Abortion in the news June 24 2013

Planned Parenthood’s false motto is “Care no matter what” but in a twist the #prolife group the The Radiance Foundation has produced this poster to expose how the #abortion giant lies about Pro-life Pregnancy Centers who pose an immediate threat to Planned Parenthood’s profits.

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland says the organization’s leader will retire next year after nearly three decades.

The group’s board of directors announced Friday that Jill June would retire as president and chief executive officer on June 30, 2014.

Just days after the passage of legislation requiring an ultrasound before an abortion, a bill proposed by a Wisconsin Assembly Republican would require an abortion doctor to make burial or cremation arrangements for an aborted fetus.

Proposed by Rep. Garey Bies (R-Sister Bay), the legislation would require a fetus more than 10 weeks old to be either buried, cremated or donated for medical training or research. The woman would not have to give her consent to the arrangements, nor would she have to be told they are occurring, under the bill.

If the doctor didn’t make the arrangements, he or she could be fined $1,000.

In an email to other legislators, Bies said his bill was modeled on a Michigan law enacted after an abortion facility was found disposing of its fetuses in a regular trash bin.

“They should be treated like a human being,” Bies said in an interview. Full Story

Supreme Court will hear appeal of law creating abortion buffer zone. The Supreme Court will reconsider the constitutionality of a 2007 Massachusetts law that bars protests in 35-foot “buffer zones” around abortion clinic entrances, exits and driveways.

The justices on Monday agreed to hear an appeal from abortion opponents, who wanted the law thrown out. The law allows individuals to enter the buffer zone only to enter or leave the clinic or reach a destination other than the clinic. Read more

NEW YORK: Pro-life activists in New York are breathing a sigh of relief after the Senate successfully blocked Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s bill that would have radically expanded abortion in a state already plagued by the highest abortion rate in the union. A last minute attempt to pass the governor’s abortion language as a “hostile amendment” to another Senate bill was defeated by Senate Republicans. The abortion provision, which was introduced by Cuomo as part of a 10-point omnibus “Women’s Equality Act,” would have expanded abortions into the third trimester for virtually any reason and opened the door to non-medical professionals performing abortions. As Komen continues to fund the #abortion giant Planned Parenthood. The new CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure says she and the breast cancer charity are moving past the fight over funding Planned Parenthood that divided supporters.

Judith A. Salerno tells The Dallas Morning News ( http://dallasne.ws/11xMZ2C) that people in the organization she agreed to join are “interested in moving the organization ahead, not looking back.”

Life News reports that the new president of Komen for the Cure is refusing to detail her position on abortion. That will likely only add to the furor the breast cancer charity has caused within the pro-life community — where its initial decision to de-fund Planned Parenthood and its backtracking days later cost it dearly with pro-life Americans.

As LifeNews reported, Komen has a new president and CEO. The breast cancer charity named Judith Salerno to replace founder Nancy Brinker, whose promise to her dying sister begat a fundraising powerhouse has faced significant controversy.

Planned Parenthood Sues Over Law Requiring That Moms Be Told They’re Killing a ‘Human Being’! “It’s called compelled speech, which is a violation of the First Amendment,” local Planned Parenthood President Peter Brownlie told the Associated Press. “The legislature is attempting to force us to endorse the political views of the governor and his allies.”

Texas Republicans used their majority to cut short debate and give preliminary approval early Monday to some of the toughest abortion restrictions in the country as time was running out on the Texas Legislature’s special session. The measure would ban abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy, require doctors to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals and limit abortions to surgical centers…opponents point out the bill would shut down 37 out of 42 abortion clinics in the state. House members must still give final approval to the bill, and then it must sit for 24 hours before the Senate can consider it.
