Planned Parenthood e-mail: A simple way to save lives

An e-mail message from Planned Parenthood prez, Cecile Richards is entitled, “A simple way to save lives.”

That, in and of itself is laughable considering Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions, for any and all reasons, in all months of pregnancy. So, forgive me if I think that title is absurd!

The e-mail attempted to tell me that removing the Helmes Amendment will “save lives”

The Helmes Amendment prohibits U.S. foreign assistance funds to be used to pay for the performance of abortion as a method of family planning or to motivate or coerce any person to practice abortions.

But Planned Parenthood thinks using our tax dollars to pay for these abortions would “save lives.” Uh – no – in fact, news flash: ABORTION ENDS LIVES!!!

Right now, women around the world can be forced to carry pregnancies caused by sexual assault — or denied care when a pregnancy becomes life-threatening. President Obama can help solve this crisis with the stroke of his pen — and doing so would ensure that our foreign aid reaches the women who desperately need our help. Tell President Obama to act quickly and protect women from the extreme Helms Amendment.

The Helms Amendment prohibits the use of U.S. foreign assistance funds for the performance of abortion as a method of family planning — but it is currently applied as a total ban on funding for all abortion — even in the cases of rape, incest, or a life-endangering pregnancy. With 22,000 women dying annually from unsafe abortions, there is no time to waste and nothing that should be prioritized above saving their lives. Unfortunately, President Obama can’t overturn the full law on his own, but he CAN take a simple and straightforward step to stop this dangerous misinterpretation of it.

Women who are raped do not need to have their own child ripped apart in their womb- they need healing and restoration something Planned Parenthood knows nothing about.
