Pro-life group claims another black woman dies at the hands of an abortionist
Cleveland, OH – Operation Rescue claims that they have confirmed the death and the identity of a patient of the Preterm abortion facility in Cleveland, Ohio, who was transported to University Hospital Case Medical Center on Friday, March 21, 2014.
According to the anti-abortion group, Lakisha Wilson, 22, a Black female, died after transport from the abortion clinic to the hospital. According to a statement released by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office:
Decedent was conveyed from 12000 Shaker Blvd., in Cleveland to University Hospitals Case Medical Center and arrived on 3-21-14 where she was treated, expired and was pronounced on 3-28-14.
An autopsy is being conducted and a cause of death is pending, however there is no doubt that her death was caused by the late-term abortion she received on March 21, 2014.
Operation Rescue reported earlier that it had obtained 911 records that indicated a woman had died after an abortion at Preterm. Those records stated that she was “not breathing at all” and had suffered “Cardiac or Respiratory Arrest/Death.”
Dr. Richard Ivan, a retired dentist, reportedly stood nearby when the woman was brought out from the abortion facility about 11:20 a.m. on March 21st. “I was two feet away from the gurney. That girl was dead,” he says sadly.
“There was no protection over her head, no mask on her face. They were in no rush to get her out, which tells me she was beyond help. There were no lights (or siren on ambulance) going to the hospital.”
According to information gathered by Operation Rescue from those on the scene and who have been contacted by members of the woman’s family, Lakisha Wilson was in the later stages of pregnancy, and because of that was turned down by abortion clinics in Columbus and Akron.
She was said to have been brain dead at the time she arrived at the hospital, but was kept on life support for several days so that her organs could be harvested.
“We wish to express our deepest sympathies to Lakisha’s family for their devastating loss,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We have filed complaints with the Ohio Medical Board and with the Ohio Department of Health. We call on the ODH to immediately suspend Preterm’s clinic license pending a full investigation into Lakisha’s death.”
On Wednesday April 3, 2014, pro-lifers held a press conference about the death.
Members of Operation Rescue organized the protest.
In 2012, another black woman, Tonya Reaves died following her legal abortion at Planned Parenthood.
When 24-year-old Tonya Reaves climbed onto a table at a Planned Parenthood facility in Chicago for a “safe and legal” abortion she never knew she would be closing her eyes for the final time. What is now known is that the Planned Parenthood abortionist ripped a hole in Ms. Reaves’ uterus and she began to hemorrhage. It is also known that the Planned Parenthood staff let Tonya lie there for over five hours before they sought emergency care for her. Of course, by then it was too late. She had lost approximately 30 percent of her body’s total blood volume, before she died. Her family is now suing Planned Parenthood.
It was later discovered that a Planned Parenthood supporter appointed the Med Chief who performed Reaves autopsy. (Read here)
Planned Parenthood and others listed on the wrongful death lawsuit were ordered to pay $2,000,000.00 to the family of Tonya Reaves2.
Maurice Stevenson’s wife died of a blood infection in 2002 after undergoing an abortion at Planned Parenthood.
The Chicago Tribune asked Planned Parenthood about the death of Stevenson’s wife and they told the Tribune they could not confirm whether they had reported the 2002 death of Stevenson’s wife, only that it had reported the 2008 death of another patient.
Edward Allred was the owner of one of the largest chains of abortion clinics in the United States. Allred has been accused of making racists comments about blacks and hispanics.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Allred’s California facilities were also handling referrals made by Planned Parenthood.
In 1995, the abortion clinic Allred was accused of racism in the abortion-related death of a 24 year-old African American woman. It was in January of 1995, that 24 year-old African American TaTanisha Wesson went to the Family Planning Associates abortion clinic in Los Angeles, for an abortion and never came home. Her friend saw an ambulance arrive at the clinic that morning while sitting in the waiting room during the procedure.
She called TaTanisha’s parents who rushed to the ER and found their beloved daughter in a coma. TaTanisha died in the hospital on February 1, 1995, leaving behind her 5 year old born son. An attorney for the family told the press that the abortion clinic gave TaTanisha too much anesthesia, that clinic staff was not present when she began to vomit, and that the abortion clinic delayed calling 911 for approx. 25 critical minutes. Her parents accused the abortionist of racism in their daughter’s death.
TaTanisha is one of many women who believed the lie that legal abortion made a “safe” abortion.
