Mom fractures baby’s skull with fist for disrupting sleep was also a nurse’s aid
Police say that a 22-year-old mother and nurse’s aid has been charged with assault after repeatedly punching her 2 month-old infant son in the head because his crying disrupted her sleep.
The Ohio mother, Peek Gaddis, has been charged with second-degree felonious assault.
Peek Gaddis “admitted to becoming frustrated with her son … because he was crying and making it difficult for her to sleep,” according to a sworn statement submitted by a Colerain Township police officer.
“Ms. Gaddis admitted to striking her son several times with her fist,” the statement said.
The baby suffered several fractures to his tiny skull as well as internal bleeding in his brain, authorities said.
The judge was horrified and told Gaddis, “Children are precious gifts God gives us. And you’re a nurse on top of that? A nurse’s aide?”
Hamilton County Job and Family Services has removed the infant and a 1-year-old sibling from Gaddis’ care and into foster care, said agency spokesman Brian Gregg,
Meanwhile, another video going viral also shows a nurse bashing a baby in the head.
The video description reads:
One maternity ward at the Sofiamed Hospital in Bulgaria, as one wicked midwife viciously beat a newborn baby.
Emilia seems got annoyed after one of the baby woke up. Failing to put the poor infant to sleep, she beat Nicole several times out of anger.
Nicole ended in intensive care after suffering heavy concussion and bleeding in her head. The newborn is currently in critical condition, but slowly getting better in the hands of the best doctors.
The nurse is currently in 72 hours custody and will be prosecuted for attempted murder.
