On Tuesday’s Presidential debate, President Obama perpetuated the lie that the abortion giant Planned Parenthood did Mammograms. Much was made over Romney’s exchange challenging Obama on Libya , to the point that Candy Crowley stepped in to agree with Obama that the Sept. 12,2012 Rose Garden transcripts say that Obama called the attack on the US Libyan Embassy which killed 4 of our diplomats “Terrorism”. What Crowley and the media are failing to point out is that Obama Gaffed when he said or lied about the so-called Mammograms Planned Parenthood performs.
Pro-lifers are now taking to the phones to prove yet again that this mammogram myth is a lie to make the abortion giant of the US look better in the eyes of the public and to appeal to women.
To test the president’s statement further, Journalist Eliana Johnson called several Planned Parenthood offices in the New York City area today to ask about scheduling a mammogram. “We actually don’t offer that here,” one office told Johnson . “You might want to call 311, they actually have lists of places you could go to.” When Johnson asked, “You don’t provide them like the president said?,” Johnson was told “No.”
Another office told Johnson the following: “We don’t do mammograms, but I could definitely give you other places you could call.” When Johnson mentioned the president’s statement, the woman said, “I’m not even sure because we’ve never offered mammograms.” Of the five offices Johnson called, only the Hempstead, N.Y., location said it offered the service — on Fridays and not by an in-house technician. On October 18,2012 self appointed investigators took to the phones to schedule mammogram appointments with Planned Parenthood- here is what they discovered:

The Alliance Defense Fund asked in an April 2 FOIA request to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for “All currently active certificates to operate a mammography facility issued by the FDA or by any state or entity designated to provide such certificates by the FDA for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, any affiliate of Planned Parenthood Federation of America or any entity whose name included ‘Planned Parenthood.’”
The HHS responded in a letter on June 4 that said, “In your request you asked for the following, all currently active certificates to operate a mammography facility for Planned Parenthood. In response to your information request, we have performed a thorough and diligent investigation of our records and there are no adverse events for these firms. Unfortunately our search did not uncover any documents pertinent to your request.”
Read the FOIA this letter from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. No Planned Parenthood clinic in the country is authorized to perform mammograms. CNS News reports that The FDA licenses mammography centers to own and operate mammogram machines. If a facility owns or operates a mammogram machine without a government license, it could result in a $10,000 fine
In 2011 a series of undercover phone calls proved that contrary to the claims of Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards and other supporters of the nation’s largest abortion chain, the organization does not provide mammograms for women.
In the tapes, a Live Action actor calls 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in 27 different states, inquiring about mammograms at Planned Parenthood. Every Planned Parenthood, without exception, tells her she will have to go elsewhere for a mammogram, and many clinics admit that no Planned Parenthood clinics provide this breast cancer screening procedure. “We don’t provide those services whatsoever,” admits a staffer at Planned Parenthood of Arizona. Planned Parenthood’s Comprehensive Health Center clinic in Overland Park, KS explains to the caller, “We actually don’t have a, um, mammogram machine, at our clinics.”
Opponents of defunding Planned Parenthood have argued in Congress and elsewhere that the organization provides many vital health care services other than abortion, such as mammograms. Most prominently, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards appeared on The Joy Behar Show to oppose the Pence Amendment to end Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer subsidies, claiming, “If this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are gonna lose their healthcare access–not to abortion services–to basic family planning, you know, mammograms.”
The calls were recorded by Live Action, the youth-led pro-life group responsible for recent undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood staff, from management on down, willing to aid and abet the sex trafficking of young girls at 7 clinics in 4 different states. Live Action president Lila Rose says the new recordings further confirm Planned Parenthood’s corruption: “Planned Parenthood is first and foremost an abortion business, but Planned Parenthood and its allies will say almost anything to try and cover up that fact and preserve its taxpayer funding. It’s not surprising that an organization found concealing statutory rape and helping child sex traffickers would misrepresent its own services so brazenly, playing on women’s fears in order to protect their tax dollars.”
Former Planned Parenthood Director Abby Johnson notes that the recordings demonstrate Planned Parenthood is not a comprehensive health care provider. “For so long PP has touted that they are a provider of mammogram services. This is just one of the lies that PP uses to draw people into their clinics. PP is not able to provide quality services on their own, so they are forced to lie to the public about services they don’t provide–and mammograms are just one of those services.”
Both Rose and Johnson call on Congress to revoke all taxpayer subsidies from Planned Parenthood. In the last reported year, Planned Parenthood received $363 million in government money.
Planned Parenthood received $349.6 million in tax dollars in the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2008, and $363.2 MILLION Dollars on Government Grants ( Tax Dollars) in 2009– that is ONE MILLION DOLLARS PER DAY of taxpayer money !!!

Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year. Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Web site shows that it performed 332,278 abortions in 2009, up 8,270 from 2008. Why should the taxpayer be forced to fund abortion?
Planned Parenthood also PROFITED $64 million dollars in that same year ! Why do they need you and I to fund them?
But, Planned Parenthood’s profits are politicians gains. Just look at this analysis from Open Secrets which monitors 501C3 organizations and how they distribute and collect their funding:

Planned Parenthood also recorded $905,796 in independent expenditures during the 2010 cycle — money spent in support of, or in opposition to, federal political candidates, largely through advertisements. The top beneficiaries of this money were Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.).
In 2010 alone, Planned Parenthood and a California affiliate together spent more than $700,000 on federal lobbying efforts, a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of federal lobbying records finds. By comparison, all other organizations that primarily advocate for abortion rights collectively spent $247,280 on federal lobbying efforts during the same period.
So, not only does taxpayer money make Planned Parenthood officials RICH FAT CATS, they also expand the coffers of the politicians who support them- see how the cycle works?

Planned Parenthood of North Texas has broken ground in southwest Fort Worth, Texas on a $6.5 million health center and administrative office. According to its website, the planned 19,000 square foot complex will be triple the size of the facility it is replacing.
Construction has begun on Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region’s new health center at 2430 Poplar Avenue in Midtown Memphis
$2 Million Dollars: 2012- Planned Parenthood plans to open its first health center in the Victor Valley by the end of the year on Park Avenue, next to the Coco’s Bakery. The site was built in the ’80s to house Chuck E. Cheese’s and was last used in 2006 as a furniture store.
A Victorville zoning administrator approved the site plan for the $2.2 million project in early May, since the medical office is a permitted use in that area and the project meets all city codes. The site plan calls for minor exterior improvements and parking lot alterations to the existing 10,000-square-foot building.
$2.3 Million: 2012- Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ Teen Awareness Group helped kick off the remodel of the Planned Parenthood health center at 302 E. Stoughton St.
According to a press release, the budget for the remodel is $2.3 million.
In June of 2012, a builder informed pro-lifer Terri Palmquist of the construction of the new Planned Parenthood “mega” abortion center planned for Bakersfield, CA— over 10,000 square feet — a few blocks west of Mercy Hospital, across the street from a residential area. Concord-based Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific has expanded from the East Bay after the national Planned Parenthood Federation canceled its affiliation with the former Planned Parenthood Golden Gate last September due to a host of financial and administrative problems. The Shasta Pacific affiliate’s new clinic is opening in a 1,600-square-foot space at 141 Camino Alto, a medical office building across from Mill Valley Middle School that also includes two dental practices, an orthodontist and a prosthodontist.
On May 11th, 2010, Planned Parenthood opened its 76,000 square foot facility at 4600 Gulf Freeway.

Some argue that Planned Parenthood is a “good” organization despite the fact that they were founded by a RACIST KLAN speaker who was so connected with the Eugenics Movement that many of her Planned Parenthood board members were Eugenics members as well. While Planned Parenthood touts itself as an organization dedicated to women’s reproductive health, more than one-third of the executives surveyed in the new report (36%) are men and only 12 percent of them have any health background while 11 percent have some sort of political background.
The report also surveyed the salaries of the top employees of the abortion business, which maintains its headquarters in new York City. The report shows Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and her chief lieutenants are paid well.
