Planned Parenthood + Media attack Texas Gov. but Wendy Davis used single mom for sympathy in politcal ads
Planned Parenthood and the media are attacking Texas Gov. Rick Perry for mentioning the fact that pro-abortion state Senator Wendy Davis was a single mom who should have known better than to stand for the promotion of child killing through abortion. It seems hypocritical, since Davis herself used the sympathy of being a single mom to tout her “accomplishments” in her own political ads.
NBC attacked Perry saying, “Texas Gov. Rick Perry said on Thursday that the Democratic state lawmaker who halted a restrictive abortion law “hasn’t learned from her own example” after having been born into adversity and becoming a teenage mother before going on to success as a Harvard law grad and legislator.”
Then Planned Parenthood weighed in: “Rick Perry’s remarks are incredibly condescending and insulting to women,” Planned Parenthood said in a statement. “This is exactly why the vast majority of Texans believe that politicians shouldn’t be involved in a woman’s personal health care decisions.”
“Even the woman who filibustered in the Senate the other day was born into difficult circumstances,” Perry said. “It’s just unfortunate that she hasn’t learned from her own example that every life must be given a chance to realize its full potential and that every life matters.”
The Dallas Morning News weighed in as well:
HEADLINE: Gov. Rick Perry uses Sen. Wendy Davis’ personal story to question her abortion stance, prompting backlash
Perry was quickly pilloried by Democrats. Davis, who was raised by a single mother, said his statement was “without dignity and tarnishes the high office he holds.”
“They are small words that reflect a dark and negative point of view,” the Fort Worth Democrat said in a written statement.
And this is how the liberal / left wing/ pro-abortion THINK PROGRESS reported the story:
But this 2011-2012 ad shows Wendy Davis herself using Single mom in a political ad:
The ad clearly touts Wendy Daviss “accomplishments” “Wendy was a single mom by 19 while working two jobs a brochure inspired her to try community college”
Here Davis’ herself admits she was RAISED BY A SINGLE MOM and says that “By the time I was 19, I was a single parent”:
Davis says that beauty is the ability to show care and concern for others- what about the kids she “stood” to kill through abortion?
FYI – The Blaze has reported that Davis, wore a catheter to ensure that she wouldn’t need to go to the restroom during her marathon performance.
