West Palm Beach, FL – Sirens could be heard from far away by pro-life witnesses as an ambulance rushed to the Presidential Women’s Center abortion clinic in West Palm Beach, Florida, last Saturday, April 9, 2011, to transport a woman to the hospital for emergency care.

The abortion clinic offers abortions through 23 weeks gestation and is a member of the National Abortion Federation (NAF), an affiliation of abortionists with notoriously poor health and safety records.

This was the third reported emergency transport witnessed by pro-life activists from an NAF abortion clinic over the weekend of April 8-9, 2011.

The abortionist on duty at Presidential Women’s Center during the medical emergency was Michael Benjamin, who has a history of Medical Board discipline and has a current public complaint on file, according to the Florida Department of Health. Abortionist Frank Rodriguez is also known to do abortions there.

The ambulance pulled into the back alley where emergency workers loaded gurney bearing an injured woman then sped away to an unknown hospital emergency room. The woman’s condition remains unknown.

One quick-thinking activist photographed the arrival of the ambulance then drove to the back of the building to further document the incident.

“This is not the first time we have seen ambulances at Presidential Women’s Center,” said M. Susan Pine, President of FACE Life, Inc., the local pro-life group on the scene last Saturday. “Presidential is simply another butcher shop.”

One day before the West Palm Beach incident, pro-lifers documented two ambulances at the Affiliated Medical Services in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, transporting separate women for emergency care.

“More and more, savvy pro-lifers are documenting the incidents they witness. In exposing these medical emergencies, activists are tearing back the veil so the public an better understand the true dangers of abortion at the hands of men and women who are all too often little better than quacks,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
“Respectable physicians do not sink to the level of being an abortionist, leaving the abortion cartel with only the unscrupulous and the dangerous. With abortion clinics nearly unaccountable to the law, it is little wonder that we are seeing so many injuries. We call on the authorities in Florida and Wisconsin to strictly enforce abortion laws already on the books, close these dangerous abortion clinics, and bring the botched abortion perpetrators to justice.”

On Michael Benjamin’s Website – he lists himself as “Florida’s most experienced abortion provider” …HMMM- what does that tell you about the rest of the quacks performing abortions in Florida ?

A group called Women of Color is upset that dr. Benjamin uses quinacrine which they claim is for the purpose of sterilizing the poor…they write,

Quinacrine Sterilization: advertised and used to sterilize women in Florida!
Dr. Randall B. Whitney, M.D., of Family Planning, Inc., a private clinic in Daytona Beach, currently advertises and offers quinacrine sterilizations. (See http://www.drwhitney.com for more
information).

Dr. Michael Benjamin, M.D., of Benjamin Surgical Services International in Ft. Lauderdale plans to offer quinacrine sterilizations in his practice as soon as a pharmacy can compound the drug. (See http://www.drbenjamin.com for more information). An October 4, 1998 Miami Herald article reported that Dr. Michael Benjamin views QS as “a practical answer to one of the
world’s biggest problems—overpopulation,” and that he would provide it free to low-income women. In his email communication with reproductive rights advocates from Hampshire College, he commented on whom he would target for quinacrine sterilization: “Bear in mind that we are not talking about Susie Smith in Suburbia under the care of Jack Jones MD,” he writes. “We’re talking about women with burgeoning families, little food, little money, little health care, possible AIDs, and no reliable contraception.”

This is not shocker since Michael Benjamin also aborted children , mostly low-income and Black Haitian children at the Women’s Clinic run by former abortion clinic owner Joyce Tarnow.

Tarnow had advocated over-population myths for years and has said tat we should not assist nation’s like Haiti but allow them to “Stew in their own juices.” More on Tarnow’s racist ideas here

In Testimony before the House Health care Committee, Full Committee Meeting September 14 and 15, 1989, Florida House of Representatives, abortionist Michael Benjamin
described the average abortion patient in a derogatory way, “I think it is basically a personality type who generally has her life out of control and unfortunately nowadays there are no shortage of people in general whose lives are out of control. They drift, they tend to live for the moment in terms not only of their sexual practices but in terms of their economic lives and they are people in general who don’t think beyond the moment, who don’t plan for tomorrow, and who really will take life as it comes and deal with the rest later. …

I wonder how this abortion patient would describe him? Just Say’n
