – I don’t know what information he’s asking me.

Background Voice: Just talk to him – act dumb.

SWO Employee: [Whispering] Okay. Exactly. Yeah.

The latest tapes obtained under an open records act request made by Tara Shaver of Project Defending Life, who forwarded the recordings to Operation Rescue. They show women ranging in ages from 18 to 34 who were between 8 weeks and approximately 24 weeks pregnant. Complications included:

• Uterine rupture with heavy bleeding.
• A panic-stricken 18-yer old patient with chest pains, numbness, and a severe headache after a late-term abortion.
• Cervical laceration with hemorrhaging.
• Uncontrolled bleeding after first and second trimester abortions.
• Multiple seizures.
• Abortion on a woman with an undiagnosed ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.

“It’s just wrong for paramedics to have to clean up after these abortion quacks every ten weeks. We demand the immediate closure of the two Albuquerque clinics involved for the protection of the public“, said Sullenger.

Operation Rescue is preparing new complaints against the abortionists involved. Three abortionists from Southwestern Women’s Options, Curtis Boyd, Shelley Sella, and Susan Robinson are already under investigation by the New Mexico Medical Board.

Now the State’s Medical Board has opened an investigation into Boyd’s abortion clinic. ( Read here)

Abortionist Curtis Boyd is beloved by the National Abortion Federation (NAF) who tries to convince the public that the abortion industry cares about the safety of women:

This Statement is recorded in a National Abortion Federation Document:
Dr. Curtis Boyd, MD, Albuquerque, New Mexico
As a physician it never occurred to me to do an abortion. I didn’t know how. But as I continued to work with the church groups and to refer women out of the U.S. for abortions, those desperate women kept pleading, “But, Doctor, can’t you do something?” At first, the answer was obvious. Of course not. In their desperation, I’m sure that those women had no idea what they were asking of me. I would risk my medical license, my entire career, my young family’s well being, and my own freedom, if I performed an illegal abortion. Ultimately, I risked all those things which I held dear because I could no longer live with the knowledge that I could do something and I was choosing not to. Many of the doctors of conscience who have provided abortions though the years were moved to do so by the horrors of botched illegal abortions. I saw those ill and sometimes dying women in my medical training too. I was moved by their plight. But that was not what drove me to risk my career and sometimes my life. I was moved by the certain knowledge that women’s lives could be ruined when they could not abort a pregnancy.”

So – he was moved to tears for women but what happens to a person who sees this every day? ( Click Here) or this (Click Here)

Dr. Boyd – perhaps you should be concerned about the “Botched abortions” still going on today especially by YOU ! Will NAF Speak out and condemn this abortionist- I do not think so…

Dallas abortion doctor who admitted he ‘is killing’ is under investigation in ABQ

From KRQE

Tara Shaver is part of Project Defending Life , a local anti-abortion group, she’s the one who requested the 911 tapes.

“We received an anonymous tip that ambulances had been seen going to Southwest Women’s Options,” said Shaver

That’s where Boyd and two colleagues perform late-term abortions. There are only a handful of doctors in the country that do the controversial procedure.

Shaver said what’s on those 911 tapes is scary.

“There have been four major abortion complications at this particular clinic, ranging from a ruptured uterus on a late term abortion procedure to a 17 year old girl with a very high fever.”

Doctor Boyd did not return News 13’s call for comment, but in an interview he did in Texas in the past he said he is a Baptist Minister and asks God to accept the spirit of a pregnancy back into heaven with love and understanding.

News 13 got ahold of a letter the state’s medical board sent saying it has opened an investigation into Boyd’s clinic because of the surgery complications. Shaver said she doesn’t believe the clinic is safe.

DALLAS – Dr. Curtis Boyd, who opened the first abortion clinic in North Texas 36 years ago, has expanded his practice and now provides a rare more controversial procedure known as a late-term abortion for women up to six months pregnant.

I’ve been working day and night to get this open,” he said when asked why he saw a need for such a procedure.

Dr. Boyd opened the Fairmount Center, Texas’ first abortion clinic, in 1973.

But, after 36 years, his practice has outgrown the small office at Fairmount Street and Cedar Springs Road near Uptown.

He merged the clinic with Aaron Women’s Health Center and then reopened them both under a new umbrella known as the Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center at Royal Lane and Greenville Avenue last week.

Unlike his other clinic, the new location is a surgery center, which means Boyd and his staff are now able to offer late-term abortions for women in their second trimester up to six months or 24-weeks pregnant.

For us, since we’ll be serving such a large area, we’ll probably see 2,000 second trimester abortions a year,” he projected.

This is the only place of its kind in North Texas. But, it’s controversial because the fetus in the second trimester is viable.

Before this opened, they’re flying to Albuquerque,” Boyd said of his patients. “They were flying to Kansas, flying to Colorado, sometimes they went to Atlanta. So, there are women who desperately need and want this service and it wasn’t available.

“It is not illegal,” conceded Karen Garnett, Catholic Pro-Life Committee. “But, just because something’s legal doesn’t mean it’s right. Slavery was legal and it wasn’t right. Segregation was legal but it wasn’t right. Abortion is legal but it’s not right.”

The Catholic Pro-Life Committee of Dallas relocated sidewalk counselors to the new clinic hoping to prevent women from going inside.

We feel that if people don’t see the other side then hearts will not be converted,” said Jackie Lee, a sidewalk counselor of seven years. “We’re here to convert hearts.”

Lee and her colleagues said their vigils at Dallas’ five abortion clinics have saved 3,500 pregnancies since 1997.

Boyd said he too has staggering numbers, especially since second trimester abortions. He estimates that since opening the state’s first clinic in 1973, his practice has performed 300,000 abortions.

At 72, Boyd is full of energy, vowing not to stop anytime soon. Those debating what he does vow the same.

At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the Catholic Pro-Life Committee plans a prayer vigil and memorial outside Boyd’s old facility to remember the pregnancies women aborted.

Preventing two abortions Tuesday, Garnett said the sidewalk counselors have remained successful at the new location.

Abortion doctor: ‘Am I killing? Yes, I am’

DALLAS – Dr. Curtis Boyd is no stranger to controversy. In 1973, Boyd opened the Fairmount Center, which was the first abortion clinic in Texas.

Boyd is the only doctor in North Texas who will perform late-term abortions to women up to six months pregnant.

We see patients from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and across Texas,” he said.

Now, the doctor has made a jarring admission.

Am I killing?” Boyd said. “Yes, I am. I know that.

Boyd said he is an ordained Baptist minister who has now turned Unitarian. He said he prays often.

“I’ll ask that the spirit of this pregnancy be returned to God with love and understanding,” he said.

Those prayers are vastly different than the ones that are made by members of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee who gather outside his office in hopes to sway women seeking abortions.

Well, we’re certainly disappointed to hear any unborn child will be killed by abortion,” said Karen Garnett, with the Catholic Pro-Life Committee. “But, to hear it’s a late-term abortion in Dallas, once again, it’s particularly devastating.”

The doctor opened the Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center last week on Greenville Avenue. By law, Boyd must have a surgery center in order to abort a fetus more than 16 weeks along.

But, opposition to the late-term abortions doesn’t just come from religious groups. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, whose district is where the surgery center resides, told News 8 he is troubled by the facility as well.

Boyd said he too has been troubled, but said his plight comes from the torment that drives patients to seek his services.

“The hardest ones are the young girls,” he said.

Girls as young as nine and ten have come to his clinic, he said.

Death threats have become a norm in Boyd’s life. He was a close friend of Dr. George Tiller, who was a Wichita, Kansas abortion doctor murdered in May.

I don’t want the fate that befell Dr. Tiller, but I’m not going to be deterred because what I’m doing is important,” he said.

Boyd said he tries to make his phone numbers and address as private as possible and has heavy security.

In their desperation, I’m sure that those women had no idea what they
were asking of me. I would risk my medical license, my entire career, my young family’s well being, and my own freedom, if I performed an illegal abortion. Ultimately, I risked all those things which I held dear because I could no longer live with the knowledge that I could do
something and I was choosing not to. Many of the doctors of conscience who have provided abortions though the years were moved to
do so by the horrors of botched illegal abortions. I saw those ill and sometimes dying women in my medical training too. I was moved by their plight. But that was not what drove me to risk my career and sometimes my life. I was moved by the certain knowledge that women’s lives
could be ruined when they could not abort a pregnancy.
