ClaireKeyespicture-1211Long Time Pittsburgh abortion provider Claire Keyes has accused Planned Parenthood who receives MILLIONS in tax dollars of ignoring the poor, “They’ve made a decision to go after the young and the hip and the affluent, and they’re leaving poor women behind,” she told the Wall Street Journal.

Claire Keyes is a writer for the pro-choice blog RH Reality Check, and say that most of her life’s work has been in abortion. She has been the director of Allegheny Reproductive Health Center for more than 25 years, but recently retired. For nearly two decades she has been training abortion counselors; she has presented at both the National Abortion Federation and the National Coalition of Abortion Providers and she co-authored, “How Do You Want Your Abortion”.

Keyes is right !!!!

Planned Parenthood reports that they killed 333,964 unborn children from abortion with our tax dollars in the year 2011 to 2012 according to their most recent report! In addition, according to Planned Parenthood’s “Services” fact sheet, its clinics performed 329,445 abortions in 2010.

Construction has begun on Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region’s new health center at 2430 Poplar Avenue in Midtown Memphis

$2 Million Dollars: 2012- Planned Parenthood plans to open its first health center in the Victor Valley by the end of the year on Park Avenue, next to the Coco’s Bakery. The site was built in the ’80s to house Chuck E. Cheese’s and was last used in 2006 as a furniture store.
A Victorville zoning administrator approved the site plan for the $2.2 million project in early May, since the medical office is a permitted use in that area and the project meets all city codes. The site plan calls for minor exterior improvements and parking lot alterations to the existing 10,000-square-foot building.

$2.3 Million: 2012- Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ Teen Awareness Group helped kick off the remodel of the Planned Parenthood health center at 302 E. Stoughton St.
According to a press release, the budget for the remodel is $2.3 million.

In June of 2012, a builder informed pro-lifer Terri Palmquist of the construction of the new Planned Parenthood “mega” abortion center planned for Bakersfield, CA— over 10,000 square feet — a few blocks west of Mercy Hospital, across the street from a residential area. The new location is about a block west of the existing Planned Parenthood office, where abortions have apparently never been committed, although abortion referrals have frequently occurred.

Planned Parenthood is building a 13,000+ sq. ft. facility in Virginia Beach (515 Newtown Rd.)

$2.3 Million: 2010- Planned Parenthood is preparing to start a $2.3 million building project to expand its services and client base in Champaign.
Beth Kanter, Planned Parenthood spokeswoman, said the organization is planning a complete remodeling of its Champaign facility at 302 E. Stoughton St. and has raised more than half the money needed to pay for it.

Construction is moving forward on the new Planned Parenthood facility in the Glenwood community between Eugene and Springfield.

$1.69 Million- ALBANY, NY -September 13, 2010, Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood opens the doors at its new Albany health care center and administrative offices at 855 Central Avenue. The new facility takes up the entire third floor of the three story building, located between CVS and Orange Ford across from the Hannaford Plaza on Central Avenue. In addition to the Albany health center, the facility includes a large conference room, a library, and a “Teen room”, as well as administrative and education offices. “We now have 18,000 square feet of completely renovated space explained UHPP President/CEO Patricia McGeown. Months after Planned Parenthood paid $733,151 cash for a 17,050 sq ft unfinished shell in Auburn Hills, Michigan, it stands empty as a neighboring hotel owner continues to battle the abortion giant in court, claiming a deed restriction prevents the structure from being used as an abortion mill.

The Shasta Pacific affiliate’s new clinic is opening in a 1,600-square-foot space at 141 Camino Alto, a medical office building across from Mill Valley Middle School that also includes two dental practices, an orthodontist and a prosthodontist.

On May 11th, 2010, Planned Parenthood opened its 76,000 square foot facility at 4600 Gulf Freeway.

Planned Parenthood of MN, ND, and SD is building a 46,000 sq. ft., 3-story mega-mill in an industrial park….

Some argue that Planned Parenthood is a “good” organization despite the fact that they were founded by a RACIST KLAN speaker who was so connected with the Eugenics Movement that many of her Planned Parenthood board members were Eugenics members as well. Eugenics is the movement that forcefully sterilized thousands of Blacks in the US and Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger agreed with that ideology. State Rep. Marty Walz, a Back Bay Democrat, will resign from the House next month to become the president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts

MartyWalz

Walz, 51, plans to resign the seat in mid-February after starting her fifth term in the House of Representatives earlier this month, and will join Planned Parenthood in early March.

The board of Planned Parenthood voted Tuesday night to approve Walz’s hiring following a search led by PPLM board member Roberta Herman, the chief operating officer of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

Walz will replace CEO Diane Luby who made quite a lucrative salary at the tax funded Planned Parenthood Organization.

Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts: Dianne Luby, who has led the league for 13 years, told the board that she’ll step down at the end of this year.

Luby became CEO of PPLM in 1999.

Luby began her lucrative career with Planned Parenthood starting at a salary of $ 83,230 which quickly increased. In 2008 PPLM’s 990reported she earned $266,416, in 2009 $265,269.

According to a local news story, Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan has launched a $3 million fundraising campaign to fund renovations and upgrades at its health centers throughout the state.

Although the agency just recently announced its public phase of the Standing Tall campaign, it has already raised $2.5 million toward its goal, said Katherine Humphrey, president of Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan.

The need for expansion is driven in part by the Affordable Care Act, Humphrey said. An increase in demand for primary care services is expected as more people qualify for Medicaid or subsidies to buy health insurance.

Planned Parenthood aims to serve “as a collaborative partner and an essential community provider in the evolving health care world, so we can effectively meet the growing needs,” she said.

Planned Parenthood received $349.6 million in tax dollars in the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2008, and $363.2 MILLION Dollars on Government Grants ( Tax Dollars) in 2009- that is ONE MILLION DOLLARS PER DAY of taxpayer money !!!

The $385,163 in pay Planned Parenthood President Richards received in the organization’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was recorded in the group’s publicly available Internal Revenue Service Form 990 filed for that year.

Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year. My name is Karl Eastlund and I make a 6 digit salary working for the abortion giant and tax funded Planned Parenthood

Posted in Planned Parenthood at church, Planned Parenthood Employee, Planned Parenthood rich off taxpayers with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on July 12, 2012 by saynsumthn

Karl Eastlund was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho in November of 2011 after serving for five months in the interim position.Karl joined Planned Parenthood in 2003 as the Chief Financial Officer and quickly became the organizations Chief Operating Officer.

According to a 2009, 990 filed by Planned Parenthood of Central Washington, Eastlund made $100,648 base compensation , $5,000 in Bonus and incentive pay,$3,408 in retirement and other compensation, $5654 in non-taxable benefits, for a grand total of $114,710. Eastlund only worked on average 37.50 hours per week for that salary.

Discrimination:

In 2012 Planned Parenthood of Central Washington was ordered to pay a former employee more than $106,000 in damages after firing her because of a disability.

The money awarded to Shannon Sharp by a Benton County Superior Court judge includes more than $86,000 for back wages and $20,000 for emotional distress.

Karl Eastlund, the organization’s CEO, also was ordered to pay Sharp $30,000 for emotional distress.

Sharp waged an eight-year battle against her former employer that culminated in a jury verdict in her favor in late June.

Back to the six digit salaries:

Former CEOs Anna Franks received $212,513 from the tax funded Planned Parenthood and Medical Director Sara Cate was paid $145,683

Planned Parenthood of Central Washington has now become Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho and given the salary of their previous CEO Anna Franks, it is expected that Eastlund will earn well over $200,000 from the TAX FUNDED organization.

Perhaps the hard working American public would like to think that an organization that receives TAX DOLLARS could pay their employees a little less than 6 digit salaries.

In the video below, Eastlund explains that Planned Parenthood has an “Image Problem” inside a church of all places….I guess they do given they are the number one provider of abortions in the nation and they set up their clinics in minority neighborhoods and were founded by a racist and eugenics Klan Speaker ( See Maafa21)

To add to their already dismal image problem: Planned Parenthood of Central Washington, recently lost a lawsuit to a former employee who charged the so-called pro-woman organization with discrimination for her disability.

Shannon Sharp worked for Planned Parenthood of Central Washington as a regional manager before being diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in her neck and back that required ongoing medical treatment, her attorney Mike Saunders of Seattle told the media.

Her neck and back pain sometimes made Sharp unable to perform all of her job functions, and her lawsuit alleged that Planned Parenthood fired Sharp rather than provide reasonable accommodations. The case came to trial in June of 2012, and a jury on June 27, 2012 awarded more than $136,000 to Sharp after finding that she was fired because of her disability.

Other Officers at the National Level received the following compensation:

CFO, MARIA ACOSTA received $89,691 from Planned Parenthood $5,725 from related organizations and $2,362 in estimated compensations

VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT KIM MEREDITH received $220,427 from Planned Parenthood $24,492 from related organizations and $24,076 in estimated compensations. Before joining PPFA in 2006, Meredith spent nearly nine years as the chief operating officer at the now defunct and now disaffiliated Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, a Planned Parenthood clinic which squandered tax dollars and will close and never repay their debtors .

Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Web site shows that it performed 332,278 abortions in 2009, up 8,270 from 2008. Why should the taxpayer be forced to fund abortion?

Planned Parenthood also PROFITED $64 million dollars in that same year ! Why do they need you and I to fund them?

But, Planned Parenthood’s profits are politicians gains. Just look at this analysis from Open Secrets which monitors 501C3 organizations and how they distribute and collect their funding:

The organization’s political action committee, for example, donated more than $148,000 to federal candidates — almost all Democrats -- during the 2010 election cycle. The PAC spent more than $443,000 overall.

Planned Parenthood also recorded $905,796 in independent expenditures during the 2010 cycle – money spent in support of, or in opposition to, federal political candidates, largely through advertisements. The top beneficiaries of this money were Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.).

In 2010 alone, Planned Parenthood and a California affiliate together spent more than $700,000 on federal lobbying efforts, a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of federal lobbying records finds. By comparison, all other organizations that primarily advocate for abortion rights collectively spent $247,280 on federal lobbying efforts during the same period.

So, not only does taxpayer money make Planned Parenthood officials RICH FAT CATS, they also expand the coffers of the politicians who support them- see how the cycle works?

While Planned Parenthood touts itself as an organization dedicated to women’s reproductive health, more than one-third of the executives surveyed in the new report (36%) are men and only 12 percent of them have any health background while 11 percent have some sort of political background.

The report also surveyed the salaries of the top employees of the abortion business, which maintains its headquarters in new York City. The report shows Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and her chief lieutenants are paid well.

Top salaries at the Planned Parenthood’s national office, according to the PPFA Federal Form 990 for the year ending June 30, 2010 are:

President Cecile Richards $353,819
Chief Operating Officer Maryana Iskander $288,886
Chief Financial Officer Maria Acosta $263,443
VP of Medical Affairs Vanessa Cullins $257,115
VP of General Counsel Barbara Otten $251,379

An Anniversary of Consequence – a look back at the Hyde amendment which prohibited tax funded abortions

H/T to First Things

Aug 11, 2010 By: George Weigel

On June 30, 1980, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision in Harris v. McRae and upheld the constitutionality of the Hyde Amendment, which had prohibited federal funding for Medicaid abortions since 1976. Three decades later, Harris v. McRae remains the pro-life movement’s most important legal victory since Roe v. Wade created a “right to abortion” in 1973. That victory is now jeopardized by Obamacare, and by the insouciance of some Catholics about the extension of the Hyde Amendment to future federal health-care legislation.

On this 30th anniversary, therefore, it’s important to remember just what was achieved in Harris v. McRae.

First, writing for the Court majority, Justice Potter Stewart made clear that, whatever putative “right to abortion” may be found within the interstices of the Constitution, such a “right” does not imply that the federal government can compel American taxpayers to pay for the deaths of innocents.

As Justice Stewart put it, “Regardless of whether the freedom of a woman to choose to terminate her pregnancy for health reasons lies at the core or the periphery of the due process liberty recognized in [Roe v. Wade], it simply does not follow that a woman’s freedom of choice carries with it a constitutional entitlement to the financial resources to avail herself of the full range of protected choices.” In plain language: any putative “right to abortion” does not carry with it the power to make me pay for abortions.

Second, the majority in the Court’s 5-4 decision accepted the Solicitor General’s argument that the Hyde Amendment is, as my friend Edward Grant has written, “rationally related to the interest we all must have in preserving nascent human life and encouraging childbirth.” In other words: pregnancy is not a disease, the choice to terminate a pregnancy is fraught with public implications, and the state has an interest in supporting the begetting and safe delivery of its future citizens.

Third, the Court rejected the plaintiff’s claims that the Hyde Amendment’s prohibition on federal funding of abortion involved an imposition of Catholic doctrine in violation of the First Amendment’s ban on religious “establishment.” In plain language: the abortion debate is not “sectarian,” but engages fundamental issues of justice in which everyone has a stake.

The heroes of this victory should also be remembered at its 30th anniversary: Congressman Henry J. Hyde; Professor Victor Rosenblum of Northwestern University, Dennis Horan, Patrick Trueman, Thomas Marzen, and other members of the legal team at the Americans United for Life Legal Defense Fund; James Buckley and Jesse Helms, who, with Congressman Hyde, entered the case as intervening-defendants. Some of the young lawyers who worked with the defense team in Harris v. McRae have continued to make names for themselves as national pro-life leaders: Carl Anderson, now Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus; Robert Destro, now of the Catholic University of America’s law school; and Paige Comstock Cunningham, a longtime board member of Americans United for Life. All honor to them.

Their achievement, however, is not secure. The Hyde Amendment, although deemed constitutional, still had to be re-enacted in every Congress, every year following Harris v. McRae—a fact of legislative history that raises the most serious questions about the Obama administration’s claim that the Hyde Amendment is such “settled law” that it need not be replicated in the various legislative iterations of Obamacare. The administration’s “deal” with certain Democratic congressmen to include a Hyde Amendment-type ban on abortion funding through a presidential executive order is the thinnest of barriers—some would say, a non-existent barrier—against claims that abortion is a “necessary” form of health care that requires taxpayer funding. That some Catholic members of Congress and some Catholic health-care advocates have fallen for this sleight-of-hand reflects either grave misunderstanding of the law or bad faith.

The Hyde Amendment is a continual bone in the throat of abortion advocates, who once followed Henry Hyde to Mass in their efforts to “prove” that his amendment was the product of Catholic hocus-pocus. They won’t down tools in this fight. Neither should the defenders of Harris v. McRae.

Nelson is a sell-out: New Senate bill does NOT stop abortion funding !

Nebraska Right to Life said it had been “betrayed” by the Nebraska Democrat, long an abortion opponent, who agreed to support compromise language on abortion.

His home-state colleague, Republican Mike Johanns, said he was “stunned and incredibly disappointed” by Nelson’s decision. And the chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party, Mark Fahleson, vowed that it was the “death knell” for Nelson’s political career.

Q&A: the Senate abortion compromise

Posted on Baptist Press: Dec 19, 2009 | by Michael Foust

WASHINGTON (BP)–Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska announced Saturday he had reached an agreement with Democratic leaders to tweak abortion language in the Senate’s health care bill. Pro-life groups and pro-choice groups, though, are not happy with the compromise language. Following are a few common questions, with answers, about the compromise:

– What would the compromise language do?

It uses funding segregation language that has been criticized by pro-lifers for months. The compromise: 1) forces enrollees in private insurance plans receiving government subsidies to write two checks — one for their premium and the other for elective abortion coverage, and 2) allows states to prohibit abortion coverage in government-subsidized plans (the latter of which, pro-lifers say, already was allowed). Insurance companies would be forced to keep the abortion coverage money separate from the subsidy money it receives from the government.

– How is it different from the pro-life Stupak amendment that was attached to the House’s health care bill?

Very different. The Stupak amendment prohibited elective abortions from being covered in government-subsidized plans. Under the Senate bill, the plans can cover such abortions.

– Why has there been so much controversy surrounding the issue?

Because current law prohibits the federal government from funding insurance plans that cover elective abortions. Medicaid is prohibited from covering elective abortions, as are insurance plans for federal employees. Congress’ own insurance plans, for instance, cannot by law cover elective abortions. The Senate health care bill would be a dramatic change in policy, pro-lifers say.

– How have pro-lifers reacted to the compromise?

By heavily criticizing it. National Right to Life released a statement Saturday saying the “so-called ‘firewall’” between federal money and private money “is merely a bookkeeping gimmick, inconsistent with the long-established principles that govern existing federal health programs.” The organization also said “there is nothing in the language to suggest that payment of the abortion charge is optional for any enrollee.” Nebraska Right to Life — which endorsed Nelson in 2006 — said Nelson “obliterated the hope of pro-life Americans who saw him as the last man standing” in the way of “expansion of government funding.” Americans United for Life said the bill’s opt-out option for states “makes abortion coverage normative” and “turn[s] on its head the traditional federal approach to abortion.” All the major pro-life groups are urging senators to filibuster and defeat the bill. The Weekly Standard posted an article that said even if a state opts out, it would leave, for instance, “Nebraska’s voters entirely vulnerable to paying for California’s and New York’s abortions.”

– Pro-lifers have said a change in policy could lead to an increase in the abortion rate. How?

If the bill passes, there will be women under the new plans who, for the first time, have abortion coverage. There would be no financial deterrent to an abortion, as there is for them now. The pro-choice Guttmacher Institute this summer reported that about 25 percent of the women in Medicaid who would have had an abortion chose instead to give birth because they were barred from using public money.

– How have pro-choice groups reacted?

They, too, are opposed. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said the Nelson language “is essentially an abortion rider” that shames women and “creates an unworkable system whereby individuals are required to write two separate checks each month.” Richards added that it is “highly unlikely that insurance companies will be willing to follow such an administratively cumbersome system, leaving tens of millions of women without abortion coverage.” Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, called the compromise language “outrageous” and “unacceptable.” But both women acknowledge the compromise does not go as far as the Stupak amendment.

— What has Nelson said?

He released a statement saying, “I have strongly held views on the subject and I have fought hard to prevent tax dollars from being used to subsidize abortions. I believe we have accomplished that goal. I have also fought hard to protect the right of states to regulate the kind of insurance that is offered, and to provide health insurance options in every state that do not provide coverage for abortion.”

— What happens now?

If the Senate bill passes, the political battle will move to a joint House-Senate conference committee, which will work out the differences between the two bills. Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), the pro-life congressmen who sponsored the House amendment, released a statement saying he looks forward “to working with members of the House, Senate and the Obama Administration to find common ground on this issue and draft language that guarantees continuation of current law of no public funding for abortion.” He called the compromise language “not acceptable” and added it would be “a dramatic shift in federal policy that would allow the federal government to subsidize insurance policies with abortion coverage.” He also said the “segregation of funds to pay for abortion is another departure from current policy prohibiting federal subsidy of abortion coverage.”

– Wouldn’t the Hyde amendment apply to the health care bill?

The Hyde amendment, which prevents elective abortions from being covered under Medicaid, would not apply to the new health care bill. The Hyde amendment, as well as the Stupak amendment, allow for exceptions in the cases of rape, incest and to save the mother’s life.

— Has any polling been done on this issue?

A CNN poll in November found American adults are against “using public funds for abortions when the woman cannot afford it” by a 61-37 percent margin.
